We really are getting through a thread a month lol!!

Cherry can you explain how I join the facebook group? I'm seem to have been lost because of my busyness - but that's all to end soon so I'd like to reintegrate myself!!!

I'm not very technical with fb but I just read MrsZaC's last post and she says if you add here as a friend, tag a message on saying you are from MN, then she can invite you to the group.

I think.

Did I mention that I hate facebook? TBH I hardly ever use it other than I exchange emails on there with two of my friends rather than just using normal email addresses for some reason. Logged in last weekend to join the Aug 2010 MN group and immediately got caught up in a "row" between my mum and her sister when I mentioned to my mum that my aunt had added my dad as a friend on FB (mum and dad are divorced and not exactly pals!)

Then had a totally bizarre exchange over the chat function (which I hate) with my Dad on Friday night about car insurance and his pet chipmonk (which I didn't know he had so was somewhat confused about the turn the conversation was taking) drowning in the toilet that day.

Now just had one of my friends suggest that her daughter and I be friends on FB which I felt obligated to accept. It's fine the daughter is 18 and a nice girl but my "friend" and I have not spoken in over a year, I was not invited to her birthday party in Jan (because I think she is annoyed that I did not send her kids birthday money last year - long story) and there was loads of stuff on there about what a great time she had at my ex-husbands wedding in April (even though she thinks he is wierd, anti-social and can't stand his new wife). Aaaaaargh!

Aussie How do you cope with so much drama? . I reckon I would be near breaking point with all that to deal with!! Hats off to you!

And I too am very intrigued by what is taking up so much of Pamples MN time!!!

Hi Cherry glad baby is staying put!

Aussie if you click on the chat box and options, you can turn your chat off, so it never says you are online. Thats what i do, as everytime i go on for a quick catch up, some random pops up wanting to chat and i haven't got the time or inclination to bother!

Just got some maternity bras from M&S, they look much better than the ones i got last time. Haven't tried them on yet (difficult with a toddler in tow!)

aussie tbh I hate fb, never, ever have the chat function on because this one person always wants to 'chat' but we have nothing to say. The only reason I'm on it is cos I went to a boarding school abroad and all my school friends live in the US (I didn't go to school in the US btw). I love all of them and fb is the best way to keep up with them. I'd bin it in an instant if there was a better way to keep up!

Just got our sofa swapped to the one we actually ordered but of course...I prefer the one that's just been taken away I'm probably just being hormonal though and will get used to this one!

hello ladies.

does anyone else feel like time is just slipping away and before you know it the baby or in stars case babies will be here? I am so unorganised its driving me potty, but with both of us working so many hours and looking after DD nothing ever gets done

I need a week off just to sort the house out.

Maybe if I have some chocolate it will calm me down, although with my GTT next wednesday I am not sure that is a good idea

Coffee Last week (26weeks, same due date as you i think) i was miserable. I felt i had been pg forever and still had forever to go... but this week i am a bit at i only have 12 and half weeks left!

LOL - it's how you get off the chat function without looking rude once you have got past the "hi, how are you" "fine" bit without saying you have to go and then being forced to log off FB entirely without having managed to complete your email!

Cherry - my mum has 2 sisters, 2/3 divorced (the one who isn't has even more issues). My dad has 5 brothers - all divorced (three of them twice). My dad is now living with one of his brother's ex wives (who shakes like a leaf whenever I go to visit). One brother killed his brother in law many years ago, I have two heroin addict cousins with all sorts of child custody issues and all the things which can go along with that... that is just the stuff I am prepared to mention given that I'm on FB so you know who I am!!!

Mum always says that we have a "Catherine Cookson" family. I think Catherine Cookson books are more believable than my family! My friends always say that my family life is never dull - except for me and DH! I'm amazingly normal, all things considered

WRT FB, i have a lot of my family on there, but their posts really wind me up so i hide them, so that means they are not aware of it and i don't have to read their illiterate goings on

My lovely gran is afraid to die - the only thing that will bring the family all together in one room is her funeral! Doesn't bear thinking about!

24 wks today! yippee, I've got my first hypnobirthing session tonight, quite nervous!

Don't know if I told you ladies, can't quite remember but I ended up buying the silvercross sleepover on Saturday it was touch and go wether we got it in the car and we have an A4!!! but I got there, I managed to fit it in with 2 rolling suitcases, a hold all bag and a makeup bag, where there is a will there is a way! Going to view a 2nd hand mamas and papas savannah cot & wardrobe on Sunday, fingers crossed it's in good condition

So glad to hear that you're ok Cherry, phew. And hope your DH is going to be ok Caz, must be such a worry.

I've been offline a lot as we're looking to move (I know, I know, we must be mad). Have had an offer accepted we're trying to push everything through to get in before baby arrives.

It's our perfect family home so we're just having to take a deep breath and dive in - means I probably won't be checking in as much here though.

Oh for it to be that interesting ladies....
I'd love to say it was my sex life, but unfortunately it's the small matter of having written 45k words over the last six weeks or so (hand in Monday, yay!).... then have the big presentation, then a nice easy six weeks before my maternity leave, yay! Thanks Mrs Zac...... xxxx

Had my GTT this morning plus 28 wk bloods plus anti d so a busy morning! Lucozade is truly vile and is not what I would recommend on an empty stomach..

My tummy is measuring 31 even though am only 28 wks so guess this baby will be a big un again.

caz when I was having neurological symptoms and couldn't get the gp to listen I eventually ended up paying for a private apt with a neurologist who also does NHS apts.

You only had to go once then they can add you to their nhs list. Anyway it was worth it for the piece of mind and moves you up the process a little bit.

Anyway started with my M.S. symptoms 10 yrs ago and got definitive diagnosis 6 yrs ago so am well used to seeing neurologists now- not same symptoms as your dh before I scare you btw.Just same kind of tests that you describe.

aussie I know what you mean about fb- don't really want to join mn group on there no offence to anyone- I sometimes like the chat function but usually switch on fb in the morning while I'm doing a million other things so have probably offended lots of people by 'ignoring' them.

Think it was mrszac (?) asking about sterilsers. we have avent microwave steriliser it's great- I know my sil has the tommee tippee one which she likes but it won't fit avent bottles so not all sterilsers fit all bottles iyswim. Have only ever put avent or boots ones in ours.

MrsZaC Thats is impressive that you got all that in!! It is a lovely pram tho, I found out that my cousin has it, her baby was born in August '09 and she's still using it!!

Aussie at CC family also. Like you said tho, at least there'll never be a dull moment! I sometimes think that with my family on a bad day but I suppose they're ok really. Just little things that do my head in with them (like their allergies to working . Another matter entirely tho..

coffeelady and alice I'm thinking lets get the next 11 weeks over with already . Am thoroughly fed up of seeing the hospital and the amount of money I feed to their parking meter!! At least when baby is here the mw's come to you!! . We have a cot and a pram and some clothes so we could have a baby in theory (apart from it being ridiculously early of course )

Just had a micro-pot tikka and rice for lunch and now I'm sooooo full!! But I just needed to have a snickers afterwards . Yum!

It took the mw 3 tires to get blood first go, then had the horrible sugar drink and 2 hours later mw go blood first try. Feel like a pin cushion now though I was absolutly starving after that so treated myself to a burger king

girlsyearapart my tummy is also measuring bigger than what I am. im 28 weeks and measure 29, so not a very big differnce for me though.

GYA You had lucozade at your GTT?? I got the most disusting syrupy drink ever, so thick I had to drink water afterwards to wash it down! Vile!!

With you measuring 31wks, is it possible you may have lots of water?

cherry I also had that same syrupy drink, it was disgusteing. I just gulped it down followed by water.

I was measuring 29wks last week at my 28wk check too kcoffin.
It's horrid when they have to pinprick you several times to get blood isn't it? . I don't have very good veins either so they normally have to dig around for one.

yeah it make you even more worried about going for blood tests. My veins are so tiny anyway but its funny how when I go for a blood test they seem to disappear altogether

I thought i was going to pass out, I got all hot and my head started to spin, I felt so silly over a little needle

Mw also told me that i have put on almost all of prenancy weight already

How rude of your mw to point that out!! And I think I'll join you cos even though I haven't been weighed since booking in, I'm pretty sure I've put a fair bit on - I usually do!

With the blood tests, I've had to re-take a couple of tests because the mw/phlebotomist hasn't taken enough blood the first time around! It's so frustrating!

I hadn't been weighed since booking either, but on my scales I have only put on 10 pounds, I didnt think that was too much

I hate it when they make mistakes like that, in last pregnancy I did the blods, then got a phone call to do them again as they had labelled them wrong!

After we have all had our babies we should start a thread for us all to give each other support in losing the weight

Im hoping to bf this time (i've never done it before) but I want to express and bottle feed as Im too shy to feed straight from breast, even at home with the boys there! Do you think that is a bad idea, or will it work?
