Here we go, pull up a deck chair, catch some rays and help yourselves to a mini eggs ice cream.

roobear you are so restrained!! I'm so impatient I've bought loads already. I'll be spending the next 5.5 months playing with it all!!

Its all so exciting i keep buying stuff too Fingon !!! Anyone having their baby at Kings college hospital? x

Fingon ha ha. I have the purple and the chocolate with blue spots (and the orange one, and the blue one, and the blue and chocolate large spot and the sage and blue spot and the red one and the black one ).

You were right to get the small sized popper ones rather than the one size velcro - those are just too big for a newborn. The small should last a couple of months. When I find out the sex - I definitely am as I don't like surprises and want to know after three boys already - and it's a girl, I'll be getting the pink and sage spotted nappy in small for her. In fact, if it's a girl, I think we might go bankrupt.

Welcome Katy, loving your due date, and RooBear - see if you can get the rest of the ladies over here. More people for me and Fingon to ramble on about nappies to.

Ooo nappy chat- I was full of good intentions and due to pnd and laziness never managed it would say though that friends who were successful re reusables found the first couple of months they leaked, and needed changing too frequently, so used disposables. Once dc were bigger they worked brilliently.

I use recycled ones ie spirit of nature website, or natures baby (fab range of wipes etc) or pampers if they are super reduced I have no money left! Can recommend terry Rowling squares for meconium nappies and those sticky bf poos!

Right, will read thread properly now lol!

Nice new home! Love the title too.
Welcome Katy & RooBear nice to ?meet? you.

Exhaustion has taken on new meaning for me this week?. I took 49 children to an adventure park today! Thank god that is over. How many more months do we have to work?!
It?s nice to get home, get on MN and think about my baby (who is a boy today, we alternate daily). Strangely though I am getting girl vibes and I don?t know why. We will definitely be finding out the sex, DH and I didn?t even discuss it, waiting just didn?t occur to either of us. If it is a boy we are really going to have to work on the name, we can?t agree on any boy?s names. We already have our girl's name and both love it.
Still waiting on our scan date?..

Tyson I?m sooo getting a 4D too. It?s £195 here but they say only after 24 weeks. Can I wait that long???

Hi ladies! I have been lurking for a while but everyone seems so lovely i might as well join in! Had our first scan on Tuesday, baby is 14 weeks and have a due date of 16th October. Going for that extra blood test thingy on 6th May its to test if you are high risk of Downs syndrome isnt it? Said yes to it anyway. The midwife told me im to old to be tested for chlamydia (im 28) i did chuckle. It was amazing seeing my little baby on the screen, after having no symptoms or sickness it was a relief to be told i wasnt making it all up! Baby was bouncing around looking very content.

I used reuseables with dd1 but dd2 reacted to everytime she weed so had natures baby for her, which then weren't available in my area so we stocked up on day trips [saddo]

reuseables have changed loads in 10 years and are so much more common. I have my old ones still but they seem v bulky. We get a grant from the council towards them too (did you know that hermya)

Welcome, flyingdoll!

Vikks, DH and I alternate between a boy and a girl every day too - we have our names picked out (sorry, not telling), and just like to use the names to ensure 100% we like them.

Grants towards reusable nappies is GREAT - thanks for reminding me, Nymph (I had heard it before - maybe from you on the previous thread?!). I will see if our council offer it.

Magic nappies would be great - ones that clean themselves - imagine!

Have any of the new mums-to-be never changed a nappy? I never have!

Vikks · 15/04/2010 19:41

AbFabT We aren't telling our names either !

I'm a first timer too with nappy experience. I'm a nursery nurse so I've done a fair few over the years. I guess if I can do other kids poo, my own won't be too bad. FX

Well done, Roo. Welcome, nunnie. Good luck with your scan on Monday. And you are welcome even if you end up in November. I am due 4th October and there is every chance I could be a few days early and land in September.
Re what you do now, just settle in, and carry on jabbering away! And add yourself to the stats list (link on first post).

Crikey, Vikks - yes - you must be an amazing nappy-changer if you have done other babies! Am sure your baby's poo will be far more delightful!
Are you 100% set on your names?
