Sorry keeva
Thats shocking TSC
Wow theres quite a few of us having no.3,we must all be mad ha!
My brothers had acupucture[obviously not for morning sickness] but for excema and it really worked, hopefully it will work for you Page

WickedWitchSouthWest · 30/11/2009 14:34

wow at the mil's! secondcoming that's bloody insensitive of her, and gracie I really feel for you and your dh. I thought mine was bad...it's our wedding anniversary tmrw and mil is once again trying to drive a wedge between me & dh. She's queen you see, doesn't cook or clean at home, has her hair done every week and false nails every month and she is v unhappy at not being centre of dh's attention. It started when I was pg with dd and has got steadily worse. Came to a head this weekend when she told dh I had made her cry all week (er, what?) and I'm horrible for not noticing and comforting her She's 68 fgs, just grow up woman! That's the last fecking time we take them on holiday and pay for everything! Worse: we'd already invited them for Christmas. I'm not sure I can cope with the pressure...

Gosh sorry for the rant.

keeva I'm so sorry for your loss take care x I'll dig out the last stats list and we can do a little roll call.

page good luck with the acupuncture - at the axe, I hope not!

Going to put our tree up this weekend! Normally do it for our anniversary but I'm too grotty. Voice still hasn't come back...

Gracie123 · 30/11/2009 14:45

Wicked Maybe DH could suggest to her that if she's feeling a little sensitive and doesn't want to be around you at christmas he would understand her rejecting your invitation to spend the holidays with you.
Gets you out of it, but still makes it sound all about her, so she can't be too miffed? [hopeful emoticon] I know my DH wouldn't do it though [sigh]

rockinghertosleep · 30/11/2009 14:57

Hi all! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow with D?2. Have lurked for a wee while, but was too afraid of ectopic to officially join. Have had an early scan which confirms everything's in the right place though, so here I am

Am 32, in Glasgow, no official due date yet, but should be due around July 26th I think(though DD made an early arrival at 36+6, so we'll see how long this little bean stays in!)

Gracie123 · 30/11/2009 16:06

Congrats rocking heart. I have the early scan (not early enough IMHO) for the same reason. Been having massive cramps, but I don't care. I'm convinced this one is in the right spot.

Gracie123 · 30/11/2009 16:10

p.s. can anyone with previous DCs help me out with a problem with DS? Thread link

gracie With mine, 5yrs, I don't tolerate rudeness or nastiness when ill but I am much more tolerant of general wingyness or being miserable. When he's miz I just offer him more cuddles rather than telling him off for being surly. It usually turns him round. No problem with being very lax with food allowances when poorly like that, IMO, but limiting the offers to a couple of healthy things he likes but prob wouldn't choose when feeling rough, and one or two treats that may tempt him, would keep the rule in his head that he's not allowed carte blanche on food choices. Just my suggestions, given you ask.

Lovin the suggestion gracie! She's so bloody manipulative you just know it will all be back on me! She's already started on the "you're obviously having a boy" nonsense (she didn't speak to us for a week after dd was born coz she spent the whole pregnancy telling everyone she was having a grandson lol). I'll go check out your other thread after dd has hijacked my laptop...

secondcoming good plan! Let her sulk on her own. Might make her think differently...or not!

Right, dd driving me mental since I promised her cbeebies website if she ate all her tea

berberis · 30/11/2009 17:39

Hello everyone, I've been away for a week and lost you all until just found the new thread.

keeva really sorry to hear about your loss, take care x

TSC - cannot believe what a bitch your mil is, at Christmas too. Some people are unbelievable.

tish - congrats on the no smoking - I know how hard it is to give up so well done

Have missed coming on here (have been away with work) and got very tearful while away so it's good to be back talking to people who understand!

I took two 10-hour flights within three days for a work trip, couldn't tell anyone except the air hostesses, who were lovely, but most of food on plane was out of bounds and i kept getting upset that the jet-lag, tiredness etc was going to take its toll on my bean. Got back yesterday and have slept since then.

Then called GP as it's been a week since I saw her and she said the midwives would be in touch about a scan, which they hadn't (and haven't even had a midwife appt yet). I'm nearly 10 weeks and as am 36 really want a scan at 12 weeks or before. When got through to midwives they said I might have to wait until after Xmas as it was so busy (London, of course) which would be well after 13 weeks. Cue more tears. She then called back and said she'd booked me in for 23rd (which would be 13 weeks). Also, I'm up north seeing family for Xmas by then, which would have meant a really long drive there and back. In the end I called the hospital direct and said please please get me something for the week before. I think the woman at hosp could hear in my trembling voice that I was on the verge of tears and re-scheduled for 12 weeks. I suppose I could've gone privately but it's the principle...

Then I went upstairs to the attic bedroom and noticed the sweet pea seeds I'd sown last month have started to show little green shoots - they'll be in flower in July, when our babies are due, that only made me more tearful, but in a nice way. Oh dear. Sorry - very hormonal.

TishTosh21 · 30/11/2009 17:40

Evening all, thought id pop my head round the door to say im still trudging along in the early stages. will be 8 weeks on wed. Only 4 weeks to go! I am praying to god i can sail through the next 4 weeks with no problems and everything will be ok at the scan.

Felt a little light headed and dizzy this morning at work while on the phone to someone and then felt horrendously tired this afternoon i could barely keep my eyes open.

I think all pregnant women should get fully paid maternity leave from the day they find out they are pregnant

Gracie123 · 30/11/2009 18:30

Thanks Carrots , I guess it's not really rudeness, by tantruming I mean whinging and lying on the floor. I certainly wouldn't put up with him being nasty or hitting me or anything like that. It's just been wearing me down (along with the MS) for the last week. Feeling sick and dizzy is probably not helping my patience levels.

TBH my mom just pointed out that he was on glycerin for this cough when I took him to the states (in september) and it's never really been better, but it only got seriously bad in the last week (oddly, after he started taking the antibiotics...)

Think I better take him back to the GP tomorrow.

Chulita · 30/11/2009 19:10

wicked, not to rain on your parade but I was very healthy with DD, had a horrible pregnancy with ms and she's an awful sleeper! Doesn't always work...she's definitely not an easy baby
On the plus side she's been so difficult we'll be able to handle a lot with this next one!

bruhaha · 30/11/2009 19:41

hi - can i join???

i'm due July 15th - and feeling like a heiffer already! This is no.2 and i forgot about the morning sickness and terrible burps (not bum though) much to my hubbies relief!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 30/11/2009 19:43

gah, chulita but you're right, my dd was such a nightmare I'm not sure how it could be any worse fingers crossed we get an easy ride of it this time

berberis you poor thing! I struggled with an hour in the car last week so the thought of 2 10 hr flights...ergh. Get plenty of rest now.

I'm wondering about going to the dr about this cough/cold I've got. I've lost my voice completely and the coughing hurts. I just don't think they'll be able to to anything and I might pick up something worse in the waiting room! If my voice is back tmrw I'll see if I can speak to the mw.

skihorse · 30/11/2009 20:14

berberis We can hold hands - I'm getting my scan on the 23rd too. Great to read your post on the other thread today!

Hi all, I'm also having my scan on the 23rd. Just need to work out who can look after ds so that dh can come too, as our childminder isn't available that week.

randomama · 01/12/2009 00:10

Hi ladies,

Nothing much to report here but thought I'd give everyone a wave.

Just reading this and can't believe the MIL behaviour. It's obscene! I'm in shock. I used to have a slightly odd rel with my MIL - very intense - staying up exchanging intimacies til 5am some nights then blazing rows and guilt trips the next. But have to say since I had DS she's been brilliant. I get how it must be hard to be replaced as the most important woman in your son's life, but surely loving what he loves is a healthier and more beautiful way to express how much you love him, especially when the woman is your grandchild's mother.

Anyway, yes. Still really nauseous but only at night, still not been sick, still got insomnia like a bastard and forgot to ring up for my test results after last weeks protein/urine thing but feel ok...

hope all's well with everyone

high fives to the ex smokers xoxox

tobago04 · 01/12/2009 06:31

Morning all, sorry to hear so many of you are suffering,i'm sure i've got it all to come as i'm only 4-5 wks,
wwsw dd1 was an awful sleeper but dd2 slept all the way through from day one, infact she did'nt wake up for the first 24hrs it was such a shock that we rang the midwife and she said we were just really lucky! So you never know the next one might be a great sleeper
Think i'm going to tell my mum and dad today, bit worried as my mums not to good at the mo and don't want to make her worried, still i'm going to have to tell them some time

mumtoo3 · 01/12/2009 07:39

hi

we are due 31st july, so fingers crossed its this one is easier! but with 3 nightmare pregs under my belt i am not holding my breathe!!!!

Spirael · 01/12/2009 09:16

Morning all! A bit of a rough 48 hours here for me. I had some takeout on Sunday evening which I spent the whole of yesterday regretting, as apparently my body took an exception to it and decided it needed to empty my system. Never had a problem with the takeout place before, but I think I'll avoid it for now!

I don't feel so sick today, which is a relief, but I'm struggling to find any muscles that don't ache! I think some of the ones in my inner ear are ok, for now, maybe. The ones in my legs and back are particularly struggling, after I spent yesterday on my knees praying to the porcelain goddess. Anyone got any miracle cures they can share?

Sorry you're leaving us, Keeva. I hope things work out better in the future!

I hope everyone else is doing ok today. Good luck for everyone giving up smoking, and congratulations to everyone succeeding!!

Some of the the MIL stories are awful. I'm lucky that my MIL is lovely and very down to earth. She and my FIL are happy for DH and I, though everyone is curbing their enthusiasm for now because of my early MC last time around. I think once I've had a scan and (hopefully!) let people know that everything seems to be progressing well this time, then everyone will be singing from the hills.

givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 09:28

gracie I wasn't suggesting your DS was being rude - I was talking about my own adorable son who can certainly be so from time to time!

Hope all is well with everyone today.
