So here's the continuation of the thread previously known as Due May 2010: Where we get a 'bloom' just in time for the christmas mayhem???
Let's see if this one lasts up until the first birth... Knowing how chatty we can be, I doubt it!

HI all

ML - good news on the bile salt results.

LuckyC - sounds like your having a really stressful time which won't help your health, thats why I think my health is suffering at the moment and contributed towards me having early contractions a few weeks back. Sounds like you have the right idea in terms of concentrating on you and dh and the little time you have left as a couple. I hope you feel better soon.

Myfirst - our nursery bedding is neutral so thats what we went for with dd and re-using it for this lo so again going for neutral beige, but the pale green sounds lovely. I would go with that.

Just as an update, the antibiotics I'm on were only containing the infection rather than getting rid of it and the pain was unbearable. I couldn't even bear to hold by 5 month old dn and sleep was out of the question. So, whilst in the bath last night soaking it I spotted the nail scissors and in a moment of sheer desperation lanced it myself. Without giving you the gory details it has reduced from the size of a golf ball to maybe a marble. The relief is immense and I slept like a log for 7 hours last night.

pigleychez · 12/03/2010 12:27

SK- I can second the sleep bra. Bought that one with DD.

Firstbump- re colour. I think both would look nice. Depends if you can find a green you like that will match. Our nursery is cream with neuteral teddy bear bedding.

ML- glad the test came back ok.

Lucky- Families can be a pain in the arse cant they!!

Hollyoaks- Loving the DIY surgery!

Been really gassy the past few days I burped at dinner last night and got the shock of my life from DD. She looks at me and says "Do you mind!" - Guessing shes got that from me telling DH off! Was so funny!

DD had a bad night last night, very unsettled because of her cold and was awake at least 5 times during the night [yawn]
Im knackered and have caught her cold. feel really run down today.
Looking forward to her nap time today so I can get some rest too.

LuckyC · 12/03/2010 14:59

Thanks memory you are right on both counts - just called dentist and he said 'Did I really prescribe you that much? I would stop taking them now' but so big relief there. And MIL is going to be gently but firmly told to find some love and support for her son and her grandchild and otherwise back off!

Goodness Hollyoaks hardcore self-surgery but well done. Hope you also can carve out some time to relax, destress and start to feel better.

Same goes for everyone - here's to calm weekends, end of winter and feeling better all round.

AnAngelWithin · 12/03/2010 15:23

afternoon ladies. Hope you are well. Sorry I am so drained, if i miss anything I am sorry.

Hollyoaks, bless ya, I can sympathise. Glad you got a bit of relief. just make sure you keep it clean now.

ML hope the bump paint goes well.

LuckyC, I can't stand that antibiotic. Gives me awful tummy cramps.

I appear to have caught DD2s bug and have spent all day running to the toilet. Was sick a while ago as well Luckily my darling FIL said he would do the school run for me. I fell asleep for nearly an hour and a half earlier woke up at 1.45. Poor dd hadn't had any lunch or anything bless her. But she had been so good and even put her blanket over me

The police got back to me about the dog, they had another complaint about it going for someone else on the same day. They pulled the bloke into the station and told him that muzzled or not it was unacceptable to let the dog behave like that, and that another incident like that and they will be forced to take more serious action. Ok in a way I suppose, just hope that next time, its not a kid that it hurts and its too late.... but at least its all on file now.

Sweetpeasmum · 12/03/2010 16:47

Hollyoaks - glad you feel better! I've done that with a cyst before (and every subsequent time it got infected). The doc eventually removed the cyst/scar tissue under local anaesthetic and I haven't had any bother since.

Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy Sunday if you can!

littleowls · 12/03/2010 19:03

Hollyoaks - eek! at the cyst surgery. Must be a relief though to get rid of it.

angel - that's good about the police doing something about the owner of the vicious dog. It doesn't bear thinking about really, hopefully there won't be a next time.

Luckyc - sorry that you're having a tough time with MIL. You can only be tolerant for so long, sometimes its best to get it off your chest even if it upsets people.

ML - That's good news about your test results.

pigley - sorry your DD has been having sleepless nights AND you have her cold now. I feel shattered and I have been having quite good sleeps and I don't have anyone else to worry about or organise. Like all other mums of current LOs on here, I don't know how you all do it! I am going to get such a shock in 7 weeks time!

Off to my DPs again this weekend for another pampering. Have a good weekend everyone.

sweetkitty · 12/03/2010 20:29

Evening all can I join the "feeling rough" bench, shove up everyone DD3 woke at 4am this morning, sang for a bit then cried for a bit, DP kept going to settle her but she was waking up every 15 mins or so and of course I couldn't get back to sleep with this one kicking me as well. We all got up for the day at 6am argh am so not used to it. Completely shattered all day today.

Getting some serious BHs now too.

hollyoaks - ouch that sounds like something I would do as well. Just make sure you keep taking the antib's and get soem antiseptic cream where you punctured it

angel - oh no hope you feel better soon as well, your FIL sounds nice too

pigley - sorry you are so run down as well, did you get your iron sorted out, I'm taking a spatone sachet every day now as well as a multivit, oh and calcium tablets, fish oil capsule, reflux tablet and painkillers, I must rattle when I walk.

LuckyC - sounds like a terrible month. At least you know now what's been making you ill. at your MIL though, you and DP chose the name you want.

ML - glad CTG went well

I am off now going to try and stay up for Lost then straight to bed

Gils · 12/03/2010 20:49

SK, I am with you with the BH. Last few weeks been getting them quite often. Tonight I have been in a lot of pain in lower tummy. I am knackered and generally feeling sorry for myself. Looking forward to DH coming home on Sunday night. So tired and sore running about after DD.

Going to Centre Parcs on Monday and I am gonna be a lazy madam when I am away. Think I'd be happy just to sleep the whole time.

Took unwell at work today, feeling hot during meeting then just felt like everything was closing in on me, just escaped outside.

Man its been a rubbish day, sorry for moaning and a very me post.

Don't even want to imagine how many posts there will be to catch up on when I get back.

Hope everyone has fab weekend and everyone is fine

Hollyoaks, glad the diy surgery helped you. Don't know if I would have guts

memorylapse · 12/03/2010 21:05

Hollyoaks..eeekkkk...owwwwwww and boak!..home surgery whatever next??!!..bet the relief was wonderful though..keep an eye on it in case it becomes infected again.

im knackered today too..got no0 energy..had my bump painted again today by another friend..piccy on the face book page...LO didnt stop moving..my friend kept scolding my bump and telling her to keep still!

pamelat · 12/03/2010 22:48

luckyc mil is clearly out of order and you seem to be handling it well. You're right to make you and your other half a priority before the arrival of baby

I feel I have coped better today. Still struggling with the practicalities though. DD is heavy (2 and a bit stone) and prone to running away in shops or throwing self on floor and having tantrum (today in a garden centre because I misunderstood and thought she had chosen strawberry plant, when in fact she had wanted the one next to it ). Madam. My back hurts and I feel I dont have the energy physically or emotionally to deal with the tantrums. I might just stay inside the house?!

However, she then slept for 2 hours at lunch and I had an hour and a half , all made life more bearable.

DH is taking DD swimming in the morning so may have a lie in and read a book for an hour

TomlinTowers · 12/03/2010 22:50

Hi All

Hollyoaks - ouch!!

ML - good news on the test results.

Must be something in the water today - DS1 woke up at 5.30am (usually a 7am boy!) so I was playing tombliboo drums at 5.50 today. Then had to work today as was helping with a big support group launch in Grimsby, so drove 90 miles to Grimsby practically asleep behind the wheel. Then went for lemonade with rest of group after launch, and suddenly felt so hot and sick I had to go for air. Was horrible experience! Then 90 miles back to York, to manic DS1 who had gone beyond tired, and had to try and get him to bed. Nightmare day, and of course, it is just when DH is away for the weekend - I swear DS1 saves it up for when I am on my own! Never mind, tomorrow is another day....and I am going to the seventh circle of Hell, also known as Ikea - why do we do it to ourselves??!!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 13/03/2010 11:11

Myfirstbump - I'm sure Aberdeen will be fine! I was going to take my maternity notes and get the phone numbers of the local(ish) hospitals just in case. I figure I'd be very unlucky for anything to happen. I'd go for pale green as well, it's lovely (biased).

LuckyC - sorry you're having such a horrible time The letter sounds like a great idea, I hope it works and you get some good couple time with your DH.

Hollyoaks - eww at home surgery but glad you're feeling better!

Angel - glad the police are taking your complaint about the dog seriously. Hopefully it won't be a kid next time.

Pamelat - know exactly what you mean about not having the energy to deal with tantrums.

Hope everyone feeling knackered has had a better night's sleep.

AnAngelWithin · 13/03/2010 11:16

hey all!!! does anyone need a bouncy chair thing??? I've just ordered a fab one from amazon thats half price at £25 but only til tomorrow, thought I would share link-a-do bouncer

memorylapse · 13/03/2010 12:02

Angel..that bouncy looks fab...Ive already got mine..never mind..bought it from toys r us a couple of weeks ago, its a winni the pooh one, was reduced down to £14.99

I have put the pro shots of my bump paint on the fb page..Im so chuffed..especially as I would never have bared my bump otherwise..the photographer and my painter friend have made a fat, grey haired. clapped out old pregnant women feel quite good about herself! (its amazing what you can do in photoshop!!)

pigleychez · 13/03/2010 14:56

Angel- Hope you feel better soon Good bargin on the bouncer.

SK- Yes I have liquid Iron. Its disgusting! Looks and tastes like rusty old engine oil!

Gills- Enjoy Center Parcs

ML- The bumps pics are Fab

Pamlet- With you on the tantrums. Thankfully DD has been good the past week (even with a stinking cold!) But if she does start when we are out it makes me cringe!

My cold has intensified over night, but thankfully DD gave us a extra hour in bed this morning. Still feel knackered though!

Have both sets of parents here tomorow plus, brothers, sisters and families. Think theres about 10 of us, plus the kiddies. Should be fun Just made cheese straws for the buffet and spent this morning tidying. Really not in the mood to entertain tomorow but hey!
Looking forward to my relaxing mothers day. Apparently DH said the present he DD ordered hasnt arrived so wont have anything to open tomorrow! never was much!

rachelfruitloop · 13/03/2010 16:26

Hello All,

I am sitting at work on my lunch break now and thought I'd pop in so I don't get too far behind on our thread!

LuckyC Erithromycin always makes me feel so sick whenever I've taken it when not pregnant, I can't imagine how you've coped with that!

MyFirstBump I've just finished our nursery and we went with pale green on one wall and beige on the others!

Hollyoaks Well done for taking matters into your own hands with the cyst! You are a brave woman!

Pigley and AnAngel I hope that you and your DDs are feeling better!

AnAngel glad to hear you got a response from the police about the dog attack, unsettling that someone else had complained the same day as well!

Littleowls I hope you're having a relaxing time!

Gils I hope you have a nice break at Centre Parcs! Will try not to write too much whilst you're away!

Memory so glad that your test results came back ok. Your bump painting is fantastic!

SK I can really relate to the early waking of the child outside the body and the ensuing kicking of the LO within keeping you awake! I've also been having some Braxton Hicks, definitely noticing them more in this pregnancy! I just about stayed awake for Lost last night, too. Have to say that I was hoping for more resolution at this point in the final series!

Pamelat I can really relate to your experience at the garden centre with your DD. I had a day like that with my DS yesterday. He is also very heavy so I feel quite helpless when on my own now as my bump is just too big to wrestle him!

Tomlin poor you, really sounds like yesterday was a nightmare! I hope the weekend isn't too trying with DH away!

Work is really doing my head in. I'm just part time, work weekends only in a ticket office, but 16.5 hours over the 2 days. It pays well, and the benefits are great, the hours suit me. I'll be starting ML on 9 May but have 2 weeks of annual leave starting 25 April leading into ML. It's just been announced by the well-known transport company that I work for that they will be eliminating 450 ticket office positions in the next year (mine being one of them!) and so now I have no idea what job I'm going to come back to. They will have to find a place for me, but it could be anything, anywhere, any shifts really. I hate not knowing what will happen. I feel really . I was a graphic designer for 12 years before I had DS, guess I could always try freelancing again, but who needs the stress in this financial climate and with 2 small children?! Le sigh.

On a happier note, DH and I looked at some prams and I think we agree on the Quinny Buzz. I also got a new lightweight dressing gown for my hospital bag, I'm getting closer to actually packing one!

I hope everyone enjoys Mother's Day tomorrow!

wibblela · 13/03/2010 16:38

Afternoon All Please excuse me if I miss out someone...

Hollyoaks - major cudos for the DIY surgery! You are braver than I!

Pigleychez - love your DD's character Hope all your colds go soon - not nice to have. Not envious of your busy day tomorrow - aren't Mother's Days meant to mean time off for Mums???

LuckyC - I am impressed you are being strong with your MIL and not giving in like I have done in the past. I am afraid my fuse is getting shorter these days and keep reminding myself that I need to be gracious. You are an inspiration though - well done

Angel - what a star your FIL is! Hope you are feeling better soon.

Gils - enjoy Center Parcs and relaxing

ML - Your bump pics are fantastic! Your friend did an awesome job and ALL the pics look good

Pamelat - Hope you got your lie-in this morning and much needed "Me-time"

TomlinTowers - oh you are brave for going to Ikea! Is it the one at Leeds you are going to? That's our local one and I've only known it to be quiet on Boxing Day!

Well I have decided that the Norovirus, Multiple Sclerosis and being heavily pregnant are not a good combination! Mind you any of them on their own would be bad enough! I'm so thankful that at the moment there is just DH and I to be concerned about - not sure how the rest of you manage with other DCs when you yourself are feeling ill... I feel like putting crime scene tape up at the front door which says "Quarantine" on it! Thankfully we are at the tailend of things now and are both feeling a bit better but it is not nice at all - I'm very glad that LO has not been affected She has been performing today and DH saw a kung-fu style movement happen

On a very happy note, my DSis had her baby this week - a little girl, 10lbs 5oz, via C-Section, on Thursday - they induced her on Sunday! Think niece didn't want to come out

Hope you all have good days tomorrow

pamelat · 13/03/2010 19:22

wibblela congrats on neice

My friend had a baby boy on Thursday, 7lbs 5. He arrived on his due date, thought that hardly ever happened!

I did get my lie in until 830am. I actually thought DD had slept in as I didnt hear a peep until 830am as DH had woken before her (bless him) snuck out of the room and got to her at first wakening and they had spent an hour or so downstairs quietly. Believe me quiet is unusual for mornings in this house!

I am going to post in another topic about my DD's behaviour as not sure whether it surpasses "ususal" toddler stroppiness/diffiultness or whether I am just rubbish at dealing with it. Have been around family all day and everyone has said how difficult she is or asked "what is wrong" with her . Bless her, I feel quite defensive. Its ok for me to moan about her but not anyone else . She is very highly strung though and no sure what to do about it.

Gils · 14/03/2010 09:18

Happy mothers day! Unfortunately no breakfast in bed/present for me. DH is away and was only home for 2 days last week and forgot to get anything. Don't mind but he will be making it up to me next week. DD gave me a lovely long lie till 8am this morning has followed it up with lovely diarrhea

DD did make a lovely card at nursery but keeps phoning DH to tell him its for him, bless, misses daddy.

Hope everyone has lovely week and will catch up with you next week

wibblela congras on niece, my DN also arrived on due date, very jealous I was 11 days late with mine!

AnAngelWithin · 14/03/2010 09:23

morning all!

Happy mothers day to you all! Hope you all have a lovely day!

I have woken up with a really sore throat and muffly ears But had some nice cards and some yummy chocoaltes. I told everyone I didn't want them to get me anything but apparently dd1 was so distraught, DH had to let her get something!

Pamelat hope you get some answers about your dd, if I find the thread I will have a look!

Wibblela, hope you are feeling better. Congrats to your DSis! 10lb 5oz!!

Rachelfruitloop, yay on the pram decision!

Pigley, hope your cold is better, let all the visitors rally round after you and you put your feet up!!!

Tomlin hope you survived ikea!

SK with you on the BH! I've never had them before funnily enough!

ML bump paint looks fab!!

Well I have packed a bag for the baby for hospital (still clutching at straws for homebirth but need a bag 'incase' anyway) Got some travel sample toiletries for me in a bag.

Midwife tomorrow. 30 weeks EEK! Hopefully I will get my nice midwife and I can talk to her about the homebirth.

Also...gasp...have booked myself in at the hairdressers for the morning. DH about fell on the floor!!! Its been over a year since I had my hair cut!!Just hoping the style I've picked isn't too drastic and looks daft! Thankfully the hairdresser is also one of the lovely mums at school, she sent me a message saying that she's allocated me plenty of time to pamper me!!

I had a delivery of sleepsuits yesterday I ordered from blooming marvellous with a 20% discount code. All the hungry caterpillar!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE the hungry caterpillar!!! They are the sweetest thing ever!!! Even MIL was cooing over them!!! lol

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 14/03/2010 10:01

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Hope everyone has a nice day and gets to relax.

pigleychez · 14/03/2010 11:21

Happy Mothers/Mummy to be Day everyone!!

DD bought me a cute mug that says I love my Mummy and it seems the present that didnt arrive is a Camera case... Ive had my new DSLR since last July and still havent got round to buying a case!
DH and DD have just returned from the shops with a huge bunch of 40 roses for me

Manic morning getting food ready for our get together. Still feeling full of cold and had to get DH to finish off some of the food as Ive been getting horrible pains in my lower back and underneath of my bump Think it just too much rushing around but it kills.
DH was up being sick last night too, so a nice healthy household here!!

AnAngelWithin · 14/03/2010 11:40

pigley SLOW DOWN WOMAN!!!!!

memorylapse · 14/03/2010 13:27

happy mothers day everyone

Im all my own today so have finished cleaning the house..DH works weekends so no pampering for me!..DD1 didnt send me a card
DS1 presented me with a pretty pot plant and a card then went out!
the younger DCs are at grannys for the weekend..but will be back later..going to go next door to hubbys garden centre in a min and treat myself to lunch..lol

anyone else been getting lots of braxton hix contractions?..Ive been having loads last couple of days..also Ive noticed an increase in CM..Im 33 weeks on tuesday and I think it was about this time with the last two that I noticed this..in fact with DS2 I lost some of my plug at 33 weeks...baby feels like shes going to burst out of my tummy!..when I lie on my side at night..she sticks her feet out and I can clearly feel a bony little foot shape..spooky

littleowls · 14/03/2010 19:16

Hope everyone had a lovely mothers day!

Just got back from DPs, it was my dad's birthday today too and he made us a lovely lunch. He likes to cook - or someone else would've done it instead!

ML - I haven't had any braxton hicks contractions yet. At least I don't think I have.

pigley - hope your family get together has gone well. It must be about time to put your feet up now?

angel - those sleepsuits sound brilliant. I love the very hungry caterpillar too, I'll have to have a look . Impressive hospital bag organisation!

wibblela - congratualtions on your niece.

rachel - That's annoying about your job. Hope that it turns out well in the end. It's frustrating not knowing though

Hope everyone else has had a good day and has been looked after x
