My friend was dancing at my wedding at 8.5m but I don't think anything stops her enjoying herself!

Re food-went out last night and the winding lanes & trifle weren't a good combo so no more trifle. I have just put a request in that dh gets me some potato waffles as I fancy them with beans.

Saw alice in wonderland in3d Last night and wholey recommend it btw

Lulabell · 13/03/2010 16:17

Sorry I haven't been on for ages. I'm going to mark my place in the hope that I have more time for chatting soon!

Had a quick scan of it all and glad to see that things are looking positive on the whole

SamanthaB123 · 13/03/2010 16:36

Hi everyone,

Have just got home from exhausting shopping trip...none of my skirts or trousers do up any more. Eight and a half weeks pregnant and a pot belly bump. Very happy in my gap maternity jeans . Was worried about buying things before the scan but couldn't wait as had nothing to wear. Still feel sick all the time so I'm hopeful everything is going well. Waiting for scan date still, hopefully will hear next week. Shagged out the whole time still too, when it's my turn I am so going to bloom...can't wait . Anyone else with a baby bump?

Hermya321 · 13/03/2010 16:44

Samantha Aww bless, you have a baby bump. I can't wait to bloom either, I feel rubbish at the moment.

IloveGH I'm going to be very pregnant at my friends wedding in September, but I'll boogy along with the best of them and maybe stick a hospital bag in the boot just in case.

I think the blob is having a growth spurt, my tummy is a bit achey today.

Elsa123 · 13/03/2010 17:05

Hello all- lovely to hear people are doing well- I have a belly bloat as opposed to specific bump. I don't think its too bad, but my DH thinks I have a definite belly. It calmed a bit last week, but I am one giant windbag. Processed foods work best for my bloat and I don't mean plastic cheese, I mean veg soup as opposed to plain veg otherwise I am one dreadful gaseous mass!

tiredfeet · 13/03/2010 17:32

exciting to be buying maternity clothes samantha totally agree with you about wanting to bloom. I already had a bit of a baby bump before I got pregnant so can't wait to have a good excuse for my belly! Also looking forward to the excuse to go clothes shopping, I would probably need to go soonish but the sickness means I've lost weight (everywhere except my belly) and any way I'm living in my pyjamas mainly... on the plus side I get to eat ice cream all day and not put on weight

ILGH glad the scan went well.

floozietoozie · 13/03/2010 17:50

ooh, I've got a wedding to go to in September too, but I'll be leaving the outfit buying until VERY last minute, as last time round I already had had DS by that stage. Fingers crossed I get to go to this one.

What a lovely day today has been. We took DS cycling in the park then I took him to the playpark later and it's just been fab. Am really hoping all the exercise will see him sleep through the night.

Hello Silversky. Congrats on your pg and btw you are so not an old fart .

Better go and sort out dinner I guess. Have a nice Mother's Day tomorrow everyone. DP is not the sort to get "presents from baby" so I'm not expecting anything but we're taking my mum out with my sister and nieces so that will be nice if ms doesn't get in the way. Have felt a bit better on that front today, I think because despite the wake up I did go to bed v early and got a lot of sleep, and also I've managed my eating a bit better today. At least I hope that's what it is!

Redheadgal · 13/03/2010 17:59

ILGH and SeaShells - thanks for the advice ladies - i'm going to check out the sites although floozie is probably right, hang fire until I know I'm going. Thankfully I know several doctors who will be in attendance at the wedding should anything happen .

Went shopping this afternoon too - got some lovely 'in between' stuff, for when I'm at that 'just looking fat' stage as opposed to definitely pregnant.

Nymph - not sure about the trifle thing, but currently heading my list of must-have-foods are profiteroles

Hermya321 · 13/03/2010 18:28

Tiredfeet Yeah I've lost weight due to the sickness as well, it's not a nice feeling. All my clothes are looser at the moment, on the other hand at least I know they'll last a bit longer.

tiredfeet · 13/03/2010 18:34

oh poor you Hermya I hate thinking of other people suffering hopefully the end will be in sight for us soon though, most people I've spoken to say they were feeling better by about 12 weeks, I'm really hoping thats the case

abigailsparty · 13/03/2010 18:49

Hello fellow pumpkin smugglers

I thought it was about time I said hello, I've been following the thread for a while but a combination of shock at being pregnant and feeling unbelievably sick all the time has prevented me so far!

This is my second baby, DD has just turned two but this one wasn't exactly planned so soon... DH and I are of course still over the moon.

It's nice to finally say hello, I hope you don't mind me joining in!

I'll post my due date in the list...

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 13/03/2010 18:58

Another one here who has lost weight but my bump is quite prominent because of it. Praying those of us who've been ill all feel better by 12 weeks (that means next week for me fx).

My cousin is getting married in Ireland on 24th Sept but really don't think i'll be going. I was 5 days early with DS so cutting it a bit fine. Wouldn't want to steal her thunder and start my contractions just as the priest asks if anyone objects to the marriage . My parents will have to fly over with DS as he is supposed to be a page boy.

Really tried to tidy and clean my pigsty house today. It has nearly killed me. What would normally take me half an hour has taken near enough all day. I had to keep stopping for a rest! I have given in and booked a cleaner for Monday. I just can't bare the mess and filth a moment longer and after weeks of build up while i was so sick i just can't cope doing it all myself. Feels like i'm cheating though.

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 13/03/2010 19:00

Welcome abigailsparty

pookey · 13/03/2010 19:03

Hi all been feeling poorly this week and just finding it difficult to get motivated and arrange playdates do housework etc. DP also had an eye op this week so I have been on eye drop duty all week.

No go with my plans to eat healthily, I feel sick so am eating badly but not actually being sick. So feel rubbish and getting fatter!

floozietoozie I hope your ds sleeps well tonight! I def notice a correlation between lack of sleep and morning sickness, in addition although I have weaned my dd I still get randomn blocked ducts so that compounds the grottiness with a thumping headache.

Readheadgal I have been indulging in chocolate eclairs today, my friend came round for lunch with her baby and thoughtfully brought cream cakes

Elsa feeling bloated here too think its because I am overeating to try and block out ms.

Samantha I am struggling with my jeans, excited by thought of maternity jeans from gap though! maternity clothes have improved so much in five years since first pg!

AbFabT · 13/03/2010 19:23

Hi, All

And hi, abigailsparty - is your name Abigail? If so, snap!

We've just told my in-laws, they are over the moon. We tell my brothers on Monday, and then that's the main family told.
MIL said she had no sickness with any of her four, and my mum was the same, so maybe I am just lucky with regards that.

Still not big either, so no one's guessing.

Happy Mothers' Day, Ladies.
x

Elsa123 · 13/03/2010 19:34

pookey-apparently increased levels of progesterone relax the muscles of the gut making digestion sluggish and trapped wind etc becomes more common...lovely!

I'm providing an updated list because I updated my EDD a while ago, but its the old list and there is a dear old poster no longer contributing and I wouldn't want her to see her name back on the list and think we'd forgotten- she did ask for it to be removed. So here it is. BTW I like the idea about the list going on a separate thread too! I hope for those feeling really bad with ms that it goes at week 12.

Welcome Abigailsparty congratulations!

Hi AbFab, no, Abigail's not my real name, I just love 'Abigails Party', the Mike Leigh TV play with Alison Steadman from the 70's! Have you seen it? It's fab.
Love the name Abigail though, it's the name of one of my best friends and also another friends daughter, so thumbs up!

Forgot to mention that I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and have my booking in appt on Monday and my first scan on April Fools Day - brilliant!

SilverSky · 13/03/2010 20:16

We have a wedding to go to at the end of July and I will be 29 weeks, and being as my boobs are already massive, I dreads to think what they are going to be like then, no doubt I will be back here asking for help in suggestions!

Wrap dresses seem to be the way to go but not sure I like the split etc, but I'll have to wait and make a purchase right at the last minute to ensure that I can actually fit in said dress at the right time!

SilverSky · 13/03/2010 20:19

Elsa I am having terrible wind, sadly its not staying trapped but expelling at any given opportunity!!

Hi to abigailsparty

had an interesting 10minutes here earlier. Got really bad pain earlier & doubled over, it went v quickly bug had to call dh from kitchen to help me sit down. During this dd2 asked dh if I was pg dd1 instantly dismissed it rabbiting on about mummys sore knee(despite me holding my stomach). Dh eventually asked her why she thought that & she said cos I'm always tired & falling over! Dd1 wasstill denying it at that point so we managed to avoid telling her but should be interesting trying to hold out!

BTW is anyone getting achy hips?

AbFabT · 13/03/2010 21:33

abigailsparty, glad you approve of the name! I love your username!

Yes, I've seen the film, didn't love it, which is a shame, as it's my name, but didn't hate it either. Maybe I need to watch it again - I saw it so long ago, I think at the time I would have been better off at the actual Abigail's party (the teenager one happening next door). Maybe I'll appreciate it more now!

Love your EDD - 10/10/10 would be cool.

I have a feeling I might land in September, as my mum carried all of us ever so slightly early.

Hermya321 · 13/03/2010 22:11

Gosh everyone seems to be looking forward to the 12 week mark for the easing of the sickness symptoms. Well tbh i'm right there with you.

Welcome to the the thread Abigailsparty!

jennimoo · 14/03/2010 09:12

OMG! I was just sick for the first time, at 10+3! I think it might be related to lack of sleep and stress though, I was going to post about my eventful week today anyway...
Thursday- eventually persuaded solicitors to set a moving date, 2 weeks from this day (12 weeks exactly!)
Friday- packed car in the morning as was visiting MIL for weekend. DH was meeting me after I finished work for us to drive up. He called mid morning to say he'd been asked to go to the US on Sunday for the week (he's never travelled for work before, let alone abroad!)

So I haven't slept that well and am a little stressed, especially as I'll have to handle everything to do with the move!

Still in shock at being sick though, as thought til yesterday symptoms were easing!

SamanthaB123 · 14/03/2010 12:54

Hello all,

Yuk, so tired of feeling sick now...I'm only 8+4 so a way to go. With my previous pregnancies my symptoms didn't disappear at 12 weeks either. They sort of tailed off over the next month - improving all the time and I was clear by about 16 weeks.

The baby did the Sainsbury's shopping today , very happy with the choice of products !

Nymph I have all manner of weird aches and pains, some in the hip area, lower abdomen, back, boobs...the whole range really. Guess there's loads of growing going on. I've not had any stabbing pain though, just dull hanging around pains. We have told DD's - weeks ago in fact. I was so miserable and it has been so much easier that they know. We're quite open minded and have talked to them about the risk of mc. They are beside themselves with excitement, choosing prams and stuff on the internet. This is a wonderful experience for them. They have also been so helpful and have looked after me brilliantly. They cooked sausages and mash on Friday for dinner because I was so tired. It was edible too ! I'm so proud of them, it's really brought out the best in them!

Anyway, hope all having a lovely mother's day, SB
