hi ladies here is our new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 01/06/2010 16:55

Nooooo, come back GIRAFFE! Think it may be quiet due to half term -I know I'm only just taking a breath now! Have made chocolate and walnut squares with the dds, and waiting now for them to cool before topping them with fudge. Know from experience that this is where it can all go horribly wrong!!
A quick question...does anyone know the best time of day to do opks??? It says on pack not to use first wee of day, but no indication of best time???

essenceofSES · 01/06/2010 17:07

Quick post whilst lurking on phone and giving DS his tea!

Diege - OPKs best done around 2-3pm as fits best with the body's natural hormone cycles. Always at least 3hrs since last wee. HTH

Will try to be back later!!

GiraffeYoga · 01/06/2010 18:28

Ahh phew. Glad Diege and Ses had reappeared.

Baking sounds good Diege. Please send over a ffinished article for some QA testing!

Ses- hope things are ok with you, useful knowledge re OPK sticks. Noted for future referece.

Did you resolve any more with DH re TTC?

The Small Giraffe STILL isnt well. Went to get her from nursery and she is sooo not herself. Not sure what to do really. Her temp is back to normal but something isnt right. Will see how it goes tomorrow... its getting boring now !

Diege · 01/06/2010 18:43

Thanks SES!Not sure I can manage such a gap between wee's! Will def try mid-afternoon though. How was the trip?
GIRAFFE, could it be the dreaded teething again?
Choc cake was yummy, really nice - weighs a tonne but is very light and quite sticky too. Have had a few crumbs and that's it - have started putting a few pounds back on,so am being very strict with SW for the next week or so!

GiraffeYoga · 01/06/2010 18:57

Good control Diege.

Im wondering about teeth but she seems too poorly for that.... the other query is Chicken pox. Understand children can be really poorly for a week before hand. She first had a temperature on Wednesday last week so i guess it will show any time if it is the pox....

Will stop bleating on about it and go and make some dinner.

essenceofSES · 01/06/2010 20:56

Hello again!

Diege - 2hrs should be enough!

We had a great time in York thanks. Meet up with May 09ers went really well - six mums, six 1yo and 6 other DC!
O loved my friend's DD as well. By the end of a few days, they were really enjoying eachother and making themselves giggle a lot

Still not resolved the ttc conversation with DH. Hoping to have a chat a bit later this evening.

Giraffe - sorry SG still under the weather. There is a lot of CP around at the moment. One of the DC at our York meet up developed it within 24hrs and so I'm keeping an eye on DS for the next couple of weeks. I'd really like for him to get it over and done with but at the same time it really won't be easy if he has to stay away from nursery. It will involve me and DH having to share time off work...

Sorry that ended up quite a me, me, me post...
Hello to anyone else around - tink, Cant, Kay, Gruff, Star, MMM

NatalieJane · 02/06/2010 01:19

Hellooooooo

Goodness me, bloody stupid twatting cock head BT and they're sodding internet, was supposed to be on the day we moved in, nearly 4 weeks down the line and it's only just come on well enough to load this page! Kept thinking at some point someone will make a new thread, have no idea how long I have spent with it trying to load and it never did!

Ahem, anyway, how is everybody? Any BFP's??? What's gone on in the wagon? Obviously have barely caught up, literally last few posts because it's late and I can barely see anymore!

We're doing good here, move went well, house is great, have decorated DS2's room, got the rest of my furniture for my office - t'is looking good, will be even better if I ever get this next assignment finished so I can decorate it! Have changed my mind about 47 times on which room to decorate next and in which colours! Course is going really well, got the second lot of marking sheets back, level 3 across the boards again Am really very pleased with myself because it was quite a big assignment and I'd got it in on time despite the move etc. We've all had a really nasty cold/virus/fluey type thing, but all of us are on the mend now. Mikey is walking at long bloody last, the other two were late walkers, but he was taking the biscuit! Erm... think that is it?

Oh no the biggie (no Diege I'm not pg!), have decided when I've finished the diploma, (hopefully September-ish) I am going to try and do a couple of jobs, just to dip my toes in and get some proper experience before I take on the degree (if I get the grades to get on the degree courses). It's all a bit up in the air at the moment because of childcare, and I've not looked into the legal side of things; tax, insurance etc. but I am really quite excited!! This time next year, if things go to plan I might actually be doing a little work, no more stuck staying at home for me!!

Right, really must try to get some sleep, have been doing the food shop, and am now starving! If I stay awake much longer I'll be raiding the fridge! G'night all xxx

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/06/2010 10:35

GruffaloSoldier · 02/06/2010 11:57

Hi all! Hope everyone having a nice half term. sorry been awol for a few days but been cleaning house as my sister and 7yo DNiece is coming to stay today!

I have also been having the strangest AF! (TMI!!! ALERT) I usually bleed for 7 days pretty much constant, heavy and then tails off for last couple of days. well this week I started Sat am when I went to the loo, but there was barely anything there for first 2 days, then it increased a bit with some small clots, then just spotted for another day and now it has completly gone. all very strange. then yesterday had really sore boobs which I still have today and had more cramps this morning.

anyway, I have tested this morning and BFN so don't think its pg. should I just put this down to a weird period or go see a dr?? maybe could be infection or something?

NJ - glad to have you back and great things going well.

Bumps - hope wedding goes smoothly and you get good weather!

Ses - hope you resolve the ttc thing soon!

oh GC has woken! hopefully back in a bit!

NatalieJane · 02/06/2010 14:32

Hello again

Bump, good luck with the wedding - sound's like fun

Tink (I guess?!! ), Hope you are having a lovely relaxing day, looks like the weather is picking up!

Gruff, I'd say if it isn't smelly and you're not running a fever, then wait and see what next month is like, but any signs of the above, or just general unwellness, then go see the doc. Enjoy your visitors

Have been very busy bee, and should still be being a busy bee, but I need a break! Not had a single thing to eat or drink today, so that is the next thing, and then back to it, this assignment is huge!!

www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/phones/pay-monthly/lg/intouch-max- gw620/overview/

NatalieJane · 02/06/2010 16:43

Tink, could it be to do with what type of erm, sanitary wear? Ahem.

Moving on, my phone is due for changing next month, but after the last 8 months of it not working I am just going to be happy with which ever one works!! Must admit as well, I always end up trawling through loads of phones and debating this and that, I get it, play with it for an hour, and then chuck it in my bag and it barely sees the light of day again till it needs changing again So, cut a long story short, I am no help Tink! There are loads of review sites though, might be worth a look?

NatalieJane · 02/06/2010 16:44

P.S. where is everyone? It's very quiet on here.

P.P.S. Tink, The Shoe is fantastic!!

essenceofSES · 02/06/2010 17:56

Hello!

Nat - welcome back Sounds like you've been v busy and v clever

tink - I have an iPhone and couldn't be without it now.
I sometimes suffer with ingrown hairs in my ladygarden Can be v painful.

Bumps - how exciting, a wedding! Bet DD will look really cute as a flower girl

Gruff - hope you have a great time with DSis and DNiece.

ttc - had a big conversation last night with DH see http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/relationships/976151-What-can-I-do-to-help-DH-feel-better here (if you have half an hour to read through my essay!)

Today I've been trying to get my head round not ttc for 6 months and enjoying life as a family of 3 instead.
I do think one of my worst faults is this nasty little competitive voice in my head. Does anyone else have this? It makes me put far too much pressure on myself. I get it in all parts of my life - work and home. In this instance it makes me want to be able to ttc asap and be the first in our NCT group to be pg again. WHY???!!! Don't get me wrong, I do want to ttc now for all the right reasons but the added competitiveness just piles the pressure on.

Does that make any sense??!

essenceofSES · 02/06/2010 18:16

Sorry -if anyone's inclined, the link is here

Diege · 02/06/2010 19:49

Just a quickie as hectotic here with trying to get them all bed. Had a great day in Southport, though a good few squid lighter and only day 3 of the hols!
NAT, great to here from you,and glad that you seem so cheery and motivated with the course. Think your plans sound ace
GRUFF, agree with NAT- could be one of those odd cycles, maybe even an annovulatory (sp?) one that can give a weird af (we all have 1 in 12 apparently??). Having said that,it was a normal cycle length wasn't it? Just waffling..I wouldn't particularly worry tbh. I've had a few like that and things have returned ok the next month.
SES, hmm bit of a nightmare for you at the moment. I've had a peek at the thread and think you're actually behaving pretty rationally and totally reasonably considering all the investment we place in ttc and the obvious disappointment you must have had when dh changed his mind.OK, so obviously you both need to be totally 100% agreed, but hey you're only human and have behaved a lot better than I would . I certainly wouldn;t stop mentioning the gripes about non-related ttc thingds to dh - that would make you a bit stepford and be very odd. I think it would dig away at me a bit like picking a scab, and I'd probably end up wanting to talk about it all the time...if you think you've got to the bottom of it though, and dh is truly speaking his mind and not just stalling, might be best to drop the subject- 6 mths isn't long at all. This is the sensible approach,I would pick away and then probably be very naughty and sneak in a gof at the 'wrong'time (I didn't say that, that's terrible advice...
Right,I really am rambling now and LOs bedtime no closer.Hi to TINKS (by 'lady garden' do you mean lawn or soil? Makes a difference? )God that's awful - sorry Hi BUMPS, wedding sounds fun! Hi GIRAFFE, CANT, MMM,and everyone else I've forgotten!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 02/06/2010 21:02

Evening. Watching BGT, anyone else? It's a bit pants tbh!

Need to get DD2 some summer rompers from next on Friday, DH is taking me. He starts his 12 day holiday on fri. Kids are off till Monday, my birthday is a week on fri, going to sandcastle then on the sat having a BBQ and footy day.

Not really managed to catch up but should hopefully be back to normal once DH is back at work & kids back at school/nursery.

NatalieJane · 03/06/2010 06:59

Good morning

Ses, I think, as annoying and as dissapointing as it is, you just have to give him some time. With him saying about the 2 year age gap, he obviously isn't about to completely change his mind, just that he is feeling the pressure and needs a bit of time to cool down. I know it is really difficult for you, but try not to blame him, if you went ahead now with his worries all backed up, he'd be fit to burst by the end of the year. I think the competitiveness is pretty much normal, everyone has something they want to be first/best/bigger/smaller(!) at, that's just life. Re. bringing the TTC chat up or not, I think you have to, it is something that is very important to you, and in the depths somewhere it is to him as well obviously, but just watch out that you don't bring it up in anger or in any way to make him feel guilty, that wouldn't help at all. Best thing is to keep talking, don't let resentment creep in, you can still dream of your DC2, it will still happen, and the less pressure you create for him, the sooner it will happen I think.

Diege, we're heading to Southport tomorrow, my poor children, I've been working all week, they've had the run of the house and garden, but barely seen the outside So, tomorrow is my day off, and they're day of freedom!

NatalieJane · 03/06/2010 06:59

they're their

GiraffeYoga · 03/06/2010 07:57

Morning

Nat- enjoy Southport

Diege- amused about the grass/soil analogy. Hope everything is OK Tink. Maybe get it looked at?

Gruff- that sounds really odd- keep an eye on it for now and see how it goes next month. Hope you are enjoying half term with DH?

Ses- sorry for the TTC chat- I posted on the other thread. Hope you get some more advice

Hi everyone else- hope you are all ok.

Diege · 03/06/2010 08:56

Morning! Enjoy Southport NAT - it was crazy yesterday, and the weather will no doubt tip it in that direction today. It was a fun day though, and I'm sure you'll have a ball IOh and can we out you on the list for Manchester meet we mentioned ages ago?
Hi GIRAFFE, hope all is well x
Back later - have dd1,2 and ds at home today,ds not a happy bunny, and have the hairdresser due any minute. Will be quite stressful I think! How I long for hairdressing visits in salons, with coffee and mags!

Diege · 03/06/2010 08:56

put you on the list that should be!
