I think CBeebies is especially designed with pregnancy and the newborn stage in mind, Rindercella!
Yes, lots and lots of luck for tomorrow, Mumbot. Are you excited? Scared? Both?
Impressed by all your cooking, Caitni. Keep thinking I should do the same but DH and I are about to eat the double portion of sausage casserole I made last night . I really am feeling very unprepared - and, like, DrS (was it?), weirdly disturbed by piles of laundry. I keep thinking, "No, no, no, I can't bring my new baby into a house with all this mess". Sadly, DS's penchant for paints, playdough and all things messy means that laundry is like painting the Forth Bridge in this house.
Spent the morning in the Day Assessment Unit. Baby is estimated to be about the 5 1/2 lbs mark and, more importantly, staying on her own growth curve. Liquor levels and placental blood flow both fine so the risk of an early induction for me has faded. Yay! That said, one of the midwives recommended that I try acupuncture or reflexology now as a way of priming my body for labour and, hopefully, reducing the risk of going overdue. Is anyone else trying this?
Oh, and in the cubicle opposite me at the DAU was a man (and his DP, obviously) who seemed to have taken tips on how to behave from Steve on that C4 birth programme. His DP was having a sweep to try and avert the need for a more interventionist induction. While I was busy feeling sorry for the poor woman having all this going on in a pretty public area, albeit behind cubicle curtains, of course, her DP was loudly declining to be with her while the sweep was done. "Urggh, why would I want to see that sort of video nasty?" he asked. And, then, while she was getting semi-undressed, blokey stands outside the cubicle and presses himself up against the curtain making ghost noises.
