No bounty pack here ladies either, although I haven't actually read the whole thing through yet and wouldn't let dh as it showed my weight which he was rather put out about!

Still no word on scan date yet which is incredibly frustrating - don't think they understand the people who put everything in. Also don't understand why they don't consult with you about the date! So rude!

I look and feel mega fat now and really need some maternity cover up clothes as I refuse to say anything to anyone until after the scan, although I really am not sure I can hide it for much longer. Fortunately I do look like I have put on weight as i wasn't slim to start off with but it just means I am getting those ooh have you realised how fat you have got comments from my family!!! Annoying!

KayloHalo · 25/01/2010 11:45

MrsZaC It's a mum-to-be pack where you get samples of stuff like fairy tablets and sudocrem and stuff like that.

And a hell of a lot of rubbish leaflets.

And theres always a leaflet/catalogue for vertbaudet They are rubbish!! Gorgeous stuff but by the time you get it, you'd have to sell it on Ebay.
I used to work for them and they are consistently rubbish!!!!

Rant over - sorry

I liked Verbaudet but found the sizes came up very small!

I didn't bother with the antenatal bounty pack, but found the postnatal one with the mini sudocrem and milk teeth toothpaste was quite good - loads of rubbish leaflets though.

Have just spoken to the mw who is coming to see me on friday morning, and then i have my nuchal scan on the following friday. My little sister has DS but i know if we found out our baby had it i would terminate. Not sure how my mum would cope with that though. I know it is just theoretical, but there have been issues with my mum in the past and when i told her i was having a nuchal she got a bit excited about the fact i may have a baby with DS. Difficult

Chulita · 25/01/2010 11:56

I'm currently lusting over the most gorgeous pair of maternity pjs. I spent many an hour staring at them when pg with DD and never bought them cos they cost over £50 but I still lurve them, eek! I'm so tempted just to click 'buy' and sod the consequences! (bearing in mind I've just bought 2 sexy maternity bras for £50) Argh! I keep telling myself that DH will like them [hopeful]

vix206 · 25/01/2010 12:05

I bought a bump band yesterday and am enjoying wearing my jeans undone today as the band is keeping them up!

Doodleydoo · 25/01/2010 12:12

This time round I have decided against bargains and am more into buying quality that I want to wear. Last time I went mad and bought 7 for mankind maternity jeans on ebay which I only wore about twice as they really dug into my pelvis so sold them again then I bought a whole load of stuff in the sales and thought it was all great until i unpacked it all again recently and OMG what was i thinking?

Anyway I say go for it, have listed some of my stuff on ebay as I bought an IO top but in the wrong bloody size.................

Chulita · 25/01/2010 12:27

Hee hee! DH just texted to say to buy it, so I have. Feeling a bit guilty now though cos I'm not a big spender at all usually As DH said though, if I'd stopped fannying around last time and bought them, I'd have deffo got my money's worth wearing them this time round! I agree with you doodley, I made do with cobbled together cheapies last time and I was so bored of my 3 t-shirts and 2 pairs of jeans by the end. No shops near me though so I have to buy everything online which means expensive returns if they're the wrong size...
these btw are the shockingly expensive pjs

ElusiveMoose · 25/01/2010 12:28

Wow, Alice, that sounds really complicated. Just hope your nuchal scan gives you good news, so you won't have to enter that minefield.

Already slightly regretting my mat jeans, because I think they're a bit too big - really comfy, but I do have to keep hitching them up. Last time I got a combination of good stuff and rubbish. My one splash-out item was a pair of black trousers from Formes, which are still the most elegant pair of trousers I own . Can't wait until the weather's warm enough for me to wear them.

Chulita · 25/01/2010 12:32

I did regrettably splash out on a pair of black jersey trousers from Next but they're too short and I can't send them back because I dropped Philly on them while trying them on (don't ask) so that was a waste of money!

bouncingblueberries · 25/01/2010 12:45

Just checking in to let everyone know that my scan went well . Puts me 4 days ahead at 13+4 instead of 13+0.

All fine, but now I'm starving so off to make lunch. Will update with details later.

KayloHalo · 25/01/2010 12:47

Alice - I agree with Moose, fingers crossed that your Nuchal is fine, that way you don't have to face that particular situation.
Also, vertbaudet sizes are ridiculously small, we got told it's because they're french sizes , same with La Redoute as well (sister catalogue) deliverry times are so long because most of the stuff is in France and has to be shipped over.

Chulita - Those pj's are lush!! Sooo lovely

Doodley - I find ebay to be brill for maternity stuff anyway, although I have to say I'm liking actually going maternity shopping this time around. With dd and ds I had a pair of jeans and a skirt that I wore with normal t-shirts. How did I ever manage????

Blueberries great news about your scan!!! Really pleased for you!

Still no news from Bigmuther tho, hope everything is well!!

Blueberries, that's such great news! Now you can properly throw yourself into the second trimester.

Chulita, the PJs are gorgeous. You'll just have to make sure you have another DC after this one so you get your money's worth .

Not having a good day here. DS just threw up his entire lunch all over the floor (a lovely combination of egg mayo sandwiches and yoghurt). It was really disgusting cleaning it up, and I don't even have morning sickness.

mrsZaC · 25/01/2010 13:50

yey blueberries fantastico! congrats

chulita gorgeous pj's :D don't feel bad cuz if they make you happy they are worth it, there a lot worse things you could spend £50 on...

bouncingblueberries · 25/01/2010 13:59

chulita those are gorgeous PJ's! I must say, when I was pregnant I made do with a pair of old stretchy pj shorts that dh had never worn. God, I hated them! Finally "treated" myself to nice pj's just before ds was born to wear after I'd given birth - was the best money I ever spent. Looked them out at the weekend and they're still in really good condition, unlike all my other maternity clothes.

I'm with you doodley this time round, it's quality all the way! I hated the few maternity clothes I made do with last time and felt miserable about my body. So I've vowed that I'm not going to do that this time.

So relieved girls to have my scan over and done with. We were there for AGES, as baby was asleep to start with and the sonographer couldn't measure the nuchal fold properly. After a handful of grapes and a couple of jelly babies, we were in business though

Dibbydab · 25/01/2010 13:59

Great news blueberries.

Fingers crossed for Bigmuther

ElusiveMoose · 25/01/2010 14:13

Ok, will someone please come down to Kent and SLAP ME?! Less than 24 hours to wait until my scan, and what have I just done?? Used my last CB digital test to give myself a bit of reassurance. FFS!! I'm SO not a paranoid or superstitious person usually, but this waiting is driving me nuts. I mean, it's ridiculous. Every day I go through the same performance - I wake up in the morning and feel relatively slender, so become paranoid that something's gone wrong with the pregnancy, and then by the evening I feel so fat that I start becoming paranoid that I'm having twins. Every day! It's absurd!! Please tell me that it's not just me who's gone a little bit crazy??

For what it's worth, the CB test said pregnant 3+ weeks, which I know doesn't really mean all that much because they get less accurate as time goes on, but it still made me feel a bit better .

mrsZaC · 25/01/2010 14:23

hehe elusive I'm totally with you on the paranoid front... again I'm not usually a paranoid person Why do you think I'm going for a 9 wk private scan I'm pretty much convincenced (but hoping I'm not right) that they will scan on wednesday and there will be nothing but blubber! So funny what your saying about being thinner in the morning and fatter at night, I'm the same! I always thought I would love being pregnant but so far i've just found it extreamly frustraiting!

Heathcliffscathy · 25/01/2010 14:25

just to update..had nuchal scan today and it went really well.

NichyNoo · 25/01/2010 14:30

Hee hee Elusive...I was exactly the same! Just to warn you though - I had my scan last week and luckily all was well...however that means it is now 8 weeks until the next scan and I am starting to worry all over again whether the baby will still be OK at that stage. Grrr...will the worry never end!!!

ElusiveMoose · 25/01/2010 14:38

Great news, Sophable.

Thanks, NichyNoo and MrsZaC, so glad it's not just me!! Actually, from what I remember I did actually relax last time once the 12 week scan was ok - don't know why. I think I just became convinced that everything would be ok (and I finally knew that the stats were really on my side). Well, that was until my over-zealous MW picked up an irregular heartbeat on the Doppler - but that's a whole other story!!

Dibbydab · 25/01/2010 14:44

I think before MS, tirednes and cravings all the books should list "Ability to over analyse every twinge/secretion /lack of symptoms" as the main give away that you are pregnant!

Good news sophable any pics...

Dibbydab · 25/01/2010 14:48

So excited about sophable I posted twice! Is a twitching mouse finger a symptom of pregnancy?

Bewler · 25/01/2010 14:59

Hi everyone,

Got back from holiday yesterday and am slowly working my way through the posts. I just cannot believe how many people we have lost. I am so and really nervous about my scan on Friday. I thought mmcs were really rare but there have been so many on this thread. I was taking it for granted that I would be ok but I am beginning to think only the lucky ones get through. I should be about 12 weeks tomorrow and have my scan booked for Friday but I've had relatively few symptoms so I'm anxious and afraid. Its my first pregnancy so I am probably being a bit highly strung. Have my blood tests at the hospital in the morning and am wondering whether to go to the EPU first but DH really doesnt want me to as he doesn't want to miss the first scan. Anyway, not much I can do. My Mum keeps telling me to stay away from MN as its making me paranoid and nervous so I might be a bit quiet this week until I know how things are.

Congratulations to all those who have had positive news from their scans and fingers crossed for those who still have them to come. Anyone else who is totally terrified, I sympathise
