Due May 2010: Into the third trimester we go, can the bumps get any bigger?

MarquiseDeMerteuil · 02/02/2010 14:19

So here's the continuation of the thread previously known as Due May 2010: Where we get a 'bloom' just in time for the christmas mayhem???
Let's see if this one lasts up until the first birth... Knowing how chatty we can be, I doubt it!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

twentithcenturyfox Thankyou for your kind words and hugs! I need them at the min!

Pagen yes bizare we both have dizziness, Ive got the shakes too and cant walk far, which is very frustrating. Maybe we both feel dizzy because of low lying baby...strange isnt it, Ive never carried this low before?

ml How big!You must have back ache! Wow, Ive gone from 34b to 34dd and I have to say cant wait to get my small boobs back!!! Only would like them back pert... i wish

memorylapse · 20/03/2010 20:22

mustbemad...its funny they dont look big to me..but maybe they are overshadowed by the huge bump..they are definitely not perky anymore though..so normally when Im not preg I tend to wear push em up bras!

sickness bug is flying through us all..now DS2 has it..Ive felt off colour this evening too..desperatrely hoping I dont get it..

not sleeping now as due to baby having engaged Im back and forth to the loo...34 weeks on tuesday and DH has panicked and asked me to pack my hospital bag

Pagen..glad you are feeling better..

Ive been dizzy too..have put it down to low BP..usually about 90/50..turned over in bed today and felt very woozy and lightheaded...mind you anaemia makes you dizzy too and Ive noticed that when my blood sugars drop I feel dreadful

pigleychez · 20/03/2010 21:13

Yorky- Thank Mr Yorky for sorting the secret stork

Hope everyone with Aches and pains are felling better soon.

pagen- sounds like a good MW visit

sorry for not overly personal replys. Feel abit rude spending ages catching up when I should be spending it with my parents ( althought they do watch some crap on Tv that its a pleasant break!)

Weekends going ok so far.No inappropraite comments and seem to be paying DD a decent amount of attention. DD is very clingy towards me though when they are around so not really getting any break as she only wants me to do everything. Oh well, Im away for a long weekend with the girls next weekend so a nice break to look forward to.

Dh is at a stag do in Dublin and from what little I have heard from him they appear to be having a good time.

Baby has been wriggling for England and amazed my dad at seeing my whole tummy jigging about. Dad felt it and said it feels like theres only a thin layer of skin between baby and the outside,no padding or fluid as you can really feel the bones etc. Thats exactly how I feel!

Killer back ache tonight after a busy day. We all took DD swimming in the morning then Mum wanted to go shopping, which we did but sooooo tired out now! Going for an early night I think... catch up properly tomorrow evening.

kateyjane · 20/03/2010 21:50

Good evening everyone.
Once again I am so behind - sorry!

It sounds as though everyone is having a rough time at the moment. I hope you are all managing to get at least a bit of rest this weekend. I've just had DD1's 8th birthday party which has nearly finished me off Can't believe how full on 8 year old girls can be!

Memory - Hope you don't come down with the bug, there seem to be a lot of nasty ones around at the moment. Sorry this is from ages ago, but really glad your bile acids were okay. Hope the itching has settled down. Hope the dizziness gets better.

mustbemad and Pagen - Hope the dizziness is settling down.

Angel and Pamelat - Hope you are feeling better.

Pigley - Hope you are having a good weekend with your parents

Hollyoaks - Hope you are feeling better, was very impressed with your home surgery. Really hope that you are recovering.

Forces - Lovely to hear from you. Sorry you are feeling so rough. The best advice I've had so far was from SK, in that everyday is a day nearer - think that has become my mantra!!

SK - Hope you are okay and that you've had a restful (as much as possible) weekend.

Yorky - Thanks for sorting out the secret stork, have received my first e-mail.

I know I am bound to have missed lots of people out. I'm really sorry, I am thinking about you all and love reading everyones posts. Think it is just about the only thing keeping me going

Well I'm determined not to moan (for once ) Things are continuing pretty much the same for me. Anaemia has raised it's ugly head again and despite taking 800mg ferrous sulphate and spatone per day my body doesn't seem to absorb it. So am being admitted for a TDI (total iron infusion) tomorrow. I had to have this a few times with my last 2 pregnancies, it looks a bit like you're having IV iron bru for 8 hours!
Have been put on tomazopan (sp?) to sleep at night as was averaging about 90mins (with several baths!) I will never ever think about a simple itch in the same way again after this. Hate the fact that I am on so much medication, don't like to think about what it is doing to the poor LO Fortunately all my scans so far show that LO is doing just fine, which is great.

I agree about keeping this thread going until we've all delivered. Again (like Hollyoaks said) I am near the end of the month However as it stands at the moment (Friday) the consultant was talking about inducing at 35-36 weeks, so maybe joining those at the beginning?

Can't remember who was asking about buggy boards (sorry) I couldn't get on with mine - kept tripping on it (think I'm clumsy ), but lots of my friends swore by theirs.

Have actually bought a few bits and pieces, so starting to feel a bit more excited and positive. Have got the carry cot to go with my icandy apple, and can't wait to use it - feel like a big kid!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend - sorry for the long post. I am going to try and keep up this week

memorylapse · 20/03/2010 22:15

Kateyjane...dont panic about being on the tamazepan..as long as its just short term...my itching has got worse..Ive taken all the skin off my arms, shoulders and feet..and have big wheals there..b ut yesterdays bile acids were normal again...

sweetkitty · 20/03/2010 22:21

Happy Saturday everyone, had really miserable few days (sorry) DD1 is having a rough time at school just now so am going to have to go and sort that out, she's only 5 and so immature and tiny really feel for her , then DP has been away with work all of Thursday and was due back Friday afternoon and didn't turn up until 11.30am TODAY so two days on my phone with not a phonecall only some v short e-mails about late planes and staying with a mate. Am utterly livid with him, last thing I needed after MW visit/DD1 and the ongoing nightmare SPD. Had 4 hours sleep last night as well.

kateyjane - what a tough time you are having please don't feel you cannot moan on here this is what the thread is for the ups and the downs and to share our experiences. I know what you mean about not liking taking drugs, you must be shattered with the itching and the lack of iron, I hope the tranfusion thing works for you. Hey another day crossed off, one day less until we meet our babies and it's almost April .

pigley - glad you are doing OK at your parents, I know my Mum would be the same if golden child brother had children, he doesn't though not that she even bothers with mine. I feel the same that I have hardly any fluid round the baby he feels so hard and bony. The big two were delighted he had hiccups tonight too.

ML - you try and take it easy rest when you can, I feel dizzy a lot too probably the cocodamols as well, they make me spaced out and sicky I hate the feeling but need to take them. I bought the toiletries for my hospital bag yesterday as well

pagen - sorry to hear about your antibiotic nightmare, most people I know with GrB Strep have an antibiotic drip about 4 hours before delivery. I'm with you on the emotional front as well, I don't know what it is about pregnancy making sane rational women becoming so vunerable.

yorky - got my e-mail thanks

pamelat - thanks for your advice on my other thread. You are right my SPD has gotten worse not helped by the fact I have had 4 babies in less than 6 years and apart from 2 months have been pregnant or BFing since Nov 2003 so my body feels really weak, well after this one my pelvis can have a rest lol

Heffa - I am not contemplating a buggy board for DD3 she is a wild child loves running free no way she would stay on it. She refuses to be carried now and barely tolerates the pram and as soon as she is donw she is off. Oh and reins, she lay down and howled like a wounded animal! I think she sees her older sisters running free and thinks I want some of that lol

I agree with you and Forces, I think because people cannot see SPD and don't understand it you get less sympathy. I remember the first time even the MW said "we some back pain is common in pregnancy" it was only through MN I found out it was SPD. I knew I would get it again but was not going to allow it to stop me having another baby it will be worth it I know but right now it seems a long way off doesn't it?

mustbemad - poor you that's a lot to cope with. Try to take it easy this weekend and you know the baby will be absolutely fine.

Right am starving am off for some Crunchy Nuts before bed

Gils · 20/03/2010 22:46

OMG nearly 1000 posts and we thought this might do us till due dates!

I haven't even attempted to catch up on everyones posts, I promise I will get round to it.

Centre Parcs was great and DD really enjoyed herself. All the walking completly did me in. First night DD and niece had terrible night and I had couple hours sleep! Took a lot of pains while I was away, sure it as all the walking. My younger sister and her husband are so lazy. Mum still in sling, dad in wheelchair (although one of the laziest people I have ever meet) so felt like myslef and DH did everything. Even when sis made show of me doing to much she would sit back down and watch me do all the cleaning even if I had asked for help. She isn't exactly renowned for her cleaniness at home. My house is def not spotless but hers is just vile. Arghh. Was determied this holiday wold not end up in usual arguements so just bit my tongue and ranted at DH when they were away.

It was lovely to get away but glad to get home and have some time just 3 of us.

Can't believe how sore and tired I am. Just feel completly drained and my boobs are kiling me. If its not stabbing throbbing pains it feels like someone is going over my nipples with sandpaper. To top it all of stretchmarks got worse and couple actually bleed a bit.

OK enough of moaning and me talk.

Hope you are all fine, althoug quickly sanning posts on thi page makes me think e are all struggling a bit just now.

Enjoy rest of your weekend. Will catch up on posts soon

TomlinTowers · 20/03/2010 22:46

Hi All

Sorry to hear so many of us are being struck down at the end of the pregnancy - the joys of the third trimester!

I am coping OK at the moment - just feel very heavy all of a sudden. I think the bump has dropped and getting kicks and prods at the top and bottom, so hoping that means the baby is the right way round, fingers crossed! It is weird to see bump wobbling around though - I had forgotten this bit. I am wearing a jersey type top today, and it has shown every prod and wobble - loose tops for me from now on I think!

Also, I am getting really weird sort of stabbing pains right in my cervix (sorry if tmi!). It's almost like baby has a finger or a foot pressed right on it and its sooo painful, but only for about 10 seconds until baby moves again. Has anyone else had this?

For those suffering with SPD, it sounds dreadful! I have a bad back but at least I can sit down and ease it with a hot water bottle - I hope the relief is instant when you give birth.

Kateyjane and Memorylapse - the itching sounds unbearable, I pass on my sympathies.

I am going to try and find the raspberry leaf caps - I had raspberry leaf tea last time and managed all of one mouthful, truly the most terrible tasting drink of all time.

Two more weeks at work and then will feel like I can start preparing properly - got DH up in the loft last week and managed to find the pram but no hood, the car seat but no base, and can't find the changing bag at all! Need a good root round I think! And some of the stuff I did save from last time, I now look at and think "Why???" Will have to have another charity bagging/bin clearance session I think!

kateyjane · 20/03/2010 23:25

ML - so sorry about your itching. Can they put it down to anything else? It sounds so similar to mine, I am really surprised that your bile acids are normal. Have they given you any piriton or phenergan? to try and relieve it? Also for me the tomazopan has really really helped. I really hope they are helping you - I have had some vague relief from bathing in oilatum, I literally cover myself in it from head to foot before bed. I'm getting through a large bottle a week, but the consultant has been happy to perscribe it (cos it costs a fortune from Boots!)It also helps with the red raw skin and sores. Are your LFT's back to normal? or is it just your bile acids? It sounds (in my very non expert opinion) that they are not doing enough to help you, especially when you have other health issues, it is the last thing you need to be dealing with. Hope things improve for you soon.

SK - Things sound awful for you. Sorry your DD is having a hard time. It is awful when they are unhappy and you feel powerless to do anything. I think school issues are the worst. I know this sounds control freakish on my part, but I hate the fact that I can't protect them from everything that I wouldn't wish them to go through Hope you manage to get things sorted out. I feel so bad for you with the SPD, it sounds absolutely horrific and must be so difficult to manage with your other DC's, especially when your DH is away. It made me smile when you said it's nearly April. The end is at last in sight Like you I am happy in the knowledge that I will never ever have to do this again. Having said that I would have put myself through anything to have my wonderful DC's as I'm sure would everyone on this thread. They are worth everything

Gils - Glad you still managed to enjoy yourself despite everything. Hopefully you can put your feet up a bit now you're home

Tomlin - Hope you enjoy your last 2 weeks. I have ocasionally had sharp cervix pains this time, but when I had DD2 I had lots and she was born with her hand next to her face, think it was her hand and fingers wriggling that caused it - only lasts a short time, but very disconcerting!

littleowls · 21/03/2010 09:16

Morning everyone!

I thought I'd try and catch up this weekend as its usually quieter, boy was I wrong! Lots going on this weekend on the thread. I've missed so much over the week and I can't believe this thread is almost full.

Sorry to hear about everyone suffering, aches and pains and family stuff. Hopefully when LOs come, all this will be a distant memory. I don?t feel I have anything which is making me feel terrible, so I suppose I am lucky. I just keep thinking that the end is in sight!

The last week I have been getting all my work up to date for the teacher covering me while I?m on ML, I feel very protective over my class and I know I?m going to hate someone else being their teacher for this last term! BUT only 5 days of work left then I?m free and easy, hopefully I?ll get the house cleaned from top to bottom during the 4 weeks prior to due date! Hope so...

yorky - I emailed mr.yorky yesterday, but I might have been too late! Not to worry if I was x

I don?t have anything interesting to add really, baby has grown on growth scan and I?ll be having another one in 2 weeks. Everything else seems fine and BP is still normal for me.

I?m going to dash off ? I?ll catch up more later when I?ve woken up more and hopefully my brain may be in gear!

Hollyoaks · 21/03/2010 09:40

Littleowls - at your ml starting so soon and your organisation. I have got till 14th May before I go, though don't know of I'll make it. I'm making it my goal to get through the syllabus with my year 11 GCSE class and then I'll feel happy to go early if need be.

SK - sorry your having a hard time at the minute. Keep counting down those days till its all over.

Gils - hope you had a good time at CP despite your messy family. We're going to Sherwood in July after baby arrives, looking forward to it but never been with a baby so little. I will be definitely taking it easy and no bike riding for me!

Tomlin - I love watching the baby squirming around though I could do without it squashing my bladder so much.

KJ - hope the iron infusion goes well today and you feel a difference afterwards. I'm only on one iron tablet a day and I feel like crap, really tired, nauseous and lots of headaches , wonder if they need to increase my dose? The thought of work this week is killing me and another day with dd on my own is pretty daunting too.

Enjoy whats left of the weekend.

memorylapse · 21/03/2010 10:57

just a quick post as have loads to do today..will catch up properly later...

KJ..they keep telling me its probably an allergy..but I must admit..last night I started thinking things like "what if they got my results mixed up with someone elses etc"..or what if the lab made a mistake..Im not overly happy..they say that now..both my LFT'S and Bile Acids are normal..Im back in clinic on weds so Im going to ask to see my consultant and see what she says because Im not happy...I havent got sleeping tabs or anhything..but they gave me piriton and aqueaous cream with menthol..once I get off to sleep, the itching doesnt wake me..its the SPD that does that..but as soon as Im awake..I start itching again..

ForcesSweetheart · 21/03/2010 12:02

Pagen no worries on the deja-vu, when I saw your post my first thought was "I hope she copied and pasted and didn't type that all out again!" Sorry you missed the NCT Sale, if you'd said you wanted to go I coulda picked you up en route, wasn't sure if you'd be up for it with the way you've been feeling. If it makes you feel any better I'll shift myself to the top of the list as I'll be having mollybump on 22nd April at the latest!

ML has the DV bug passed you by yet?? Fingers crossed for you. I think mollybump must be engaged here too, as the pressure down there is immense, feel like if I strain too much on the loo she'll pop out (sorry for the tmi lol). The itching sounds awful, I read somewhere that they sometimes treat as if cholestasis is present if symptoms persist even if
lab results are negative as it's not completely unknown for lab tests not to pick anything up til long after symptoms start, might be worth asking them if they have any plans to do this? My itching has calmed down completely. Starting to think it was the small Angora content of my new jumper that may have kicked it off last weekend rather than anything more sinister! The hospital registrar suggested putting a knotted sock filled with porridge oats in the bath to help the itching.

SK was talking to DH about this SPD discussion yesterday when we were out for lunch. I suggested to him that to help him empathise I could kick him in the n*tz every 10 minutes for 24 hours, his reply was "you already do!"

I've been trying to express this past few days - IFA at hospital suggested just trying for 1 minute per day from now til 36 weeks to prepare for harvesting some colostrum from 36-38 weeks to freeze for when mollybump's blood sugar drops after delivery. After my spectacular failure to get BF'ing going last time I wasn't hopeful I'd get anything out, but I was psyched to find a little droplet on the end of my nipple after a minute with a manual pump! Hard to believe that in a couple of weeks there's going to be enough to freeze but I'll keep plugging away at it anyway. Hopefully Molly will latch straight away and it won't be an issue like it was with Lola.

Have had a nice weekend so far. Went to the NCT sale yesterday morning and got loads of bargains. Got 4 summer weight 0-6mth sleeping bags for £2 a throw, a swaddle wrap for £3, some lovely little outfits and baby toys for next to nothing, some maternity combats (which turned out to be just too small) and a couple of little bits for Lola. Was V disappointed that they didn't have a cake stall! The home-baked cakes have been a highlight of every NCT sale I've been too! When I got home from the sale and recovered with a cuppa we went out for lunch to a pub that was recommended by a friend. The food was lovely, I had a delish mushroom stroganoff but it was a bit on the pricey side so won't be in a rush to go back there. Today DH is taking DD on a road trip to Maidenhead (they should be gone about 3-4 hours so I get to hog the remote and veg on the sofa). My uncle brought Mollys pram down from Glasgow when he was in Gloucester on business this week and gave it to a colleague he thought would be coming over our way and could drop it off. Turns out he really had no concept of where we live in relation to this guy, hence DH having to go to Maidenhead to meet up with him. Woulda been easier if I had just gone to Gloucester and met my uncle!

Still feeling deathly tired and lethargic all the time, despite taking 4 iron a day now washed down with a glass of OJ as instructed. Am going to ask at the hospital tomorrow about the possibility of an infusion.

Forces...theyve been checking my levels since 28 weeks and they said they wont check anymore as OC would have shown up by now..dont feel entirely confident in that response though and will be pursueing it...

I am anxious about the blood sugar drop after deliv ery..never had GD with the others..but consultant doesnt seem concerned..she said they expect it..and is looking to possibly induce at 37 weeks now as LO is obviously getting too much sugar..last weeks growth scan put her on the top centile line..consultant said she is much more likely to need a glucose drip after delivery...but theyve said nothing about expressing etc...

ML Expressing prior to birth for mother's with diabetes isn't something they routinely recommend everywhere. At Salisbury they do, but just down the road in Swindon where my friend's a midwife they don't. I found out about it by internet research after the fiasco with DD and was planning to ask Salisbury about it but they brought it up first. When DD was born Frimley insisted I give her bottle feeds from 1hr post birth as she wouldn't latch, and this ontinued for the first 36 hours while they observed her in SCBU, which I felt contributed hugely to her continuing to refuse to latch. I mean, why would she bother to work at BFing when she's getting 4 hourly formula from a bottle. This time around the plan is to have small syringes of frozen colostrum to give her either from the syringe or from a cup if she doesn't latch. That way she's not getting used to either formula or a bottle.

Hello all,

I've been trying to write down little notes throughout the week of things I wanted to comment on, but the earlier things seem so long ago now, the thread moves so quickly!

I can sympathise with all carrying low, I am now having a lot of trouble walking with the pressure on my bladder. (I have added my 31 week photo!) Despite carrying low, I am still getting heartburn after everything I eat! Tomlin I am also experiencing the stabbing pains in the cervix, not so nice!

So sorry to all of you suffering with the SPD and itchiness, especially you ML, it must be so frustrating! Heffa glad to hear that you got a physio referral for your SPD and are being taken more seriously!

AnAngel I hope you're feeling better!

Newmomma I hope the baby doesn't stay breech!

Cupcake I also agree to staying on the ante natal thread until we've all had the babies. If this one is anything like my last one, I'll probably be at the end of the month as well!

Forces it's exciting that you're having your LO on 22 April, when the day comes, the rest of our turns will seem no time at all!

Kateyjane I hope you feel better after the iron infusion!

SK I would have been livid if my DH hadn't responded when I expected him and tried to get in touch! I hope things get better for your DD at school. I remember having school troubles at an early age and it being quite stressful!

Gils welcome back! Good job on coping and biting your tongue! Glad your DD enjoyed herself, It must make it seem all worth it! about the bleeding stretch marks!

MDM that Urbo pram looks fab, I wish I had more money to spend on one! The video on the website looks like a car advert! I am still looking for a Quinny Buzz on eBay, but can only afford £120, so hoping we'll get lucky in the next few weeks! At least my HIP Grant money has been paid in to my account!

Some of you mentioned restless legs a while back - I am waking in the night with restless arms, it is really odd! I just feel really jittery like I want to punch the air and shake my arms out vigourously!

I've had a really busy few days. Thursday I took DS to the toddler group and then we got straight on the bus to the hospital for my consultant appointment. I went over all my labour notes from when I had DS with her and feel a lot better getting some feedback about my specific experience. I think I am beginning to get over the trauma I felt just in understanding that I actually did a pretty damn good job and where things could have gone better. I know that Consultants probably say this to every patient, but mine feels that I would have delivered DS with no problems had my pain been managed appropriately. I had an epidural which was not working properly, but the midwives were so sure that I would be "delivering in the next 30 minutes" (for quite a few hours) and so did not get the anaesthetist back to fix it. Someone (I think it was Schipo) had asked earlier in the week if anyone was going to go in and ask for an epidural straight away...I think that if I can't get in the birthing pool then I will be asking for the epidural straight away. Part of me thinks maybe just have a go without it and see if I can cope, but then I remember how great the relief was when I first got the epidural and it was working properly - it was heaven! My consultant also said she was amazed that I was contracting so hard and rapidly at the early stages of my labour with DS, and that I had gotten to 5cms and fully effaced within 2 hours of my waters breaking. Now I'm scared that with this one I won't make it to hospital in time!

I've been scheduled a growth scan for 2 weeks' time. It will be interesting to see how big they estimate baby is. I'm excited to see the baby again.

Friday went to Legoland, DS loved it (so did DH) but all the walking has really tired me out. Then off to work for Saturday and today. Will be taking advantage of DH's day off tomorrow to get some much-needed rest!

I hope that you all had a good weekend!

memorylapse · 21/03/2010 17:30

Forces..thanks for that info..I might ask my consultant..I BF all of mine and would be pretty gutted if I couldnt feed LO because she had formula in scbu..they do have to work harder at breastfeeding so it stands to reason that if they are given formula..it can upset the breastfeeding...

Yorky · 21/03/2010 21:37

Sweetkitty - interesting what you say about your SPD getting worse with successive pregnancies, I haven't had an issue with SPD previously but having been pregnant and/or bfeeding since May 2006 I suppose my body isn't as young as it was! This is the first time I've felt like, "What, another 10 wks still to go"

ML hope you are getting away without catching a DV bug, DD has had a couple of nasty ones recently and I am so glad I managed to avoid them

Fascinated by what you say, Forcessweetheart, about the difference in approaches to feeding diabetic babies in different hospitals, even quite close to each other, especially as my friend is hoping to have hers at Swindon.

myfirstbump, DH has just sorted the secret stork and says you're just down the road from us, fancy meeting up? Do you mind if I email you?

Seeing MW on Tues so will hopefully sort out keeping on with planed HB, spoke to Dhs cousin who is a GP who said that while she wouldn't ever choose a HB for herself as she has only seen complicated/problem births during training, she can't see anything in my history which would make a hospital delivery necessary
Mum helped me sort out the ridiculously enormous pile of clothes that DC have grown out of so we can find the size/gender we need much more easily

Sorry to those I've missed, hope you've had good weekends

brightredballoon · 21/03/2010 21:38

Hi everyone

I am absolutely shattered so wont even try to reply to anyone but wanted to say hello as the thread had dropped off my "active" list.

myfirstbump · 22/03/2010 08:36

Eek, how long was I away? Nearly 1000 posts!

yorky - I've got the email from Mr Y. I think there are a few of us round here now. The idea of a meetup did get floated a couple of weeks ago - I'm up for it if everyone else is? Would be fun to put faces to names! Def get in touch.

Last time I checked, someone asked about Britax pushchairs, and now I can't find the post. I'm probably not going back far enough knowing us... I ordered mine from the Baby Show in London last month, as I'd only seen them online. BUT I went into Mothercare last weekend when I was visiting my Mum and they have them in there - might only be bigger branches though. Hope you find it to test, if you haven't already given up. Mine should be coming in the next week or so - I'm so excited!

Picked up my new car yesterday too. It's only a Grande Punto, but it has the all important back doors, so I'm happy. Fingers crossed I'll get everything I need in the boot...

Will try and up with everything I've missed now. We can talk can't we???

Pagen · 22/03/2010 08:50

Good morning ladies, hope you all had a lovely braxton-free weekend
I overdid it a bit yesterday but it was worth it, had a lovely long walk with Chris and our doggy tyler in the sunshine and then helped out whilst Chris tidied the garden for me so i can enjoy it this week...should the rain stop!
Had my worst braxtons so far this morning for an hour, bad backache and period-like stitch pains on and off...all settled now...god I'm really looking forward to the actual labour if this is a taster of whats to come

SweetKitty - I had a similar incident with Chris last week, he was spending the day playing golf for a leaving do thing but had told me he really didn't want to go and would try to get back early. Well I didn't hear from him all day and when i finally rang him at tea time he didn't understand why I was stressed that he hadn't even called to let me know if he was coming home to eat...he got the phone slammed down on him and when he called back I was full on with the waterworks (Hell, adverts make me cry at the moment so no suprise really! LOL)...he rushed home, which made me feel bad about ruining his fun which brought on more waterworks...I doubt he'll forget to ring me again!

Gils - My nips seem to be going through another painful period too...we must be getting near the end. No leaking yet, has anyone else started getting leaking yet? When does that happen?
I've been lucky with the stretch marks so far but think some may be starting on the tops of my thighs...no beddin though! God poor you, another thing I didn't know about!

TomlinTowers - I had the same stabbing pains yesterday, last time i had them the midwife told me they are just signs that everything is moving apart....I usually get them after I've done too much walking.

Forces - No worries, I only write one long email a day and then cut and paste to whoever I'm writing to...else I'd be on here wayyyyy too much, and that would seriously interupt my sleeping and peeing schedual LOL I'm soooo annoyed i missed the sale, I def would have been up for it I just completely forgot. I was told there is another one in a month in malborough though so if i can I'll try to make that...if I'm not in a birthing pool at the time .
Is it today you are in hospital again? I hope you do get that infusion because it sounds like you really need it! Poor you, you're really having a rough time of it. Kinda makes me feel like a wuss for whinging about my probs!

Just read what a few of you are saying about expressing...seriously! I'm fairly sure there isn't anything in mine yet..I didn't even know you could express so soon!

Right, I'm planning an easy day today so I can rest up and hopefully make it to the cinema to see Alice in Wonderland later this aft...I've had to cancel twice before as evening showings are just too tiring..but after a week off and bining the antibiotics I'm hoping today will be OK

Hope you all have a lovely ache-free day!

Gils · 22/03/2010 09:00

Officially at 32 weeks now. Keep telling myself 10 weeks to go since I was 11 days over with DD. Think going to go and buy new mattress for the crib today although its an old my gran bought for her grandaughters and its a nighmare getting on to fit. Only other essential is car seat then I'll be happy with what I have until baby arrives.

Congrats on the car my first bump. Yorky I am with you, surprised at the differences you can get from one hospital to anothr in relatively close prox. You would think with the push towards BF that ever hospital would be encouraging it.

Happy Monday everyone. I'm away to take my mum to grans today. Seemed a good idea when I suggested it.

The temp covering my job starts today. Feels weird knowing she will be there just now and I am notback in till Wed. Oh hate training

Carikube · 22/03/2010 09:34

Happy Monday everyone....
Haven't posted for ages but have been reading to try and keep up with everyone though at the moment my brain is so addled that I can't actually remember anything to write back to individuals apart from Pagen my boobs have been leaking for weeks and I have to sleep in my bra or else I wake up to wet pjs and wet sheets . I didn't start leaking this early with DD and my boobs don't seem any bigger than with her (wearing the same size maternity bra though as I'm a 36E normally they do tend to get in the way/get squashed in bed!).

Feeling rubbish here have had a cold for over two weeks now that just won't go away and I'm fed up of not having a sense of smell (though it's handy when it comes to DD's nappies ). Add to that the heartburn and now I have developed major toothache (fortunately I have managed to get a dentist appt for tomorrow) and I feel a bit of a wreck. Oh well, it's DD's first ever day at nursery today (she's going to be doing one full day a week just to give me a break) so I think I will make the most of it and veg out and catch up on some sleep...
