WickedWitchSouthWest · 01/12/2009 10:32

tobago, hope goes well with your mum fingers crossed for the perfect sleeper for me then please!!

welcome mumtoo3

secondcoming, I completely know what you mean. I'm so pleased dd is at playgroup every morning - I do an hour of housework then die for an hour before collecting her. After lunch I put the laptop on and she plays for an hour while I have a snooze to get enough energy together to take her out! I HAVE to go out today since I forgot to get her an advent calendar (bad mummy) and it's our wedding anniversary and I haven't got him a card Can I have my brain back please? Oh and my voice since that's still awol.

spirael oh you poor thing feet up and do nothing today.

berberis, my scan is next Monday

Hi all, just been back from docs and now am hydrated and have no ketones, I still feel like death warmed up. Apparently a diet of coke and digestives is fine. Back in on Thurs for blood results, no idea what they are looking for. Just can't function atm. Really bored and sick and tired and yuck yuck yuck. Keep crying all the time. Feeling very sorry for myself.

Spirael · 01/12/2009 11:04

Haa... I wish WWSW! I'm back at work today, I couldn't really justify another day off for just feeling achy. Especially since my boss has broken his arm (he came in too!) and another colleague is off ill a lot with migraines. I'm already pencilled in to work Saturday too, in order to try and keep things under control! Though at least Saturday is overtime at x1.5 pay. Money is good.

I'm debating wandering into Lush at lunchtime to see if they have anything pregancy safe that I could use in a bath later. Baths are ok as long as they're no hotter than 38C, is that right? I might pick up a bath thermometer too, in order to make sure I don't accidentally boil the bean. I haven't had a bath for yeaaars... But since I'm avoiding meds, I figure it might help my poor muscles.

I have my first scan on the 17th, Berberis. I'll only be 9 weeks though, it's an early scan I'm paying for privately. I want to make sure everything is ok and get some nice pics so I can let my extended family know over Christmas. No idea when my first NHS scan will be, according to my MW I should receive a letter about it at some point. (Hopefully before I give birth, but we'll see...)

Ooh, I've only just realised it's 1st December! I'm glad you reminded me about advent calendars, WWSW. I get to have the first of my mildly-alcoholic-but-not-problematically-so truffles tonight. That's something to look forward to.

Belgrano · 01/12/2009 11:38

Hello summer mums! Saw your thread title and just came on to say hello. I had my DS this year in July and have been thinking lately about quite how hideous I felt this time last year. I really was pukey tum girl for weeks and weeks and ended up signed off work with hyperemesis, so am thinking of you lot and hope you get better soon. It's truly horrid but of course sooooo worth it! July is a lovely time to have a baba.
Good luck all of you!

GibbonInARibbon · 01/12/2009 11:38

So sorry Keeva

skihorse · 01/12/2009 11:41

Spirael I think a slightly-too-hot bath would be OK unless you're spreading your legs, parting your cervix and shooting hot jets up there! Have you ever in the past when having a hot bath thought the inside of your vagina was on fire?

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 11:59

Nice message belgrano

@ ski

Spirael · 01/12/2009 12:31

LOL, I admit I'm rather unskilled at taking baths, it's inevitably showers for me. However I wasn't planning on doing as you suggest, Skihorse. Honestly can't comment on the burning of my insides... I can't remember when I last had a bath! I might have been a child at the time.

I'm mostly just wary after the big encyclopedia folder the MW gave me spends several pages talking about the evils of hot tubs and saunas. A few other MN topics seem to think that if it's a comfortable temperature for you to get into the water and not boil turn red, then it should be ok.

kinnies · 01/12/2009 12:41

Thanks ski! I just read spirals post and wondered why I'd never heard of the bath temp thing before . I would really like that to be quote of the week! lol

tscoming I'm just the same with my almost 2yr old (2 end of jan)
Shes a little monkey with cunningnes that mi6 would be proud of! So far today shes - stolen ds's hair gel and now her and the dog have stiff hair, found a lip gloss and put it on (lips, eyes and toe nails) did a 'secret' poo and put some in dogs water!
These are the things I know about but there could be more stuff.
So I too am counting down the hours till bed time

Champagneforlunch · 01/12/2009 14:24

Haven't posted for while although have tried to keep up.
Had early scan this morning spot was a bit smaller than expected but I'm not too sure about dates as things had not returned to normal afetr Dd2. There was a little heartbeat pulsing away nicely though. Also managed to book another scan for a couple of weeks time which would have been around the same time I miscarried.
Still hardly any symptoms so up until this morning it wasn't feeling very real.
Better go again, looks like there is another dirty nappy to clean.

Gracie123 · 01/12/2009 16:08

Sorry to gloat but...

...I'm feeling great today!! Poor DS is still very sick (GP has taken some samples and hope to have results soon) but consequently is sleeping about 18 hours a day. I've decided to stop worrying and nap too. Feel loads better.

I'm convinced MS is a symptom of 'overtired'. (sorry working mamas )

Also had time this avo to make these which you should all definitely try if you have a few hours to spare. Pure heaven.

Hope you all feel better soon.

GibbonInARibbon · 01/12/2009 16:23

gracie - funnily enough was saying only yesterday MS worse when tired.

I had a good few days and feel like shit on a stick again today.

I miss food, by that I mean enjoying food.

Feel bad moaning but am wandering around the house muttering under my breath 'cunting fucking morning sickness'

I'm such a lady

Gracie123 · 01/12/2009 16:26

sorry gibbon. Can you take an hour off for a nap?

violetbubbles · 01/12/2009 16:36

I totally feel your pain Gibbon! I'm off to the in-laws for dinner tonight. Totally stressed out about food before I even get there. We're not telling them until after my 12 week scan on 23rd so I'll probably just come across as a moany, ungrateful spoilt little cow!

OMG, I'm so, so, tired!!!

bigbadwritersblock · 01/12/2009 16:49

well thank god for you lot, I'm due on 3rd July and haven't been able to stop eating, I'm hungry all the time and have put on 1/2 a stone already! my best friend is pregnant at same time and whilst that is fab in lots of ways she takes great pride in telling me she has put on no weight at all and is still in her skinny jeans, she is not touching caffeine and is being really strict about everything. I think I'm being quite good as was on about 8 cups of tea and 2 bottles of diet coke a day before pg!

Thank you thank you thank you I was panicking I was going to be an abnormal bloater! well thank god for you lot, I'm due on 3rd July and haven't been able to stop eating, I'm hungry all the time and have put on 1/2 a stone already! my best friend is pregnant at same time and whilst that is fab in lots of ways she takes great pride in telling me she has put on no weight at all and is still in her skinny jeans, she is not touching caffeine and is being really strict about everything. ooh twice... not sure why that happened.

not sure if you girls have said already but where have you been getting maternity stuff from as everything I can find is not good at all!

sevans · 01/12/2009 17:24

My scan today confirmed my fears. I am indeed going through a miscarriage. I took myself off the list. It was nice getting to know you all and I wish you all healthy and happy pregnancies!
