Hello... Technically I'm due on 30 March, but the March list is already quite long and if DS was anything to go by, we'll be well into April by the time this shrimp makes an appearance (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc etc! - still at the early superstitious stage!!). Shall I start with some stats? I'm 34 (will be 35 just after birth), DH is 33. We've got one DS just turned 2.

Hope to have some thread partners soon, I'm v friendly, honest

Welcome, Onlyjust!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS

(Ohhh, very interesting to know who you are)

When did you find out?? I can understand your worry, but you know you can talk to us anytime. Just shout

MrsQ · 03/08/2005 19:49

I'm sure it must be worrying after a MC, I've not had one but this is a nervous enough time anyway. I'm still at that stage where (when not 'enjoying' MS) I almost have to remind myself that I really am pregnant. But everytime I do there's that inevitable - well, you might not be, it might all be in your head, already gone wrong scenario. I guess we'll all settle down after our scans. Haven't even had my 1st doc's appnt yet so scan is still miles off

Looking on the positivie side - when are you due Onlyjust? Hope you're feeling ok physically.

According to a website calculator due April 7th. I just had to do another test as i didn't really believe the first one. But got a BFP
Last time I had sore boobs - but not so far this time, although i keep poking them to check, so they will be sore soon ! I have felt a tiny bit queasy though which hasn't happened before & feel very tired with a muzzy head.
I will try & arrange docs next week
PS: I'm 38

Homsa · 03/08/2005 21:03

Hi all, can I join? I'm 33, due 13th April, and I found out yesterday!!! I thought at first I had food poisoning, I felt queasy and sooo hot! My stomach has settled down again luckily, and I hope MS is still a long way off... With DS (2.1 yo) it started at around 8 weeks. I guess I should start stockpiling frozen meals for DS and getting daddy to take a bit more responsibility...

baggybear · 03/08/2005 21:34

CONGRATULATIONS to you too Homsa

Of course you can join us - no need to ask!! Glad your tummy has settled, well, for the time being anyway. And your another mum with a little one whos just turned 2yrs!! We couldn't have more in common if we tried!!
When was your DS 2yrs?

I'm with you MrsQ - I have to keep reminding myself i'm preggers! I lifted a really heavy basket of wet washing down the garden to put out today, and suddenly stopped and thought "hold on ! I shouldn't be doing this really!". Really don't think I can wait 6 weeks til my scan. Might tell MW tomorrow that i don't know my LMP so will have to have an early dating scan

Hi baggybear!
My ds turned 2 just a few days after yours, 19th of July. Wasn't it hot at the time!!! I do think being due in April is brilliant though, couldn't have timed it better...
So when is the first scan normally done? Does it depend on the area where you live? I don't remember too well, but I think last time I must have been 12 weeks or so? We're moving to a different city in about a month's time, so I'm going to wait until then and find a GP as soon as we've moved!

baggybear · 04/08/2005 09:08

Hi Beccles!! CONGRATULATIONS to you too, m'dear!!! So glad you are feeling ok at the moment. I hope it doesn't kick in too much later on. xx

Oh, yes!! 2003 was a HOT one!! It was unbearable! So glad to be having a springy baby this time!! But knowing my luck, we'll have 6 ft of snow or a freak heat wave!! My first scan is at 12 weeks, but having spoken to some mums on the March thread who are having scans at different times, it seems to depend what area you are in. Where are you now and where are you moving to? xx

You ok MrsQ?? How you feeling today? xx

baggybear · 04/08/2005 09:09

How are you today, Onlyjust?? Hope all is well. xx

baggybear · 04/08/2005 09:37

MrsQ - due 30th march. Aged 34, DH33, DS 2

SarahLou1 - due 6th April. Aged 33, DS 2

Homsa - due 13th April. Aged 33, DS2

That will help us keep up with each other!!

TicTac · 04/08/2005 10:21

Baggybear - we do the stats on the Feb thread and Tabs eventually put it all in a spreadhseet to help her with the updates...might be worth doing as more and more people star to join you and due dates change after scans etc...will make it easier to update. We love the stats in Feb!!

sarahlou1 · 04/08/2005 10:24

Hi everyone Congratulations & hope you're all feeling o.k. I'm pretty much like everyone else - doesn't feel real yet & think it could all be in my mind!! Although have felt a bit queasy, mainly in the afternoons, nothing to complain about though. My DD was 2 on 14th June.

Got a job interview this p.m. so wish me luck!!!

Homsa · 04/08/2005 11:00

Hi Sarahlou, good luck with the interview and fingers crossed they won't ask about your family plans!
We're moving from Cambridge to Sheffield, I've just handed in my notice for my lovely part-time job. Was thinking about applying for jobs in Sheffield, but I'm now thinking it might be a bit cheeky if I told them about my pregnancy just a few days into the new job... And surely no-one would hire me if I told them I was pregnant...

baggybear · 04/08/2005 11:41

Tic-tac _ not sure you'll get this but a big thanks for the tip. Will get on with that little job! Ta very muchly!!

Sarahlou1 - Good luck with the interview!! Hope it all goes okay. Hope the quesiness doesn't pop up during interview Isn't it funny that we have all got little ones who turned 2 with a few weeks! Its fate that we should all be on MN on this thread!!

Homsa - Not sure I can offer any advice on the job front. I have done the odd part-time job in between having kids, but I've never been in the position you are in. Good luck in finding a job in Sheffield. Whats making you move to Sheffield?

OnlyJust · 04/08/2005 18:49

Hi all. I'm ok & have booked docs next week to get me booked into the system ! The support I got on MN last time was great. Fingers crossed for all Ok this time

Wow, I go away from MN for a night and we get loads more Aprilers. Hello All! How did the job interview go Sarahlou1? Onlyjust, LOL at poking the boobs - have to admit to keep having a quick check in the shower to see if anything's changing colour / shape etc!

MS kicked in nice and early today... couldn't decide if this is just going to be the pattern or if its cos I was back at work today (do Thurs & Fri's). Did anyone see that prog on OCD the other night? There was a guy who kept having to check he hadn't confessed to a crime he hadn't committed, well, it felt a bit like that this morning first thing - kept having to remind myself not to just leap up and shout 'I can't be bothered to do any work, I'm pregnant!'

baggybear · 04/08/2005 20:52

Beccles - I had PND with my first 2. It was horrible. First time aroung it was cured by falling pregnant again when DS1 was 5 months old!!!! . But second time it was much worse. Was feeling very low, had moved house with a 4 day old baby, my nan (who i was very close to) died, then i had a major crohn's flare up (didn't know it was crohns then, but do now!!). I was rock bottom for months and months. I didn't get it with DS3, I think coz I b/fed him exclusively and don't think the hormones had quite the same effect. I'm a little scared things could get wobbly this time but with MN i'm sure it will be fine

MrsQ - hi!! Sorry you are feeling a bit quesy today. I hope it doesn't get too bad for you. I made the mistake of saying on MN this morning that I flt okay today - went to sainsburys this pm and nearly passed out! Had to abandon rest of shop and get home quick!!

MW came round today to give me my notes and stuff. It was VERY surreal having her sat in my living room!! Kept wanting to say " what are you doing here?". My MW is also a good friend, (delivered DS1 & 2) and she runs the local Breastfeeding support group for which I am a councellor, so I could have a good chat to her about how DH felt bout this pregnacy. Was good to see her.

Anyway, i've waffled for too long...

Needed to get it off my chest...

MrsQ · 05/08/2005 06:52

Morning! Just a quick check in before work (DS has taken himself off downstairs 'to do drawin'). Must be lovely to be so close to MW. Will she deliver this one too? How does DH feel about this one (sorry if I've missed that bit)

OP posts:
alux · 05/08/2005 08:29

aaaaahhhh, congratulations all you april 2006ers from an april 2005er. by this time next year you will have a little 3 month old chuntering on you lap like my dd is doing as i type!

baggybear · 05/08/2005 08:44

Awwwwww Alux thats lovely. Bless!! That has put a smile on my face on this cold wet moring!!

Morning MrsQ! It is lovely having a MW that so close to me. I have put her on my notes as my named midwife so I won't see anyone else during my pregnancy (unless she can't make an appt at the last minute or she is called away) and she will deliver this baby. She really is a fantastic MW. She made me feel so relaxed with the 2 she delivered and nothing is too much trouble.
DH wasn't great with the idea of #4. We had a really tough couple of weeks where he had to "come to terms" with it all. But hes okay now and looking forward to the scan on 12th sept. We have actually touched on names, and talked about what we'll do to the house to make it bigger.

baggybear · 05/08/2005 08:44

Sorry forgot to ask , how are you all today?

Hi all - hope everyone o.k. today.

Job interview went o.k. - going in for a trial session wednesday am.

Homsa - we've just moved to worcestershire from durham & I had to leave a lovely jub there - I'd been there 10 years & they were really supportive when I had DD & let me choose what hours & days I wanted to cut down to. This pg came as a bit of a shock as I wanted to get settled & find a part time job first!!! Feel really guilty about not telling I was pregnant but new I wouldn't get it if I did & they offered me the interview before I knew I was pg. We need the money though - so thought I'd tell them after a few weeks - already have a knot in my stomach about telling them & haven't got the job yet!!

Baggybear - must be lovely to be so close to MW - my MW team were lovely with DD1 & I knew most of them by sight already. Don't know any this time - hope I get on with them o.k.!!!

Homsa · 05/08/2005 15:45

Well done Sarahlou, hope Wednesday goes OK for you too!

It's a tricky situation, isn't it... Even though the law is definitely on your side (and you shouldn't feel guilty about it!), you don't want to start off on the wrong foot! How big is the company? Is it a p/t job you've applied for?

I'm also leaving a very family-friendly job that I've had for years, it's a real shame. Seems the only way to get a decently paid p/t job is to start off f/t and then cut down your hours when the baby arrives. I'll probably try to do some freelancing and see how that goes...
