'samantha have you told everyone? If I tell dds then the whole town will know !

Vikks · 14/03/2010 13:32

Jennimoo I hope it?s not the start of things to come! Probably the stress of the move, look after yourself.

Abigailsparty & SilverSky Welcome!

Nymphadora Are you ok today? Any pains?

Happy Mother?s Day Ladies!!!!
DH has been so lovely today, I got a card; ?thank you for carrying our ?bean?? and some choc?s. Plus he?s taking me out to a posh restaurant tonight; don?t know where exactly, I?ve only been told the dress code. Fun fun fun!!!
My dating scan appointment arrived yesterday too. I feel a bit greedy as this will be my third scan! I?m not really complaining . That?s two weeks tomorrow and then I?m telling the world!! You?ll find me on the rooftops with a megaphone.

Hermya321 · 14/03/2010 13:56

sam I've been having the same sort of pains, I think I'm a few days behind you as well. I'm glad someone else is having a few twinges as well.

Nymph I told one member of my extended family, now everyone knows.

Jennimoo I hope you feel better soon!!

Redheadgal · 14/03/2010 14:28

Jennimoo - sounds like you're having a stressful time. You poor thing. Are you moving far? We're moving in June and it's not going to be fun. It's hard enough deciding on a new kitchen (can't possibly cook with the existing one) and I've put my foot down about having it installed while we're living there.

Nymph - we told my stepdaughter (DSD?) who's 8 very early on. We were worried that it might cause some friction as she's an only child and doesn't live with us full-time. But she's very excited and keeps talking about names . It's 'our' baby she says (like it was 'our' wedding!).

Redheadgal · 14/03/2010 14:29

p.s. Vikks - enjoy tonight How lovely!

SamanthaB123 · 14/03/2010 14:38

nymph the girls have been really good and haven't told anyone. We talked to them about mc and waiting for the scan. They seemed to understand and are taking it all very seriously. They're not sure why they can't come to the scan though . DD1 is a bit older and is currently reading the baby bible. Cute...

Hermya321 · 14/03/2010 14:46

Sam Aww bless your DD1 sounds very cute!

jennimoo · 14/03/2010 15:37

Not moving far at all, about ten miles. We need a new kitchen before baby comes, although the one there is ok enough to live with for a few months. However straight away we move in we need a wall coming down and a new boiler!

I'm not feeling too bad now, and trying to rest in the hope I won't throw up the same time tomorrow, as I'm at work by then!

dontstopmenow · 14/03/2010 15:48

Eeek - my scan is tomorrow afternoon. Am very excited and nervous at the same time. I have all my fingers and toes crossed that everything will be fine obviously. My blood pressure has been a bit on the high side so hopefully they will sort that out. I have put it down to being very tired and stressed as trying to write a dissertation at the mo. Ho hum. It is very dull!

Have a lovely rest of mummies day ladies. I shall be posting as soon as I get back the results of scan - EEEK again!

wateraddict · 14/03/2010 16:35

Another 12 week scan for tomorrow - I'm due at 8.30am. It takes me so long to get out of bed I think I'll need a 6.30am alarm even though antenatal is 7 mins drive lol! Good luck dontstopmenow, all crossed for us both and all upcoming scans for everyone.

I was dreaming all sorts and it's tailing off, I am so disappointed. I'm missing my in-built entertainment system. Please tell me they do come back at some point...

Happy Mother's Day all x

Nymphadora · 14/03/2010 18:12

Good luck to all the people going for scans!

Whoever asked about pains- yes I an still v achy and had a couple of stabbing ones. I seem to need to lay down during the day , sitting isn't enough.

Long day of meetings tomorrow. Starting at 11:00 and finishing at 6pm just the 7 to fit in. me at the end =

Hermya321 · 14/03/2010 18:18

Nymph Oh take it easy tomorrow and try and take regular breaks. I've had a few achey pains as well, I know it sounds a bit TMI but are they towards your bottom. The midwife said to me that pregnancy hormones can irritate your bowels and can caused spasms. I've had a few which were a bit uncomfy. (I've had IBS in the past and it was similar to the sort of pain I had there)

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow!!!

Nymphadora · 14/03/2010 18:34

Heryma No they are across the front & mainly on the scar so that now worries me

Hermya321 · 14/03/2010 18:56

Nymph I'm taking it you've had a previous c-section? I can see why you would be worried if thats the case. Can you contact the EPU again?

Hermya321 · 14/03/2010 18:57

or just ring the antenatel unit and see if you can get some advice over the phone. If you're at the same place I'm at, they were really nice and paitent with me whenever I've had cause to ring them.

NinthWave · 14/03/2010 19:51

SeaShells, I suppose this isn't the best time to mention that I work for the Jobcentre, eh? And I'm nothing like the Little Britain sketch! Besides, 6 months Maternity Leave on full pay is nowt to be sniffed at

IMHO we're good for sorting benefits but not so hot at finding people actual employment, though we actually don't have any control over who chooses to use JC to advertise jobs, and who doesn't.

Aaaaanyway. My mum was up for the weekend which was lovely - got lots of help looking after DS. I was woken up this morning with a handmade card/painting and some flowers picked from our garden...so lovely

Good luck all those with scans tomorrow/this week...mine's on Tuesday...

hermya 2 sections. They said when I went that it will just keep hurting whilst I'm stretching & growing. If it is bad for long periods etc to o back but odd ones which I'm getting should be ok. What I have just realised (and hence the worrying ) is that I will be growing until October....

ninthwave I found the jobcentre much better when it had the little cards you copied the numbers off.
When I was jobhunting for the first time in 12 years and found it didn't have those anymore I was and even more when I realised I had to depend on the website that can't work out I can't walk on water to escape my peninsula!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 14/03/2010 21:33

Lol ninthwave!! I was making sweeping generalisations I know, but I have met some real characters there, none of whom strike me as a mner

trust me, I envy anyone with a civil servanty type job. My last vet job got me stat mat pay and leave only and a whole load of discrimation and hassle before I went on mat leave... You terms sound utopic!

Happy mothers day everyone and welcome newbies: make yourselves at home.

NinthWave · 14/03/2010 21:57

LOL don't worry, as you can prob imagine, I'veheard a lot worse

SilverSky · 14/03/2010 22:05

I too have had some pains. Odd occasional stabbing ones, which happen after exercise! putting it down to overdoing it. Will mention to mw when I see her in two weeks time. Tho am hoping its just growing pains. Since having them I have tried to take it easier. Hard when I have so many responsibilities.

Everything is a worry at times.

I am watching last weeks MasterChef. Making me hungry!

SilverSky · 14/03/2010 22:08

thanks for all the welcomes. Sorry but I finished off the mini eggs! Couldnt resist!

Hermya321 · 15/03/2010 07:26

Nymph Oh dear, I think I would be a bit anxious in your position as well. I hope that it gets a bit better for you. Did it happen in your previous pregnancy?

Ninth Wow, your maternity leave isn't anything to be sniffed at.

Silver You finished all the mini eggs?? (sniff)Oh well.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 15/03/2010 10:00

Its ok girls, the chocolate is back!

Effilump · 15/03/2010 10:43

Good morning ladies, do you mind if I join you? I have been lurking for a while but didnt want to join until was more confident with the pregnancy, I had a private scan at the weekend and everythings looking good so far! 9weeks today due on the 18th oct.
Hope everyone had a lovely relaxing Mothers Day.

Meanbeansmum · 15/03/2010 11:22
