Morning

Not me chulita

With the shaving, a friend who is a training mw said they tend to do it anyway unless it is all gone iyswim? They used an electric strimmer shaver and just took the top half off.

Feeling quite good atm, got 12weeks 2days til due date and have put on 1st4lbs so far. My bump doesn't seem to have gotten any bigger for weeks, just tighter and harder!

Still feeling fat and frumpy looks wise though. You feel really limited when pg don't you? Comfort really must come first.

starshaker · 15/05/2010 09:03

Just a random thought on the lady garden subject. I think they should have a trained beauty therapist there. If your getting an epidural for the section anyway why not get a bikini wax at the same time. No pain (since your numb anyway). Could become a trend

Alicetheinvisible · 15/05/2010 09:44

I did mention it!

CherryPie3 · 15/05/2010 09:57

Morning

HAPPY WEDDING DAY LCR!!!!! Hope the sunshine stays out for you today

Had a miserable night last night and am thoroughly knackered today, although not as much as chulita. Hope those results don't take too long hun

Alicetheinvisible · 15/05/2010 10:00

Oh yes, Happy Wedding Day!!!!!

CazEM · 15/05/2010 10:23

Morning!

Wishing LCR a wonderful day!

Poor DH, I had the full on weepies last night, he didn't know what to do with me! So he just cuddled me till I'd cried it all out and then fell asleep on him! (9pm) - I couldn't even tell you what I really crying about!! Everything but nothing I suppose!! This pregnancy malarky is madness! Haha! Feeling fine today, much less tired - all I needed was a good nights sleep and a little lie in! Not long got up - just thought I'd pop on here while deciding what to wear today!

My house is a shocking mess. Going to take down the washing I did days ago (how lazy am I!!) and fold it up, put all the clothes away (I've given up on ironing, we do the creased look now! Lol!) and then do all this weeks washing and sort out the kitchen. I can't motivate myself to do the bathroom today, although it is getting pretty desperate in there!

Mission attick will be starting shortly so I should really get in the shower and be dressed before my S-FIL arrives!

Have a good day everyone!

CherryPie3 · 15/05/2010 10:31

Morning CazEm - I know what you mean about the crying! Last night I found myself crying at The Little Mermaid in ds's room

It was just such a happy ending

Good luck with Mission Attic!!!

Good Morning to you too Alice

Whats everyone got planned for today? My car's just been delivered back to me from the repairers so it's all lovely and fixed again . Gonna take it for a drive in a bit I think with the kids.

Bye for now xxx

weehector · 15/05/2010 11:07

Really good luck for today LCR...the start of a fab couple of months for you!

cazem why would you bother cleaning up when mission attic is just about to start? Surely better to save the cleaning for when there's plaster dust, etc to be wiped down? I'd say put the washing away and make yourself useful by being tea monitor. Nobody expects a 6 month preggers woman to actually help with DIY stuff but they will love you for tea & biccies..

I've had an eventful 24 hrs. First, I discover that someone's been fraudulently using my credit card online (big up for egg for noticing & stopping), then I come home for a relaxing weekend and end up having to call 999 last night for an ambulance when my aunt ( my mum basically) took a dive down some stairs, banged her head and knocked herself unconscious for a bit. All ok now - and a bit in love with DH for how he handled the situation whilst I did the easy onthephone bit - but pretty stressful for an hour or so last night..the baby was going nuts with the adrenaline.

CazEM · 15/05/2010 12:05

weehector - sorry to hear about your Aunt. Glad to hear she is ok now! And yay for Egg noticing your card was being used in an unusual way!

Yay also for your car Cherry

I got as far as taking the washing down and showering before my S-FIL arrived. House (downstairs anyway) look a little more presentable now, but your right weehector it will probably have been a complete waste of time by the end of today! Nevermind, makes me feel better about the place for a bit! I will defo be on tea/coffee duties for most of the day now! Will have to pop to Asda and get some stuff in for lunch/tea too in a bit!

With a bit of luck all the boards will go down this weekend and then I can completely empty my babys room and buy lovely little tester pots and decide on which shade of pink I'd like to paint it! Ooo feel like somethings actually happening for her today now! Can't wait to get on with the nursery! :D

CazEM · 15/05/2010 14:02

My brother and his gf are home for the weekend! (He lives in Leciester now) Really excited/looking forward to seeing them later because I haven't seen them since my birthday at the start of March! Little gathering at mine tonight now, just got the pizza's etc in to cook!

Watch out for funny videos on FB later as we're sure to play "You're in the Movies" on the Xbox! Haha!

LizzieA · 15/05/2010 17:22

I've been for a 4d scan today, had a cry when I saw my little man! Pics on my profile.

CherryPie3 · 15/05/2010 19:08

Lizzie Those pictures are adorable - bless him having his legs crossed and his cute little toes .

Makes it real doesn't it?? He's a proper little person!!

OP posts:
Chulita · 15/05/2010 21:24

lizzie those pics are so cute! I'm quite jealous

I picked up our moses basket today here from the ebay lady, £15 with a rocking stand and she'd not used it because her little boy hated it. Hee hee! I love a bargain

LCR good luck! I hope you had a fantastic day!

Sorry alice, not you then...

sorry for not catching up with everyone, I need to go to sleep.

Aussieng · 15/05/2010 22:12

'Twas I, Chulita. Thank you

Too tired to post more - DH brought his snores home with him.

Congrats LCR

vix206 · 16/05/2010 10:51

Hi everyone, sorry I absconded for a couple of weeks - I've had a nasty cold (now a chesty cough and sore throat) and have basically been really busy. I've been reading the thread every few days though just never had time to post! Congrats to LCR and I hope you had a wonderful day

We went to our Mindful Mamma workshop yesterday (details here: www.mindfulmamma.co.uk/mindful-mamma

It was so inspiring and I am now totally 100% convinced (as is DH) on a homebirth with some hypnobirthing techniques. Can't wait!!

Our house just isn't selling, we've got 13 weeks until baby arrives and not even a hint of an offer, so I have had to accept that we are stuck here now until after the baby has arrived. Really upset about it as it means we can't create the nursery we want and can't be near our family, but there is nothing we can do other than accept it. So we will make the best of it.

Will go and buy a cot over the next few weeks, already sorted out a gorgeous Danish 1950's rocking chair thanks to eBay, and some lovely pictures for the baby's room - so even though we won't have THE nursery we will have a nice one with nice things in it. When we move (which I hope will still be this year) we can go to town on it.

A bit (but in a nice way) of those having 4D scans. Your pics are gorgeous and I bet you'll really treasure them DH won't entertain the idea as he thinks scans should only be for medical reasons and doesn't trust the private firms so much with their equipment etc. I can see his point but think he is being a bit over-protective, however I totally respect his wishes (he so rarely puts his foot down on ANYTHING so when he does I know he really feels strongly) so will be giving it a miss. Thinking of booking in for a 'bump' photoshoot next month though have found somewhere fairly local that looks lovely and is only £50 for 10 photos which seems reasonable.

Anyway, I think that's more or less all I've been up to - hope you are all well and healthy - there are a few of us with colds and bugs at the moment.

RachelParker · 16/05/2010 13:46

Hello... I'm due on August 5th, I think I'm a bit late to join this thread ...but better late than never?!

Chulita · 16/05/2010 14:17

Ah, aussie I tried to have a look back to see who it was but got bored a bit too quickly Not easy to decide on slings though, there's so many!

Hi rachel, never too late If you put your age/location/baby gender and due date cherry can add you to our list.

vix sorry you won't be able to do the nursery up the way you want it. On the plus side you'll be able to do one once you move and your LO will enjoy it more. Cos we live in rented acc and move so much our rooms just have to stay cream coloured and soooooo boring, I'd love to make DD's room a bit more girly but I have to content myself with wall stickers and a colourful rug!

Must go and get DD, she's finally woken up!

weehector · 16/05/2010 14:42

Hola Rachel Never too late to join...chat is usually a combo of food decisions, pregnancy niggles & baby purchases. All very high brow.

Vix yay for your rocking chair, hope it goes some way to making up for your house disappointment. It would obviously have been perfect to move but now you can focus on you & the baby for the last trimester instead of running yourself ragged trying to get everything just so. My own Danish rocking chair came back from the upholsterers this week - I love it, its so simple & elegant, and I love it more now for being told that it would fetch at least £1000!! Think I love it even more than the chair of my dreams that I saw in NZ last year... this one.

We don't have Sky because we can't get a signal in our house (we're in the lea of a massive hill & don't even get Freeview yet) so its been a revelation being at my parents' house this weekend and catching a couple of episodes of Portland Babies. I think I've been in denial about actually having to go through labour - I've just been swotting up on the sections in Miriam Stoppard's book emotionlessly like I was studying for an exam. I know all about pre labour, early labour, pain relief options, transition, etc but its been a bit of a shock to see video footage. Suddenly, an epidural seems like a fantastic idea even though it goes against every thought I've had previously. No more programmes for me - time to buy the hypnobirthing book I think.

Have had a couple of quiet baby days recently but Baby Weehector is going nuts today - think he feels a bit bigger too. He's timed it well because I have the MW tomorrow - hoping to be measured for the first time so no doubt will be back asking what's normal tomorrow night.

kcoffin27 · 16/05/2010 15:12

Sorry i havent answered anyone back personly, but thanks for all the helpful comments ref bf. I think I will just see how I feel at the time, I have brought a manual breast pump (which was only £10), and i will also buy some sma baby milk incase I cant get on with bf.

Not been on in a few days as have revision t do, exams start tomorrow

Hope everyone is well
The ladygarden stories made me chuckle

Spent the whole day yesterday sorting out the baby's room looks much better with drwaers and the cot put up. Put all the clothes away and now discovered that the baby has a better wardrobe than me

Aussieng · 16/05/2010 15:55

Hello everyone - DH has headed back to his training course so I am on my lonesome again. One of the neighbours finally plucked up the courage to ask me if I am pg last week apparently I have been quite the source of gossip amount the houses down our little private driveway. But she was lovely and said if anything happens while Dh is away just to knock (even in the middle of the night) as she is quite happy to bundle the kids in the car etc - which was lovely of her.

DH finally got the nursery cleard out this weekend while he was home so I am going to paint it next week and I've ordered some alphabet and number stickers for the walls and a cute border which I think I can match to bedding. We also go all our bedding plants in the garden and there are some definite signs that the grass is strarting to regrow where the chickees had destroyed it so I'm feeling very hopeful. Now fingers crossed that we get the nursery furniture at the baby show next weekend.

Welcome Rachel- Aug 5th is a great day for a birthday (it's mine!) It's a good time to join - we're just getting to the important bit! Is this your first>

Chulita it's all a nightmare - there's almost nothing that I'm buying (sling, breast pump, cot etc) where I don't feel like I need a back up option too!!!

vix206 · 16/05/2010 16:16

Lovely chair weehector! This is the one we are getting, it will be delivered Tuesday:

twitpic.com/1n021g

won it for £230 which is less than half of what we were willing to pay for it so well chuffed It has been re-upholstered by a restoration specialist so only the frame is original but it has been done v authentically so we get the best of both worlds IYSWIM.

Been so inspired by nursery designs on flickr but its just pointless doing too much here when we know we aren't staying so will just have to keep it basic. Let's be positive, it will be one less thing we have to get done before baby arrives!

RachelParker · 16/05/2010 17:33

Hi everyone,

Wow, it sounds like you're a lot more prepped with baby things, we're moving in to a new flat at the beginning of July so I don't feel I can buy much until then; a rocking chair seems like a lovely idea - so i'll add it to my shopping list

Aussieng - yes this is my first, I'm an August birthday too (12th)

Did anyone else get a "breast feeding dvd" from the mid-wife, I just watched mine and it recommends bf the baby until they are 2... seems a bit excessive? I thought 6/8 months would be long enough?

Here are my details for the list:

26/london (wandsworth)/girl due on 5th August,

cazzybabs · 16/05/2010 17:42

Lizzie - your 4D photos are much better than mine...The cord was right up near its face so it affected the shape of the face. Plus all its fluid was at the bottom and so the sound waves could bounce off as well... but it was amazing when it did decide to move! We saw it with its eyes open and moving its hands

But dp (who I am seriously cross/upset with) rearranged a flight to clash with the scan and so missed it.

cazzybabs · 16/05/2010 17:45

BTW photos on facebook

cazzybabs · 16/05/2010 17:47

ALSO RachelParker - I breastfeed mine till they were 2...not all the time...as they got older it was more like once in the morning and before bed

WHO guidelines are to breastfeed till 2 - although partly this is because of women in developing countries.
