Jetlag Nymphadora! Probably not PG linked!

Got the news on monday that bean has Edwards Syndrome. Started to look it up but couldn't take it. I've spoken to a consultant, they have informed me that the rapid results are only 99% accurate so I'm going to wait until the full culture results come in in two weeks. Wishful thinking I know, but just like the odds on chromosome problems, someone has to be that 1%.

I'm still wishing best of luck to everyone and I'm so glad there are so many good results. Just hoping I can be back on here some time in the future with a healthy bean.

KSal · 14/04/2010 09:25

tinywelsh, i'm so sorry to hear that. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that 1% for you.... make sure you get support in RL and on MN. There's going to be lots of other people who are/have been through similar

SamanthaB123 · 14/04/2010 09:25

Tinywelsh I'm really sorry to hear your news, I had a quick look to see what Edwards Syndrome was as I hadn't heard of it before. It seems very serious. I hope that you've got someone to take care of you and to help you...I am thinking of you and sending much love, SB

Hermya321 · 14/04/2010 09:51

Tiny I'm so sorry to hear your news, I'll be praying that you'll be in that one percent. I hope you have lots of support round you and that you'll be back on here in no time.

AbFabT · 14/04/2010 10:06

tiny, I am so sorry to hear you have this to deal with. I just can't imagine how you deal with something like this. Hope you are getting lots of support and extra love in RL. I believe there is a special board on MN you can discuss this with other parents who have gone through similar.
Best regards
Abi x

Nymphadora · 14/04/2010 10:39

(((((Tiny)))) Sorry to hear your news. I have seen others on MN talking about Edwards before so there must be others that have been through that.

SamanthaB123 · 14/04/2010 10:48

Hello , after all the excitement yesterday I feel rubbish today. I woke up feeling sick again and cannot get going. I'm supposed to be working at home, and am getting near deadlines, yet all I seem to be able to do is sleep. I just feel exhausted. What is that all about? This is a disaster! DD's are overdosing on wii and tv while I snooze on the sofa. I'm going away for the next two days on an intensive residential course for my masters, how will I survive if I can't manage to get dressed today? In fact I don't suppose that I've done the work that I should have for tomorrow. Ooof.

When is your scan Nymph? It must be soon now surely?

SamanthaB123 · 14/04/2010 10:51

Oh, also, when we start the new thread (whoever does it), can we have the link to the due dates page in the subject box so that it appears at the top of every page of the thread? I never know where it is!

Elsa123 · 14/04/2010 11:01

Tiny- thats pants, but I love your attitude. I think you're right to make doubly doubly sure. Very distressing none the less and we are here for you- this is an ante-natal thread for everyone, no matter how rubbish the situation. Thinking of you x x x

Samantha- wouldn't have a clue how to do that, hopefully someone with more skills can do it! I hope you feel perked up soon.

DillyDora · 14/04/2010 11:13

tiny I'm so sorry to hear your news. Hope you'll be in the 1% and that you're getting all the support you need. The two weeks wait seems like a long time so I hope you have plenty of support and I'll be thinking of you.

xxx

Hermya321 · 14/04/2010 11:36

Right I took a dive and started a new thread

Sam I think Nymph is having her scan today.

Nymphadora · 14/04/2010 11:39

samB had it this am but didn't feel I should follow straight on from reading Tinys post.

Got in at 8:50 for a 9 am appointmentBaby was facing head outwards so difficult to get a proper view for ages. She ended up poking it right in my side to get a side view. Got some pics, DH v excited but I didn't think they were that great. Going to tell kids tonight then its a free for all over who tells who! My Mam seems to be stalking me until I give her permission to spread the news

Yay not last now! Should have been the 4th but am at work and as its half term I'm V busy.

How are people dealing with appointments/work? I work pt and its quite flexible so at the moment I work appointments into my days off. There is part of me that feels that I shouldn't faff about changing them and just take them in work time if thats when they fall but then there is the travel 1/2 hour+ each way.....

Hermya321 · 14/04/2010 11:42

People we are ignoring my last post because I mucked it up and mispelled pumpkins, This is the new thread!

Sorry .

ILoveGregoryHouse · 14/04/2010 17:53

Tiny so very sorry. I read up on Edwards after DS3's soft marker in the 20 week anomaly scan. It is scary and I understand you stopping reading about it. I so hope you are in that 1%.

lilmissmummy · 14/04/2010 21:01

Tiny Very sorry to hear your news. Hope you are the 1% keeping fingers and toes crossed for you and sending you loads of unmnetty hugs xx
