stac14 · 07/02/2010 09:55

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/02/2010 10:05

Or maybe something to do with the fact we're all in the 2nd trimester now??

Cant think of anything funny or witty though

stac14 · 07/02/2010 10:20

could go with the halfway to july bumps? Or winging our way to july babies? Glowing towards july (not). Oh they are all crap lol

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 07/02/2010 10:45

aw bless you stac they are not crap!

I quite like ones that rhyme cos you remember then

WinterMadness · 07/02/2010 11:49

what about 'Due July 2010 babies, now we're halfway there ladies!'

Only thing I can think of that rhymes! Sorry, just re-read that and it's dreadful

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/02/2010 12:17

thats really good winter! Yes i vote for that one

Wonderstuff · 07/02/2010 13:10

So exciting that we're nearly halfway there! It has gone so quickly. Starting to get quite excited now, even started discussing names with DH this morning Second vote for Winter's title.

Firerise · 07/02/2010 13:20

Third vote for winters!

Cant believe we are nearly halfway! Is everyone else organized and already buying stuff? I have nothing and am totally overwhelmed by the choice for everything!!! Going to the baby show with my mum so maybe that will give me a clue and I can start getting my arse in gear!

I have however randomly bought a baby knitting magazine and have started making a knitted toy....may end in disaster and be given to the cats!!!

Firerise · 07/02/2010 13:28

Hey wonderstuff, are you and dh on the same wavelength with names? My dh has v peculiar taste in names! Lol

Fancy catching up some point soon? X

WinterMadness · 07/02/2010 13:38

yay, glad you like it Someone else'll have to do the honours though cos I haven't got a clue how to!

I asked dh what did he think of Miles this mornng. His answer was 'not a chance'. I'm taking that as a 'no' for now.

stac14 · 07/02/2010 13:54

hey ladies, i'l do the thread if you want with winters fab name.

firerise i have done bugger all regarding buying anything, said to dp need to get sorted so we were on some websites last night as you say too much choice

Dp and i have to try to think of new names, i have no clue at the moment, nightmare.

OP posts:
Chulita · 07/02/2010 16:42

I was about to say I hadn't bought anything but someone was selling an Isofix seat support thing for a Maxi-cosi cabriofix so we bought that because it was so cheap and the seatbelt one did my nut with DD. I'm going to wait til later for anything else simply because it'll just clog up the house and we don't have the space!
Is anyone else just shattered all the time? I find I wake up tired, I'm flagging around lunch, pick up for about an hour, flag again about 4 and then I'm done at 7pm. It's the sort of exhaustion that just makes you want to curl up in bed and cry - especially cos DH is having a rough time at work and that affects his moods at home so I have to look after DD the whole weekend as well as the whole week. I just need a tiny bit of energy...please?!

Wonderstuff · 07/02/2010 16:49

We should absolutly catch up firerise facebook me when you are free. I'm counting down to maternity leave, got half term completely booked up already, work doesn't half get in the way of your social life.

Dh generally agrees over boys names, girls names are a bit more of an issue, he is more traditional than me on those.

I have my sling out of storage, made me come over all gooy seeing it again.

DD currently sticking stickers to my fingers and surrounding me with soft toys, best give her some attention.

kapars · 07/02/2010 19:56

Oh gosh is that how much prams cost? My mum said she would buy mine but I doubt she knows how much they cost..
We haven't bought anything yet except I bought a little new born grow saying "i love my daddy" to give my DH but think I was more appreciative than him.
chulita I thought I had got over the tired stage as was feeling vey energetic last couple of weeks but have started to flag again. Had 11 hours sleep the other night! Though guess I best make the most of it as probably won't happen for another 18 years after baby comes!

GlastonburyGoddess · 07/02/2010 20:11

Kapars- pretty darn painful, I had my physio appointment on Thursday and I couldn?t fault her, she spent 50minutes examining me and talking about my pelvis and showing me pelvic stabilizing exercises. She was extremely helpful and has given me 2 big bits of tubigrip to wear (although I don?t think little one likes the pressure as he/she starts kicking and wiggling around, especially when im sat down wearing it!) and I will see her again in 4 weeks. Im taking cocodamol(over the counter) but am trying to hold out as long as possible before asking the dr to up the dose. Im hoping I don?t have to resort to crutches but there?s no way of knowing, the fear of how bad it could get in the next 22 weeks is what scares the hell out of me, especially with 2 children already to look after.
Good luck with you physio appt x

WinterMadness- Know what you mean about people raising their eyebrows at the 19month gap-there was 21 months between ds1 and ds2 so I got lots of those comments too. Now when other people say they are having a small age gap, I must admit I slightly inwardly cringe, thinking back to the utter madness of the first year of ds2?s life! It DOES get better after the first yr though and its different for everyone-it may be plain sailing bliss! Its always good to remember that your other LO is still a baby really-I remember feeling like he was quite grown up when ds2 arrived, but looking back at photos, I realize he was still very much a baby too.
Congrats on the buggy selection, its great when you?ve picked it, one less thing to think about. Still wanting to get my emmaljunga but think Im going to wait till I get my health in pg £190 to buy it!

DesperateHousewife21- Good luck for Thursday and remember to take it easy!

GlastonburyGoddess · 07/02/2010 20:17

ps anyone recently received there quarterly gas+lec bill, mine came in the week £428 eeek!

Also, is anyone from the wales area? going to caerphilly on saturday to pick up a few ebay purchases, was thinking of making a day of it, anyone know if theres anywhere worth going/seeing?

stac14 · 07/02/2010 21:21

Hey ladies I have made the new thread in preparation for us coming to the 1000 which by the look of it wont be long lol

heres the link www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/908965-39-Due-July-2010-babies-now-we-39-re-halfway?rnd=1265577 533077

if you put it on your favourites it will be there for when this one runs out It has the lovely name winter made up xx

OP posts:
Emster30 · 07/02/2010 21:52

Thanks for starting the new thread but I'm not nearly half way there - only 16 weeks today! I don't like being due towards the end of the month, it makes me feel a bit left out...

Just over the weekend I've started feeling little tiny kicks, I think - like little bubbles popping. It's very low down though, in my pubes - I would have expected to feel it higher? very exciting though!

We're going to look at a nursery tomorrow as it has an 18-month waiting list for an under 2s place - scary! We just want to put our names down and forget about it but we have to go and look at it first. We can always consider other options nearer the time anyway. But it is just across the road and it is OFSTED outstanding rated etc etc...

stac14 · 07/02/2010 22:02

emster i'm only 17wks and we're closer to halfway now hun. Great news bout the movement, makes it feel more real doesn't it? Its weird having to think about nursery so early to, i had ds's name down at this point too. Hope the nursery is lovely x

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 07/02/2010 23:43

cant believe we're goin on to a new thread already!
glastonbury really feel for you.that must be awful. hope u dont get so bad as to need crutches!
very jealous of every1 feeling movement! im nearly 20 weeks and not feeling anything as such.thought i did a week and a half ago but nothing since! went out last night for friends party and had 2 7 ups and i swear to god i had a hangover this morning! the whole fuzzy head and headache!whats that all about?! heading to malta tomorrow night really looking forward to it!xx

WinterMadness · 08/02/2010 08:26

Very jealous of your Malta trip kkfairybrains!

I did bear that in mind Emster about the title, I was just thinking that we'll have the thread for a few weeks and then everyone will be halfway. Let's face it, there's a good chance some of these babies will start popping in June (hopefully not mine though lol) so if you're early you may be nearer to halfway than you think

Off to pay my visa bill soon. Booooooo.

Glastonbury when do you get the £190? Does everyone get it or is it means tested? Can you spend it on anything? [rubs hands together in glee emoticon] If I'm entitled to it I'll put it towards my double buggy if I can!

violetbubbles · 08/02/2010 08:33

I can't believe I'm halfway there too - madness! Loving all of the ideas for a new thread title and happy with the one Stac finally chose.

We were discussing baby names last night. Girls names are easy - got a few we both like but boys names? OMG! So difficult. We've been using a website called Baby Name Wizard. It's really good - especially the Namipedia section.

I've been feeling little kicks too, in my lower abdomen

10 days and counting until my 20 week scan!!!!

stac14 · 08/02/2010 09:03

violet thanks for the website dp and i are struggling lo will be called baby at this rate lol. The name for the new thread is all down to winter kkfairy lucky you going to malta, you'll be there to relax and lo will start beating you up lol

winter everyone is entitled to the health in maternity grant as long as you go to your apps, think you get it about 25 weeks. Also if you get tax credits you can apply for a maternity grant which is £500

glastonbury do the exercises the physio gave you work? I have to make an appointment, i know my backs sore cos i jerked it but think its worse with the pelvic pain. How has yours been?

OP posts:
WinterMadness · 08/02/2010 09:59

Brilliant! Then I can put the money towards the world's most expensive buggy, excellent! My Mam has kindly offered me a little bit towards it too. As Tesco says 'every little helps!' Thanks for the info stac

So, 20 weeks scans are the next big thing. How many of you are going to find out what you're having? And if you do find out are you telling people or keeping it yourselves? We're not finding out but I hope it's a girl cos at least she'll have a name! Can't think of a single boys name I love Shame, as I adore ds's name so don't want to just 'settle' for something if you know what I mean. Thanks for the website violet that might help.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/02/2010 11:03

Ive been feeling little flutters low down too, it feels like he/she is rolling over rather than kicking but who knows!

I feel funny this morning, just sat down with breakfast and felt dizzy and light headed, ive read this can happen around this time as the uterus is expanding it can make you feel off balance, didnt expect to feel it whilst sitting down though!

My 20 week scan is on 2nd March so 3 weeks tomorrow which isnt long now! We're finding out what we're having, its our first and Im so extremely obsessed with everything to do with it so finding out the sex for me is just another one of those exciting things
Plus it'll be nice to refer to LO as he/she instead of it all the time lol.
