glad your havin good day KAYS and hope the meal goes well sounds nice :D
also think im gunna get booked in for an eye test sometime this week.
off to get a relaxing bath whilst DS is still at his dads. will be back later

essenceofSES · 14/02/2010 15:56

Hello!!!

Sorry for all the headaches.
MMM - eye test sounds like a good idea.
Hope M has recovered from his bump and enjoy your bath!

Kay - we've run out of Rafi's packs so I'm v of your meal. I must do an online order...

Rugby - it's really hard being tough but it feels better to know you're doing something to move forwards. I'm pretty rubbish so not much advice but plenty of sympathy and Diege talks sense and does have the experience.

Gruff - GC sounds so cute chatting on his phone! Yay for roses and time for yourself too!

Tink - quiet day with choccys sounds good!

GBL - your course sounds great! Is it through NCT?

Hello Diege and Cant and anyone else lurking?!

DH and I went out for a lovely meal last night. First time we'd been out, just the 2 of us since before O was born and I really enjoyed myself. Mum babysat and thank goodness O didn't wake up!

O is currently asleep in his cot so I'm trying to catch up on last week's 24. Anyone else a Jack Bauer fan?

essenceofSES · 14/02/2010 21:32

Also, we had the ttc conversation and it's looking like we'll be trying again in the summer & I think our main problem will be finding the opportunity IYKWIM

Kayzr · 14/02/2010 22:19

Yay Ses!!! That is great news!!! I'm ttc in august hopefully so you won't be alone!!

maxxymoosmummy · 15/02/2010 07:34

SES yay for ttc im sure you will find the oppotunity, as O will be older then, and maybe a little more settled at nights.

Rugbylovingmum · 15/02/2010 07:40

Hooray - DD slept from 8 - 6.45 (much better than 5.30!). She had a quick feed at 12 and at 5.15 but went straight back to sleep afterwards. She also woke at 3.30 but I just put the dummy back in (we didn't take it away last night) and let her grumble away and she fell asleep after 5 min. I feel amazing , just hoping it wasn't a one off. I was careful not to let her sleep too much yesterday - thanks for that Diege - so will do the same today.

Ses - yah for ttc! Glad you enjoyed your meal out.

MMM - hope you had a nice relaxing time while DS was at his dads.

Kay - how was the curry? I love those mixes from Rafi's, we end up having them fairly regularly.

We have the hv here today to give me the weaning talk - should be exciting . We are going to wait a while as she is only 18wks but yesterday we had some cooked carrot left over from dinner and I picked a piece up to nibble on. DD grabbed my hand and stuck the carrot in her mouth and started sucking on it. Every time I tried it take it back she squealed and pulled my hand back. It was really funny and hopefully a sign she'll enjoy her food when we do start.

maxxymoosmummy · 15/02/2010 07:55

yay for the sleeping RUGBY ill have my fingers and toes crossed here that it wasnt a 1 off.
DS is still fast asleep.
and yesterday ended up watching a film, washing pots and having a bath whilst he was out

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/02/2010 08:01

Rugby- good going last night!! Also having progress on the sleep front here. The last 2 nights i've 'ignored' her waking, i've checked she's not got a dirty nappy and given her dummy, but refused to feed between bedtime (7pm ish) and morning (7am ish)... seems it's worked, she's woken both nights, sat night it was for about 15mins, then she went back off to sleep, then last night it was about 5mins and she was back asleep wuhoo!! However, the other 2 woke up at 2ish and 4ish- DH wasn't happy- i slept through it- think i needed it more than i thought!!

Need to get to the PO this morning- hoping to get there pretty early... DC's are all fed... now it's just getting us all dressed... much easier said than done!!

OH, Oh, OH... DD was on the front yesterday and was almost getting herself onto her knee's!!! wuhoo- some more bloody progress finally!! we're back at the cons in june (my flipin bday too) and i'm determined we're gonna show him!!

tinksbabyis1 · 15/02/2010 08:59

morning

let the fun of alf term begin

not doing much today

ses - exciting about trying soon

mm - sounds like eye test might be a good idea

lots of us r getting headaches latlkey

kay - ur valntines day sounded good

hi rugby and cant

Rugbylovingmum · 15/02/2010 09:02

Cant - thats brilliant. It feels good to be moving in the right direction doesn't it!

I'm hoping that if she carries on sleeping well I can slowly move the 5 o clock feed to 6.30/7ish when we get up. I'll probably not worry too much about the feed at 11/12ish for a while although if I can get her to take a bottle or cup I'll do that for her last feed. That way we can have a night out together and my parents can feed her if I'm not back. If I get a few more nights sleep I should feel up to tackling the bottle/cup issue.

Rugbylovingmum · 15/02/2010 09:03

Morning Tink, x-posted.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/02/2010 09:13

Rugby- the bottle/cup will just happen- took ages with DD2, but now she'll happily guzzle from either a cup or bottle with no fuss!!

Right i best get off- i've not moved since my last post except turning to watch all 3 DC's mesmerized by the TV!!

essenceofSES · 15/02/2010 09:25

Morning!

Rugby & Cant - that's great about improved sleeping. I can pretty much rely on O now to just wake once for a feed and promptly fall back asleep. It makes so much difference!

Having a birthday of extremes so far. Great in that I'm currently sat in Starbucks waiting for my massage & facial that I have booked in 45mins and then mum is taking me out for lunch. I pick O up from nursery at 3pm before going round to see a friend. All pretty good, huh?!
On the flipside, DH has not got me a present or a card from either him or O. He says he doesn't do cards which I guess is true but I was looking forward to getting one "to my mum". As for a present, he says I got flowers yesterday and a meal out Sat. Oh also, I go into town regularly with O so he thinks that O could have done his present shopping then!
To be fair, he comes from a family that doesn't really make a fuss about birthdays so I should probably stop my moaning and enjoy my massage and lunch!

Rugbylovingmum · 15/02/2010 09:35

Oh no Ses, what a shame. I was lucky that DP and my mum both sent me a card from DD for my birthday . On the other hand DP did tell me to get my own present when I was in town and he would refund me as he didn't have time to shop . Have a lovely lovely birthday! How is O enjoying nursery now?

Rugbylovingmum · 15/02/2010 09:37

Oh yes and I should mention I warned DP in advance that I would be very if he didn't get me birthday and Mothers day cards from DD .

Kayzr · 15/02/2010 09:43

Happy Birthday Ses. Like Rugby, I told DH he had to get me a card from the boys. But he would never not get me one anyway.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/02/2010 10:29

Ses- DH isn't into cards and buying presents either... he now makes an effort to get me something off the DC's though. However, i know it's last minute and bought from whatever shop he can get to the day before (ie the ones next to his work- next or tesco!!).... I've come to get used to it now and it's a very plesant surprise if i get anything more!!

Diege · 15/02/2010 16:33

Hello! Just a quick one from me. I think I'd be a tad with dh if I were you SES. Dh is same here to some extent (though more about st.vals) but tbh it's not HIM that your birthday is about, it's you! I think I might work the silent treatment a little, if only to store up future credits . Great news about ttc-ing in summer - very , I think! And Happy Birthday!!!!
RUGBY, good going on the sleep training - hope the progress continues
Hi KAYZ, MMM, TINKS, and everyone else! I am trying to juggle half term with a lengthy dentists appointment (11am and just got back - don't ask...)and this bleedin' marking!!!

maxxymoosmummy · 15/02/2010 17:48

Cosmogirl · 16/02/2010 08:14

Morning all,

Just sticking my head in and marking place on new thread. I have been pants again and need to have a proper read through catch up. We were struck down with yet more sickness after the last lot - had a horrible stomach virus this time - DD seemed to miss this one and pass it straight to me. We have been ok though for the last few days (not sure how long this will last though!) DD's sticky eyes have also gone (yey!) so am feeling a bit more upbeat at the mo. Keep having wobbles abut work (one minute love it - next hate it) Oh well....

Well try and have a proper read through later on. Hope everyone has good Tuesdays.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 16/02/2010 08:34

morning all.

Fairly bad night here again, DD2 woke at 3-4ish, teething gel eventually did the trick!! But i didn't feed her- haven't caved yet!! But DH woke me through the night coughing- damn him!!

cosmo- glad the sticky eyes have gone- the girls have both gotten over theirs now too- wasn't nice though. Shame about how you're feeling towards work- thought i'm sure it's understandable and normal.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 16/02/2010 08:42

oooh- seems i'm off out with MMM to help choose something nice for DD2's bday!! fingers crossed the rain holds off for us!!

tinksbabyis1 · 16/02/2010 09:21
