Well done stac - thank goodness someone can work this thing!!

I'm not feeling pregnant at all either at the mo, just knackered. Can't wait to start feeling the kicks like some of you lucky ladies! Scan is 2 weeks on Friday and we are finding out the sex if baby is showing although not telling anyone else - god that will be so hard not to let it slip!

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up.

viksam · 08/02/2010 21:53

Hey guys, Im writing on here so theres no fear of loosing you!! Thanks stac ur a goodun!!
I brought my first pair of maternity jeans on friday. I was quite excited, only when I tried them on did i actually realize how big i have become, i look huge in them. My scan is on the 24th so coming up nice and soon. Right off to bed for another disturbed and unrestfull nights sleep!! xx

orangefizz · 08/02/2010 22:03

Hello, have had internet down for a while so just catching up, new thread already!!!
Had consultant appoint today and have been put back down to normal risk preg, they are happy that there's no greater risk of haemorrhaging with this birth than normal. Got to hear heartbeat again which is always lovely.

Kicks are becoming stronger and more frequent here too, only 2 weeks until 20 (well 21!) week scan, going fast now! Feel like I need to start getting mentally sorted out for this bubba and choose some names etc!!!

Morning all glad we have managed to get on here.

tsc i had terrible heartburn with ds from bout 5months used to go to bed with gaviscon and a 2litre jug of milk. Old wives tale says its meant to mean loads of hair, was true in his case.

My kicks are more frequent, the dog came to lie on my lap last night and lo gave out a kick dont think dog felt it lol

flex its normal to feel like that hun, i was too till the kicks started, all will be fine

orangefizz thats great news bout your labour so they will leave you to go on your own?

viksam it just seems to appear overnight doesnt it? I put on a pair of trousers i had from before i lost weight and they nearly fitted round the waist, luckily its just my tum but if i keep eating crap it wont be lol
Hi to everyone else, whats the plans for today?

beckyg123 · 09/02/2010 07:40

Morning all!
Thats us back and had a great time away - back to work this morning! Booooo!

Well, last night i would have said feeling great and relaxed! However i have been up and down all night with the most vivid nightmares. It has been horrid! witnessed my little brother (through secret webcam!) domestically abusing his girlfriend - they are in australia and i tried to make him face upto it on phone but made everything worse. DH was getting beaten up by gang of neds and i couldn't move to help. my dog got mauled by a wild lion (in glasgow!). WOW its been an emotional night! I had to get up and out of bed after each one so i could get it out my head as kept going back into them!

Off to catch up on end of last thread before going to work. Got aquanatal again tonight - looking forward to it! will hopefully help aide a restful night sleep tonight.

WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2010 07:57

Wow those are full-on dreams you're having there!

Just posting to get this on my threads I'm on!

violetbubbles · 09/02/2010 08:00

Morning everyone!
Thanks for starting the new thread Stac!

My baby kicks are getting more frequent too tsc...felt them whilst sitting yesterday and normally have to be lying down. Was in a meeting at the time and had to let out a little giggle .

Glad you had a good break Becky - it's nice to get away from everything sometimes. Sorry to hear about your nightmares. I had a strange, recurring one last night that I lost my cat and couldn't find him anywhere. I was running around the streets, shouting his name but he was gone

I appear to have 'popped' a bit this week too Viksam - tummy starting to look very round and can no longer fasten normal clothes around it.

Chulita · 09/02/2010 08:36

Morning everyone!
I'm pleased to say that I finally had a night without nightmares. I dreamt a friend had twins in my bath, but that wasn't particularly scary Most of my nightmares have to do with DD being taken away and me not being able to get her back
DH has been crapped all over at work so has to be up at 0530 every morning to get there on time through no fault of his either so he's talking about leaving the army and finding another job. It means there's no hope of him helping settle DD if she wakes up so fingers crossed she'll be a sleepy little girl!
I'm off to SureStart this morning for a cuppa and a chat, hopefully wear DD out so she'll have a good nap
Happy Tuesday!

orangefizz · 09/02/2010 10:19

stac14 yes I can have a 'normal' labour (hopefully) which is great cos I want to try a waterbirth this time...

Yikes those nightmares sound full on Becky!!! I have been having very vivid dreams, but not scary ones. I have got a touch of insomnia at the moment though, waking at 5 - 6.30am every morning then not being able to keep my eyes open when the alarm goes off at 7! V annoying!

Got to take my toddler who won't sit still on a 1 hour train journey this morning - wish me luck!

stac14 · 09/02/2010 12:31

orangefizz i've got the insomnia to, wake up with dp then want to go to sleep when i have to get up for school nightmare. Hope your train journey goes well hun

I have had vivid nightmares were i wake up feeling anxious with my heart pounding, not a nice side effect of pregnancy.

Was at friends mums funeral, so proud of him he kept it together well, his sis was in bits very sad. Hows everyone else's day been? X

OP posts:
WinterMadness · 09/02/2010 13:15

Sorry about the funeral stac

Feel very lucky not to be suffering from the nightmares some of you are! Must be awful...I slept well last night, makes a change!

I got asked an awful lot whether I suffered with heartburn tsc as ds was born with absolutely loads of hair, but I hadn't. Everyone then proceeded to tell me his hair would all fall out. It never did. Only difference is it was black and straight at birth, now it's blonde and curly

'm still finding it wierd that this baby's so much gentler. For example I'm feeling kicks now, but whereas my son really booted me, these are so delicate!

chulita how do you feel about dh leaving the army? My dh is ex-army but he'd already left when we met. A lot of his good mates are also ex-army although they didn't serve together. The military lifestyle never really leaves them though, I think it's in their blood

Oh well, better go back to work. Wish I could stay here and do nothing!

beckyg123 · 09/02/2010 13:16

Think i'm finally managing to shake the anxiety from the nightmares! Called my brother and his girlfriend and we all had a good laugh about it- its more likely to be the other way round any even thats unlikely! Glad to hear i'm not the only one experiencing these vivid nightmares - it is so stressful!

have MW appt on Fri morning and scan on 22nd orangefizz just 13 days to go for us! - time flying by just now!

Have chosen pram i think (icandy apple) which ticks all my boxes so quite excited. MIL wants to buy pram but this is way too expensive so think we will go halfers!

Have also chosen our names (for now!!!) and both agree so i'm happy. Not going to find out the baby's sex as we both love surprises!

I feel so organised - not actually bought anything yet but i don't think there is anything wrong with that! Its amazing what a relaxing weekend can do for your head!

stac glad the funeral was ok and your friend managed to get through.

chulita sounds like things are stressful with DPs work! hope it all calms down soon.

Chulita · 09/02/2010 13:28

winter - I don't really know tbh. He was quite serious about signing off when he got shot in the foot on tour in Iraq - shook him up a lot but he stayed in. I think what puts him off is the uncertainty of what he'd do next and where we'd live cos we truly have absolutely no idea. (his parents are in St Albans where we grew up but don't want to live there! and mine are in Wrexham but only just moved there) And, the crap he's getting now is cos he's on a career course and in Blandford which is renowned for being really bullshitty. I think if he can grit his teeth and get through this year he can actually start doing his job again and it might be easier (although he really doesn't want to leave DD for extended periods). All a bit at the mo!
becky @ icandy, they're lurvely! Just sooooo expensive...

viksam · 09/02/2010 15:42

Hi Everyone,
Its supposed to be my day off today but had to go in till 1 coz the boss came!! TUT
Went off to the new 'big' mothercare after and I was really dissapointed, the sign is bigger than the shop!! There were two rails of m2b clothes that I thought were over priced for what they were, was really looking forward to going there too. Oh well, of to Brum the weekend so looking forward to doing some shopping there, think Ill check out H&M for clothes and theres a big Mamas and Papas there and for a laugh might pop in to selfridges to look at what i cant afford!!Pleant of icandy there I bet. I have put the other half in charge of the pram and he is quite into it, coz it has wheels and is gadgety i recon! Cant wait for my 20 wk scan, winter, be sure to tell all, are u the first of us to go??

Wonderstuff · 09/02/2010 15:52

Hi all
Been a bit of a strange day, was out on a course all morning, left feeling quite inspired, now back at school and am here until 8 because of parents eve and no sign of any food yet - it had better appear, can't go till then without a sarnie.

My boss collared me in the staffroom yesterday, asking when I was leaving and how long for - v. professional she is! I have already spoken to her, she'd obv. forgotten, she also wanted to clarify when I worked! I swear she has no idea what I do. Then she, for the second time, asked how on earth I was going to cope with 2!! I have had no time off with DD, I have a dh, she wouldn't ask a bloke this would she apparently she isn't going to cover me, she is going to put someone in my role while I'm off and I'll be 'extra' when I come back! Today another colleague asked if my job was 'being kept open' Its my bloody job and I am allowed to go on mat leave and come back to it - that is the law!! Spitting feathers I was. Anyway - off to see if food has arrived. May be back later, only got 3 parents to see..

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/02/2010 16:14

Hi everyone,

Went to see my friend today and she cant believe im only 17 weeks, I look alot further on.

Also still trying to pack as much stuff up as I can it seems to be taking so long, I just want to get out of here!

Hope everyone has a good evening

viksam · 09/02/2010 17:32

God Wonder thats terrible. She actually said u would be 'extra' when you come back?? is that legal? she sounds an idiot. I know it must be difficult when women go off but its not our fault that we have to carry the baby for nearly 10 months then push it out is it! My husband had a word the other night telling me i need to slow down and take it easy, well he is probably right but i dont want to be shelved or pushed out however thats the way it feels and its about to get worse. We have cluster group's aranged geographically and they have just been realigned all in favour of the bloke taking over my position........the boss mentioned it this morning, i think to guage my opinion. What are u supposed to do, take it on the chin and be gracefull for the needs of the business or kick up a fuss and be branded a hormonal pregnant woman who cant see the big picture??? its really difficult. I took the first option but i did say, make sure he knows its only temporary and I'll be back.......wether I will or not and in what capacity, who knows but im going to stick to that for the time being. I didnt anticipate feeling like this i thought i wouldnt care but i do, is that sad.

stac14 · 09/02/2010 19:05

viks and wonder the treatment from your workplaces sounds shocking, if your worried call the employment law helpline, they can tell you your rights so you can go back to your employer with what your entitled to. Hope you both get sorted.

dh21 not long till the big move bet you can't wait hun, we gutted the bedroom and all i'm fit for is my bed lol

Thanks for your kind words about the funeral. A nice thing happened today though, dp passed his driving test so he can drive me about now lol. X
