Hello... Technically I'm due on 30 March, but the March list is already quite long and if DS was anything to go by, we'll be well into April by the time this shrimp makes an appearance (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc etc! - still at the early superstitious stage!!). Shall I start with some stats? I'm 34 (will be 35 just after birth), DH is 33. We've got one DS just turned 2.

Hope to have some thread partners soon, I'm v friendly, honest

MrsEvs · 19/08/2005 03:42

Oh, I should add in case you're wondering what I doing up at this hour. I'm from Liverpool but currently living in the US (Washington DC) - my dh's job brought us out here in oct 2003 and we'l be here until Sept 2006.

Mumsnet is my touchstone to normal English mums as oppose to the rather intense American variety I often encounter

Homsa · 19/08/2005 08:52

I'm so sorry OnlyJust, it must be dreadful to have two m/cs in a row Hope you get lots of support and feel better soon. Hugs xxxx

Beabea · 19/08/2005 08:57

Hello

Just found out that I am pg again. My daughter is 11months today. I think I shall be due in April but that is yet to be confirmed.

:-) Just wanted to say hi.

Locks · 19/08/2005 11:08

Just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear the news of the m/c's, my thoughts are with you all. This time I feel more cautious about telling people as I know a few people who it has happened to now

I had my booking in appointment today with the mw. She took my bloods and now I don't have to see her until October, although I have to go to the doctors in about 3 weeks.

The good news I hope is that as I am feeling more nauseous this time than actually being sick there is a good chance it will stop at 12 weeks

Homsa · 19/08/2005 11:31

Congratulations BeaBea and MrsEvs!

Locks, glad to hear you're feeling better this time round. Do you also find you're having to eat all the time to keep the nausea at bay? I'm eating like the Very Hungry Caterpillar! This morning I have had: 2 sandwiches, 2 bananas, 1 apple, 1 joghurt, 1 chocolate bar, and a packet of ginger biscuits... and now I feel ready for some lunch I even got up twice last night to raid the fridge as my empty stomach was making me feel so queasy I couldn't sleep! Where's it going to end?

I just realised I'm actually 7 weeks pregnant, not 4 as I thought, because you count from your LMP, not the date of conception - or do you??? I can't believe I've already forgotten!

pacinofan · 19/08/2005 17:00

Hi, may I join this thread too please? Just found out last week we are expecting again. My stats are:

Me 38, DH 45. One dd 2 1/2. Early miscarriage Dec '04. About 5 weeks pregnant now, due date April 24 '05.

Slightly nervous as still very early on, but absolutely delighted.

Look forward to getting to know you all on here, hope everyone feeling ok.

rodeo1 · 19/08/2005 17:13

Locks · 19/08/2005 19:13

Congratulations BeaBeam MrsEves and Pacinofan, I hope you aren't feeling too ill

Yes, I am having to eat all the time, but I usually wait until after 9:00am before having breakfast just in case I am sick as last time I was forever throwing up the breakfast that DH brought up to me in bed (can't have that luxury with a 2 year old this time round!)

I am also quite conscious of my weight, I am about a stone and a bit overweight, I just haven't been able to shake off that last bit since Christmas. Last time, I put on 4 and half stones and I don't want to do that this time if I can help it. Cup of soups are part of my diet now, as well as toast. I am just trying to eat a little more often and it does seem to help.

I also find it easier if I have company, if it is just me and James at home the tiredness is worse, but if we have friends round it seems to give me some other focus which helps. I can then collaspe into bed after James has gone down and I have had something to eat.

I have just been reading my pack from the midwife. It has so much more information in it than last time round. I really struggled to find out about classes and what to bring to the hospital, but this time round there is a whole booklet devoted to it.

spots · 19/08/2005 20:35

Hi all, as if there weren't enough people due 6/7 April here's another one! Ponka, can't believe we're due on same date!... (we both have May 2004 babies).

I'm 32 and have just the one 15 month old.

Really sorry to hear about the lost pregnancies. Baggybear, was expecting to see you here after previous communications so I'm quite stunned to find out this bad news. Hope you are managing ok m'dear.

BEKsmum · 19/08/2005 21:17

Peepee just a quickie, reading your post on here made me cry to but I felt a bit of a loony saying that to you, just thrilled for you, get lots of rest and come back and chat when you can. you'll always be a Nov girl really!!! BEks

colditz · 20/08/2005 13:32

I am eatiing like the very hungry caterpiller too.

The part which sticks in my mind is the bit that goes "That night, he had a stomach ache"

That's me alright.

I am so tired though! I could sleep night and day. I can't because of work, and my ds.

peepee · 21/08/2005 07:55

Morning ladies,

I suspect everyone is still asleep. Am just psyching my self up for my 0800hrs jab...... Have 7 bruises on my legs from previous ones!
Will not be wearing shorts on my hols. People will think DH can't aim properly Obviously he can otherwise I would not be in this position!
Never mind I don't suppose we will get really warm weather. Our cruise goes Dublin, Cork, Greenland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Princes Sund Islands, Newfoundland and then New York. I have a feeling it could be a bit chilly. Am really looking forward to it. Hopefully this will be our last trip as a couple. Next time we could have a baby with us! Fingers crossed.

Anyway, enough from me. Have to go and hide myself in the ladies loo's and jab my abdomen.

AAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhh

peepee · 21/08/2005 15:56

Hello, anyone there?

colditz · 21/08/2005 16:40

Ooo, I hate jabs. I get the heebee jeebees and go hysterical.

I am just tired, tired, tired. Was at work from 7 am, now I am looking after ds (2.4) til he goes to bed - 8:30 at the earliest.

I have been bemoaning my weight gain, I have never seen anything like it. I look like I have jammed a pillow up my top! Ridiculous! It must all be cake.

HellKat · 21/08/2005 16:55

Peepee- Great to see on the ttc thread!!! Missed you. CONGRATULATIONS So pleased for you hun!!!Well done. Here's to a happy number of months!

peepee · 22/08/2005 10:29

Good morning ladies,

I am trying to work out how many of on this thread so far. Have not bothered inputting my stats yet.

So here goes......
me age:37
DH age:39
Due 16th April 2006
4 m/c in last year
0 kids yet!
2 dsd(step daughters) aged 11 and 12

Baggybear, you did a good job of the last one...Can I join please,I am trying to be positive.

How many of us on here now? Does anyone have the full list?

Hope you are all well. It has been pretty quiet over the week-end. I was starting to think I was being ignored

Homsa · 22/08/2005 17:21

peepee, I'm sure you weren't being ignored, people were probably feeling too grotty to post! Well I was anyway. Your cruise sounds great, I wish I could go on a pampering holiday and get someone else to cook all the meals for me! Although I wouldn't risk getting seasickness on top of morning sickness!!! When are you leaving?

I'll sound like a miserable cow now, but I need to have a moan and say I absolutely hate early pregnacy! I've got constant nausea, heartburn, dizzyness, aching muscles, sore chest... Thank god for ds's long afternoon naps, I don't know how I would get through the day without them! I keep on thinking it's so unfair that the worst bit of pregnancy is at the beginning, when everything could still go wrong, I want to write a letter of complaint and ask them to change that!!!

pacinofan · 22/08/2005 18:01

Just popping in to say hi. Homsa, I'm only 5 weeks and I'm feeling very sick and tired already and my boobs feel sort of 'heavy'. I know what you mean about your son's nap too - my dd slept for 3 hours this morning/afternoon having been up since 0630 and boy did I need that break! Has been particularly hard for me recently as my DH works away and you really appreciate that help from your other half don't you? Anyway he's home now for a few days so I intend to make the most of it, got a nice few days planned with some nice family meals together, just minus the wine!

Am already thinking of names - I know, I know, way too early I'm getting carried away with myself. Can't help it, so chuffed to have the beanie on board!

Bye for now,

peepee · 22/08/2005 18:57

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

There are people out there.

I am a bit worried about the sea sickness ontop of feeling grotty. The holiday is paid for so I am going regardless!

It'll be nice just to be away.

Gonna have some tea now...

Bye

Tumblemum · 22/08/2005 19:15

Peepee hope you have a good trip sounds fab
Pacinofan can empathise with your dh being away as mine often is and has been since I got my BFP which is a bit hard the weeks seems sooo long on our own just me and little ds. He is back on Friday and we are off for the bank holiday camping not sure now about this hoping for good weather.
Still not feeling preggers which disconcerts me re previous mc, just don't believe there is a viable baby there... Hoping there is.

MrsQ · 22/08/2005 20:00

Early pregnancy is pants (although I have to admit there weren't many bits of pregnancy I actively enjoyed! Really looking forward to not being able to reach the ground and a constantly itchy bump... not), not only are you still scared its not viable but the time when you want to be able to sit in the corner and demand tea and biscuits from all around is the time when you haven't told anyone so have to pretend you feel fine!

Know what you mean about those daytime naps... kept thinking 'just five more minutes' this afternoon. Paying for it now though as the little sod just won't lie down and go to sleep. Trying hard to count to ten very slowly before I go in there and show him just how loud frustrated screams really can be from a 34yo!!!

OP posts:
peepee · 22/08/2005 20:43

Tumblemum,
Don't wory about not feeling any nauseau sore boobs dizziness etc.........I am feeling enough for all of us! No seriously, my freind went through pg with no effects at all except the long hours of hard pushing at the end of it.

I am sure you will be fine.
How many weeks are you?
If you have had m/c in the past try talking to your GP he may recommend you go to EPU for a scan. Be really pushy and teary it'll work.

I will be 6 weeks tom! Will be having a scan next tuesday. Am starting to get nervous..

Sending loads of hugs and luck to ya.

Peepee.x

Tumblemum · 22/08/2005 20:51

thanks peepee, epu said go back if and when got preggers again so will pop along in a couple of weeks or so, I am 5+2, hope all goes well for you and your bean too
have to admit sometimes feel a little bit nervous of what life will be like with two children, I don't think i could be any lower maintenance than i am now, unless I gave up washing! and can still remember the tiredness, but so want this bubba.
My mum lives quite a distance and the IL's are not user friendly so will be all on my own with the two of them though could not ask for a more supportive or hands on dh when he is home (though we did row a lot in the early days because of tiredness, so hope we don't this time). Have quite a few 'mum' mates but they are up to their eyes in kids with most of them pregnant with their second or already got two.

peepee · 22/08/2005 21:06

I am still at work and have another hour to go...
I am really struggling to keep awake. Have had some peppermint tea to ease the nauseau...It's not working.
Am working with one other tonight. A bloke. He is aware of my situation and is helping me keep it secret from others. I have told him to be nice to me (fetching me loads of tea etc) otherwise when the baby is born I will keep popping into the office so he can see it. He hates kids.
The threats seem to be working.

I wanna go home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tumblemum · 22/08/2005 21:18

What do you do peepee?
