Thanks girls and vix for your reassurance - I love mumsnet!

Kaylo brilliant news! So happy to hear all went well and that lazybum is doing well!

girls have a fantastic time at Champneys you lucky duck. I'd love some pampering just now - eyebrows looking shockingly like a mono-brow so just had to go at them with the tweezers and the situation would not wait until I can book a waxing! As for my poor fingernails, they're so chewed and nibbled - eurgh. I hate not having nice nails.

Still terrified about tomorrow. But going to try and do lots of nice things today to take my mind off it. What will be will be.

Dibbydab · 24/01/2010 09:59

Fabulosa news Kaylo

I had my eyebrows threaded last weekend Blueberries- looks great, but big ouch! . Will be thinking of you tomorrow - what time is your appt?

Bigmuther Have you contacted anyone about the bleeding - can you go to the EPU for reassurance? x

popAwheelie · 24/01/2010 11:52

*sam86 great news about yr daughter's scan. Fingers crossed they continue to get smaller!

Babyducky any luck with the Doppler?. Am tempted to get one too.

I'm v excited as my mum who lives 24 hrs flight away has booked her tickets to come and stay for the whole of sept!

Bigmuther- hope yr ok and bleeding has stopped. Perhaps a trip to the epu would be a good idea. Be good to have some reassurance.

To those of you waiting for scan dates- we really had to chase and hassel to get mine. Called Gp, made sure refferal had gone thru, called hospital multiple times, and made my appt for 20 week scan when I was there for my 12 week one.

neenz · 24/01/2010 13:11

Bigmuther, if there is no pain that is a good sign. Are you going to try to get a scan?

Sophable, that's great news about the scan - how did you get one? I asked for one to rule out twins and cos I was anxious about a previous MMC but they said no!

But let's all be positive... blueberries, there is a 97% chance you will go tomorrow and everything will be fine. Only 3% of women get told at 12w scan that they have had a mc so a very very large majority get the all-clear. I will take those odds! It is only being on MN that has made you anxious - most people go for the scan not even knowing that it might not be OK.

littlemiss72 · 24/01/2010 13:13

Hi Girls, hope your all keeping well.

Good to here some nice positive news kaylo congrats!

Off to see mama mia on the big screen at the O2 arena later this afternoon, I shall sing my heart out!

Booking in appointment Wednesday next week so hoping the MW might try and listen for a heartbeat. Seems some do some don't guess I will just have to wait and see.

Take care all x

bouncingblueberries · 24/01/2010 13:22

Hope you're ok bigmuther and the bleeding has stopped - have you managed to speak to a GP or contact your local EPU?

Neenz you're so right - 97% chance of all being ok is pretty good. Going to stop torturing myself and enjoy an afternoon of baking with ds and dh.

As for threading dibbydab no thankyou! Had them threaded a couple of months ago and swore never again. Waxing and plucking I can deal with but I found threading so painful and it seemed to take forever. At least waxing is relatively quick!

Have a great time at Mamma Mia littlemiss - such a feel-good film!

My scan is tomorrow at 10.40am so I'll try and update you all early afternoon. Just had such a yummy lunch and feel so much more positive. Bagels with bacon and brie - yum! Don't panic though, the brie was pasturised

bigmuther65 · 24/01/2010 14:16

Hi just thought i would update you all going to the EPU in about a hour waiting for DH to come home, bleeding stopped last night, but getting some some very bad pain in my pubic area it,s not like a cramp pain almost feels like my insides are going to fall out,but very painful.
Was told originally to go tomorrow but because of the pain phoned them back and they have told me to come straight in.

ElusiveMoose · 24/01/2010 16:39

Just popping in quickly, as DH is trying to entertain a stroppy toddler while I tinker about on the internet.

Bigmuther, so sorry to hear about your pain and bleeding. Fingers (and everything else) crossed that everything is ok - do let us know when you can.

Sam86, sounds like really good news on your daughter's heart scan.

Kaylo - wonderful news on the scan. You must be so relieved .

I had a lovely day yesterday - went to my parents and they looked after DS while DH and I went up to London for theatre and dinner. Saw the Warhorse (thoroughly recommend it to anyone within reach of London, by the way, it was wonderful), and had a lovely meal. It managed to get me through the weekend without too much worrying, and now only have to wait until Tues morning until my scan. On my own at home all day with DS tomorrow, though, so plenty of time for fretting....

Doodleydoo · 24/01/2010 20:43

Hi all, hope all still well.
Felt really dreadful this afternoon and went to bed with my dd who was meant to sleep but just watched tv and kept giving me kisses (v sweet!) and shouting "lollypop now?".

Anyway for some reason I feel really down, lots going on with my extended family and feel like its all getting on top of me - expecting yet another sleepless night!

flexab23 · 24/01/2010 21:05

Evening ladies,
Had my scan at last on Friday and got a bit of a shock when they told me I was 15+4 and not the 11+6 I had thought!!

Baby very lively and strong heart but too old to do the nuchal test so having to wait a week for return of a diff blood test that can hopefully tell us the risks of DS...fingers crossed.

To everyone that has been worrying about their scan I was the same and didn't get a wink of sleep the night before convinced they were going to tell me I had made the whole thing up. BUT it was the most amazing experience ever and I feel so much more relaxed (apart from telling my boss tomorrow!) about the whole pregnancy now despite not getting the test results we'd hoped. Plus my 20 week scan is now a lot closer!!

Signing off the August thread and joining the July one so good luck to all the August ladies, may your pregnancies be stress free and happy!

babyducky · 24/01/2010 22:15

Evening all

Glad to hear your scans went well kaylo & Sophable

Hope everything went ok at the epu bigmuther
got my fingers crossed for u, x

Yeah we have heard the heartbeat, so pleased
But Im now thinking I cant only be 10 weeks, Im not skinny at all, I still have a jelly belly after ds!
We found it after a few minutes, surely it wouldnt be that easy if i was only 10 weeks!

The month before we found out i was pregnant I got a bfp then few days later when i done another test it was bfn then day after that I had a period, so doc just said it was prob a v early miscarriage or chemical pregnancy but now I'm not so sure!

Also I can definetly feel movement now, Im sure of it, so I'm really confused.

I dont know if I should go back to doctors & see if they can refer me for an early scan?

Good luck flexab23, i might be joining you over there, lol!

tah2 · 24/01/2010 23:14

Hiya ladies

Thats really good news babyduck , a heartbeat is always such a positive!

Congrats to all the ladies who hav had a sucessful scan - i have one tomorrow and am incredibly nervous and dont think i will sleep a wink all nite! My appointment tomorrow is with the epu because i completely lost all my pregnancy symptoms on thur which was exactly what happened when i miscarried in aug. There has been so much bad news on here i'm almost getting scared to post any thing incase next time i have to post bad news. Crazy i know!

Bigmuther , realy hope everything has gone well for you at the epu.

Good luck to all the ladies still awaiting their scan!

Heathcliffscathy · 25/01/2010 08:32

I went in to the walk in EPU at St Georges tooting.

It is for women that are frightened they are miscarrying...so bleeding or loss of symptoms, suspected ectopic etc. it is an amazing service if you have a scare...

KayloHalo · 25/01/2010 08:51

Good Morning

Sophable Glad your scan went well babe

Bugmuther Please let us know how the scan went - we're all so worried for you!! I really hope all is well.

Bluberries and Tah and everyone else having their scans today - best of luck!!! Will be thinking of you all.

FlexaB What a lovely surprise on your scan - so you'll have a July due date like me now eh? These August babies must be an impatient bunch

BabyDucky You must be so relieved to have found the heartbeat - still haven't heard our baby's yet, anxiously waiting tho

Doodley I hope you're feeling better honey

I'm sorry if I've missed anyone - typing from work.

Love to all xxxx

hey ladies, hope your all doing well.

had a relaxing internet-free weekend with my parents so just been catching up with everything.

So sorry about lia hope she's ok.

Hope your ok bigmuther sending positive vibes your way.

Congrats to all sucesfull scans and heartbeats! I've got my private scan on Wednesday and I can't wait, but really pooping my pants!

totally lost my appetite since I was ill on Thursday, not like me at all! so I think I'm just a late starter with MS. Not looking forward to today as my collegue is off and I have to do two 10 hr days on reception, think I'll be sleeping the last 2 hrs!

Good luck to all scans this morning

Rubena · 25/01/2010 09:26

Hey popawheelie my mum is 24 hrs away too (Aust) Glad she is coming over. I've had a bit of an issue this time around with mine. They are going thru a bit of (leading their own life type of thing with their priorities a bit warped at the moment) but thats a whole different thread! I think they are coming at some point.
Congrats on the dopplers/scans - mine is tomorrow but got to hear the heartbeat for a 2nd time last week at the m/w so feeling not as nervous!

Chulita · 25/01/2010 10:01

mrsZac - 10 hr days

vix206 · 25/01/2010 10:31

babyducky it only took us a few mins to find the heartbeat as well and I am due the day after you so am just 10 weeks. So glad you heard it though - its great isn't it?!

vix206 · 25/01/2010 10:44

PS such a tiny issue but... Am I the only one who didn't get given a bounty pack at my booking in appointment?

I was given a load of bumph, Emma's Diary, NHS Pregnancy Book, Breastfeeding Guide etc. but no Bounty Pack.

cakeywakey · 25/01/2010 10:45

Morning all, still no word from BigMuther, hope that all is ok.

Good luck to everyone with scans this week - am still waiting for my scan date and starting to consider booking in for a private one. Congrats to everyone who's heard a teeny tiny heartbeat too

I spent all of yesterday in either bed or the bathroom with horrendous V&D. Am just waiting for community midwife to give me a call to hopefully put my mind at rest. Not sure if it was food poisoning or a bug. Keeping fingers crossed that my little bean hasn't been affected by it. Feeling a bit better today, but not brilliant.

KayloHalo · 25/01/2010 11:06

Vix I didn't get mine at my booking in either - there was a voucher in the folder I got given (with all the bumf) and I had to take the voucher to Asda.

Not a lot in there tho tbh.

Am very at people who can hear the heartbeat. Dh won't let me buy a doppler ('waste of money when your mw can do it...') and I'm not seeing mw for another couple of weeks when my scan results come through.

Happy days tho eh?

OP posts:
Chulita · 25/01/2010 11:12

vix I didn't get mine either, I was highly vexed and I'll ask the mw to make sure I get one at the next visit!

Alicetheinvisible · 25/01/2010 11:14

Vix - in the rubbish Emma's Diary there should be a coupon to take to either Lloyds chemist, Boots or Asda i think where you get your bounty pack. You also get one in hospital after having the baby. HTH

mrsZaC · 25/01/2010 11:15

that's rubbish cake I had the same thing on Thursday, but put it down to a bug as there are a few V&D one day bugs going about. Thankfully even though I really really felt like it i wasn't sick, but think I might have felt better if I had been! Glad your feeling better today.

kaylo I'm not allowed a doppler either, and probably best as I would have it on all the time!

what is a bounty pack??? I just got some bumf about tests they will be doing and about hospital guidelines etc.

vix206 · 25/01/2010 11:27

Ah thanks Alice, I didn't see that but I'll have another look later.. for some reason I though you got it direct from the MW.
