Evening
Wow Rebecca!!! So exciting, i'm very , keep us updated when you can! Eeek!
DrSkid - I had a back to back labour with ds1, he was perfect position till the day before then turned
Anyway, it wasn't reeeeally long, on the contrary it was a very short intense labour.
I would say the back pain was pretty strong but what got me through was dh constantly just rubbing/massaging the bottom of my back quite firmly, he had to start using moisturiser as a lubricant after a few hours as he said he was making his hands shiny . I don't have a 'normal' labour to compare it to but it was bareable... I got through on gas and air and did ask for pethadine at one point but I think I was in the transition stage by then and the midwife said it was too late for that. After that point it wasn't so bad as I went on to the pushing stage and I felt like the pain was more purposeful and I could do somehthing with it iyswim.
I would say if your baby still is back to back when you go in to labour just see how you go, don't expect it to be really bad as you might cope reasonably well, everyone is different... Equally though you don't get any medals for being brave so ask for pain relief if you need it!
Have uploaded some bump pics for you all to nosy at, please ignore my stupid smile, it was the end of a looong day!
