Morning girls!

Oh, weehector I'm sorry you're feeling down. If it's any consolation, my dh didn't think to do anything for mother's day when I was pregnant with ds. In fact, he was so distant and inattentive throughout the whole pregnancy I seriously started to doubt whether he would bond with the baby at all. Thankfully I couldn't have been more wrong and he's an amazing, hands on dad. In fact, he's so attentive and wonderful that we didn't really do anything special for mother's day as I just didn't feel the need. I know that might sound weird, but dh does more than his fair share of household chores, cooks dinner 4 nights out of 7, does dishes most nights, hoovers, puts laundry in the washing machine and even brings home chocolate on a regular basis . So I just didn't feel like I needed a day all to myself to be spoiled and pampered and appreciated - because I have that most days. Oh dear, maybe I need to have a dh-appreciation day instead

In other news, ds has well and truly caught a tummy bug. Wouldn't be so bad if he didn't insist on climbing into our bed to be sick - bleurgh. Thank goodness we're getting the carpets cleaned this Friday - our bedroom carpet has taken quite a hit these past few night.

So we're quite a sleepy household at the moment.

CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 09:33

Happy Tuesday

weehector all this worry is really the last thing you need at the moment, really hoping things get better for you honey xx

joey It was really suny wasn't it?! As for home appointments, think my first is 34 weeks to discuss birth plan. Don't like having them at home tbh, always feel uncomfortable.

dibby they not very impressed that you're having a surprise then? Nor is my sister, she actually said 'well thats silly considering you found out with the others' Oh well. I said to her 'my baby my decision'

star those chocs look scrummy!!! You must have needed that nap lady, you're cooking 2 babies, I say take them up on their offer to drop dd off for you!!

caz I think it's normal to leak at around this time hun so don't worry. I'm notleaking as yet but I'm sure it's on it's way...

misus Congratulations on being team BLUE!!!

GYA Hope the tests go smoothly, never fun are they xx

blueberries hope your ds is better soon!!

found this from MrsZaC from 1st march

"how is everyone doing this week, I'm not particularly looking forward to another working week but got a holiday on the 15th for a few days in yorkshire so looking forward to that."

No doubt she's gonna make us all when she gets back

pamplem0usse · 16/03/2010 10:16

Well done Cherry lets hope that's it, right!

CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 13:15

you're a quiet lot today

OP posts:
bouncingblueberries · 16/03/2010 13:25

cherry!

I'm too busy defending our thread title and our friendly welcoming nature!

CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 13:31

you saw the thread too then??#

for those wondering - this is where bluberries and myself have found ourselves

OP posts:
Dibbydab · 16/03/2010 14:15

Afternoon girls!

(and anyone lurking who is put off by our cliquiness and cheesiness ) give us a wave, tell us your name (or a made up one), due date (ish) and your age (again, made up is fine...)

One of my Managing Directors sidled up to me earlier (quite a fat portly chap) and said "Do you know, I think for the first time ever you've got a bigger belly than I have, ho, ho, ho", "Yes", said I, "But I'm getting rid of mine in August, what are you going to do about yours?" and flounced off (well the best flouncing I can do in killer heels and a centre of gravity that seems to be shifting on a daily basis.

CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 14:20

dibby

OP posts:
marzipananimal · 16/03/2010 14:27

lol dibby

I'm feeling a bit miffed the other way cos people keep saying I don't look pregnant and can't belive I'm nearly 18 weeks. I want a big bump to show off!

Dibbydab · 16/03/2010 14:41

Aw Marzipan your "smuggling a bowling ball" time will come then you'll be pining for the days when you could do your jeans up without a hair bobble holding them together

If it's any consolation, I just felt a bit chunky up to about 17/18 weeks, then it went "pop".

Another embarrassing revalation - my boobs are now so huge that I wake up with 2 red patches on my belly each morning where they have been resting overnight - gawd, I'm a mess!

On the plus side, the bathroom is nearly finished - just a little bit of tiling to do then I'll do a big reveal on my pics...

Chulita · 16/03/2010 14:48

Lol! Of course they're cheesy titles, how can you come up with something interesting every couple of weeks and 'August 2010, thread 4' is RUBbish (with a capital RUB)
I'm quiet today cos DH has come down with the d&v virus that DD had so we've still got a sicky house and I'm washing hands like a fiend trying to keep it away from me!

ElusiveMoose · 16/03/2010 15:02

Dibby, have you tried a sleep bra? Wore mine for the first time last night and it was fab. Good at night, but also means I can wander around the house in my jim-jams without feeling like my boobs are somewhere around my ankles .

Chulita · 16/03/2010 15:14

dibby I've got 2 pairs of maternity pjs and one pair cost a small fortune but has built in support and they are just divine to sleep in. The other pair are a mothercare thing and they're so badly designed, mothercare should be ashamed to sell them. Deffo pop on a sleep bra though, if nothing else it'll save your ligaments from stretching beyond repair!

Dibbydab · 16/03/2010 15:35

Chulita tell me about the pair that cost a small fortune, I'm interested... Where do I get a sleep bra from - are they the same as maternity bras? We don't have a Bravissimo in deepest darkest Devon. We do have an M & S though, shall try there.

marzipananimal · 16/03/2010 15:49

can't help you on sleep bras I'm afraid dibby but which part of Devon are you from? I grew up in Exeter

bouncingblueberries · 16/03/2010 15:58

dibby try Blooming Marvellous for sleep bras, or if you're bigger busted try something like this. Bought these last week and haven't actually slept in them yet, but they are super soft and comfy.

Dibbydab · 16/03/2010 16:01

I'm in Plymouth - actually a migrated Geordie, but lived here since I was 5 so I'm nearly a local now, you've gotta love those pasties and cream teas my luvver

bouncingblueberries · 16/03/2010 16:04

Cream teas! drool! Bloody hell dibby I'm gonna have to go home and make scones now!

chulita yes show us yer fancy pj's! I throw out my mothercare ones from last time just last week. They were really pretty but the top was just rubbish. Could barely contain my ever expanding bosom! Forgotten how rubbish they were!

girlsyearapart · 16/03/2010 16:17

well we're back from the hospital and dd2 does have allergies to peanut and sesame and is still allergic to egg

CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 16:27

sorry to hear that GYA, is your dd ok?

OP posts:
CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 16:36

Chulita I remember those pj's - they were divine - and very expensive!!! Weren't they like £50 or something

Don't think I could let myself pay that much because I am a tightwad

OP posts:
soontobefatnat · 16/03/2010 16:50

Sorry to hear that girls - hope that's not going to be too hard to manage. Must be difficult.

Are people really slating us on another thread?? What the eff? I don't post everyday and I don't see cliqueiness, I see friendly and supportive chat! Very odd!

CherryPie3 · 16/03/2010 17:01

Nat They're only jealous cos they can't come and play

OP posts:
Missus84 · 16/03/2010 18:02

Thanks for the congrats all - I'm happy to be on Team Blue since a friend very kindly passed on to us all her son's baby clothes etc, so have everything in blue/green/with dinosaurs on already!

girlsyearapart - haven't really got a names shortlist yet. There's one name we both really love but it's a bit... unusual so not sure if we're brave enough
