Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Meanbeansmum · 12/03/2010 09:30

Hi all, found you.

Just had my scan date through! Not long now! The next week is going to drag lol!

Nymph, great news!!!!

I've been having a wobble, my beautiful friend had some sad baby news yesterday and it's made me feel very unsure about my scan. Dh keeps trying to tell me not to worry but I am worried. want this baby so much.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 09:39

After 10 weeks of no MS I feel really nauseous this am. Remind never to complain about lack of symptoms again.

I also look like I'm beginning to show - I will never get a job at this rate!! Not even a temp one

Now I definately need to go to sainsbury's with all this talk of trifle - how can you feel so sick and yet quite happy to eat the contents of the fridge?

IloveGH - I hope the scan goes well. Thanks to your name I have rejected BallyK for House during my 1 hr flop in the pm when ds is asleep -I like his style I only wish I had hours to think of diagnoses instead of seconds

Ivytheterrible - lol at the mother's day card

Redheadgal · 12/03/2010 09:53

11 weeks today!

SSOTSS - that's just my question - is anybody else starting to show? My friend told me I was last night, my reckon she mistook my belly for baby.

Am envious of all you ladies' chat about midwives. I've met up with mine, but we're planning on moving in mid June so am going to have completely new midwife etc. Has anybody else moved mid pregnancy? Would love some advice. We're heading down next week to scope out houses and health centres - as I'm a newbie, is there anything I should be particularly looking for?

Ivytheterrible - loving the card

loobyboo · 12/03/2010 10:04

like the thread title.

latest on the leg cramps, i've had a blood test this morning to check whether i have any blood clots in my body, get the results this afternoon, i'm sure it will be ok i,m just glad that my concerns are being look at.

The latest on the family is that when my brother got back from the hospital he had been lock out but the house was in darkness, the curtains still open and could get no answer. It turns out when he was leaving for the hospital yesterday she was swallowing pills in front of him, so you can understand his concerns when he got no answer, so he call the police. they turned up with a ambulance, but it turn out ok she was just sat in the dark and she had taken 8 paracetemols with brandy. I hope the fact that the police turn up will shock her in to getting her self sorted and that we do care about her. (lots of crying done lastnight)

so lots of happy thoughts today i feel.

Nymphadora · 12/03/2010 10:24

redheadgirl I have an expanded waist line (can't quite say bump!) in the last few days.
I don't have much in the way of stomach muscles so will show quickly anyway. I can now feel the internal scar which I couldn't before so things have moved upwards. Lots of jeans got tight all of a sudden last weekedn. And I actually haven't eaten that much!

Off out now for my trifle though

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 10:24

RedHeadGirl - I moved at 30weeks with ds at about 5 weeks with bump....feel free to ask away!

Check out the NHS choices website - all the maternity services in your new area are listed and rated, so you can see whats on offer. Ask MNers. check out ofsted for nursery/school ratings again to give you an idea of areas if you want to stay longer term. Contact surestart centres for and idea of activities and check out googlemaps so you rent/buy somewhere near a park to play in.

I was lucky as I moved to an area with a fab MW, they repeated all my tests again. You can go for tours around hosp/MLU etc when you are there.

HTH, feel free to ask anything!

Have you discovered Globrix? really fab property search website with ofsted links etc integrated.

As you tell, I've moved a few too many times!

Redheadgal · 12/03/2010 10:34

SSOTSS - marvellous! Thanks for the advice. We've done the Ofsted research and are happy with the area we've picked - we're gonna live near the seaside! Good idea about NHS Choices & Surestart though. Would really like to have a tour of the hosp - I'll have had my scans where we're living now so it would nice to familiarise myself with the hosp down there.

Nymph - so glad, I thought it was just payback for being so tired to go to the gym recently

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 10:41

Where are you moving to? My name in in honour of our v recent move to the seaside - we love it! Can't see us moving for a LONG time now (and that is saying something!)

Liking the new thread

Great news Nymph, congratulations!

Just wanted to share the wonder I am feeling since I started using acupressure sea sickness bands this week. I can actually function (spent all of last Saturday in bed) and feel far less sick. It may just be easing off as I am nearly 12 weeks but I daren't do without them. Worth a try if you haven't yet, goodness I wish I did that earlier.

I've taken today off to get some rest as I was struggling at work and I still woke up early, boo. Best go and use my day indulgently

Redheadgal · 12/03/2010 10:56

SeaShells - we've moving from Cambridge to Whitstable. Any locals on here?

Welcome to Wateraddict!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 11:00

Not that immediately spring t mind but post in the locals section. Whitstable is lovely - but miles from my patch of surf I'm afraid so can't advise on specifics.

Vikks · 12/03/2010 11:36

Wateraddict Glad you?re feeling more human .

Seashells & Nymphadora Expanding waist line here too! I?m getting very paranoid; I?ve noticed a few of my staff members looking at my tummy. I?m beginning to think that nobody is going to be surprised when I tell them!
I have trifle in my fridge (not for long)!

Loobyboo Good Luck with the results.

NinthWave Only close family and my boss/friend know at the moment, I?m trying to hold out until 12 weeks. I?m feeling quite confident after two good scans. What about you?

I need to confess??I brought some baby clothes! Slap my wrist and tell me to wait until 12! I just couldn?t stop myself (first baby, that?s my excuse)???.

Vikks · 12/03/2010 11:38

Bought PG Head!

DillyDora · 12/03/2010 12:26

Wateraddict I'm seriously wondering about trying the bands. The thing is I most need them at work but people will seeeeee! I don't know what to do - teaching is getting tricky when the nausea is bad and the world swims in and out of focus a bit. I am really grateful I'm not actually throwing up but I had to deliver a lecture through and Extra Strong Mint yesterday! They probably think I'm hungover!

loobyloo so, so sorry about all the family stuff, big hugs, hope it gets sorted. Good luck with test results, girly.

Have a good day, all
xx

Nymphadora · 12/03/2010 13:01

Been tidying drawers & chucking stuff out!
An aching now so rest time!

tinywelsh · 12/03/2010 13:26

Hello, just want to get my name on the list. I've noticed a bit of podge developing also, i'd like to blame the bean but i think it's probably the excessive amounts of crisps and boiled sweets i've been inhaling to beat the ms feeling.
I've been using the sea bands for a couple of weeks and while they haven't entirely got rid of the ms, they have made it manageable. I can now go through an entire bus journey without haveing to shove my head next to an open window.

Woo hoo managed to keep dinner down last night which is handy as we're supposed to be going to a dinner party tonight. Don't want to offend our hosts by puking up the dinner they spent hours slaving over

I used the sea bands when PG with DS and kept getting asked what they were while i was working. I had previously been a smoker so lied and said they were something to help with the craving. Trouble was i had all the office girls asking where i got them and had to come clean in the end.

Loobyloo Hope everything works out at home

welcome wateraddict

floozietoozie · 12/03/2010 14:34

Nymph great news on the scan.

good luck to ILGH for yours. By the way, the midwife and doctor both said 30th for my EDD not 29th so we could be due date buddies after all. I'll see what the dating scan says. I'm 7 weeks today, although I've got a bit confused again about dating - my period was seven weeks ago today, so does that mean I should say I'm seven plus one today, or do you just ignore the first day of the period in counting?

We told my mum last night. She is over the moon for us, especially as it (fx) means I won't need IVF now. She was worried about that, she said. I have sworn her to secrecy until I've had the scan but she's good at keeping quiet.

Hermya321 · 12/03/2010 14:35

I've not got a podge yet, in fact I've lost weight and my trousers are looser. That ones down to bad nausea though, fab thing that it is. By all accounts I'm a bit of a rake to be honest. I spent the majority of my teen and early twenties hidden away in studios perfecting my groove techniques (not that I'm doing anything with it now). But I would have thought I would have noticed a change before now.

floozietoozie · 12/03/2010 14:37

Oh yes, I meant to suggest this before - when I was on a MN ante-natal thread last time, we set up a separate thread just for the EDD list, so you could put a watch on it and look at it easily rather than having to scroll back through the thread to find it. What do you think?

floozietoozie · 12/03/2010 14:39

Hermya, as it's your first, you may not show for yonks. I didn't tell people in work until I was 20 weeks last time and it was a surprise to them all. (I'm quite slender too).

Nymphadora · 12/03/2010 14:45

I have lost weight and got my waist looking better . My expanding bit is spot on around the button of my jeans

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 14:55

Right, Arrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have spent all day job hunting/trying to sort the mess that is my life out (which is why I have posted on MN more times today than any previous day) and I am now stuck.

I know I can not get work in my field whilst pregnant with out massively burning bridges...

So,
what work can a pregnant lady who is new to an area, with too many degrees, but willing to do anything, do part time for a few months so I get my maternity allowance and can relaunch my career next year?

Seriously girls, I need suggestions!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 16:41

Doh! I scared you all off, don't worry, no need to answer, I was just ranting at the awkward situation I'm in!
