I've got my scan tomorrow - it seems to have come round faster than my last scans did! Will upload pics asap.

Have just had a peer at some pregnancy timelapse videos, they are quite scary. I'm gonna be huge!

beckyg123 · 11/03/2010 20:26

kk your picture is absolutely amazing! you lucky thing

emster good luck tomorrow- i know what you mean, i was so excited about 20 week scan and it did feel like it came faster than the wait for 12 week scan. think it was coz i was so anxious about 12 week one!

I'm off for a half day of spa treatments tomorrow afternoon. Going to go to aquanatal in morning then meeting my friend in afternoon to spoil ourselves!!! Then DH has booked friend and i into his hotel (well the one he works in!) in city centre so will have a girly night with movies and dinner!!! I'm so excited as i know there will probably never be days like this again!

I have a question- TMI alert here!
I think i have a pile already! Have had a sore bum all day and on recent trip to the loo i have discovered its presence!!! its quite sore. Anyone else have experience of them? If so whats the best treatment safe for us? Seriously gutted about this happening already- i knew there was a risk during childbirth but NOW

stac14 · 11/03/2010 21:10

kk pics are fab, makes me want a 3d one now

emster bet your all excited bout scan do you want to know what your having?

becky piles during pregnancy is very common, i don't have piles but bleed when at the loo. Gp will give you cream or go to minor ailments at the pharmacy. So jealous of your spa day, where you going? Would you credit i have physio on wednesday at the same time as exercise class, but im going to phone see if i can still join

OP posts:
beckyg123 · 11/03/2010 21:19

Thanks stac think i'll go to pharmacy tomorrow, really quite uncomfortable- no bleeding though.
Oh thats typical about physio next week! everything always comes at once! I'm hoping the will be able to get enough people to keep them going so you should be fine for the week after. Going to Pure near silverburn, they do a special mum to be package I've never been before- infact never had anything like that until our weekend away a last month so feeling very spoilt!
Probably won't be online tomorrow so good luck for scan on saturday- 3rd time lucky on finding out the sex!!! will you be shopping for LO after do you think?

stac14 · 11/03/2010 21:38

oh most definately becky but have to go shopping for mothers day. Sounds like it will be great hun. Good thing bout this scan is they will make sure they find out gender as its paid for, the sonographer at the nhs said you get what you need not what you want x

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 11/03/2010 21:55

becky i have the same problem and the doctor told me to get anusol (think thats what its called). dunno hoe effective it is though cos haven't really been using it properly!whoops!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2010 08:52

Ive got the norovirus Ive been up all night throwing up every hour. The most sleep I managed was an hour and half and mw isnt answering her phone but baby seems ok hes moving around alot.

viksam · 12/03/2010 08:54

KK Amazing pics, u have obviously got really good equipment in ur hospital.
Emster What time is ur scan today?? Let us know if ur going to find out....will it be another boy?
Becky have a fab spa day, u lucky thing, what treatments are you having? Sorry about the piles, thats sucks, if its constipation advice im full of it at the moment.....hahaha in more ways than one!! TMI alert I had to use the train loo the other day, i hadnt been for 4 days and, well i was AMAZED at the size of it, im sure the baby must have been squashed right up with that in there too!!!!
stac Really hope you enjoy ur scan on sat, please let us know what its like as I will be really interesting. Anyone else going with you or just DP?

Well we had the sad news early this morning that my DH dad has finally passed away. DH is, understandable, very upset. Its such a difficult thing now as you feel the need to do something, anything, but theres nothing to be done yet. I think we will get in the car and head down there anyhow, he lived in starcross just outside of exeter. I think whats upsetting me the most is that he will never see the baby that we have been trying for for so long. Very sad.
I hope everyone has a good weekend
xxx

viksam · 12/03/2010 08:59

Oh DH Im sorry you feel shitty. I recon thats what my DH had last weekend. Its only now that he is feeling any better. His sickness lasted about 24hrs and diarrhoea lasted a day or so longer. I dont think its harmfull to baby but best to get some specialist advice. The rehydration sachets from the pharmacist did a good job, just keep hydrated and rest.........a lot. I wouldnt plan much for the next week if you can help it either. Hope ur feeling better soon. x

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2010 09:07

Thanks vik my mum had it a while ago it really is awful, I couldnt keep down water last night and i was so so thirsty it was horrible. Im staying on the sofa today with the throw over me. I just want to sleep but feel so sick.

stac14 · 12/03/2010 09:27

viksam so sorry about your father in law, it will be hard for dh but he has the baby to focus on. My mum passed before ds was born but he kept me going. We are taking stepson with us as ds came with me on tuesday and he is playing footy in the morning. Hope you and dh are ok hun

dh aw huni, get plenty of rest and try to drink as much as you can

How is everyone else? I am excited about tomorrow we will eventually find out, can't believe how stubborn lo is being about this, but i'm just as stubborn lol x

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/03/2010 11:12

Had a little sleep which has made me feel a bit better and drinking coke cos apparently that helps ease sickness.
My mum is popping round later but will keep her distance she doesnt want to catch it again!
Apparently my sister and her friend has it to, which is who I was with on Wed so we all must have got it from the same source.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 12/03/2010 11:24

fab scan pics, kk!

Hope your scan goes well emster

argh dh poor you! Hope it passes really quickly. Flat coke is v good and just try and avoid dairy and oily things while your poor tummy recovers.

I'm having a hungry day, yesterday was bread bread bread all day and today it's salty things. YUM! I'm just going to force an apple into me to try and nourish baby instead of spoiling him/her

Hope everyone has a good day!

Chulita · 12/03/2010 12:13

viks, so sorry about your FIL, at least he knew you're pregnant though so he could share that excitement.
DH, my mum always said coke and dark chocolate when we were little. We never argued about it and I find it works when you can't keep anything down.
We woke up to find DD had vomited up her tea from last night and then slept in it. Her room stank and DH had to scrub the carpet, her mattress, the sheet, grobag and pj's and we had to give her a shower to wash her crusty hair out [vom]. I was soooo glad he was here to do it but about 10 mins after he left for work she projectile vomited her breakfast up all over the living room carpet/electric heater/clothes/books/toys and it was my turn on clean-up duty [double vom]. Must be something going round...

stac14 · 12/03/2010 13:51

wwsw i feel the hungry days are getting more frequent lol hate days when you just can't find what you want lol

Poor dd and you chulita hows she doing now? You ok?

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 12/03/2010 14:13

aw vik very sorry to hear that. hope ur both ok. x
dh poor you just make sure and try and stay hydrated. you were probably stil run down after the cold and thats why you caught it.ur just not havin a easy time of it lately you poor thing.
hope dd starts to get better soon chulita.you feel so sorry for them when their sick like that.heres hoping you dont catch whatever she has.
ww im sooooooo with you on the hungry days! as soon as im finished eating im thinking of what i can have next! and its starting to show on me too cos my arse is just growing by the day! so hard to try and limit yourself though!

berberis · 12/03/2010 16:18

Hello everyone, congrats to those who have had scans this week.

I had mine (22 weeks) yesterday, but was too exhausted to post last night. All well and it was amazing, but had a two-hour wait in a hot and stuffy waiting room because the computer system was down. So by the time I got into the scan room my baby was doing backflips because I was so tense and grumpy!

Anyway, once settled down it was lovely. We're not finding out the sex, but one image of the legs was really clear and DP said: "wow, they look like footballer's legs" so perhaps that was a massive giveaway! Still keeping an open mind though. We also got great side-profile of face and we could see him/her opening and closing mouth, drinking. Very cute.

If I work out how to load the pics I will.

Lots of love to everyone. Guess we will need a brand new thread for our third trimester soon?
xxx

Chulita · 12/03/2010 17:10

That's the thing, DD isn't poorly, she's just not keeping anything down. Thankfully DH and I haven't picked it up yet.
How're you doing on the food front dh?
I definitely have a far bigger appetite with this pg than the last one, I eat non-stop I'm making pizza tonight so I'll limit how much cheese I put on it (although DH always sneaks more on when I'm not looking!)
stac I hope you have a lovely time watching your LO tomorrow!
berberis I'm glad your scan went well and that you got to see your LO chatting to you 2 hour wait though...that's horrible!

Chulita · 12/03/2010 17:13

The best thread title DH and I can come up with is 'July ladies of the 3rd trimester, post on her or I'll pester (you)' - which is why I didn't bother suggesting any titles last time

Chulita · 12/03/2010 17:15

Ooh, just thought of another
'3rd trimester bits and pieces, post on here while our weight increases' (all baby's weight of course!)

Hi - I've just joined Bounty online so I can get my free mum to be pack but it doesn't tell you what you need to do. Do I need something to take to Boots or Sainsburys to collect it or do I just go and ask for one. I have no proof of membership. Do they just give them out to pregnant women?

Emster30 · 12/03/2010 18:48

Sorry to hear you're ill dh - so many people I know have had the norovirus recently, it sounds horrid. The worst only lasts a day or so, I believe, but you'll feel a bit weak for quite a few days.

The scan went fine - Baby Em looks all perfectly normal and happy, no worries! He said that the baby was measuring a bit small so we had to book another scan for 36 weeks, so that's booked in, but when we got home and looked at the printouts in fact all the measurements are big, not small, as far as we can work out. In fact they look as if I should just be a few days ahead of where I am (which I think anyway). Oh well, I'm seeing the MW a week on Monday, I'll ask her then.

Pictures were crap again! Never mind.
