dh, I had the same dizzy thing this morning while feeding DD. I was sitting down too and felt really 'off', had to go and lie down for a bit and incredibly, DD played by herself for about 45 mins!
We're finding out but we're not going to tell anyone we've found out because then they'll want to know names and then they'll criticize them...like last time.

i have my 20wk scan 3wks today, we are finding out too and not to fussed bout others knowing. chulita that really bugs me when people slag off your names, think the forget how hard it is to pick a name. I am goin to look at the site voilet suggested. dh21 and chulita are you ok now? My cons said this is common as bp rises and falls when going to sit or stand x

Hi everyone - I haven't been on the thread for weeks (if not months!) so just poking my head back in to say hello.

I'm nearly 18 weeks now - due date was moved 3 days forward to the 13th July. Am starting to feel movements after a couple of weeks of mistaking wind for little kicks!

Hope everyone is going along uneventfully - I'm off to read recent messages to see what's going on!

It is hard, I remember when I told the midwife what DD's name was for the first time and I thought 'oh my goodness, that's her name for her whole life' - sounds stupid but you don't want to cock it up!
I think I'm just having an off day - had a really bad dream last night on top of feeling dizzy off and on so I'm just a bit today!

WinterMadness · 08/02/2010 13:01

I was the same chulita. And even though you know you like it, it sounds weird doesn't it?!?!? Everytime I said my son's name for a while it felt a bit odd, like it didn't quite belong in a way. I thinkafter 9 months of not knowing what he would be called it took me a while to get used to him havnig a name (he didn't actually have a name until approximately 16 hours after he was born!)

Hi norky welcome back, we have a link for the new thread on page 39 as this ones about to run out. Hope your keeping well

chulita You have me curious now what is DD's name? I have felt the same for the past couple of days with bad dreams rotten side effect of pregnancy, hope your not worried about anything hun

winter I didnt have a boys name when pg with ds till I was 8 and a half months, thought I wouldnt need it as I was convinced it would be a girl. It took me ages to think of him as Jack but he so suits it now lol

For all the Glasgow Girls:

I have finally, after months of searching, found a store with a decent range of maternity clothes!!! New H&M on Argyle Street, next to Evans (Second floor, walk diagonally when you come off the escalator). I just bought a vest, a cool black crossover top, a cute shirt, couple of pairs of leggings and some pretty hipster knickers. It's the best selection I've come across yet...they even have a range of sizes! The baby section is really good too

Happy shopping!

stac14 · 08/02/2010 15:13

violet whats thier size range like? My sis works in there never even gave it a thought lol wonder if she gets a discountxx

They had the full range of sizes for just about every style - S,M,L,XL. The knickers are available in different hip sizes. They also have a range of pretty bras. . The section wasn't massive but there were at least 15 rails full of stuff - casual, dressy, professional. I know, I know, I'm gushing....but after months of searching in other shops and being constantly disappointed by the mumsy floral prints I'm sure you understand my excitement at finding clothes that look 'normal' .

Hee hee! DD's called Lucy, you'd have thought we'd chosen Chastity or somesuch ILs weren't too keen though for some reason. And the MW thing was more the fact that we were deciding a name which seems such a personal thing...

Hi ladies

Ive been to Primark with my friends today it was a really good day.

This stage between 12 and 20 weeks feels like a kind of limbo cos Im not really obv showing and at times hardly feel pregnant at all, does anyone else feel like this??

Report
WinterMadness · 08/02/2010 17:52

I've just been looking at that website violet linked earlier...it's really good. Although I still haven't found a boy's name!!!! Scrolling through the Gs I just came across 'Gaylord' Are they joking? Lol imagine a poor child called that - forever tortured at school!

Seriously though I can't find a name I like / one that goes with my son's This baby had better be a girl then at least I have a name for her

stac14 · 08/02/2010 18:12

dh21 I was feeling like that hun but lo seems to be moving more now, wont be long till your feeling the same, you know everything thing is fine hun

winter lol at Gaylord, makes me think of meet the fockers!! I hadnt even thought about making the name go with ds or step sons name dont think I will manage that as their names are totally different. Starting to think I should wait till after the scan then I only have to find a name for dd or ds

anyone else been trying the online predicter kits? xx

Sorry stac by 'go with' I meant 'doesn't sound silly with'. Ds's name ends in 'an' so I don't really want something like Rowan or Owen for example as it'd be too rhymey.

know what you mean, someone asked us if we liked lacey but its far too much like mine, which would make the house even more complicated as dp and stepson have the same name

Evening all.

Back from our wedding! Kids were really good all weekend, but I am soooo tired. Feel like it is going to take me all week to catch up on my sleep - which seems strange as DD and I were sharing a room, so at least I was in bed for 10pm every night!

DH21 yes I keep wondering if I actually am still pregnant or not! Really not much going on at the moment - although I guess that is better than being sick all the time like the early days

Kkfairybrains- Very is it hot out there now? Have a nice time!

Winter- Everyone gets the £190 health in pregnancy grant its not means tested. You need to get the form from the midwife and you can apply from 25 weeks. You can spend it on whatever you like, its obviously for healthy eating etc, but as I eat pretty healthily anyway, mine will go towards the pram! The £500 pregnancy grant is if you get more than the family element-so basically if you were entitled to free prescriptions etc before being pregnant, your likely to be eligble. Think its if you earn lower than 15k pa.

Stac- to be honest I have only just done the excercises today-so Ill let you know!

Got my 20wk scan in 15 days, I think Im going to find out the sex(if its in the right position) but I wont be telling anyone else and even though I havent started looking at names yet, I wont be telling anyone those either as like you say chulita people make insensitive comments, whereas if you don?t tell them till the babys here, they cant really say anything.

Working again tommorrow, but wishing I wasn?t as Im aching and shattered! Ah well, got to pay the gas bill lol

20 week scan a week today! This baby doesn't move half as much as ds did. I remember when I was going for the anomily scan I was feeling him kick all the time. He started at 17 weeks but I barely feel this one at all, maybe once or twice a day and it's soooo light. Ds used to really boot me! I should be grateful shouldn't I, give me another 10 weeks I'll probably wish I didn't feel the kicks so hard

Hi Everyone,
Its supposed to be my day off today but had to go in till 1 coz the boss came!! TUT
Went off to the new 'big' mothercare after and I was really dissapointed, the sign is bigger than the shop!! There were two rails of m2b clothes that I thought were over priced for what they were, was really looking forward to going there too. Oh well, of to Brum the weekend so looking forward to doing some shopping there, think Ill check out H&M for clothes and theres a big Mamas and Papas there and for a laugh might pop in to selfridges to look at what i cant afford!! Cant wait for my 20 wk scan, winter be sure to tell all, are u the first of us to go??
