Floozie Great news about the scan!!

Nymphadora · 12/04/2010 20:07

Anyone else get hayfever? I was thinking Iwas getting a cold but just seen a few people talking about hay fever starting so could be that. Don't think I can take antihistamine when pg so will be stuck with it

Hermya321 · 12/04/2010 20:21

Oh crap, Nymph I forgot about that. Damn, suppose we'll suffer together.

Hermya321 · 12/04/2010 20:25

Although doing a google search, I did come across this

floozietoozie · 12/04/2010 21:03

Ninth - pmsl at tractor . I'm really wondering what ds is going to make of it. Will find out soon! I'm debating whether to wait until after I get to 12 weeks officially to tell people, and possibly after an NT scan if I decide to have one, or just do it now. It's funny, last time I was quite happy to keep quiet about it for ages but I'm just dying to tell people this time. I'm in two minds about the nuchal scan because I really don't know if I'd go ahead and have cvs or amnio whatever the result just because of the miscarriage risk. I don't think I could cope with it if I miscarried because of something I'd chosen to do, especially if it turned
out the baby had been fine anyway. Decisions, decisions.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/04/2010 21:26

Congratulations on your tractor ninth!

Floozie-it's tough isn't it, there are other diseases etc much more common than downs (let alone mcing) yet that is where all the focus is, all the tests. We have decided to not test at all fore downs, as we wouldn't risk mcing after our experiences, but then I'm young(ish) so the risks are lower. As you say, decisions decisions decisions!

Dh's hayfever is kicking in, I'm dreading mine starting. We can sniffle and whinge together!

jennimoo · 12/04/2010 21:34

BUnder - so sorry to hear your news and amazed at your strength. Hope you feel better soon.

jennimoo · 12/04/2010 21:36

whoops, just bought a ph & teds buggy on eBay! Was local and a bargain, and the exact one we were after, but feels rather early!

I thought I would have to wait til baby came to get cloth nappies, as people say that different ones are better for diffrent 'bottoms' but it seems lots of you have already worked out which ones! How do you choose?

SamanthaB123 · 12/04/2010 21:42

Hi Everyone,

I'm really sorry to hear your news BUnder I hope you are ok. Take good care of yourself.

Congrats to those with scans today too, mine is tomorrow. I feel like I've been waiting forever for this and now I'm terrified. I'll happily have the twins as long as there are little hearts beating! Saying that I feel pretty sure there's only one baby in here.

Hope all well, SB

MummyWilliams · 12/04/2010 21:49

BUnder so sorry to hear your news. Best wishes and good luck for the future.

lilmissmummy · 12/04/2010 21:52

Butb sorry to hear your news. Very sad news.

Ninth how very lucky to have a tractor baby.

My hayfever has kicked off the last couple of days - I think it is all these people cutting their grass. I have been taking Clarityn Syrup (childs dose) as advised by the doctor. I couldnt cope without it to be honest. Seashells I will sniffle and whinge with you!

I have got my second 12 week scan (at 13/14 weeks) on 20th April as they didnt get good enough pictures and measurements last time. Worried about it as I have never been called back but I have been really worried about everything in this pregnancy (especially as I lost the last one). We are going to do the initial tests for downs and take it one step at a time. Want to try and eliminate as many fears as possible!

Oooh that pregnancy desktop looks good I am going to download it too!

I am convinced I am having a boy too. I was fairly neutral until my scan and now refer to it as a him. I will be soooo shocked if I have a girl!

I have fallen in love with the icandy apple took dh to see it yesterday and we are going to put a deposit down on it after my next scan.

I've been getting stretchy pains in my lower abdomen too everything is moving. Cant wait to feel baby move. I know it will be any day now!

lilmissmummy · 12/04/2010 21:54

Sam123 good luck with your scan tomorrow

MummyWilliams · 12/04/2010 21:58

Congratulations on the brilliant scan news.

Mummylovessadie have you had any news?

I had a midwife appointment today (am 15+1), had a listen to the baby's heartbeat etc. Everything is all tickety boo!

I have a consultant appointment on 5th May, this is because I suffer with high blood pressure in pregnancy and also have caesareans.

Haven't received my date for 20 week scan, but they said this will arrive 2 weeks beforehand.

DP and I have full intentions of finding out the sex at the 20 week scan. I have a son & daughter from a previous relationship and he has two daughters.

We are going to need a new thread name soon.

Good luck with everyone having scans this week.

xxx

Hermya321 · 12/04/2010 22:08

Ninth Well I suppose a baby tractor would be far easier to look after than a newborn.

Lilmissmummy I'm convinced I'm having a boy as well, I will be quite quite shocked if I'm having a girl as well.

For a new thread name hows about something along the lines of 10/10 - Babies: The sun is showing and the pumpkins are growing.

lilmissmummy · 12/04/2010 22:20

Hermya I really like that!

floozietoozie · 12/04/2010 22:23

Seashells, that's so right.

Thanks for the congrats people. I'm definitely feeling less sick too . I've got my 20 wk scan date too, but can't remember it offhand, maybe 18th June?

Just to say I've updated the edd list and taken Bunderbonnet and Norfolk off it.

Hermya321 · 12/04/2010 22:28

Lilmiss Well we've got another 100 odd messages to go, if it's ok by everyone we can start the new thread with that title.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 13/04/2010 07:27

I like it hermya. You beat me to it- loading on my iPhone is now taking an absolute age, please can we ztart a new one!

Nymphadora · 13/04/2010 08:24

Echoing seashells ( eventually) takes ages on an iPhone!

Hayfever/cold making me wheeze today had inhaler for first time in 6 months. Bit shaky now but think that's the inhaler. I was just feeling less tired too

Given up on hiding bump, limited clothes, warm weather (not complaining about this though!)& holiday washing haven't left me with much. People can speculate then I'll tell on Thurs after scan( still worried )

is it SamB with a scan today? Then me tomorrow and us all done?

DillyDora · 13/04/2010 08:57

Morning all,

Love the new thread name and good luck to all those with upcoming scans!

Just had a communique from work, looks like lots more work coming up to an already full diary - eek! At least I'm feeling better than I was a few weeks ago!

Have a lovely day
xx

FingonTheValiant · 13/04/2010 09:44

BUTB so sorry to hear your news. I hope you're being well looked after. I cant imagine how awful it must have been with an added language complication. I really hope your recovery goes as well as it can.

FingonTheValiant · 13/04/2010 09:52

Congratulations to everyone with great scans yesterday. I cant believe the difference in sonographers. It seems incredible that they can do things so differently.

ILGH it's the blueberries that have me really tempted, the look delicious. And weenotions look lovely too. Maybe one or two for special occasions wouldn't be so bad...

My hayfever has kicked off bigstyle. I'm going to book an appointment with the gp to find out what, if anything, I can take. Mine lasts for ages and it's going to be a misery if there's nothing I can do about it!

I also bought a pram yesterday. Brand new mountain buggy on ebay, with carrycot, for less that half price!!! Eeek, I'm so excited. It's obscenely early though, I'm going to have to hide it at my parents' house so I dont get overly hormonal and start taking teddy bears out in it because I'm bored lol

I've got lots of stretchy pains too, I feel like I've pulled a muscle if I twist or move too sharply. Sil assures me I should be able to feel the baby any day now, I can't wait!!

Love the new thread title.

Have a fab day everyone. And good luck to Sam

SamanthaB123 · 13/04/2010 10:10

Morning Everyone,

I'm a mess here, I feel like it's all been a weird dream and that there won't be a baby in there at all and that my bump is all the food I've been eating.

I will be very glad when I've had the scan, 12 o'clock seems an age away. Am I the last possibility for twins??! They are in my family and no-one has produced them for a while...will report back later.

Hope everyone has a good day, SB x
