Oh Elsa! Pls keep us posted.

My mw I can never get hold of either. Pointless them having mobiles cos they are too busy to answer them.

I am still stressed. About something else this time. Again other peoples actions causing me stress. Am trying to relax and shift this knot in my tum. Am worried my stressing is not good for baby and that is making me worse! Any tips!?

Xavielli · 02/06/2010 10:02

Nymph - hope your stay in hospital is short and they get your meds sorted so you can enjoy the only 4 weeks in pregnancy that aren't hard work!

Silversky - tummy bugs are awful, I hope you feel better today.

Else - try to stay calm, if you have felt baby moving it's a good sign. I forget where exactly you are (bucks?) does your local maternity unit have a day assessment unit? Banbury does and it would be the best way to get to a midwife and scanned asap to put your mind at rest. I try not to bother with doctors when pregnant as I always seem to get palmed off on a locum and feel much safer with midwives. I too am shocked that they didn't tell you to get to hospital last night.

AbFab - Yay @ 5 weeks off, jury duty sounds exciting; I'd love to do it.

I seem to be sleeping fine at the moment, not peeing too much, not too hungry, not too thirsty and baby is re-enacting The Karate Kid in there so, sorry to all you suffering, but I feel FANTASTIC

Elsa123 · 02/06/2010 10:12

Good for you Xav! Thank you all for your messages- Had worked myself up, texted my sister who rang me straight away and made me feel loads better. Leaving for the GPs in 15 mins. x x x x x

shieldbug · 02/06/2010 10:14

elsa good luck at the gp today. Sending you hugs. An accident is awful at any time, but extra worrying right now. Hope everything is fine.

Silver I had a stomach bug last week and it took ages to stop feeling pains in my abdomen (really only gone away today). I think maybe these things hit harder in pg as I hardly ever get stomach bugs, even when those around me are afflicted. Like you, I called the mw and was told there was no need to worry as long as I drank lots of fluids and took it easy.

nymph Thinking of you today and hope you don't have to stay long. Even though you don't like hospitals (understandably), I guess it will be worth it if it sorts out some of the problems you've been having. At least they are keeping a careful eye on you rather than just sending you away with new meds. Fingers crossed all goes well.

On a different note, all was well at the scan. Yippee! There still enough room in there despite the fibroids and sproglet was kicking away in protest at the scanner. What was even better was I could feel it at the same time, so now I know for sure what a kick feels like. After that, I could feel it kicking away on a regular basis all afternoon. The sex is still a surprise; we weren't even given the option to find out.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 02/06/2010 10:15

Elsa, you'll be at GP by now.I hope he/she tells you to go to the maternity unit for monitoring. We were rear-ended when I was 8 months pg with DS1 and midwife said go straight in. My blood pressure had dropped very low and they hooked me up to a monitor for an hour or so. Once they saw baby was fine, they let me home. I am astounded the ambulance crew let you go. I'm sure it'll all be fine, though.

tiredfeet · 02/06/2010 10:18

Oh Elsa I am so sorry to hear that. It must be hugely worrying. That said, I went to a talk at the hospital last night and they showed a picture of someone who had been in a horrible crash whilst pregnant and their baby was fine despite really really severe bruising to the tummy. Of course you must go the the GP and get checked out and of course you will be worried, but if baby is moving then it sounds positive, and I think if the ambulance crew were concerned they would have taken you in - they do tend to err on the side of caution normally. I really hope the doctor is able to reassure you today. I hope all the police stuff gets resolved too, hopefully when they have investigated they will realise your story checks out. If it is a nasty junction then they should appreciate that the lady could have come round a bend out of nowhere, and she should have driven round the corner at a speed which was appropriate. Will be thinking of you.

nymph I will be thinking of you too today, I hope your stay in hospital helps things improve, if so it will be worth a day or so of misery/ boredom

on a lighter note, at the hospital's information evening last night the physio got everyone in the room (about 40 couples) doing pelvic floor exercises, it was very bizarre .

Tyson86 · 02/06/2010 10:43

Good luck at the GP's Elsa hope everything is fine.

mamjo · 02/06/2010 12:04

Hope everything is ok at the GPs this morning Elsa make sure they answer all your questions and put your mind at rest.

Nymph please try to relax about the hospital stay. It won't be as bad as you are building it up to be (I know this is easier said than done) try and use the time to catch up with some Reading, and take scrummy food to indulge in.

I have also been up most of the night having horrible chest pains and then when I got up this morning I had a horrid nose bleed and dizzy spell. I have been to the doctors who just said it is a viral infection and to go home and rest and drink lots. So here I am, at home on a Wednesday afternoon fighting the guilt that I am not at work and trying not to make use of the time and clean the house.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 02/06/2010 13:15

mamjo, you are ill. Don't clean the house! Put your feet up and have some ribena.

nymphadora · 02/06/2010 13:47

elsa hope you got on alright and hoping you got a scan , just for reassurance and to see baby again!

mamjo REST - its nice to say that to someone rather than hear it

Back from the hospital. Had loads of BP checks & pulse. BP all over & pulse high (110 resting at two attempts!).Going back Friday for the day (hopefully out when my kids get back) and the consultant will see BP results and is checking out alternative meds.So nowhere near as bad as I imagined.

tiredfeet · 02/06/2010 14:13

glad it went ok nymph, much better that it wasn't as bad as you imagined

I'm sat in the garden pretending to work but really just enjoying the sunshine. Really really hoping it stays like this for our holiday next week... hope you all have sunshine too

floozietoozie · 02/06/2010 15:12

Just got my longer amnio results back. All fine!!!!

Mamjo, DON'T you dare clean! You rest.

Abfab, if you've got fantastic stomach muscles we're definitely not the same person but I'll take them if they're on offer!

floozietoozie · 02/06/2010 15:16

Xposts, glad it was quick nymph. Good luck for Friday now.

Elsa, hope you are feeling a bit bettr and got reassurance from the doc. How awful for you. Contact an assessment unit if you're still worried. Hugs.

Hermya321 · 02/06/2010 15:40

nymph glad it went ok.

Too hot in the garden for me & I just get tempted to snail hunt

Am watering in stages while dh takes out the pond but neither of us have any energy so alternating with episodes of Medium.

Tyson86 · 02/06/2010 18:44

Glad it went ok Nymph

Been to Open Mead Farm today with dh and ds and it was great, just wandering as slowly as a toddler is quite knackering.
Got a very happy tot at the moment.

AbFabT · 02/06/2010 18:57

Oww, Elsa - nasty! Am sure you're fine though, but it's still unpleasant.

nymph, glad it wasn't so bad!

floozie, I'm not saying I have good abs, just that it's makes me feel marginally better to think that I do, about not feeling much movement!

My new nursing chair has arrived! But it's in pieces and needs assembling, how annoying!

AbFabT · 02/06/2010 18:58

P.S. floozie, and great news re the amnio results!

Apphia · 02/06/2010 19:22

Evening!

I've been a long time lurker up until now but having had my scan last week ready feel to say hello

Due 5th of October just in time for my 30th birthday on the 10th!

Currently on the hunt for a (decent looking) nursing chair but struggling. AbFab do you mind me asking what you have gone for?

Apphia · 02/06/2010 19:29

Re nursery chair do you think an Eames Rocker would be far too impractical/uncomfortable/extravagent? Very tempted and actually quite reasonable compared to other chairs!

SilverSky · 02/06/2010 20:14

bugs thank you! Mine seems to have gone as quickly as it arrived. Who knows. Have been feeling lots of bubbles today so think it's prob good sign that our little person is a ok.

elsa please post as am concerned as we have not heard from yoooooooooou!

Hermya321 · 02/06/2010 20:23

Oh my gosh! I have had the most horrid day, some people are horrible and awful. I can't believe it! Well I'm at home now and celebrating anniversary with Dh so it's all good now.

Hermya - ya boo sucks to the horrible people and you have a lovely anniversary celebration with your hubby. You've got your two most important people in the room
with you and they're all who matter.

Welcome Apphia nice to have you on board. Congrats on the good scan.

Abfab, still early to feel much with your first. But you have had the kicks so that's great. I'm curious about your nursing chair too. There was a great one in the bfing room in the special care unit ds was in.

I posted my news up on facebook today and have had a tear in my eye from all the lovely messages. Like Xav, I feel pretty fantastic too right now. It's a beautiful warm evening and I'm sitting in my mother's garden with the scent of lovely plants in the air.
