Welcome to the March Preggos. Here's hoping we see nearly 1000 posts before anyone pops!

Congratulations rebecca and well done! Glad everything went smoothly and quickly.

Love the name Annabel p&p, it's really pretty. Good to hear you're home and all is well. Looking forward to your birth story on Postnatal!

Quite like 'I'm a baby let me out of here' for the next thread title!

MandaHugNKiss · 19/02/2010 15:31

Obviously, I've been doing as I was told by arcadie and staying away...

...

...

Heh. Gotcha?

Just been really 'blah' and not in the mood to be social really (even as far as posting online which is really rubbish of me, I know).

But I see we're popping out babies in my absence! Hurrah and congrats to those snuggling their little ones right now. Where are these post-natal threads I see talk of?

Oh, I still have protein in my urine and slightly raised bp/swelling so they're 'keeping an eye'.

Gonna go before I start whining. I seem to be doing that a lot lately and fair amounts of crying. I think it's hormonal rather than anything more sinister.

swings - speaking as someone who had 'tate and lyles' at christmas, which have VERY gradually got better, all I can advise is: drink lots of water; eat dried figs etc; if you ever get blocked up (miss a day) take a Fybogel at night; as soon as you feel the need to go, then go straightaway (I think holding it in a bit doesn't help em); try not to stand too long or lift anything too heavy; nice baths. Just focus on them going once the weight of the baby isn't pressing on your rectum.

Bras - I bought mine on Thursday at 36 weeks. M+S gave me one size bigger than I need to allow for milk and possible breast pads. I've gone from a B/C to a G cup

I had a weird dream about passing my mucous plug. TMI alert (do not read if you are at all squeamish, you have been warned!!). I passed the plug and it looked like a little brain, about the size of a fist. I then cut it open (yep, weird). I know that the program on telly the previous night influenced this dream because it was about geniuses - they cut open a brain on the program. Now, if you read that and are regretting it, you have yourself to blame - I don't find anything squeamish!

That dream was not quite as weird as the one where I entered a 'Llama calming contest'.

Things move pretty fast round here!

Congratulations to puree - hope the SPD is now improving - and rebecca.

Here's hoping all is going well for Mumbot. Pacific, found the answer to "Can the baby disengage" - the answer is yes as Baby Dragon appears to have done just that!

Am now intrigued at Shroomer's llama calming contest - if you can have quality mad dreams like your plug one then that must have been really quite something.

Otherwise the same state as everyone else here. Tired, not sleeping well at night, having mega daytime naps when I can, waddling about trying to get everything done AND comply with the continuous instruction from well meaning DH/parents/in laws to get some rest!

Waves to all, doubtless see you on the next thread!

Hello everyone!

I haven't posted since Christmas - I promised to catch up then but haven't managed to (been v busy, and completely exhausted trying to do way too much). Hope I can be forgiven and welcomed back.

I have been trying to read up on all that's been happening for the part few months (a MAMMOTH task), and I am happy to say I am now on page 60 of this thread! Didn't want to rush ahead and see if anyone has had their babies yet but very curious. Can't wait to read on...

Promise to write more soon (this time I mean it!)

I've really missed you guys!

xoxo

Congratulations Rebecca!!

Drskid hope things are progressing or start to soon...

Thanks for the nursing bra advice everyone! Donttry what a good idea re the expanding nursing bra, I think I might order one of those too. Thanks for the link. Another question for everyone (sorry!!) ... I have found a nursing bra I really like but I'm a little confused about whether I should be getting one cup size larger - after your milk comes in do your breasts stay one cup size larger for long? I ask because I tried on a size larger than normal today to see just how big it would be and it seemed very very roomy, so much so that it wouldn't be worthwhile getting if the cup size increase was just temporary while milk came in. I hope that makes sense?!

Manda sorry to hear you are feeling blah. For what it's worth, I have been a hormonal mess the last few days too, fatigue really kicked in as well which isnt helping.

Congratulations, Rebecca!! How quick was that ?!

PandP, so glad you got there in the end. What an ordeal, I'd imagine... I love your DD name am crossing my legs v impressed by her weight .

Good luck, sarah!

And who knows what might v soon be happening at DrSkid's ??

Hello, all, I'll be back for more later - hopefully!

walnut trying to remember - and Ive fed 3! but I was huge the first couple weeks after milk came in, but settles down as your body learns to anticipate feeds (goes to check records) yep about 18/19 days with last two milk coming in every 2 hrs (as req) so pressure off in between feeds.
drskid hope something works out for you soon waters breaking must be one step closer anyway...
wave to everyone else - finding it hard to keep up too - if I miss 2 days I havn't got time to post a reply by time ive read it all.

oh forgot to say (so rude!) thanks very much to annamama and dalrymps for giving your experiences of back to back labours. MW today said I was only 1/5 engaged so there is a good chance I can still move him round...

sarah - any updates? I wonder if she's in labour yet...

shroomer - love your show dream!!! I have very wierd dreams too although never been in a llama calming competition...

pixie it sounds like your body is really gearing up ready - still can't believe you've made it so far!

caitni - forgot to ask - did nothing ever come of that show you had?

rebeccacad · 19/02/2010 21:34

Evening all - thanks for the good wishes.

We've had a lovely cuddly day today and she seems to be feeding.

Feel a bit knackered and sore, but feel I got off pretty lightly.

Have posted the birth story on the post-natal thread - it's not too scary in terms of writhing in agony but a bit of a crazy rollercoaster as it was so fast.

Will do my best to read back and check in with all of you soon. Can't wait to hear more from March thread babies - even if they do decide to show up in February!

Hi all,

Welcome back iwonka

Hope you are all having a restful friday night. My sis is coming up from London tomorrow and had hoped that small child would have appeared - just for her- this despite her being a doctor and knowing he's not DUE for another 2 WEEKS!! Shouldn't think it likely but given that we are likely to have 2 funerals late next week and DH has a job interview on Thursday it would be about as inconvenient as you could get - so you never know

Off to read in bed and enjoy the peace that is DH being nightshift - oh the joy of starfishing in a big bed!!!!

Oh, congratulations, sarah, how very very exciting! Phantastic name, too, BTW (both on our short list ).

Hope you and your son are doing well and having lots of cuddles

Gosh, I am hyperventilating with excitement - this is faaaaar more exciting then any Super G !!

Re feeding bras - I always went for stretchy that would 'cover' a couple of cup sizes rather than really huge, as things do settle down again after the initial boob-trying-to-take-over-the-world stage.
Can't remember where/who mine are from as I keep recycling the same ones [tight]...

Last day at work today and was almost reduced to tears when presented with chocolates and flowers by reception staff, sniff! I thought I'd have to produce a baby first before I'd be entitled to gifts .
Are you done as well now, BPM? I seem to remember we had the same finishing off date.

Busy weekend planned: pick up my DB from airport, friends coming to visit with their 3 boys which will give us a total of 6 boys under 10 in the house >
Hove to book DSs birthday party.
Make chocolate brownies
Usual firefighting to keep the mountain of laundry down
Oh, gah, I better go to bed when I think about it...

Take care everybody .

Congratulations sarah and Rebecca! I am very impressed with the speed of your births. I hope it's contagious! I can't believe how many babies there are suddenly, and there isn't even a full moon. Good luck DrSkid Pacific Enjoy the first weekend on maternity leave, although rest doesn't seem to be part of it. Oh well, plenty of time for that next week!

Walnut I think it varies. Mine stayed huge throughout 6 months of bf... I had bought one or two before my DD was born and was only able to use them the past few weeks. I also like the idea of expanding bras!

Manda, hang in there! Not long to go now.

According to my scan my little boy is nice and average. I know they aren't reliable, though I have mine done by the same dr. with the same machine each time, so it should be relatively reliable. At least it means that the ELCS is not being brought forward .
The bad news is that baby is back2back at the moment. Apparently I have to lie on my left side and let me belly hang over the edge of the sofa/bed. Sounds very uncomfortable, but any excuse to laze in front of the tv! .

I hope you all have a very good night without too many trips to the loo!!

Sarah and Rebecca big congrats on your speedy births . Also a bit of the speed! Am delighted for you both.

P&P so glad you're home with your brand new girl - I love the name Annabel by the way!

Well done to all our new mums and hope mumbot's doing well as well

DrSkid sorry that they couldn't be more conclusive re waters but I reckon you won't have long to wait now [caitni polishes her crystal ball of baby gazing]. Nothing much came of my little show on Sunday, other than my cervix feels quite soft and low now but discharge seems to have tailed off so definitely no more pinky mucous. But Braxton Hicks/tightenings have started since the acupuncture yesterday. So am hoping things are moving in the right direction!

Shroomer loving the show dream - sounds like the sort of one I'd have (loved the genius programme btw. Also not particularly squeamish!).

Scooby sorry to hear the nobby stiles are still bothering you...

Manda sorry to hear you're feeling a bit blah...tis perfectly natural at this point I think. Do feel free to come on and vent if you need to - no need to be "social" iykwim as we're here for all the bits, good and bad and blah! Hope the BP and ketones stay down too.

Scooby gosh, it would be most inconvenient for you if baby arrived this week!

Pacific hurrah for maternity leave! And so nice about the flowers & chocs...though what a busy weekend you have planned [tips imaginary cap at PD's amazing multi tasking ability!).

Donttry thanks for that link - sounds like a v good idea that bra. Need to find a place that will meausre me [hassle]. Although my maternity bras still fit fine (relatively roomy really) so am wondering if I can just go for the same bust size but go up a cup size...

And big waves to everyone else. Hope everyone's doing well, barring the usual aches and pains of late pregnancy...

All these babies arriving have been a bit of a reality check for me. So sat down this afternoon and wrote out a big list of things to do, divided by room etc [anal emoticon]. We've now started on the tasks, and already I'm feeling like this baby won't be born into a squalid flat to parents who procrastinate the most basic/random things! The simple reward of ticking things off a list is not to be underestimated

Most excitingly, the birth pool is filling as I type, so that it is actually ready for when I go into labour. I'm so glad my DH isn't phased by filters/heaters/random pipes as it looks like way more hassle than I'd be able for!

Right, off to check out the postnatal thread...
