shieldbug, does it smell? It could be an infection. Get doc to swab you.

Tyson86 · 09/04/2010 15:41

Shieldbug I havent had discharge like what you are describing and when i MC it was brown discharge so doubt that is what is going on, but i would phone again, its a long weekend to be worrying and that is no good for baby, who cares if they think your high maintenance.

I took Ds out today, he is 22 months old now and took him to the local park to see the birds and go to the cafe, got knackered so quickly, had only been out 2 1/2 hours.

floozietoozie · 09/04/2010 18:19

Last time, I had four or five weeks annual leave to take so was planning a nice relaxing paid month before starting mat leave at the last possible day.... Best laid plans and all that! I'm going to cast that up to DS for the rest of his life. I think we brought him home from hospital at five weeks old a few days after this gloriously restful month was supposed to start.

Hermya321 · 09/04/2010 18:21

Shieldbug I've had discharge like that throughout my pregnancy and I did some reading around it and as long as it doesn't smell you should be ok. I also think that sometimes pregnancy vitimins can play a part in the colouring of discharge as well. That was what my reading around told me anywho.

shieldbug · 09/04/2010 19:10

cheers for replies. I am on pregnancy vitamins so it might be that. If it keeps happening, I might make a drs appt for next week. Thankfully no nasty niff so may not be infection.

Hope everybody has a good weekend - anybody doing anything exciting?

AbFabT · 09/04/2010 19:47

Ha ha, floozie, yes, I didn't think about the early arrivals!

Can't advise, shieldbug, but I would always say if you are worried, get thee to the doctor. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

Chilled weekend here, have got a birthday do to go to tomorrow night, but that's about it.
Haven't got a garden really, just a small patio area, I might give it a good clear-up (it's full of leaves from next door), but otherwise, chill.

SilverSky · 10/04/2010 13:38

Hello everyone,

Tried to post yesterday but laptop kept naffing about and in the end I gave up.

I am watching the Masterchef final as I type this. I already know who won but still worth watching as its all about food!

Scan went well and recommend FMC. Money well spent, worth it for peace of mind as otherwise I'd be going stir crazy by now waiting for next week.

Its not me with the twins (thankfully!). Baby was very very active in fact so active the Dr had to spend a long time doing all the measurements.

Baby is 57mm long which is fine. Heartbeat strong. Kidneys, brain, spine and blood flow to the baby/placenta is good also.

Risk of Downs is one in 5780 something following the measurements/scan which is better than the one in 289 or something, even then the Dr said high would be one in 40. She reco'd not having any invasive tests.

MIL, SIL & BIL are now in the know but sworn to secrecy til I tell my BF next week. I also have to tell work and then it will be a case of yelling from the rooftops. At least Husband will be!

Hope everybody has superb sunshine where you are! We do!!

Nymphadora · 10/04/2010 18:30

silversky glad the scan went well!

But who is left to have the twins?

I'm home & just catching up on Dr Who,was very tight to watch the next one!

Had a good sleep on the plane and slept half way home then drove the rest.Just have to keep going until a respectable time for bed (which must be soon!)

I got my downs syndrome results in the end, low risk which is great. I gave hospital new address and they sent appointment for next scan to the right place, but results to old address! It was so quick it got there before the redirection started too, so I've only just got it!

Nymphadora your NYC holiday sounds so exciting. I've been trying to think of a holiday plan for this year, but don't fancy such a long flight!

We have started the process of decorating this new house this weekend. Decided to start with smallest and emptiest room: the nursery!

SamanthaB123 · 11/04/2010 07:06

Hi everyone,

Have been away over the Easter holiday - so many posts to catch up on...

Really sorry to hear your news tinywelsh I hope you get more info soon. Fx...

I'm still to have my 12 week scan although am already 12 + 4 today, roll on Tuesday. Having been away with friends for a week there is no way I could hide that I'm pregnant now. My bump is really prominent. So maybe I'm the one with twins - eek! I'm updating the 20 week scan list, I got both my scan dates at the same time which is maybe a bit odd.

20 week scans

meanbeansmum 5th May
seashells 17th May
AbFab 21st May
KSal 21st May
DillyDora 3rd June
SamB123 7th June
Hermya321 8th June
Xavielli 15th June

I'm delighted not to be bottom of the list! How is everyone feeling? Although it's much better I still have days with horrible nausea, as bad as it was at it's peak. Will it ever go???

Hope all well, sorry I didn't comment on everyone's news - I'm posting on my phone and there is too much having been away for a week. Hope all well, SB

SamanthaB123 · 11/04/2010 07:11

Sorry JennyMoo you disappeared off the list. Hope it's right now.

SamB my nausea is much better, but still having some yuck days. I was sick Friday morning for only the 5th time. I've been sick roughly once a week since 10 weeks! My spotty skin is clearing up too, and I am looking actually pregnant which is nice! Fingers crossed the legendary 'blooming' phase is starting!

Also, been working out dates for finishing work! Only 5months!

Nymphadora · 11/04/2010 10:02

Samb you are like me with dc3 after a big gap aren't you? My bump is quite prominent now too and still have 2 days of work to hide it before my scan & being relaxed enough to tell anyone. Even my baggy tops show it now! Can't wait to tell the kids though.

Hermya321 · 11/04/2010 14:51

I've just met a girl I know who is about 5 months pregnant and she is only now getting a very small bump. Actually it just looks like she had a large lunch. It looks like I may have to wait a while before bump makes itself known. Oh well.

Ihave a friend who had a baby prem at 26 weeks & most people didn't know she was pg as she had a tiny bump

Vikks · 11/04/2010 18:18

Hi Everyone!
I?m still here, I get just enough time to read the posts everyday but not enough to post back unfortunately. It?s great to hear of all these fabulous scans, but where?s the twins?

I read all the posts about NCT classes and that spurred me on to get some info. They sound great, we?ve got our place already and they start at the end of July. I think I would have been totally clueless if it wasn?t for you lot!

I found some great maternity trousers online from Next today. The elastic band that has been hold my trousers together broke yesterday so I think it was time! Just glad it happened at home?that could have been very embarrassing .

Anyone feeling movement yet? Over the past few days I?ve been feeling ?bubbles?, probably just wind? That?s what I?m telling myself so I don?t get too excited but it really doesn?t feel like wind. I would love to hear if anyone else is getting the same? Plus how long before baby can hear? I?m chatting to my bump all the time but have no idea if it?s just vibrations they can feel at this stage.

TinyWelsh Good luck with your results x

Hermya You might not have to wait 5 month to get your bump, it?s my first PG too and I?m there already!

Wish I could add my 20 week scan date but still waiting?.have a good week everyone! Vx

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 11/04/2010 18:48

Hi vikks, was wondering where you'd got to!

Re bumps, it varies so much, even at term I looked exactly the same from behind, but from the front looked like I'd stuck a football up my top!

I can also remember quite a while where I just looked like I had a beer gut, not quite big enough to defo be a bump- think I'm at that "is she, or is she just let herself go" phase!

AbFabT · 11/04/2010 19:51

Hello!

Feeling fine here, had a nice pretty-lazy weekend, did clear the patio out and it feels so much better.

Mainly to the new mum-to-bes, and experienced mums if you are looking again, but have you started looking into all the stuff you need, and how are you coping with that? I've spent quite a while today looking at baby car-seats, but there is SO much to look through, so many reviews I want to read first, do all my research to ensure I am doing the best for our baby, I feel a bit swamped. Haven't been to actually look at any yet, I like to research first so I know a bit about what I am looking for, but gosh, there is so much!
Do I want a seat that I can carry out and about, or one that mainly stays in the car? Etc etc!

Nymphadora · 11/04/2010 20:08

Re car seats it's so much easier to carry sleeping baby in car seat than move them! We will have to change cars regularly so will be going for one of them. Not getting a Moses basket & just using a cot. Pram is the thing I'm going to be spending ages on!

AbFabT · 11/04/2010 20:38

Thanks, Nymph. (Any jet-lag, or are you ok?).

Yeah - I've been looking at the www.britax.co.uk/car-seats/baby-safe one, or the www.britax.co.uk/car-seats/baby-safe-plus one, both with the isofix base.

I don't want to waste money on doubling up things, and I see it can be used as a pushchair too with the necessary adaptors etc, but I've got my heart set on a completely different pushchair, (www.stokke-stroller.com/en-gb/stokke-xplory-stroller.aspx), so don't especially need the doubly-up aspects of the car-seat, but if altogether it makes it easy getting our baby out of the car and then into a stroller, oh, see, I am feeling swamped again!

And advice welcomed!

My local Mothercare looks to be a stockist of the car-seat range - will pop along tomorrow I think, just to look - hopefully that will make things a little clearer in my head! I know I've got a few months yet, but there seems to be quite a lot to get organised!

AbFabT · 11/04/2010 20:40

Any advice welcomed, not and!
(I've never seen any other discussion forum where you can't edit your posts! I also should have said mums-to-be, not mum-to-bes! Aargh!)

jennimoo · 11/04/2010 21:34

AbFab - I might be wrong but I'm not sure you are supposed to use just the car seat attached to buggy frame, as baby isn't laying flat and needs to be to start with. Anyone know if that's right, or am I confusing myself with something else?

Vikks - I've been feeling flutterings for a few weeks, I think they're getting stronger, so I'm fairly sure it's baby, but as you say, could be gas!

I have chosen most things already, but trying to buy slowly, and also look for bargains! I'm planning on getting a phil & teds buggy, as seems practical and if a second comes along in a few years can be easily upgraded for 2!

AbFabT · 11/04/2010 21:58

I am sure you are right, jennimoo, but why are they saying it's "suitable for use with most BRITAX pushchairs (with adaptors)"? I is confused!

What else have you chosen, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh, and re feeling any flutterings, I am feeling NOTHING!
