poo I had a massive drop after getting positive - below the cover line. But was for one day only. And cheapies did take a while to get stronger. Hope this helps. Everything crossed for you

skihorse · 19/04/2010 09:06

pol - it ain't over yet and curly knows her temping so try and take a little comfort from her. It's nothing to do with the boat... unless you hauled it up using your cervix (again). Can you somehow keep really busy today to at least make a pathetic attempt not to menkul - although menkul is to be expected I'm sure. As for SIL, don't worry - we'll all carry those hate vibes for you if you no longer wish to hold that burden.

PollyPoo · 19/04/2010 09:25

Thank you Casp and Ski. Just spoke to a RL friend who managed to calm me down a bit. In short, there is not much I can do if it doesn't want to stick - the best I can do is not stress about it, and think positive thoughts and all the other hippy shit that I love. Send me all your positive vibes laydeez!

Deep breaths.... got to take car to garage now and might take Boo off to the beach and try and take my mind off it...

Thanks again. Will let you know if there is any change.

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 19/04/2010 09:52

polly loads of positive vibes coming from here. As you say, there's nothing you can do to make it stop or go but I would ask your doc about the prog as I for one have no idea.

There's nothing I can say to make you feel better, but please know that we're all crossing everything for you and sending good vibes your way.

iggypiggy · 19/04/2010 10:03

poo am oh so excited by your news - everything crossed that the drop is just the same as casp had. I went v. menkul after my v. pale line - so have much sympathies. x

rots there was an article on that orgasm thing in the telegraph last year... I remember reading it cos I was updiffed at the time... I'll find it cos is online somewhere...

Glad is not just me finding the dog walking harder than normal...

I have had lovely weekend - and am pretty sure I felt a braxton hicks contraction last night...

skihorse · 19/04/2010 10:24

poo We're all rooting for you and you had a good, positive experience with your Boo pregnancy right? You wouldn't even be panicking right now if the last 2 years hadn't been so awful.

I'm sorry rots/iggy but I is planning a total sex ban during the whole exit strategy thing. Baby out + six weeks = thinking about it fankuvehmuch.

What did the BH feel like iggy?

I have just booked an appointment for my 4D scan! I want a Julian keyring and I want it now. I phoned wanting an appointment for the last week of May (optimum time for view/my holidays) and she offered me tomorrow am or 31 May. So 31 May I get to find out whether he's got his mother's nose (concorde) and his father's blow-job lips.

rots I'm very envious of your greenhouses - I'm planning on growing on the balcony this year as I'll have the time to nurture and it'll just "smell" nice surrounded by basil & tomatos.

I've just come in to work after being off all last week and in my inbox found a fucking GLOWING reference/annual review from my boss who left last month. Cocksucking Belgians.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 19/04/2010 10:31

Please to tell about BH iggy? I woke up with rock hard stomach yesterday, painful on one side. Would this be it or just something wind/poo related?

No idea what to expect...

iggypiggy · 19/04/2010 10:36

ski is not actually involving sex y'know... but I can't find the link to that article - am sure I posted it on MN last year tho... might try to find that way..

Is funny - I says to bloke - ooh that was wierd - just felt like a spasm - that wasn't liek the kicking. he says 'hope it wasn't a contraction' - I say oh yeah - it probably was a braxton hicks innit! It made my belly go all tight just for a few secs...

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 19/04/2010 11:10

ski iggy is right - there is NO sex involved in the actual childbirth part! (eeww)

cas braxton hicks to me feel like a tightening of the stomach area, uncomfortable but painless, which comes and goes over about a minute. I thought I was having one giant braxton hicks yesterday until I went to the loo, pulled down my troosers, felt better then realised that my joggers were a bit tight. Well, a lot tight. And that's what I'd been feeling. . Twat.

skihorse · 19/04/2010 11:16

I was joking you mad sexfiends! I remember the article and just think it's proably "not for me" unless Julian will be rubbing up and down my G-spot for any length of time.

Has anyone else (me, cossie/curly) got this pale blonde downy "fur" stretching from pubes to above belly button? All the hairs stand on end - it's funny, weird and sweet all at the same time.

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 19/04/2010 11:47

Oh this is it: Orgasm Birth thing

CurlyCasper · 19/04/2010 12:38

Am liking my furry belly feel I am furrier elsewhere too... could be the steroids.

iggypiggy · 19/04/2010 12:43

I haz opposite of fur... all my body hair appears to have stopped growing so much...

Cosmosis · 19/04/2010 13:16

I have the same iggs, I shaved my legs yesterday because I felt I ought to, but in reality there was not much there, the last time I shaved them was 1st April. not that i keep a diary of leg shaving, but I remember becuase I did it for a wedding i was going to.

My linea negra has now gone up to my ribs. Is still v pale though. So ski yes I am going to find out all the other old wives tales re finding out the sex just for fun!

skihorse · 19/04/2010 13:19

Scuses for my hignorance, but with the linea negra cossie, will it leave a permanent mark?

I fink it does for some and not for others ski

iggypiggy · 19/04/2010 13:29

cossie try this: old wives tales gender predictor

it says boy for me.

re: hair - I did shave my legs a while ago - but is not really growing back!

skihorse · 19/04/2010 13:34

iggy baby predictor says I've got a 53% chance of having a girl. Which is a shame really as she'll have a winky.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 19/04/2010 13:37

Hmm, I finally shaved my legs after winter last week (lazy cow) now intrigued to see what grows back. Probably a mass of ginger curls...

The Chinese Gender predictor, which combines month baby conceived and your age at conception, was right for me.

Today, she seems to be mostly trying to stand on my hip

Cosmosis · 19/04/2010 13:42

ski ever so slightly effeminate boy then praps?

iggs that say 60% girl for me.

casps linky to chinesey thingy pleasy?

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 19/04/2010 13:48

The OWT things I did when preg with LC proved without question that he was a girl. Hence only having a girl's name sorted out.

However, since starting school he's finding being called "Stephanie Alice" a bit of a problem so we're going to have to rethink.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 19/04/2010 14:01

Hello Peshes

Glad you all had lovely weekends. The weather here was amazing too and we had such a great day out in the country.

Anyway, I had my scan today! It went really well. I am so relieved and happy, because of course you do worry in advance and Boyfy and I definitely did fret about all being well. It was so great that it was. Well, baby has two arms, two legs, two brain hemispheres and a beating heart. That seems to be all present and correct for this stage! And we saw the baby move! The doc seemed to think that the scan confirmed the dates, though I'm not sure how this works exactly, as when he did the CRL, it measured 10+6 on the screen (I am 10+2 according to the doc and his wheel today - or 10+1 according to what he said last time...).

Anyway, who knows. I wouldn't give a damn, except that the nuchal scan is scheduled at 13+1 and I am hoping that isn't actually more like 13+4 or 5 in fact, at which point you have missed the optimum moment for that scan. Oh well, I did raise it with him and he calmly replied that the appointment as it stands is fine basically. So I guess that it is (reluctantly concedes that the doctor MAY know more about it than self, despite close reading of pregnancy book).

poo I have my fingers crossed for you. I don't temp, but I did have one very faint test early on, when I was building on getting a nice strong one and it also panicked me. Hope it's just an anomoly and that the many velcro vibes coming your way are having the desired effect!

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 19/04/2010 14:06

witty fantastic news about the scan!

interesting read going back to monitoring

Written by practising midwives BTW. There's a general debate going on about whether CFM does more harm than good.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 19/04/2010 14:11

Thanks carrots - I am still sneaking little looks at my printout here at my desk. It was really great.

I don't know much about CFM - but give me time. I haven't reached the labour section in my book yet
