WinterMadness · 09/02/2010 22:08

Yep, I watched it. Only blubbed twice, lol.

20 weeks time(ish) and I'm doing it all again...must be mad!

kapars · 09/02/2010 22:15

Yes I watched it - had a little cry at one point! The progamme wasn't as scary as I thought it would be....although still scary!
becky i've been having lots of very vivid dreams/nightmares also and I can remember them all the next day which I never normally can.
I was a man in my dream last night and was the leader of a revolution or something. Very wierd!
glastonbury Glad the physio was helpful. Yes it is scary thinking it may get worse.
I'm still going to yoga as I feel that has really helped me loads but hope the physio doesn't say I have to stop. I'm not sure whether I'm to stay as active as possible or rest when it hurts.
Congrats to DP stac

I watched the C4 programme, i was welling up before the end of the opening credits, oh dear
It brought back some memories, i deffo think i had blocked it out!!

off to bed, happy weird dreams all!!

Emster30 · 09/02/2010 22:34

Hello all!

I am feeling tiny little kicks, first felt them in bed on Saturday night but I got them during the day today, at work, at my desk - such a lovely feeling!

Still more than a month until my 20 week scan (it's on 12 March) - hopefully the time won't drag too much.

speak soon!

beckyg123 · 10/02/2010 08:12

Morning all... well a much better night for me last night! Can only remember 1 dream and it was a nice one! We had a little girl and she was beautiful! The worst thing that happenend is i changed her dirty nappy on our bed and got in a mess leaving poo on DHs side! It was a relaxed, funny dream so a little light relief!

stac congrats to your DP - i am still trying to persuade DH to take lessons as i really don't want to be only driver! It just costs sooo much these days.

emster the kicks are amazing! I'm love feeling the movement!

stac14 · 10/02/2010 08:27

hey ladies, may brave the programme today since you've all said its not that bad.

Thanks everyone for the congrats for dp, it was such a relief as it was his 4th time. becky it cost a fortune, dp has been able to drive for years, but i had to push him to go for his test. I must say its good to know he can drive me to the hossie lol

How is everyone today? My back seems to be fixing thankfully. Well must go to school x

OP posts:
Chulita · 10/02/2010 09:33

I'm going to watch the programme while DD's sleeping - can't stay up that late these days [sheepish]
DH's early mornings and DD's night wakings are wearing me out!
Hope everyone has a lovely day!

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/02/2010 11:36

I watched it last night, this is my first so I have no idea what to expect so its a good eye opener.

I dont think DP really knew what was involved so its preparing him too!

Ive got sooo much to do today!! Ive already hoovered the whole flat and ive still got last min packing to do, got to take a load of books to the charity shop and im trying to sort out the last weeks rent which is due but the card reader isnt working online arghhh I need DP's card it wont accept mine, how annoying!

Im not even dressed yet ....

viksam · 10/02/2010 16:35

Hi everyone,
I have just finished watching the programme from last night. Is it horrid of me to say i thought both men were wierdly disinterested, dont get me wrong i dont think my husband will be down the gory end poking his nose in but Im hoping he will be a bit more supportive then either of the men on last nights programme.
I didnt finish watching it last night because the hospital phoned and we had to get in the car and drive to see FIL over an hour away as he had taken a turn for the worst. I am totally knackered now as we didnt get in till half two! Did manage to leave work early though but feeling extremly emotional now, probably due to tiredness and having to deal with the most shit situation with FIL, i feel so so sorry for my husband, to have it drag on like this is worse than FIL going peacfully and I hate myself for thinking that. Im really struggling to keep a brave face, it was totally heart breaking seeing DH say goodbye to his Dad possibly for the last time. Just a shit situation at a crap time when we are supposed to be all happy and enjoying this. So sorry ladies to vent but its an excellent release, hope u dont mind. xx

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/02/2010 16:53

I agree with you viksam and I found it very strange the first woman had her 18 yr old son in there with her.
The other lady's partner didnt say a single word the whole time or crack a smile or say/do anything supportive for her and she was obv not coping too well in certain points.

Very sorry to hear about your FIL, it sounds v upsetting for you both. Will be thinking of you and hoping for the best {hugs}

beckyg123 · 10/02/2010 16:54

viksam vent away... I really don't have any advice but can offer a virtual ((((HUG)))) it sounds like a very emotional time for you both.

stac14 · 10/02/2010 16:56

viksam really sorry for your situation at the moment hun, its a horrible time especially when you know the outcome. Hope things get easier for you hun

dh21 you have been busy today, I just did some housework and the shopping, have to go visit dps mum tonight and so cant be bothered lol, so you all sorted for tomorrow?

How is everyone today? xx

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/02/2010 17:32

Hi stac I know im exhausted now and I kept having to rest cos I kept feeling little niggles in my uterus so really did alot of sitting down lol. Im not 100% there yet but def got alot done, its the big things really like the sofa and bed etc but DP will do those tomorrow.

We are hiring a van for the day and doing all the moving ourselves with some help from the men in the family so we can do it at our own pace which will be better.

Snow forecast for tomorrow though bloody typical!

stac14 · 10/02/2010 17:57

my cuz is in manchester and had snow today hun, nightmare but probs get everything done quicker since no-one wants to hang about in the snow lol x

Chulita · 10/02/2010 19:10

dh and viksam - apparently the CS lady and her partner went to one hospital for a routine check-up and were blue-lighted to Southampton and she was given a CS prematurely. I think they were both in shock tbh and his reaction was just to be quiet. Another MNer knows them and says that he's a lovely supportive bloke, just wasn't shown in the right light!
viksam, I hope things work out for you and your family, it sounds like a horrible time for all of you

WinterMadness · 10/02/2010 20:08

I thought he seemed canny. You could see he was really scared. The other bloke on the other hand was a complete imbicile. I would have killed him. I also agree, very odd to have your partner AND your son as birth partners???? Wierd.

I was thinking at work today, hopefully I'll have 2 children by the time I have my birthday. Bad case scenario I'll still have one and be 8 days overdue. Worst case scenario I'll spend my 30th birthday in labour. Pleeease don't be late little baby!

Yes I agree with everyone here and I would have probably thumped Steve (husband 1) if he was my husband. Thought then I thought mabe it's cos it's their fourth and he feels it's all under control.
I did think the sed=cond partner was very quiet and seemd unsupportive but it makes sense chulita that he was in total shock as we all react differently. The girl's reaction was to chatter lots.
Sorry to hear about your FIL viksam. tsc I've put down for NCT. I recently moved to a new part of London and don't know anyone here so thought it would be a good way to meet people as well a learn!
You mention you were more in control in your 2nd labour...what was different and how was it better? It is all a bit nerve wracking when you see something like that programme.Makes it real whereas at the moment it seems so far away we can almost ignore the labour bit for now.

stac14 · 10/02/2010 22:55

sorry to sound ignorant but whats NCT? I'm defo going to watch the programme now. Was it wss that had her 20wk scan yesterday? If it was you hun, how did you get on? X

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/02/2010 06:57

ive been up since 6am has pregnancy insomnia started?

YAY its moving day!! Shame its been forecast for heavy snow all day its going to take twice as long now as we wont be able to drive as fast and I really dont feel confident driving in snow anyway.

DeeLite · 11/02/2010 07:47

Good luck with your move, DH. Hope you don't get have snow troubles.

I watched that programme last night and was horrified by that awful man with the glasses. He was acting like a kid and more a hindrance than a help. She asked him to stand by her while she drank some coffee so she could hand the cup back when a contraction came and he said "So, you expect me to stand here holding your coffee cup?" or something along those lines as if she was being unreasonable. I hope he's getting what for from his female work colleagues now. And why oh why was the son there? There are some things that a child should never see its mother do and that's got to be first on the list.

The other girl was incredibly sweet and I really felt for her. I thought her partner was a bit quiet but he may have been daunted by the camera. I was amazed at how unfazed the CS girl was by the camera.

Anyway, off to work now. Have a nice day everyone.

WinterMadness · 11/02/2010 08:09

dh21 wait till August, 6am will be a lie-in, lol

Good luck with the move
