I too am eating like a student - the shame of it!

gracie glad you seem to be getting sorted at last

No vivid dreams for me...don't think I'm getting to that deep sleep stage Sooooo tired and getting up at 6am with ds everyday doesn't help.

With the whole gender thing...I would like a girl but my gut tells me I'll have another boy. Everyone told me I was definitely carrying a girl with ds (funny how everyone's an expert isn't it?!?) but he is def a boy's boy, lol. Will be just as lovely to watch two boys grow up together though Long as s/he's happy and healthy who cares!

OOh I am having a little glass of wine - seems perverse when I have had to fend off the drinks all week and make up excuses not to drink to have a glass at home, but I am having my one unit of the week and wanted it to be perfect - am sitting by the Christmas tree and a roaring fire with a (very small) glass of delicious red, and it is oh so good!

I reckon I'm having a boy. Don't know why. I'd like a boy, all my friends seem to have had girls.

TishTosh21 · 20/12/2009 18:31

oh christ im so fat atm and only 10+4. I dont think i could handle twins being a first timer, hopefully its just bloating!

BTW everyone...4 weeks without a cigarette today!

CurlyCasper · 20/12/2009 18:40

good news gracie and well done tish

At OH's works do last night a male colleague of his commented after the meal that he didn't think I'd be showing that much already. I had to explain that it was mostly turkey and chocolate mousse bulging out my dress!

TishTosh21 · 20/12/2009 18:44

Is it poss though to show at around 10-11 weeks without it being food/water retention??

yes it is my first. When I get out of bed in the morning though you can see a bit of a bump side on but i dont know if its just weight gain i havent gained weight anywhere else. Whaddya reckon??

Emster30 · 20/12/2009 18:59

I think it is possible to show a bit by 10-11 weeks!

I feel like I am showing (10 weeks today) but I think it's just fat. I'm trying to tell myself I would have put on weight anyway with 6 weeks off the gym and eating Christmas meals and nibbles etc. Must get back to the gym in the new year - I felt too sick for a while and my membership expired anyway. Now I feel really unfit and breathless but I guess the gym would be good.

gracie fab news about being seen and the scan, hope ou managed to keep the water down. Wow about the twins though, I'm glad to know I'm only having one. Had quite bad post natal depression with ds so not sure how I would cope with 2 or maybe I would become supermum lol

Dp is convinced I am having a girl this time but think thats cos we have a boy each. I am sure its a boy again but with ds I was certain it was a girl so I will want to find out at my 20 week scan

tsc it is amazing the changes in your body so early on, my boobs feel huge.

I'm not showing yet 10+1 but I am overweight anyway so it could be that

tish well done on the no smoking, I luckily gave up last year at new year and only smoked when I drank so since I cant do that either I havent bothered lol

emster mmm bout red wine, could have killed for a drink last night lol

Hope everyone is well xx
How is everyone else today?

TishTosh21 · 20/12/2009 19:52

ahh i see so it is just fat! Well im 12 weeks in 10 days so maybe ill be showing a little by then.

WinterMadness · 20/12/2009 20:03

I'm 12 weeks and beginning to show. But I didn't show this early with ds (who is only one - body hasn't exactly got back into tiptop shape in the last year!) They do say you tend to show earlier with your second, and feel baby kick sooner, often have a bigger or different shape bump and have a quicker labour. Here's hoping for the last one anyway!

Tish well done!!! That's great

Gracie hope you're feeling ok and managed to avoid the drip

TishTosh21 · 20/12/2009 20:23

Ill wait another week or so then report back as to how big i am.

Thanks winter and everyone else who has congragulated me on my giving up smoking, it wasnt actually as hard as i imagined it would be. Just keep thinking the baby is benefitting so much from me quitting.

stac14 · 20/12/2009 20:24

wintermadness i hope thats true about the labour lol, my hairdresser said its because the first one paves the way for the 2nd so to speak

tish your not fat, according to the baby website I am on it says you may be starting to show at 10 weeks, as your uterous is the size of a grapefrut, check out baby centre it gaves you a week by week account. I just meant I am just fat as I was before I fell pg which would explain me not showing yet

TishTosh21 · 20/12/2009 20:33

thanks stac ill check it out, its always encouraging to be told your not fat

WinterMadness · 20/12/2009 21:06

That's what they said to me in hospital Stac DS got stuck but with the aid of ventouse got out eventually. Because he came the 'normal route' so to speak they said my pelvis has done all the hard work and 'the next one will pop out'

Just what you want to hear when you feel like your insides are going to drop out of your stitches, lol

stac14 · 20/12/2009 21:47

your not kidding winter lol but I hope its true that is quicker, still doubt it will pop out though

tish did you have a look?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 21/12/2009 00:21

eek about labour being faster! my mw has told me that if it's a weekday rush hour just to call an ambulance and get blue lighted in - hosp in central Bristol and we're 20 mins away in no traffic, anything up to an hour at busy times Have already briefed dh on learning how to deliver a baby! Dd was 2 hrs 45 (and that's coz I had a panic attack and managed to stop things til the mw yelled at me!) so I dread to think with this one. Mind you, if it's a boy it could actually go slower couldn't it? They're lazy buggers to birth so I'm told

stac I have a wicked bump coming along. I've lost 8/9lb in the first trimester and I can't suck it in so it's deffo sproglet getting comfy

Anyway, SNOW! we never get proper snow here (too close to coast) and tbh it looks a bit sloppy out there but still. Actually went and woke dd up to show her she was crying earlier coz she wanted snow so much (bless) so I had to show her that her wishes came true. Ta da, happy small person fast asleep dreaming of making snow angels!

violetbubbles · 21/12/2009 06:33

I'm 12 weeks today - woo! Got my scan this evening - so, so nervous - wish me luck! Hope it doesn't get cancelled because of the snow in Glasgow. Will keep you posted!

Oh, and where's this 'glow' that I've been promised? I still feel ill and I'm covered in spots! .

Spirael · 21/12/2009 08:59

Morning all! I hope things are going well for everyone today.

Not too much happening here, really... Saw my parents this weekend and spent most of the time asleep on their sofa. Oh well... At least the MS held off for most of the weekend, I'm hoping it'll do the same over Christmas. I'm coming up on 10 weeks during this week, so I'm naively thinking that maybe it's easing off now!

My dreams actually seem to be less vivid than normal at the moment, strangely enough. My imagination usually lives in overdrive and I'm used to having weird dreams, but currently they're positively mild. I think I might be missing out!! I certainly haven't had any...mm...adult dreams.

I'm pretty sure I have no bump yet. My waistline has definitely expanded, but I think it's all just fat and bloating, given the horrendous diet I've been following lately. I'm starting to get things back under control now though, which is a relief! Though I get the feeling it'll go pear shaped over Christmas again.

TishTosh21 · 21/12/2009 17:48

stac yeah I did have a look, realised ive been on that website before! its nice to have a week by week view on how things are progressing

Still really worried about my 12 week scan on 5th Jan. DP keeps telling me it'll be fine and im worrying over nothing but I just feel im going to get there and they will give me bad news or something someone please tell me im being ridiculous. I still have no symptoms either.

WinterMadness · 21/12/2009 19:25

Tish you're being ridiculous

I should know...I was exactly the same with ds. Would have been exactly the same with this lo if it had been for the bleeds/early scans. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

I've got a private scan tomorrow with genetic testing. Unfortunately I couldn't send my bloods off beforehand so will have to get them done there tomorrow and wait for the results. Not ideal but couldn't be helped!

It's been ever so quiet on here today - hope everyone's ok x

Irishfairy · 21/12/2009 19:51

I'm 12+1 today and supposed to have my scan at 8.40 tomorrow morning. The hospital is in Reading about 20 mins away normally. Unfortunately we've been completely snowed in today... been snowing since 12.30 and still going strong. Took DH 3 hours to make 15 minute journey, we've had to abandon car in middle of town and walk home. So it doesn't look good for the morning even the trains are delayed or cancelled. On Wednesday morning we're supposed to be heading to Ireland until after New Year so won't be able to reschedule until we're back. Know it's not the worse thing that could happen but feeling quite glum... haven't had a scan yet, had a private one booked a few weeks ago and that got cancelled last minute. Was looking forward to telling everyone with confidence over the holidays... oh well...

How's everyone else doing? On the up side the snow looks lovely and festive

violetbubbles · 21/12/2009 20:30

Hey everyone - just back from my 12 week scan. It was amazing! Saw our little one bouncing around like he/she was dancing . Also heard a really strong heartbeat and Consultant says everything looks really good for this stage in the pregnancy. I'll upload a pic tomorrow; DH is scanning them in just now.

So sorry to hear that you're snowed in and won't be able to make it to your scan tomorrow Irishfairy. . Hopefully it'll clear up enough for you to make your trip to Ireland.

Hope everyone else is well! xx
