Welcome to the March Preggos. Here's hoping we see nearly 1000 posts before anyone pops!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pingpong · 19/02/2010 08:45

well I have to say I'm NOT HAPPY about this queue jumping!!!!!
I'm 39+1 and second on the list after DrSkid please let me be next, pretty please.

No seriously how exciting for you scarysarah and I wonder if rebeccad is holding her baby right now?

siamese did your MW seriously say your waters won't break til you contract? My waters broke with DD and then I had really strong, close contractions immediately. Not even a BH before that just a few wee twinges in the evening before I went to bed.

Granny Mac due to arrive in a couple of hours so Baby Mac can come ANY time now that would be just fine......

Caitni · 19/02/2010 09:03

Wow Sarah great news - hope you had a good night...and you could be holding your little baby boy by now!! Good luck and looking forward to hearing good news

Rebecca hope all's going well for you

Smac looks like DrSkid is getting in on the labour action too - check out her thread in Childbirth. So hopefully you will be next

IWCAS at your dream - Pixie labouring outside in the snow had me !

Pingpong · 19/02/2010 09:10

Aha thanks Caitni I've just caught up with DrSkids thread.

Dalrymps · 19/02/2010 09:12

Morning

Wow, another water breaking! So exciting sarah

Ooh and DrSkid has a thread too... off to nosy at that...

rebecca hope you're doing ok x

Am wishing for a miracle that I go early although just a little early as we need to finish painting the hallway first

Pingpong · 19/02/2010 09:14

if babies keep popping out this fast we are going to need another ante-natal thread before the end of the day due to all the excited comments! We're at 930 messages already!

MummyElk · 19/02/2010 09:23

ooh how exciting, all these babies arriving/in the process of!! Is this how it's going to be now?!! quite exciting (if a bit unhealthy for my MN obsession/marriage/general multitasking)
It's funny, as I read Sarah's post I was thinking, that sounds like early labour to me..
Come on smac, do some ball bouncing!!

DD has been throwing up all night, so, perhaps not so much better . really sad because it means i'm missing our one NCT attempt at getting all the bambini together for their 2 year birthday, but still, can't risk passing anything on. You know those threads about Things I Never Thought I'd Do Before I Was A Parent, one more occurred to me - only a parent would cuddle their child straight after being sick?!! so weird. I can't say I wasn't slightly retching but how could i say no to poorly Elk.....

good luck belgian hope it goes well. am v dubious about growth scans but it's nice to see baby again!

am getting increasingly grumpy with DH. I know i mentioned it yesterday. He can't do anything right. not helped by his boys night out last night, i had to ask him to brush his teeth again in the middle of the night but pg means i can SMELL THINGS A MILE OFF and alcoholic curry breath was NOT condusive to a good night's sleep...

good luck labourers!! xx

Shroomer · 19/02/2010 10:08

Congrats rebeccacad and Sarah (and poss skid)! It's getting very wet in here. (Glad you mentioned about having a bath after waters have broken - I was hoping that this was allowed and was going to ask).

Saw doc yesterday about carpal tunnel thing, and I'll be getting splints for my wrists. That'll be weird.

Does anyone know if it's OK to take Gaviscon everyday for months? I think I've had 10ml in the evening most days for the last 3 months, and now I'm wondering if that's OK.

Went on hospital tour last night and, after seeing the birthing pools, have decided to try them. Guess I can't use my massage oil in those then...

Pingpong · 19/02/2010 10:16

I had a bath at the hospital after my waters had broken (with DD) at the suggestion of one of the MW as my contractions were very painful very quickly but I was only 1cm dilated . They suggested pouring a jug of water over bump with each contraction - well that was DH's job. So a bath at home is fine.
I think the only thing they say is not to have sex after waters have broken due to the risk of infection . . . .
Gavison is fine shroomer I have been glugging it back as and when required. I don't measure it, I just glug straight from the bottle. I find it really dries out my lips though so have to have a pot of vaseline nearby for immediate application. 10ml doesn't sound very much.

swingsofglory · 19/02/2010 10:51

OMG - it's baby central here already and we're miles off March yet (or it feels like it to me, still slightly in denial with about 4 weeks to go!).

Congrats to P&P & Mumbot

Look forward to hearing from Rebecca & Sarah

I'm suffering again with the old nobby stiles and am not allowed to use the steroid cream for the time-being. Ouch. I told the doctor I was worried about what giving birth was going to be like with piles in place and he said 'oh it'll probably be fine'. Thanks. Not v reassured, but not much I can do.

i'm feeling of everyone who's got their babies already - another friend of mine had hers yesterday too and double of all you first-timers on maternity leave who can have a nice rest. I want a rest!!

What's the name for the new thread then? My suggestions

March 2010: Babies R Us

OR

The babies are coming! The Babies are coming!

OR

Heading for the exit

Hopefully someone will come up with something better!

Shroomer · 19/02/2010 11:10

New thread titles:

I'm a baby, let me out of here.

I love gaviscon. I love chocolate. I also have high fundal height measurements. I'm sensing a link between the three.

Shroomer · 19/02/2010 11:11

Erm, only meant to say that the first sentence is a possible title, the second is very much about me!

hecklephone · 19/02/2010 11:19

Wow, I'm away from MN for half a day and everyone's waters start breaking! It's very exciting!!

Good luck everybody who's leaking/contracting/possibly even pushing??!

38 weeks today here but no sign of anything happening, which suits me ok just now. I'm fairly content to put my feet up for another week or 2 before it all kicks off! (uh-oh, have I just jinxed it??) Plus I just can't go into labour yet - I haven't packed the biscuits for my hospital bag yet!

shroomer I really hope it IS safe to have that much Gaviscon, cos I've probably had even more than that - I usually have to start glugging the stuff around mid-afternoon (about 10ml) then usually at least once more in the evening or just before bed. AFAIK there's no problem, and I'm pretty sure I did the same thing during my last PG with no ill effects.

Walnut8 · 19/02/2010 11:26

I've been back and forth between here and Childbirth and post-natal threads, trying to keep up! How exciting re waters breaking and not to mention congrats to P&P!!

Good luck with the scan Belgian.

Can someone please tell me if now is too early to buy nursing bras? (37 weeks tomorrow). My current maternity ones are really uncomfortable now and I have a chance to get out this afternoon to try them on, otherwise will have to wait until late next week. Have been told previously to wait until at least 38 weeks but is it likely that my boobs will grow much more over the next few weeks? Can't afford to keep getting more!

IWCAS I hope your nausea is doing better. I'm still getting some most mornings. Not helped by mention of "alcoholic curry breath" thanks Mummyelk

Baby feels like she is currently wedged in my hip ... guess still not engaged then.

Walnut8 · 19/02/2010 11:33

Oh and congrats to Mumbot!! Did EmLou have her c-section yesterday as well or have I got a bad case of pregnancy brain?

rebeccacad · 19/02/2010 12:26

siamesecatwoman · 19/02/2010 12:30

hugs to your little girl x

TakeLovingChances · 19/02/2010 12:38

Congrats to Rebecca!

and

best wishes to Sarah!

TLC waves to everyone else

Henrietta · 19/02/2010 13:16

Congrats to Mumbot, P&P & Rebeccacad - laughed at the handyman.
Pixie I too teared up at something really irrelevant on TV - Hubby shakes head in amusement - I never usually cry
swingsofglory like the HEading for the exit one...or how about...bottoms up heads down...I also am in denial mine not due till end of march and have been informed MW wont do sweep till due date...(?? had sweep a week early with last one but then was dilated & having contractions for a week...) seeing consultant next week and dreading appointment as maybe hell change my mind? about mode of labour.
DH didn't get home till late last night because of snow (at snow) DS1 playing me up terribly & I havnt got patience for it with huge bump & preggie tiredeness, so feeling like a rubbish mum. Still on funny side I finally got my paddling pool lady at argos counter gave me strange looks when the small one was out of stock and I got the bigger one which isn't supposed to be in till March... perhaps I can sleep now.

Dalrymps · 19/02/2010 13:50

Wow, congratulations rebecca! So pleased for you, that was quick! Welcome to your little bundle, make sure you rest now... Can't wait to see pics/hear full story

pureeandpearls · 19/02/2010 13:52

hi all, and thanks for the support. Now back home with Annabel who, despite being two weeks early, weighed 8lbs. Tired but well and slowly adjusting to two children....

congrats to mumbot and rebecca and good luck to others. I will post on Post-natal but not just yet!

Dalrymps · 19/02/2010 14:00

Great to hear you're home P+P . Thats a good weight for 2 weeks early, must have been the perfect time! Take care, hear from you when you're less tired x

walnut sorry!!! it was hideous, I couldn't bear being near him....
Great news puree and glad you back at home safe and sound with your beautiful little girl. Fantastic weight too!!
and equal congratulations to rebeccacad how exciting!! ooh at home birth, I hope it was everything you wanted it to be and that you are enjoying her, such a lovely special time

donttrythisathome · 19/02/2010 15:08

Congrats to Rebecca and P&P. Can't wait to hear about the homebirth. Good luck Sarah. Walnut Re nursing bras. I'm a firsttimer so can't talk from experience but I've bought a fabulously comfortable Carriwell seamless bra. They are expandable so you don't need to know your exact size after birth. I'm a 32GG (30E pre-preg) and finding bras that fit is hard. It's not the most glam but it's sooooo comfy, has support and sits low on the boob so you can wear lowcut tops.....result! It's not as good as wired non-nursing bras but then is anything??
I just ordered another one from here

DrSkidaddle · 19/02/2010 15:09

wow congrats rebecca!!! That was fast going! So pleased you got your homebirth and enjoy your little girl

And more congrats to P&P - great you are back home and can begin to enjoy your new baby - it took me a lot of adjustment going from 1-2 but even if it is a bit difficult now it will be fantastic (in 2 years maximum !

well don't know what is going on with me - MW said it was 'inconclusive' as to whether my hindwaters have gone (more on thread in childbirth) so I am back home and waiting to see what happens... my mum is here this weekend so it would be terrible convenient to go into labour today or tomorrow (if anyone up there is listening!)

mummyelk - [barf] at your DH's curry/lager breath - I think you were well withing your rights to make him brush his teeth in the middle of the night!

nursing bras - think they say to buy them at about 37 weeks. I got mine at Bravissimo and they gave me one a cup size too big to compensate for when my milk comes in....

Have we heard from mumbot or EmLou yet or are we just assuming they've had their babies? All so exciting....
