Reg is that The Manor Hotel, Castle Combe? [winkyface]

reginaMonologue · 22/04/2010 14:43

I just had a thought whilst replying to VAGs FB friend request - none of my friends know I'm up the duff yet! Eeek! So, if you do decide to add me don't push me out of the closet just yet... want to get the first scans out of the way first!

reginaMonologue · 22/04/2010 14:44

Vag It is indeed! We got married there last year in February, you know when the snow grounded the UK... nearly didn't make it!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 22/04/2010 14:55

Reg Photos are lovely with the snow though! We went there for my birthday last September, and very lovely it was too. (And we got married in a sister hotel to that one, coincidentally).

Although I'm now "out" to everyone, not a mention has been made on fb so far - I asked fb'ers not to mention as my grandmother would have found out that way (cousin is "friend") but now she knows and still silence. I think people are awaiting a signal. Better than my announcing of my nephew's birth before my sister had a chance to

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 22/04/2010 15:31

ski please advise who FB suggestion is, ta

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 22/04/2010 15:32

iggs stop with the "if you're interested" stuff . I am, and I'll take a look, and many thanks.

skihorse · 22/04/2010 15:55

Hopefully more PESH people to follow this evening - for now I'm off to the stables to play with my pony.

Curly am sure pink streaks will turn out to be harmless but let us know... I had spotting the whole way through my 1st trimester and SkaterBabe is fighting fit (and having a one man judo competition in my womb right now). Fingers crossed for you both.

CurlyCasper · 22/04/2010 18:26

I'm here and all is fine. Shall expand further in longer post to follow. But I did spend two and half hours on a labour ward

reginaMonologue · 22/04/2010 18:31

skihorse · 22/04/2010 18:40

curly Wonderful news! Can't wait for deets (assuming none too gory).

okiecokie has made fb contact and I'll be sending her out to you lot as soon as she accepts my friend request. It's a pic of a lady running down the aisle in a white dress clutching a bunch of flahz.

CUNextTuesday · 22/04/2010 18:41

@ all ok. Is too early for babies to ding yet.

My friend the occ health nurse dragged me onto the scales this lunchtime - I told her I didn't own any, didn't know how much I'd put on, etc, and she said I should know and besides she wanted to know .

So in light of the lard calculator telling me I should put on no more than 15lbs during the preg, I hopped on to find I had put on a grand total of 8lbs, which for mas o menos 31 weeks doesn't seem too grim. Expect to balloon in next 8 weeks, but shan't be doing any more measuring. Once was enough

CurlyCasper · 22/04/2010 18:52

aw you guys

That was a rollercoaster day. I was genuinely quite chilled this morning. Then the phone calls made me start to worry. Then the day assessment unit was too busy so I had to go to the labour ward.

There I had endless questions, pee check, BP check, temp check, bump measured, bump felt, fetal heart and movement monitoring, speculum swabs and examination and a lot of waiting.

Was first seen by a student, who did not have my notes. From basic questioning she briefly suggested it could be a show - but very quickly asked how many weeks I was and started to backtrack as I said "well it's a bit early for that, isn't it!" Poor girl was quite embarrassed. But it was a good job I've been reading up and did not panic at the thought of experiencing a labour sign at 27 weeks!

CaspJunior performed for the monitoring, jumping all over the shop. Apparently her ECG charts were just perfect.

The verdict: Nothing really wrong. Urine suggests possible beginnings of an infection. Swabs found what looks like thrush (and probably is knowing my history) and that could have caused the blood. They will look at the results and send me a letter.I've to keep my consultant appointment on Thursday 29th and they have, for reasons I know not, recommended that I be given a scan at that appointment to check growth etc.

So: I have no big reasons to worry, but I should get to see my baby again in a week .

It was quite an experience. Babies were being born on the same corridor. I could hear gas and air being devoured next door. It was like actually being on the set of OBEM. A dose of reality TBH - that's where my baby will be born and they were all very lovely.

After two and a half hours sitting in a hot labour room, I was treated to a new hoover and a pizza hut. Lucky girl that I am

Thanks for all your concerns. I heart yoos lot.

skihorse · 22/04/2010 18:53

Just back from the stables, YO has acquired a miniature shetland for julian and her sister's baby. I fear she's jumping the gun as both are currently in utero...

cunty Fuck off tar. I haz put on 2 stone.

CurlyCasper · 22/04/2010 18:58

OMG mini ponnieezz!!!!1!! . I think that's sweet ski.

I am refusing to do scales. Ever.

CUNextTuesday · 22/04/2010 19:02

Ting is doh ski I had weight done as part of new patient check about3 weeks into pregnancy, and I am sho as shiz that I lost weight in the first couple of months, so I must have put on more than that in reality. I can sort of believe it in a way because a) I'm all front loaded, b) I haven't been able to eat big portions right from the start (Hom begs to differ fnur fnur) and c) I'm sure a large proportion of my overweightedness came from alcohol

Like I say, watch me eat my words in the next few weeks and for those words to weigh about 3 stone

Bravo at all clear cas and at fresh scan...
