Morning all! It's been very busy on here since yesterday!

floozie Congrats on your results

Thanks for all the shopping advice as well everyone. DH and I agreed last night that after the scan on Thurs, if everything goes OK (fingers crossed and double crossed), we'll go and buy LO it's first little outfit. That's the sort of shopping I can get excited about. Teeny tiny little cutesy baby clothes. Lovely!

It's only a small start but hopefully we'll have a little look at travel systems too...

Oh well, work needs to be done

RooBear · 25/05/2010 09:03

hi all, how is everyone? I really wouldn't worry sam I haven't felt twinges or bubbles or anything yet, not even once, its like there's nothing there

Nymphisseeingstars · 25/05/2010 09:25

babybunting2010 · 25/05/2010 09:26

Hi All,

Had my 20 week yesterday was incredible, we're having a little girl and we are over the moon! So excited and can't wait to meet her.

Has anyone else been told that they are having a 28 week and a 34 week scan?
x

Nymphisseeingstars · 25/05/2010 09:33

Congrats Bunting I'm having extra scans but dont know when.Mine is cos of BP.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 25/05/2010 09:53

work sucks today, I want to be home with ds in the sun I can't be doing with stupid enquiries thatr I can't answer as it was agreed on the phone and no one told me. And I end up looking the idiot bah humbug!

Baby bunting congrats you your little girl!
I'm not having any more scans, just the usual nhs minimum 12/20 weeks. If they have booked you in for more but not discussed why just call your MW and check - they could be doing it for routine monitoring because of a variety of reasons, so don't worry - your are luckily going to see your little girl a few more times!!

Nymph - most of our lorry boxes moving were books we are too broke now so I have to library instead. It is probably a good thing I am not going to Hay.
Justine MN talk will be a serious case of guess who's who on the audience!!! If anyone says "think fish" you'll be in the know

I am smileys trigger happy at the moment - spot the one over compensating for tiredness and grumpiness!

Hermya321 · 25/05/2010 10:18

babybunting congrats on your little girl, that must be very exciting.

seashells I'm with you on work being a bit of a chore today. We're having the most random conversation about disco music in my office, but I'm so tired and achey that all I want to do is to go home and curl up and watch rubbish tv. Oh well, I suppose disco music education has its merits.

PatsyIsPreggers · 25/05/2010 10:22

I've not felt anything yet either Roo. Fingers crossed we'll start to feel them wriggling soon though...

Nymphisseeingstars · 25/05/2010 10:22

hermya enlighten me on the merits

seashells dh spent ages building shelves in our house to accomodate my books and we still have loads in boxes.Cant get the freestanding ones until we have carpet. Looking forward to spotting MNers and dh has decided to come too as I think he wants to see what MNers look like!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 25/05/2010 10:40

Congrats babybunting, gosh all these little girls. Is anyone keeping count?

DillyDora · 25/05/2010 10:58

Hi all, sorry you're still seeing stars nymph and that you're low seashells and sorry and ouch about the UTI sam - major sympathies!

Re the no movement thing, we're posting about it on the other thread too so thanks for all the reassurance. I really think I feel things sometimes but.... could also be wind
AbFAb for reusables - check out your local council's website to see if they give you a money off voucher and also if they have nappy events like nappyccino where you can learn all about them.

In other news - it's my birthday today! and I'm having a lovely day even though I'm working....!

xx

DillyDora · 25/05/2010 10:59

And congratulations floozie!!! (Sorry, knew I'd forget something!)

xxx

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 25/05/2010 11:13

Dilly - happy birthday!

hermya - random converstion would be a joy. I am on my own in a empty office in the middle of a wood. I can see gorgeous sunshine and want to walk my dog! There is a shedload of enquiries to deal with (it was the sales director that died) but they all need a director to call them not a clueless temp who is really a vet not a construction expert!!! Disco rocks.

Great, even the postie didn't stop for a chat I'm in purgatory

Nymph - we have a wall and corner of full height ikea billy bookshelves - the corner makes them really stable so they are not fixed in our rented flat - can highly recommend them, although we will need more and do not have space.

DillyDora · 25/05/2010 11:18

Thanks seashells and for the bookcase tip as we need loads more too and are in a rented flat.

Um...random conversation, I'm wfh all alone so could be up for a bit of that.... hmm...so, right, why is it that we are supposed to file all the rough skin off our feet but then it's sore to walk in sandals with bare feet cos they're all tender on the soles cos the rough skin is gone? There...that's random.

piesey · 25/05/2010 11:23

Happy birthday Dilly! floozie That's great news - I'm really glad that everythng was ok.

Congrats too to all those having scans too!

Well We've been busy bees over the past few days - looking at flats and spending too much time on the tube in the hot weather! We have found a flat we like an had our offer accepted! So fingers crossed it will all go ok - I'm tryng not to get too excited as I know it's a long process. The vendor wants to move quickly which is great news as so do we - I just hope we can get it all done in the two months he wants. Eek!

I'm not feeling much baby movement really either - I keep thinking I can feel the odd thing but nothing definite. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow so I guess it is still early. I do have a big bump now though and have already has a few 'gosh you're big for 18 weeks' comments which I'm trying to ignore! But I did get excited the other day when someone stood up for me on the tube! I definitely look pregnant now.

Hermya321 · 25/05/2010 11:32

nymph They were talking about how a lot of dance music today was based on some of the classics back then. Then one of the more older ones went on a whole 'music was better back then' things and that the fact that a lot of the oldies are being recycled so to speak was proof of this. Then the conversation seemed to desend into 'i wasn't even born when that came out' type realms, which was quite funny.

seashells No wonder you feel a bit stir crazy, I go a bit mad if no one talks to me for a while as well. Oh and disco does rock!

OP posts:
PatsyIsPreggers · 25/05/2010 11:33

It is lovely to start to feel properly pregnant isn't it piesey. I've given up on the normal clothes and gone into maternity trousers for the first time for work today.

Is it true you can get badges to wear on the tube saying something like 'Yes I am pregnant you CAN offer me your seat'?

shieldbug · 25/05/2010 11:33

piesey There are definite benefits to looking preggers, aren't there! I went to an outdoor museum on Friday (a folk museum where you wander round looking at old houses and shops and that kind of thing). Anyway, when I arrived, they offered me a lift up the huge hill at the entrance cos they were worried that I wouldn't make it at my obviously (although incorrect) advanced stage of pregnancy! They also let us call for a lift back to the train station at the end.
Like you, I have been convinced at times that I can feel sproglet, but there's been nothing for the past few days (I'm 19 weeks).I'm trying not to worry.

Nymphisseeingstars · 25/05/2010 11:45

hermya I love saying that to people, getting less though as I start working with people nearer my age. Still do it with dh though

pisey sounds good with the flat

seashells we want the billy ones just not sure they'll fit as all our Walls/floors are very wonky!

PatsyIsPreggers · 25/05/2010 12:00

taxi for patsyispreggers

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 25/05/2010 12:16

Chris Evans played everything but the girl (and I miss youuuuu) this morning and I was singing away like the embarassing 30 year old I am. Music WAS better way back when, certainly dance music was. There is amazing singer song writers around now, and great folk etc but the pop music has been through a dire patch (briefly enjoying a renaissance THANK GOD, why was I at uni during S clubs hey day? How am I meant to be cool in font of the kids with those memories ?!!

re filing feet - solution is to do them and then put your feet up and relax all day, not to walk on them. I am voting maximum laziness at the moment in this heat.

Just had a delivery to the office. He looked like he might chat but my dog barked at him and I look heavily pregnant in this outfit so no joy.

Just you lot then

DillyDora · 25/05/2010 12:17

LOL imagine what she's like with alcohol!

Very funny though...
xx

Hermya321 · 25/05/2010 12:37

lol! Patsy. Dilly I need alcohol at the moment, I would love a night out drinking rose wine just chatting with the girls and having a laugh. In fact whose up for it?

OP posts:
DillyDora · 25/05/2010 12:42

Hermya I hear you! I was walking along the river the other night just really envying all these girls with their bottle of wine, chatting away! Will be a while before we're doing that again. Having said that I went to see my new preggy mate (the person who moved into our old flat!) on Sunday and she'd made the best afternoon tea with cucumber sandwiches, homemade cup cakes and low alcohol wine! You can't knock that!
