Welcome Bubbabear - I can't really help with the swimsuit issue as I haven't started looking for a new one myself yet, but I think Mothercare do quite a range....

Just come back from my friends house; her cat had kittens today. They are sooooo tiny, and I thought my Fiz was tiny when I bought her home at 6 weeks! So cute! So been gooing over them all night! Haha makes a change from humankind babies I suppose!

Think I might go to bed, and in the morning have a house sort out - it is such a tip. Clean and tidy day tomorrow it must be!

Emster30 · 12/03/2010 22:56

Hi all, I am on the July threads but they all seem so far ahead of me, I thought maybe I might poke my nose round the door here too since I may well end up with an August baby? I am 20+5, due on 25 July, but the new thread (which doesn't mention the month) is about the third trimester and I won't be there for ages yet, I'm only just halfway which was what the last thread was all about!

I had my 20 week scan today - everything is absolutely fine, hooray! We didn't want to know the sex (don't want to define my child by blue or pink just yet...).

How are you all doing?

marzipananimal · 13/03/2010 08:43

Welcome new people. bubbabear you're due the same day as me

I've been wondering about swimming costumes too. Planning to have a look in Mothercare but I can't really think of anywhere else.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, it's lovely and sunny here

Chulita · 13/03/2010 12:03

Hello emster! We have the same due date and I've been two-timing with this thread cos I'm convinced this one's going to be late! (I only noticed about the lack of month mentioning this morning but I didn't think that one would actually get used...)

I got my swimsuit from here.

neenz · 13/03/2010 12:22

Hi Emster, it's frustrating when the thread isn't quite on your wavelength because of the due date isn't it - I fear it's the same here for those due at the end of August . Not sure what we can do about it. I was on June 08 (still am) and my twins were born early May, eight wks before some people gave birth! So it was a bit weird at first cos their babies were at such different stages because a few weeks makes a big difference early on!

Creme Eggs sounds good. I am having Mother's Day today because DH plays football Sunday mornings (hoping he will give up next season) and we are going to see my mum tomorrow, so we are going out for lunch after the twins have their nap

I think the twins must have left such a big hole in my uterus that this baby has tons of room - I can feel it moving all the time, I think it is an acrobat

LCRLCR · 13/03/2010 15:46

Hey all - I was thinking it might be a good idea to do a baby first aid course in preparation for being a first time Mum. Has anyone else done this? Any recommendations? I am in brighton.

Thanks x

marzipananimal · 13/03/2010 16:12

Been to Mothercare and got this swimming costume.
Had a lot of fun looking at baby clothes too but didn't buy any

Emster30 · 13/03/2010 17:07

HI chulita, I'll join you in two-timing! Thanks for the welcome all.

neenz it must be weird having a singleton after having had twins - I hope it's all seeming easy compared to that!

Bubbabear · 13/03/2010 18:53

Thanks for feedback on swimsuits, I bought one from mothercare today. Funnily enough it was the same one as you Marzipananimal! Must be some kinda psychic connection as we have the same due date lol. I've always dismissed tankinis before as pre-pregnancy they always seemed to ride up when swimming, but little bump seems as if it'll hold it nicely in place. Will be testing it tomorrow )

Have also been looking for a dress to wear to a wedding next month. After lots of frustrating trapsing around shops, I found lots at decent prices on Asos.com where I was spoilt for choice & ended up sending for 8 different styles! Will only be keeping one though, (okay maybe two...)

Hope everyone is having a restful weekend x

Yes it is weird being pg with one after twins! It seems a bloody breeze in comparison so far, which reminds me we haven't heard from starshaker in the while. Hope you are OK star.

We are going away to a cottage a week Monday and will take the DTs swimming while we are there - I was hoping to squeeze into my normal swimsuit but may have to buy a new one, or maybe borrow one from a friend who lent me her maternity one last time around . My bump seems huge so probably no chance getting into my regular swimsuit .

CazEM · 13/03/2010 19:55

Hey, hope everyone has had a good saturday!

I've been shopping with my Mum today, expanding my wardrobe to go with my expanding bump!

Now I have to listen to "Rock Band Night" - DH has his friends over, beer and the Xbox. Great....

starshaker · 13/03/2010 19:58

Hi neenz. Been lurking cos everybody seems to be getting on great and i just feel like total shit all the time. On the plus side im not anemic although my bloods have gone from 13.5 to 11.1. But i kinda wish i was anemic then i would have a reason to be so tired all the time and would be able to have something done about it.
On monday dd got the all clear from the hospital about her finger so that was good, but then on tuesday she was back up getting teeth out and they ended up taking 12. She now has no teeth at the top at all poor wee thing.
Have decided on my pram now. Im going for a phil and teds classic twin.

Think im still in shock really. Given how many babies ive lost i still cant believe im 16 weeks with twins. Still kinda worried something is gonna go wrong. Thought i would relax after 12 week scan but now im thinking, ill believe its all ok when i get to 20 weeks. Was like this with dd and didnt relax till i actually held her.

Sorry about all that. Dont post for ages then just ramble for ages.

aendr · 13/03/2010 20:00

Yes, I'm finding I'm behind everybody (due 25th) - especially when it comes to scans - but having been through pregnancy before it probably isn't as bad for me as for first timers. Splitting into shorter groups probably doesn't make sense - I'm sure we can cope with a little understanding and not rushing off into 3rd trimester thread titles too soon (please). But either end there are problems - if you're at the beginning of the month, you've got no-one who has been through the experiences to compare to unless you hop onto the month earlier thread.

bouncingblueberries · 13/03/2010 20:09

Oh starshaker honey, don't just lurk. This thread is for the good, the bad and the downright ugly days and we all like a good rant and/or ramble

Sorry your still feeling a bit rubbish, but 11.1 is quite low for your haemoglobin. In fact, I'm sure if you drop below 11 you're classed as anaemic. So get some spinach and red meat into you woman! Treat yourself to a big fat steak tomorrow

Also, you are carrying 2 babes (like you didn't know) and as neenz mentioned earlier - she's finding her singleton pregnancy much easier than her twin pregnancy - so stop beating yourself up!

Maybe speak to your midwife if it's all getting a bit much for you? She might be able to suggest something a bit more useful than I can (cake, chocolate and an early night are my cure-alls )

Take it easy honey. Your doing a wonderful job growing two wonderful babies. You're allowed to feel knackered fgs!

starshaker · 13/03/2010 20:23

Im actually thinking smoked sausage supper with loads of salt viniger and brown sauce mmmmm.
Im trying to eat really healthy and sensible meals (not tonight obviously), loads and loads of fruit and veg. Chocolate is off the menu cos i cant stand the sight of the stuff lol

Jaysfourth · 13/03/2010 20:25

Hi one and all!

I am already 'established' on the Sept thread, but found out yesterday i am further along than i thought, this has bought my EDD forward to Aug 24th.... this is baby number four and have been over a week late with all others, so while i have decided to 'stay' over there, i thought i would stick my head in here too....hope thats ok.

Who knows, i might be on time this time round

vix206 · 13/03/2010 21:42

I'm worried about mrsZaC she hasn't posted since 4th March I hope all is well

CazEM · 13/03/2010 21:46

Can't take anymore of the drumming, and banging... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ok that feels a little better. Actually hoping a neighbour might complain before long, he might shush it down a bit then!

I agree vix - it is odd that mrsZaC hasn't posted for a while, she is usually a regular...

cazzybabs · 13/03/2010 21:47

starshaker - I am not going to relax until this baby is viable.

I have my 20 week scan next week and am scared...

Also I am so thirsty - I can't stop drinking. I don't think I have diabetes...just making more blood but it is very taxing because I can't decide what I want to drink...it is still a bit cold for water, tea isn't thirst quenching, coke and OJ is too sweet - what a dilemma....

We went to Cambridge science festival today - it was so good. The girls had a great time - wearing lab coats and googles "We are roper scientists now Mummy".

jennycomelately · 13/03/2010 22:33

Hi Jaysfourth, I remember you from the Feb 08 thread, when I was having #5 and you were Jaysthird. And we have the same due date this time, except I'm hoping to hang on till September!

I'm finally turning the corner with the sickness at 16+ weeks - such a relief after weeks of feeling like crap. My task for the next week is to get on with booking a scan...think it will have to be just after Easter if I wait till 20 weeks. Can't feel the baby move yet and I don't have a bump so I'm looking forward to checking up on it!

Emster30 · 13/03/2010 22:49

I got one of those Mothercare tankinis - it does ride up a bit over the bump but it;'s fine if I tuck it in. They look nice anyway!

CazEM · 14/03/2010 11:08

Wishing you all a very happy mother's day!

Jaysfourth · 14/03/2010 14:02

Hi Jenny, did you have a name change since then, or maybe i wasnt around that much on the Feb thread!! Either way, nice that someone remembers me, i was wondering if anyone out there in MN land might pick up on my name

So are you on number 6 now then? I too am hoping to hold on till Sept, but i am destined to be late with them all!!

Hope everyone is having a nice Mothers day xx

jennycomelately · 14/03/2010 18:31

Oh yes, I namechanged because although my old name was accurate (Slacker!) it was a bit depressing! Yep on final baby #6 now, I already have 2 August birthday children with all the potential issues of them being youngest in school year, you'd think I'd have known better than to have another one! Although if I do hold on till September that will be 4 September birthdays in the family too...planning clearly isn't my strong point!

Went to see Alice in Wonderland this afternoon, that's a couple of hours out of my life I'll never get back...and was sick when I got back, how can I still be sick at nearly 17 weeks?? Still, my younger children made a real effort for mother's day which was very sweet - the teenagers ignored it of course!

Quiet on here today, hope everyone's having a relaxing Sunday
