Mornin all SC glad all ok!
Tabs lol

flamesparrow · 13/08/2005 09:58

Is it? I didn't know it was coming back! I always think I don't like things like XFactor and then I get sucked into them ... Still bitter about that moron who won the last one though.

How's everyone feeling today? My denim skirt won't do up all the way anymore!!!

angedemarche · 13/08/2005 10:23

SC- delighted that everything is going well. Did you get to keep a copy of the scan?

TicTac · 13/08/2005 19:34

Hi Flame...can't wait until Xfactor..I get sucked in too. I saw G4 on the 4th June this year...TicTacs first live concert followed by U2 2 weeks later!

That Steve winner is such a *!?% head!

ixel · 14/08/2005 13:13

Hang on.. who said the magic words?! When exactly next week is x factor back? Dh is on late shifts, so I'll even be able to watch it without a fight!!

TicTac · 14/08/2005 14:41

Ixel - it starts Saturday 20th and I think it is at about 6:45 although not too sure on the time! Handbags at the ready!

Where have you all gone? Is everyone ok??

OP posts:
chloe55 · 15/08/2005 09:29

Morning everyone,

Have been a bit naughty at the weekend and have bought loads of Eeyore things for the soon to be nursery! I told myself I wouldn't start buying until nearer the time but I went in the Disney store and completely got carried away. I have also found a full Eeyore nursery set in Argos which includes border, light fitting, curtain, bedding, moses basket everything! Oooh I'm so excited I need to try and control myself. My DH reckons I've only got pregnant so I can dedicate a full room to Eeyore

flamesparrow · 15/08/2005 09:46

Still about - my sister has been visiting for the weekend, and DD is determined to injure herself at every opportunity.

She hates blood, and keeps falling over and grazing her knees, bleeding, and screaming for hours. First was Thursday... 5 1/2 hours of sobbing! ... then she did it yesterday at lunch, and we had to leave the restaurant before eating cos she cried so much... THEN again later that afternoon, getting any area not covered in plaster. She is now sobbing about me touching her knees, so it looks like a day in nappies rather than knickers or pull ups.

I'm fine though ... scan tomorrow!!!

TicTac · 15/08/2005 11:18

Chloe you really have gone to town haven't you! I don't blame you though, it is all esciting. I am waiting until after my 20 week scan though before I admit we need a nursery and start planning that! I have been really paranoid through this preg so I think I need some reassurance that it is really going to happen...not that I have any reason to believe other wise...I think I have been a worry wort!

Flame - Poor chick, there are only so many places you little one can bump herself...she will run out soon!!!

Good luck for the scan, are you excited? It will be fab, I hope bean is lying in such a way you can have a good look!!

OP posts:
chloe55 · 15/08/2005 11:55

Yeah, good luck for the scan - I can't wait for the 20 week scan, just another 6 weeks to go - it seems to be dragging and I bet I will be cross with myself for wishing the weeks away when they're gone. I couldn't wait to get to 12 weeks and then I told myself I could relax. My next milestone is 20 weeks but I bet I don't relax after that either!

I know what you mean about waiting TicTac - I promised myself I would but then my DH got very excited in the store and kept bringing me more Eeyore stuff and I was just so pleased he was getting excited too coz he has been so relaxed and chilled out about the whole thing so far.

The way I see it though if worst scenario happens than I just have a very fun room. I am definitely holding back on the pram/cot/baby clothes front coz I think that would be tempting fate.

chloe55 · 15/08/2005 12:00

Not long to go before your 4D scan now TicTac - when will you get back from Canada? Will you get access to the internet whilst you are there?

Tabs · 15/08/2005 12:22

Afternoon all (just typed morning all - how did it get to be afternoon already?!?!). Another X Factor fan here .

Hurrah for your scan Spacecadet, and good luck for yours flamesparrow. Frizbe - is yours coming up this week too?

Well I had a lovely weekend. Best friend was due to have little girl on 7th, but still not arrived, so we went to visit on Saturday. Was lovely to see her, and have arranged to borrow her moses basket and stand when our little one arrives. They said it would help them out too, as then they won't have to find somewhere to store it in their flat! She's being induced on Wedns (if bed available!) if no sign of labour naturally by then.

Then yesterday we had the in-laws round for lunch, so cooked up a feast. They managed to get our shortlisted baby names out of us in the end, but thankfully they seemed to really like our front runners. Thank goodness! Has anyone/everyone else picked names yet?

TicTac - I'm like you and won't buy anything until after 20 week scan, although am having fun choosing what I might buy in the meantime. Chloe - is it just eeyore you like or all of the wtp characters? There's another lady on this forum who is a mad eeyore fan (Loubie37), so you and she should obsess together!!

chloe55 · 15/08/2005 12:27

It's just Eeyore coz he is so cute.

We have finally agreed on Georgia if it's a girl but no idea for a boy. DH really likes Jacob but there seems to be a lot of them about at the mo I've found.

Are you gonna share your names Tabs?

Tabs · 15/08/2005 12:37

I may as well, as I revealed them to sweetkitty (from Jan thread) last week due to an uncanny similarity in our choices!

If it's a boy we are quite set on Elliot, although haven't chosen a middle name yet.

If it's a girl, our front runner is Imogen, although we are also considering Francesca, Georgina, Philippa, Violet, Daniella and Dorothy. Middle name will be Rose.

Our favourite girls name is actually Amelia, although sadly an abbreviated form doesn't work with our surname, and with the middle name too her initials would be ARS, so thought we'd better not use it!!

We love Jacob too Chloe, and it is a possible middle name, but DH has a cousin who has called his son this, so we are a little reluctant to go with it.

chloe55 · 15/08/2005 12:47

I love Rose, I wanted to go with Rose as a first name but DH isn't keen. We were thinking of Kate as a middle name. Our names have to fairly short and sweet as our surname is a bit unusual. Just worked out initials for a girl and they seem ok. My poor mother was a PMS until she married!

Tabs · 15/08/2005 12:52

Oh your poor mum! Hope she didn't marry someone with a surname beginning T instead!!

Rose was my nan's name, so a bit of sentimentality creeping into that choice. Our surname is only 1 syllable, hence us going for rather longer first names!

popmum · 15/08/2005 13:00

Afternoon - anyone else feel very 'inbetween' at the mo? I have stopped feeling sick and very tired all the time, and am now just awaiting the bump. Scan was all ok, but still i can't help worrying whether it is all ok in there. Had felt a few flutters a week or so ago but nothing for a while, but think uterus is probably just moving around a bit. Am not showing at all though all my flab (errrr) has been pushed forward and sticks out.
I want a bump!!
Anyone else feel like this?

TicTac · 15/08/2005 13:08

Hi All,

Chloe - My 4D scan is on the 12th Septmber, I will not be back from our trip until the 16th of September but I will deff have internet access while I am over there. I know where the best internet cafe is in New York so I will certainly be giving a post from NYC and then I hope from Toronto after my scan. So you will be getting lots of mail from across the seas!

NAMES: Well we are set on our boys name and for sentimental reasons...Dylan (I was called Dylan until I was born!) Alan (My dad, the most amazing dad in the world!!). And then for a girl there are a few in the running they are:
Daisy (current fav)
Poppy
Zabrina
Harriet
Girls middle name will be Emma (was my Nans middle name)

OP posts:
chloe55 · 15/08/2005 13:15

I like Daisy and Poppy but DH is such a boring fart when it comes to names - he is quite the traditionalist, I'm surprised he has agreed with Georgia.

Just had to tell you all that I have started reading Jools Oliver 'Minus Nine To One' and it is so funny. I have only read the first chapter and it is like reading my past history, I love it when you can relate to a story.

Tabs · 15/08/2005 13:18

popmum - I feel exactly like that! Really would love another scan now just to see that all is still progressing fine, but have ages to wait until next one! I think my flab may be changing shape slightly, but it's so hard to tell with it all in the way!!

TicTac - we love Dylan too, but it's the name of one of DH's best friends, so ruled out for that reason.

Harriet would have been on our list but for the fact that there's one in family already. You also have the name that my overdue friend is giving her baby in your list, but I'm not even supposed to know what that is, so can't let on until it's official!!

TicTac · 15/08/2005 13:24

Hi Chloe... I have read the Jools Oliver book and it stays funny all the way through... I am sure you will love it!

OP posts:
TicTac · 15/08/2005 13:29

I have enjoyed the name thing more then anything so far! Although it was no effort for the boys name. Unlike Tabs, we don't really have any friends and family who have inspiring names so no need to preclude anything

Popmum.. I feel the same. I have done 4 days with no sick but now feeling unsure that everything is progressing as it should. I dont have my 20 weeks scan for 7 weeks because the hospital are so busy, they can't fit me in at 20 weeks. I do have the 4D scan in 4 weeks though!

OP posts:
popmum · 15/08/2005 14:23

Soooooo glad some of you feel the same. Am sure in a couple of weeks we will all be complaining about feeling fat and not fitting into clothes.
can't remember when I started to show last time and anyway I think it will be different this time.

chloe55 · 15/08/2005 14:38

I looked very pregnant for a couple of weeks but I think most of that must have been bloatedness coz I am no longer rounded but look more fat! I am showing but underneath the flab like you say so could easily just pass as having gained a stone of fat. I'm gutted now though coz the clothes don't fit but still feel a bit weird buying maternity clothes so have just been buying the next size up instead.
