Kaylo sending you positive vibes and hope you're seeing your little one wriggling about on the screen as I type.

Congrats Girls - make sure you update the list, we need to get more good news on there

starshaker · 22/01/2010 15:44

Is everybody still having weird dreams?
Last night i dreamt i was breastfeeding dd who is 4 just to make sure my boobs worked. Was very strange.

Doodleydoo · 22/01/2010 16:28

Weird dreams and very hormonal! I just birst inot tears when listening to Space Oddity on the radio -

am about to call the hospital again and find out when the scan is.....lets see what happens shall we?

bigmuther65 · 22/01/2010 16:41

having horrible dreams at the moment last night had a dream that we went to visit my husbands ex wife, and when it was time to leave he told me that he and the kids were staying there, actually woke up and was angry at my husband as if to say how dare you,but in reality he hasn,t seen his ex wife for 15yrs
Also dreamt that Simon cowell fathered my child, maybe make that a nightmare.

neenz · 22/01/2010 16:48

I had a weird dream with Alex Reid in

Girls, that is great news! Hope Kaylo's went ok too...

I am pretty disappointed I haven't been able to pick up the hb with the doppler but I am only 10+5 so its very early yet. Will have another go tonight with DH and if still nothing will put it away for a week (well, I'll try ).

I am still feeling rough so hopefully all is well. Getting nervous about the scan though

Moose, that is so annoying about the car - it really annoys when such small things cost so much on newer cars. I am cynical but isn't it strange how it costs so much and only the VW garage can do it [grr]

Chulita · 22/01/2010 17:10

We were looking for a car in the summer and have a friend who's a mobile mechanic - he warned us to steer clear of VWs and Audis because they tend to need the respective garages and cost a fortune.
I've had some horrible dreams, proper waking up shaking ones didn't have them last time so I hope they don't last the whole pregnancy!
Good news girls

vix206 · 22/01/2010 17:13

neenz I found a few websites about using a doppler, have you seen them?

Stuff like..

  1. A full bladder often helps. It helps push the uterus forward to hear those small fetal heartbeats.
  1. Early in pregnancy it is good to start in the middle of the abdomen (in line with the belly button) but right above the pubic hair line. If you have already heard the baby's heartbeat at the doctor's office, this is always a good place to start looking.
  1. Move the doppler probe slowly - it is easy to scan over the heartbeat.
  1. Tilt the ultrasound probe downward toward the pubic bone.
  1. Be sure to use plently of Doppler ultrasound gel.
  1. It is normal at times to pick up the baby's heartbeat in more than one place. You may hear the same heartbeat a few inches apart - do not be alarmed, the Doppler is just intersecting the heart in a different location. Physicians listen for the difference in two heartbeats to determine if there are two fetuses.
  1. If you are carrying twins, it can be difficult to distinguish between heartbeats (even physicians have a hard time with this). It is best to count the heartbeats and find two different rates. You can count the beats for 15 seconds and multiply that number by 4 to figure the beats per minute.

Oh no, Liaghen . That is awful, and you still have symptoms? That is so so . Take care.

Thanks for the tips, Vix. I am proper shitting myself now tbh that I will not be one of the lucky ones on this thread

bigmuther65 · 22/01/2010 17:34

babyducky · 22/01/2010 17:37

so sorry liah

I'm shitting myself too neenz,
I think I'm going to book a private scan

kauters · 22/01/2010 17:38

hi, can i add my name to the list, due 1st Aug with my 1st!

soontobefatnat · 22/01/2010 18:23

Big hugs for liah. This is so sad.

Have my scan in a week's time and am now in a frenzy of worry. It's just been such a long wait to find out if everything is okay...

starshaker · 22/01/2010 18:32

I have my scan on tuesday and am utterly terrified. Have had way too many M/C and 1 more would destroy me completely. Have to admit i actually had no intention on ever getting pregnant again cos i didnt think i could deal with it if things went wrong but it happened and hopefully will have 2 babies at the end of this. The closer im getting to my scan the more convinced i am its gonna go wrong.
Feel so bad for the ladies that are going through this. Its heartbreaking

FloweryBoots · 22/01/2010 19:08

Sorry to hear about loses. And congrats to those with happy scan results.

I've not been on here for weeks. Seem to have got off pretty lightly with MS, but have been utterly exhasted by 8 or 8.30pm since Christmas. Have caught up on a few pages but can't read it all!

Finaly got a scan date, though it was a bit of a nightmare as the appointment I was sent was for when I was away for a weekend (didn't expect them to have weeked appointments) and the only alternatives they seemed to have were either before they were prepared to let me have the scan (honnestly, is 11+5 really too early?!) or too late (15 weeks!). Ended up with appointment for 1 feb but it's only 20 mins before my booking in appointment so I hope the scan is on time. Will be 13 weeks that day and really looking forward to being able to tell people. DH is adament no one except our parents can know until the scan, including all my many siblings, and my sister is pg too so there is endless talk of babies!

vix206 · 22/01/2010 19:22

Its really shocking, every book you read says misses miscarriages are very rare, and yet we have suffered so many on this thread I am also absolutely petrified. I never realised all I would do once I fell pregnant was worry and feel so insecure - I thought it would be the happiest time of my life.

I feel so sorry for everyone going through it

vix206 · 22/01/2010 19:22

Sorry typo in last post - misses miscarriages should read missed miscarriages

bouncingblueberries · 22/01/2010 19:54

liahgen I'm so, so sorry honey. I truly am. I've become so emotionally involved/attached with so many of you girls already - hope that doesn't sound too stalker-ish - just trying to say that I am honestly feeling so sad for liah and all the other lovely ladies we've lost so far.

Take care liahgen

Chulita · 22/01/2010 20:13

liaghen, I hope you get lots of love from your family, I'm so sorry about your LO

Doodleydoo · 22/01/2010 21:07

liaghen, I am so so sorry, I can't believe this has happened again, and knowing your job I really feel for you even more because I know you won't be able to avoid those pg women. I am so upset about all of these posts and have just discussed it with my dh who now wants me to have a private scan. In a way I don't want to have one as can keep the notion that there is nothing wrong, but then until I have a scan I am not going to know......catch bloody 22.

Liaghen, again so sorry I hope we hear good news from you in the future.

ElusiveMoose · 22/01/2010 21:16

Liahgen, I'm so, so, sorry . I truly don't know what to say. I can't believe how sad this thread has been.

No word yet from Kaylo - please god let everything be ok for her.

bouncingblueberries · 22/01/2010 21:30

Everything crossed for you Kaylo - anxiously waiting to hear some good news from you.

girlsyearapart · 23/01/2010 06:55

So sorry liaghen how awful for you.

kaylo where are you?

Rubena · 23/01/2010 08:44

Sorry Lia
Welcome to the newbie's
Congrats on the healthy scans
Star I have mine on Tues as well I feel a bit less stressed as due to the out of areahospital and mix up with m/w's and who does what etc, mix up, I had a 2nd midwife appointment on Thurs and they went through the booking. Asked them to get out the doppler again (different m/w) and although they were reluctant, they did and it was nice and strong again (11+5) I asked why they don't like to do it earlier and it was only as it isn't easy to hear it before 15 weeks and said it's different with everyone, and particularly hard if you are carrying extra weight which makes sense I guess. Got a 20 week scan letter through too which will be done at 19+6.
For anyone who has had a second C-Section, can you tell me, did they or will they schedule your section slightly earlier than the first was since generally the second baby comes a little earlier? Can you say when they scheduled it compared to the first or if it was the same time? (for electives of course)
