Floozie Thank you, I'm so glad to hear about your news. It's so brilliant. I'm glad your LO is fine.

Welcome Apphia!!

Oh my god I've just read about those shootings. That is absolutely horrific. Those poor, poor people.

AbFabT · 02/06/2010 22:03

Welcome, Apphia. How lovely to have a baby in time for your 30th!

Of course - happy to blether away about my new reclining, swivelling, rocking, gliding chair! DH got home and assembled it this evening, so I am sat in it right now! It is glorious!

It is this one: www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_100835_10001?cm_vc=UnpublishedP roductAlternative (although the brand on the box is different, but it's the same one!). I love it! It's wipeable fabric too, so no stress about puke or poo or wee! :-) And it comes with a little footstool that also rocks! I tried it at the Baby Show - think it's hard to judge something like this online, but it has my approval if that's helpful!

Is this your Eames Rocker: www.thelollipopshoppe.co.uk/products?product_category=1&product_id=229&gclid=COPJj8elgqICFUE43godV15 YFg - looks nice, but not that comfortable.

I was dreaming of this for a while - always wanted one! - www.vivahomestore.co.uk/revolving-sphere-chair/default.aspx?istCompanyId=c99ced69-d4ea-4329-94a3-c43 c2a953175&istItemId=xqwmpm&istBid=t

Thanks re the reassurance re my lack of feeling, floozie. I shall be patient!

Happy Anniversary, Hermya.

Apphia · 02/06/2010 22:25

Happy anniversary Hermya! Hope you
and your DH have had a lovely evening.

Your new chair looks super comfy AbFab! Much better than my (dream) rocker but at least tried to kid myself for a short while Yes that is the very one.

Love the look of the revolving sphere chair -though even with the 10% still probably a little excessive for a nursery item! How lucky our DHs are to have such practical wives

AbFabT · 02/06/2010 23:33

It is lovely and comfy, and I like rocking!

Ha ha, the sphere chair is crazily overpriced! There are cheaper versions about, but still not that practical and currently we don't have the space to be frivolous.

nymphadora · 03/06/2010 07:29

Hermya I thought of you yesterday, must have been a hectic one all over. I emailed work yesterday and had had loads of work ones about staff to stay inside all visits cancelled etc.

Apphia Welcome!

mamjo · 03/06/2010 08:19

hermya I hope you had a lovely anniversary!!

Those chairs look great ladies and not something I had even begun to think of yet.

I slept pretty much 18 hours yesterday an am feeling a little better today but think I am going to give myself another day off anyway. Thanks for the messages to rest yesterday it really did help to get "permission".

I have been panicking all this time that I am not sure I can feel the baby move but was feeling something like bubbles. Now I am panicking because I am not even feeling the bubbles! Roll on Monday for my scan so I can put my mind at rest!!

Have a good day everyone!!!

SilverSky · 03/06/2010 08:38

mamjo I feel the odd bubble travelling across and have been experiencing them more frequently. Except the other day when i was poorly. Have decided these bubbles are the baby. Last night and this am it has felt like a gentle push outwards, so who knows!

Anyone heard from elsa or have I just missed her post?

Really awful about the shootings. Utter tragedy. Sadly we may never know the true reason and even sadder still is that the guy killed and has critically injured innocent people. Those that are lucky to survive will never be the same ever again. Traumatised potentially for life.

NinthWave · 03/06/2010 09:22

Our glider chair was definitely the best piece of nursery furniture we bought first time round - DS will be 3 in August and we still use it every evening to sit and have cuddles/stories. He calls it the rock-rock chair

We'll be moving it into our room when the new baby arrives so I can BF in comfort in it! Not sure how DS1 will feel about that, I think I'll have to bribe him with a big squashy beanbag

AbFabT · 03/06/2010 09:40

I hadn't thought about the glider chair but we saw it at the Baby Show the other weekend, an snapped it up. Also bought a beanbag!

nymphadora · 03/06/2010 09:51

Really need a new thread now it's taking ages to load on my phone

just sticking my head in to tentatively say I'm starting to feel better. I walked up & downstairs today& last night without having to sit for 10 mins to recover & managed short Potters in the garden. Might really push the boat out & walk to town(300m) but will take someone to carry the shopping.

Apphia · 03/06/2010 10:06

Pleased you're feeling a little better Nymphadora, tis a very sunny day so hope you can get out and about to enjoy it!

Seriously going to look into glider chairs now - I can always have the Eames in OUR bedroom. Perhaps as a well done for carrying DHs child!

I hit up the Baby Show as well. In a single hour I managed to snap up a cot, travel system and high chair (which isn't really needed yet but I was on a bargaining roll)

Needless to say I'm quite enjoying the shopping opportunities having a baby affords

Reusable nappies are the next on the list - not quite as glamorous

AbFabT · 03/06/2010 10:58

When we start a new thread, can we create a new post of the stats list too, rather than scroll on that? Apphia, have you added yourself to the stats list?

Glad you are feeling better, nymph.

There were great bargains, weren't there, Apphia. I am already planning on going to the London one (baby will be about three weeks old if arriving on time, and no doubt I will be knackered!), so we are going to get some more bargains then. I've seen the highchair I want, DH thinks we don't need one yet though, and shouldn't until several months after the birth when baby is weaning.
Let us know how you get on with the reusable nappy research. I'm thinking of saving that for the show too, so we can get a really good look and feel of what we are getting. I am sure there are some glamorous ones about!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 03/06/2010 11:00

Apphia, some resusables are very glam doncha know. You can get some lovely zebra/tigers prints and flowers/cars/trains.

NinthWave · 03/06/2010 11:15

I dug out a big bag of reusables at the weekend - DS and I spent a happy hour or two putting them on various teddies Mostly prefold terry nappies and wraps, with some lovely bright fleecy ones in there. And a leopardprint one!

I am hoping there have been some big advances in reusable technology over the past 3 years though - I never did manage to stop DS from soaking through within an hour...

SilverSky · 03/06/2010 11:20

As our little person is due smack bang in the middle of the London one ( if I am remembering the dates correctly ) it's prob a bit unwise to venture so far from home when so heavily preggo. Or on the other hand might be the perfect opportunity to test drive birthing pools and stuff. I am sure I wouldn't be the first gal to drop a sprog at there. In some ways it would be very fitting!

nymphadora · 03/06/2010 11:57

silver may get you some freebies

hermya nice bra lady in my town sells hot milk bras

just been the 300 m to the Market & bra shop. Not quite up to that yet but came back £70 lighter.

mamjo · 03/06/2010 15:24

I just saw my belly move!!!! Amazing!!!! I laid on my back (I know it's naughty but it's the only way I am comfy) watching tv and eating a choccy digestive and noticed that the stripes on my T-shirt started to move.
Amazing!! After all those weeks of not feeling kicks that has really put my mind at rest.

nunnie · 03/06/2010 15:25

Am I in the right place, I forgot to board the removal van and had to walk hope I have the right place.

I have my 20 week scan on monday which is awfully exciting.

Apart from that, there is nothing my end, still look to people that don't know me as though I have missed a few sessions at the gym.

Hermya321 · 03/06/2010 15:29

Nymph Thanks for that one, I take it you partook in it's wears.

Mamjo Fab news!!

Also anyone got any ideas for a new thread title?

The only ones I've got are: 10/10 Babies - Sunning ourselves and the Pumpkins.

10/10 Babies - Shopping for Pumpkin Accessories.

10/10 Babies - Ice Lollies, Pumpkins and Summer Soakings.

10/10 Babies - Sun, sea and sand and the occasional brass pumpkin band.

10/10 Babies - Hip Hoppy Pumpkins objecting to Mum's taste in Music.

Urm thats all I could come up with at the minute.

AbFabT · 03/06/2010 16:26

10/10 Babies - Welcome to the Pumpkin Patch?

mamjo · 03/06/2010 16:30

How about 10/10 babies - people patting pumpkins in parks.
I don't know about you guys but I have suffered a lot of unsolicited belly touching in the last few weeks.

nymphadora · 03/06/2010 16:45

Vote for the shopping one I like the pumpkin patch one for when they arrive!

hermya I most certainly did & feel much better for it!

Hermya321 · 03/06/2010 16:56

I quite like the people patting pumpkins in parks as well, shopping one is good though.

I just bought the most adorable blanket. It's sort of ivory coloured and it has Roo stitched into the corner. I can't wait to wrap my LO in it.
