Indeed, it's super fab news and if you truly stop poas-ing, then I salute you for superior willpower!

CurlyCasper · 20/04/2010 09:18

Let the nekkid dancing truly commence! That's excellent news polly! and yes, ditching the thermometer and the sticks is defo a good idea. How far gone do you think you are then?

Thanks for the advice all. Looking at how engaged the baby is really makes sense, poo. I suppose I had forgotten in all this that, from next week, I will be seeing the doc or MW every fortnight and eventually every week, so should have a very good idea of what is happening (god love the level of high-risk preggo care!).

If anything untoward happens before he goes away, I would consider it an emergency and ring an ambulance if he's not there/had a few drinks (it would be a prem labour after all!) And if anything dodgy shows up in any checks before he's due to leave - he won't be going!

And he has agreed to take it easy once he's back - the holiday is his last bit of freedom and spending etc anyway. Will do him good to toe the line for a few weeks.

Hope you are all feeling good today. We must all try not to cry at work today

iggypiggy · 20/04/2010 09:19

poo that is excellent news! And I can assure you that being updiffed this time just made me menkul in a different way

I hadn't even thought about telling MrIggs not to drink but then it's not like transport will be a problem in London... and he hasn't really been drinking anyway!

Tonight I haz first NCT class.... not nescessarily looking forward to it...

iggypiggy · 20/04/2010 09:19

oh no I don't it's tomorrow night... think brain is absent...

laurielou · 20/04/2010 09:20

WARNING BESH intruder alert! (Am bringing non-alcoholic gin & doughnuts).

Firstly poo fab news on the temps, really pleased.

I'm after some advice if you pliz from worldly wise PESH's who have won baybees.

Have any of you taken Clomid? I've taken my first dose this month. Had dildocam on CD9 which showed 2 healthy sized follicles. Was advised by FC to SWI every other day from CD11.

I usually ovulate about CD17, so to maximise chances this month we SWI every other day as advised, plus I thought if I use the OPK we can SWI at every opportunity when I ovulate.

So I started using OPK on CD13. Am now on CD22 & no surge. What gives? Also no dampness in the gusset area (though I have been told that Clomid can, ahem, dry you up a bit).

So, can Clomid make you ovulate earlier? Can healthy sized follicles spontaneously combust? What?

Am planning to see if droid appears this month. If so then I will unleash my menkalness on the FC. Just wondered if anyne here can help me first..............

skihorse · 20/04/2010 09:26

iggy Oh but dahlink, it'll be full of fabulous people who do fabulous things and belong to fabulous groups.

laurielou I've been reading your updates and although I've no experience with Clomid I'd say i) congrats on the shitloads of sex you've been having, ii) fuck the OPK - they're stupid and universally unreliable - if they were that shit hot doctor's would prescribe THEM, not Clomid. iii) about your itchy nipple... my left nipple spontaneously combusted 5 days before my BFP.

*Before 11am.

Aye carumba, I messed up my asterix' and have inserted an erroneous apostrophe.

OP posts:
PollyPoo · 20/04/2010 09:27

Fanks laydeez

LozzerMyLuvver is you stressed? It can delay ovulation... just a thought.

PollyPoo · 20/04/2010 09:29

Also what Ski says... OPK's are not reliable on their own, and seeing as the clomid may have dried up your juice then it is hard to know if you've ov'd - you may have done and not even noticed. Just keep shagging til you get your BFP. Are you CD22 today? How long is your cycle usually?

CurlyCasper · 20/04/2010 09:33

loz I know not of clomid but recommend/second the keep on shagging approach. If in doubt, just do it

(best of luck, widdershins rubbing, spoon whittling and all that jazz )

iggypiggy · 20/04/2010 09:36

lorry you can fuck off with your non-alcoholic gin - we only want the hard stuff - am afraid I am fucking useless re: clomid, but loads of us on here have had opk fail - and def ovulate... so i would trust the fuckers...

Ski as I too am fabulous - I'm sure it will be amazing

CurlyCasper · 20/04/2010 09:39

And iggy - sure the classes will be just delightful. I start the NHS ones next week and am hoping all the chavs dont care enough to attend

Yes, I expect transport will be easy peasy in that there London. And where I am now (living) is two minutes' drive from a hossie and MW unit - albeit the one I am not supposed to birthing at thanks to being "high-risk". But once we've moved it will be a very different jug of cod. We'll deal with it. I suppose I could hop on one of the lovely huge poniez () in the field next door and gallop my way to the consultant unit...

iggypiggy · 20/04/2010 09:48

lorry I meant wouldn't trust opks - clearly... I am a nobber

cassie we will have to compare course content

Liking idea of gallop to hospital - sure that will help the baby on its way out

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 20/04/2010 09:53

laurie I bought some special lube from Boots, can't remember the name but their equivalent of Pre-Seed, which may be a good idea with Clomid. We SWId every day for 8 days starting 4 days before Ov, sometimes twice a day . Both of us were glad when it worked .

Personally I dislike OPKs as they're really hard to interpret properly and you can think you're oving after you've ovd. I personally prefer temping, cervix checking and FFJ checking but it's a lot more hassle and takes a lot more time (and is somewhat yucky). But obviously it worked well for us (first month this time, and first month I ovulated last time after 7 months of trying but not ovulating). Damn site cheaper, too. Good luck.

polly Good girl

ski big fat hairy slap to you. NCT helps lots of people and has lots of nice people in it. Sure, it attracts the middle classes esp to running the local stuff (and so what? Are the middle classes personas non grata completely now?) but YOB reckons that's because the MC are more inclined to do, as opposed to have stuff done for them. It's a theory...

iggs it's going to be fine and remember, the decisions are all yours and you can tune in and out to the information as you wish. And you ARE fabulous

cas Well I'm travelling to Ukraine at 34 weeks... but I'm feeling less happy about it now as I get bigger!

CurlyCasper · 20/04/2010 09:56

I haz joined the NCT. Have received membership details, but yet to be invited to anything that will help me find friends...

laurielou · 20/04/2010 10:09

Ladeez, fanks for your wise words. I will shove remaining OPK in bottom drawer & just SWI instead

I have been a little bit stressed about it, but I've been more stressed in my life & still encountered the damp gusset, so don't think that's delayed it.

carrots fanks for non-pre-seed-pre-seed recommendation. If I don't win this month I'll up the game & seek that out.

See, I knew youse lot would help!!!!

Yeah I am on CD22, usual length about 31/32 days...........Hopefully I'll be here for real in the near future.

skihorse · 20/04/2010 10:10

rots wrt NCT I am slagging I think the North & West London yummy-mummy groups - and I did of course forget that our iggy will be attending the one held at Nelson Mandela house.

OP posts:
skihorse · 20/04/2010 10:12

Btw laurie, I totally agree with rots re: the OPKs being unreliable in the sense that the frequently indicate OV when it's TOO LATE! e.g., say you get a smily face at 9am but you don't get your dirty little sex-mad paws on the man muck until 9pm, by the time the little swimmers have swum - our geriatric eggs have done a Kevin Spacey style "and poof, it was gone" thing.

OP posts:
carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 20/04/2010 10:22

ski fairy snuff . I forgot we were looking at t'southerners . Obviously us northern NCT-ers are tip top decent people (even though we all vote BNP).

Oh did anyone watch the Secret Millionaire who went to Redcar? Blimey it looked SERIOUSLY grim oop North. Redcar actually has some really lovely bits (if you look hard enough), not to mention lemon tops.

cas you won't get much from the national NCT for local stuff. Suggest you contact your local group (FB me with your postcode and I'll sort it out for you).

CurlyCasper · 20/04/2010 10:38

Thanks rots but have done that myself just now after whinging. will have to change branches anyway when I move. New branch is a nice, very small new one with a weekly meeting (from tums onwards!) and a fundraising pub quiz already in the pipeline. I like the sound of them, so will start going once I am on maternity leave.

The Big NCT Weekend in a few weeks is very near me if anyone was planning to attend (might have to pop past to laugh at check out Davina)

reginaMonologue · 20/04/2010 10:40

laurie as my fertility nurse put it.. "you can copulate all you like, but unless you've see the stretchy glope there's no point wasting the baby soup"... so if you're finding the gusset has gone into sahara mode take rots advice and go get some spermulator... (do you like what I did there, that's like an escalator for sperm...)

For those with OH's thinking of skulking off at in opportune times, mine came home last night and said he had been invited to Portugal for a long weekend in September. I ain't due till 20 Nov and I was still twitchy about him going. I told him we can discuss the situation in his annual review in 5 months time.

Btw, to get straight to the point... lets talk about S.E.X. As in who's gone off it, who's back on it.... what's the deal. I was firmly off the idea until about 2 days ago and now I find myself thinking, I could get me some of that. Probably not helped by the 2 filthy dreams I've had recently...

skihorse · 20/04/2010 10:43

reggie Very much peaks and troughs this end - we've not had any for a week although I've been telling him since Sat that I wants it. Trouble is, we're out of sync - I'm good to go at 3am, he could take me any time between 8pm and 3am and I'd sleep through it.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 20/04/2010 10:47

Extreme famine remains here. We have not copulated once during this pregnancy (almost 27 weeks) and i have no intention to unless my bits miraculously stop hurting at the slightest touch OR I am desperate to get the bloody thing out of me!

iggypiggy · 20/04/2010 10:53

reggie am same as ski - is peaks and troughs... oddly I have stopped with the dreams and the waking up with orgasms bit now - so am less fussed for it - but is still nice!

skihorse · 20/04/2010 11:04

I had a filthy dream last night. He told he had an "angry" dream. I fear this might not have been the greatest 3am combo!

iggy I am s.h.o.c.k.e.d. to the core - I thought you were such a naice girl!
