Off to make shortbread to sell at playgroup tomorrow then need some shopping so busy busy today.

Hope everyone has a good afternoon!

tobago04 · 09/12/2009 13:33

Glad your scan went ok tsc, think i'd like a homebirth this time but like you i've had strep b,do you know if you can have the antibiotics at home? Either that or i will have it in hospital and have every drug going
It is hard chulita,it's not quite the same as first time round is it? Luckily dd1 is at school and dd2 is quite good at entertaining herself

GibbonInARibbon · 09/12/2009 13:35

DD has started on the "I want a sister" she even said to me today "mummy, if a brother comes out can it go back and you turn it into a sister?". Um... help!

lol gibbon I've got another cheeky one I think

chulita I'm lucky as dd is at playgroup 5 mornings a week (at her request I have to add) so I only have to survive the afternoons. From 4pm is the worst though, I'm so tired and then have to try and feed her a nutritious meal (do potato waffles count?!) and do the bedtime routine so that dh can wander in and read her a story. Knackered.

TSC I have a princess here too...worrying isn't it?!

Aww second poor you and poor your lass. Is she ok about it now?

CurlyCasper · 09/12/2009 14:11

wicked your picture is amazing - hands and feet are so clear! well done (did not think you were being a twat!

TSC congrats on the good scan - excellent news! Hope your DD has come round

WickedWitchSouthWest · 09/12/2009 14:42

oh TSC has she calmed down now? What a nightmare. We're not finding out the sex either, what will be will be. I'd rather introduce dd to a new tiny cute baby than tell her months in advance and let her get worked up about it being a brother or a sister.

thanks curly I'm pysching up to tell people more now, odd isn't it, now I can tell people I've gone all coy

God, must go make this shortbread....never ever ever get roped into being on the committee for preschool!!

Chulita · 09/12/2009 15:30

Hmm...potato waffles
Hooray for good scan news

CurlyCasper · 09/12/2009 15:45

won't last long wicked I had a hesitation, followed by a mass outburst!

Well I told my boss today. I figured that even if the worst happened now I'm over 10 weeks so she'd need to know as it would impact on my work. Told her as she got a new job yesterday so we need to start putting plans together. She was pleased, as I expected. She said although I didn't look pregnant she had been waiting for me to tell her that (she's a spiritualist so she said she already knew!) I'm not sure whether I believe her or whether realisticly it was the logical next step for me and DH - I have always said I didn't want a big gap. Hopefully it was cos she 'knew', cos she told me next week's scan will be fine. Hopefully her 'message' is right!!!

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough some of you. Just think, there's not long left til the first trimester's over and we can moan about kicks to the ribs and a bad back instead

givecarrotsachance · 09/12/2009 16:23

winter V cool about your boss. I'm very interested in spiritualism and can well believe that she knew. According to their philosophy, babies already are combining with their souls about now, which I think about now that I know mine's alive and kicking (after scan today) and I'm wondering which soul is choosing YOB and me as its parents.

Obviously that outs me as a nutter, but I don't care .

WinterMadness · 09/12/2009 16:32

Aw, no, you're not a nutter. I think that's a lovely idea

Wonderstuff · 09/12/2009 16:42

Well I had a rubbish doctors appt today 'have you tried ginger?' 'Looking at it with a bit of perspective you only have another 4 or 5 weeks of this' He gave me phenergan - you never know might be a miricle cure.
On the plus side I have booked a scan for the weekend after next, and I am feeling alot better today than yesterday (was very teary yesterday) so maybe I'll start to cheer up soon?

BettyButterknife · 09/12/2009 16:49

Hi everyone, haven't been around for the past week but just wanted to pop in to say hello.

I had my booking in appointment on Monday, and I asked the midwife about the swine flu vaccination. She looked really uncomfortable and said if it were her, she wouldn't have it. She said given that I'm not in contact with lots of people in my job, I'm not at huge risk. And she also pointed out that there are plenty of other strains of flu that I could still succumb to even if I'd had one vaccine, and that was the case when I was pregnant last time. Which I hadn't really considered.

Also learnt that my PCT now routinely scans all women at 10-12 weeks - I will be 9 weeks tomorrow and 12 weeks on New Year's Eve, so I'm hoping it'll be this side of Christmas so we can start to tell people.

MS still bothering me a bit, but not to the extent it was before I saw the homeopath. Did you see a homeopath too, carrots? Did you see any improvement? Loving the talk about souls

GibbonInARibbon · 09/12/2009 17:07

I could cheerfully swing for someone when they say 'have you tried ginger? had nausea with DD till nearly 6 months and in the end all I could do was this expression

I know they mean well but doesn't help when you are feeling God awful does it?

How soon we forget I guess, I had forgotten how rotten it is till I am feeling it again.

Wonderstuff · 09/12/2009 17:15

I am never ever doing this again. I hadn't forgotton last time, and this time is worse. I am not even going to have anti-d injections I'm so adament that this is the last ever time I am going to put myself through this. Seriously how can anyone 'enjoy' pregnancy? [wonders of muttering blah humbug]

Wonderstuff · 09/12/2009 17:16

[wonders off even, must get nails clipped]

WickedWitchSouthWest · 09/12/2009 17:27

lol @ gibbon & wonder and the damn ginger! Thing is you just have to keep trying random stuff until you find something that works - for a few days anyway I haven't eaten any jelly today but am scoffing water biscuits with philly & smoked salmon

carrots you're not mad! I have always been interested in spiritualism - my dad is pagan so it kind of follows I guess So put me down as being a bit mental too! I love the idea of souls combining. Mind you I've been talking to beanie here since I got the bfp...

bettyI do wish they'd sort out the advice for us preggos! I'd just decided to have it (as long as I can have the cevalpan (sp). I had a terrible cold a couple of weeks ago and it put me to bed. I NEVER get colds let alone that wiped out so I think I'd rather be protected than not. Still worries me putting extra stuff in my body, and I'll definitely wait til I'm more than 12 weeks.

TishTosh21 · 09/12/2009 17:37

wicked that is such a lovely scan pic! How far gone are you?
