That sounds like an awesome preggy mate you've made Dilly. I love the whole afternoon tea thing. It's really sweet of her to have gone to the effort.

And I wouldn't want you all to think my friends christened my Patsy (aka Ab Fab) for sitting in the corner at parties sipping a lemonade! Bottle of Bolly for me in the delivery room Daaarling! [squiffy emoticon]

nymphadora · 25/05/2010 13:25

My birthday is November and dh has suggested afternoon tea as we wont be up to much celebrating. There is a v nice hotel locally that does lovely ones.

DillyDora · 25/05/2010 13:26

It was very fab of her wasn't it? Now I need to brush up on my Brownie hostess skills! Hmm...champagne flavoured breast milk... an interesting thought....

Xavielli · 25/05/2010 13:30

Happy Birthday Dilly!

Tried to go baby clothes shopping this morning but all the neutral things were yellow again so have come how empty handed.

nymphadora · 25/05/2010 13:41

Fuck why do I watch the news? Am sat sobbing

PatsyIsPreggers · 25/05/2010 13:41

Sorry Dilly, completely missed that it was ur birthday. Hope you're having a good one.

Nymph a birthday afternoon tea sounds lovely. Sweet of your DH to be thinking about it already. My DH bought me a stone bird bath for my birthday and proceeded to tell me 'that thing weighs an absolute ton - but it's probably not as heavy as you' Charming!

Xav I don't like the yellow neutral stuff either really. Hope you find something you like soon.

Hermya321 · 25/05/2010 14:12

Dilly oh happy birthday, I hope you're having a good one.

nymph If you're talking about the crash then I don't blame you. It's so sad, I feel sorry for those kids and the town itself. To have such an incident after what happened last year must be so devastating on the whole community.

PatsyIsPreggers · 25/05/2010 14:15

Gosh nymph sorry, must have x-posted before. There never seems to be any good news does there. Always the doom and gloom. Those poor families

nymphadora · 25/05/2010 15:04

patsy it's ok, was nothing personal to me just sad news.
hermya yes I was, saw it in local paper then was on national news. The twin thing was concerning too. This morning had parents who had had their children snatched so I'm having a real morning of it.not helped by my hormones!!!

Keep meaning to ask if anyone has headed over to maternity knickers yet? I wear short type ones mainly & they are having to be tucked under my bump now. Told dh since I've not had new ones for ages so when they don't fit they are going out & when baby is born I want new ones!!!

AbFabT · 25/05/2010 15:36

Happy Birthday, Dilly!
Glad you are having a great day.

Thanks - already checked, and my stupid council don't give me any money-off vouchers for using reusable nappies. But I'll check about the reusable events - thanks.

Love that Ottawan hit, Patsy - and love your pregnancy version!

nymphadora · 25/05/2010 15:58

We get £30 off £45 spend for nappies.

floozietoozie · 25/05/2010 16:25

Congrats babybunting on your girl! Lots of them about at the mo it seems. I'm having scans every four weeks after the 20 wk cos ds was prem.

Thank you all for your messages. I'm pretty wiped out today after it all and not sleeping well again last night. I'm not going back to work this week. Spoke to my lovely manager and she more or less told me not to come in and suggested getting signed off for longer if I needed to. What a contrast to some of your experiences, eh? I just thank god I have her and not the horrendous person we had before.

floozietoozie · 25/05/2010 16:44

Lots of xposts, started that msg this morning.

Happy birthday Dilly. Have a great day.

patsy . I'd LOVE to see you after a bottle of Bolly (obviously not at this moment in time).

nymph have fun in Hay. I've only been in non festival time, bet it's mobbed. Give us the goss on the MNers won't you??

SamB oooohh hope your UTI clears. They're horrible when not pg.

Seashells random conversation - how come you're able to take your dog to work? What is s/he?

Must close my eyes and actually have the nap I came to bed for! That's the danger of iPhones!

Tyson86 · 25/05/2010 17:50

Happy Birthday Dilly,
Congrats babybunting on your little girl

Go to go to the doctors tomorrow as a mole has changed colour which im now worrying over that.
Scan on Thursday

Hermya321 · 25/05/2010 18:19

Abfab Does any of your family live somewhere where they do? That might be worth looking at.

OP posts:
nymphadora · 25/05/2010 19:19

Tyson- not to worry you but I had a mole that changed when I was pg with dd2. They treated it as melanoma as they weren't clear what it was. I was under the hospital for 5 years for checks.Good luck at Drs

Tyson86 · 25/05/2010 19:22

Thanks Nymph, just bad timing, i have enough on at the moment with the consultant and mental crap and could do without this and tomorrow seems like ages away! I wouldnt mind but its at the top of my thigh so nowhere near where the sun gets to. Im abit terrified.

BionicEar · 25/05/2010 19:22

Happy Birthday Dilly!

All well here have small bump that seems to have sprouted over w/end as work colleagues all noticed it has got bigger when I turned up for work on Mon!

Have been getting spare room sorted - know it is early yet but want to do it whilst have the energy!

Hope you're all doing ok and coping with the heat!

SilverSky · 25/05/2010 20:15

Dilly congrats dear girl!!

Husband chuckled as I had trauma getting dressed gor work today and then asked me if I wanted him to go and ask our neighbour who is rather obese if I could borrow some of her clothes!! Bloody cheek!

Vikks · 25/05/2010 20:33

Hello Everyone I?m back from my hols. It has taken me soooo long to read what I?ve missed, I think I?ve taken most of it in!
I had a pretty scary last day to my holiday, I starting getting some really sharp pains in the left side of my stomach. DH and me when straight to A & E when we landed in the UK. They thought it was apendicitis but we were so worried it was the baby. In the end they said that my uterus was crushing part of my bowel and all they could do was give me painkillers. It feels a little easier now and I?ve been assured the baby is ok.
Our scan is tomorrow morning so a little nervous but I?ve been feeling the little wriggler a lot today so it should be fine. Hopefully we can find out the sex too! I?ll keep you posted.

Dilly Happy Birthday!
Babybunting Congratulations on your girl!

Wow we?ve got a lot of girls on here. I wonder if I?ll buck the trend!
Should we have a list?

floozietoozie · 25/05/2010 21:45

Why don't the people who have had their scans put boy/girl/surprise next to their names on the stats list? Then we'll have all the info in one place.

Tyson blimey that's a bit scary. Good luck with it.

vikks sounds painful. Did they say it might ease as the womb lifted up? Hope so.

Off to early bed, goodnight all.

AbFabT · 25/05/2010 21:52

Hermya, I thought about that - but is it fraudulent?

Good luck, Tyson. Same as nymph, I have had a mole that changed (shape and colour), I was treated a couple of months ago, they treated it as melanoma and I had a chunk cut out of my arm to be on the safe side (not pleasant!) but turned out to be nothing (phew). I am also now on three-monthly checkups at the hospital for the next five years. And I stay out of the sun. You spotted it early, you are doing the right thing by getting it checked out.

Welcome back, Vikks. Did you have a nice holiday (apart from the last day with the pains and worry)? Hope the scan reassures you tomorrow!

Yeah, let's have a list of girls/boys/unknown. Maybe a separate thread like the stats list?

SilverSky · 25/05/2010 22:44

I will be a Surprise!!

Must remember to tell sonographer not to tell us and up make sure we look away when they check that area as knowing Husband he'll be playing Coumbo trying to guess the sex.

Hope all those having tough times, be it work or famiy or bumps in progress - tomorrow is another day and things can only get better!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 26/05/2010 06:25

Re new stats, we could add to the current one or I could do a new stats list, as I think we've got new people and others have stopped posting for whatever reason. Each person can add to it accordingly. What do you reckon?

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/05/2010 08:38

Morning all!

Welcome back Vikks! I hope your holiday was good despite the A+E trip - how scary for you I hope the pain is now easing. Does it improve if you lie with your feet up/pelvis tipped forward to drop the uterus away from your pelvis? Justa thought if you are still getting waves of pain.

I vote a new stats list, as so many due dates have changed as people have had scans and we are getting sexes known!

Tyson - you are doing the right thing checking it out. Whilst pregnant your hormones cause more melanin to be in the skin (hence I get liver spots on my legs, darker nipples and linear nigra) and things do alter, but best getting them checked. I have benign breast lumps that change when I get pregnant so have them checked each time - you can never be too sure. I hope it goes well.

Floozie - thanks for the random conver5sation question! I tend to be on my own in the office, and as long as he is well behaved and makes no mess (which he doesn't, he sleeps and stinks as he is 12) he's ok - I'm lucky!!

He is a big soppy gundog
