carrots I have a couple of these and I find them comfy. It was all I was wearing when DD was finally dragged from my loins

WinterMadness · 08/12/2009 15:36

LOL @ carrots, I like it

My dh works v long hours and then makes up for it when he comes home by doing absolutely nothing. No cooking, no cleaning, no looking after ds (he has changed 4 nappies in ds's life- never dressed him, never bathed him)...I think you get the picture! But he pays all the bills so suppose I shouldn't complain. So yes, count yourselves lucky carrots and all others with helpful OHs!!!

Nope, my chest hasn't budged a millimeter either. It appears it's only my tummy that's growing. As for tellng people, I have my repeat scan a week tomorrow following last week's bleed. Providing everything is ok then I'll tell work. Pretty much all mine and DH's family know now as well as a handful of friends.

Had a marathon clean today in preparation for Christmas. Woodwork, windows...stuff I never seem to keep on top of when doing normal cleaning...feel sooooo much better for it!

iggypiggy · 08/12/2009 15:45

I feel v. guilty - my poor bloke is doing everything... cooking, cleaning, washing - and leaving for work before me and getting home later - I am useless

violetbubbles · 08/12/2009 15:48

I have a lovely DH too and he is more than happy to do anything I ask him to. But sometimes I have to gently remind him to empty dishwasher etc. Tonight he has decided he is making me a homemade burger and chips because he thinks I should eat something other than Shreddies for tea. I'm looking forward to it...although he'll have to make sure that NO cooking smells escape from the kitchen cos I cannot stand the smell of food cooking at the moment, especially meat!

Oooooh, my boobs are absolutely killing me too. I can only wear my sports bras at the moment and they're even starting to spill out of them too! DH said last night "OMG, they've gotten so huge - do they continue to grow for the whole nine months"?

Chulita · 08/12/2009 15:50

Yum! Sainsbury's man just turned up, DH did the shopping this week and he bought Salt & Vinegar snackajacks I was addicted to these last time and they haven't lost their magic!

Gracie123 · 08/12/2009 15:55

Bloody hell! My chest is huge! And painful. Seems to think I'm b/fing again.

Scan didn't go well today
LO is measuring 4 weeks behind (meaning I tested positive 2 weeks before conception ) and no heartbeat.
Mw wants me to come back in 2 weeks for another scan in case I coincidentally got a false positive before I conceived and it's just too early for a heartbeat.

It all seems very futile, but the same thing happened with ds (they insisted that I must have tested positive 5 weeks before conception so maybe I just grow them slowly?

I refuse to believe I miscarried 4 weeks ago when I only started vomiting 2 weeks ago.

Going to be a miserable 2 weeks waiting though

iggypiggy · 08/12/2009 15:59

gracie how horrible for you - but does sound like there is hope if same thing happened with your DS?

Gracie123 · 08/12/2009 16:06

Yes, had all kinds of problems with ds pregnancy and was so sure this time would be different. Have learnt through it all though that you never trust the opinion of one mw or two if you really don't believe it. Next scan is on the 21st so hopefully will be growing, just very slowly.

Besides which, as long as I'm still puking there is no way I'm going to give up on this thread. I need your daily support!!

Wonderstuff · 08/12/2009 16:12

I hope it all works out Gracie. Thinking of you.

givecarrotsachance · 08/12/2009 16:19

So sorry you didn't get good news, gracie, but (IYSWIM) excellent that you went through it before, so you have some real positive reason to be hopeful.

Good luck and keep positive.

You sound very sure of your dates (anything else other than positive POAS? Did you chart anything?) but as you say, sounds like you grow them slowly!

Chulita · 08/12/2009 16:28

I'm thinking of you gracie, like you say, feeling sick is a very good sign!

givecarrotsachance · 08/12/2009 16:29

chulita cheers, I'll take a look at those.

winter well my last (husband) was like that - but in extremis. As some people here know, he wanted me to have an abortion, then he wanted me to get "it" adopted, told me I was ruining his life, yadda yadda - this was a planned-for baby - he changed his mind after conception.

When LC was born he did nothing. He was hospitalised at 13 days with severe reflux. Compare and contrast:

LC projectile vomits for 3,697th time in day. This time VV messy, puke everywhere, honey of my boobs yet again rejected. I shout, "my baby!". He shouts "my carpets". Tosser.

Anyway, because he would not in any way support me 'n' LC financially, I went back to work when he was 3 weeks old, taking him into the office with me. I run my own business (with my parents) so it would have been tough to take too much time off, but I was planning on more than 3 weeks...

2 years later I left. One divorce and one marriage later, I think I deserve my lovely bloke this time . LC is now 5 years old and a delight - and calls YOB "daddy" coz they love each other .

givecarrotsachance · 08/12/2009 16:31

winter I also have scan tomorrow morning following this weekend's bleed. Good luck both of us

thinking positive thought for you gracie. as you say you probably grow them slowly. I find it hard to beleive that evey woman's bean is the same size at the same age. we're here for you if it feels tough though.

GibbonInARibbon · 08/12/2009 16:54

Sending all positive vibes Gracie, sounds like you grow them slowly to me

Gracie123 · 08/12/2009 17:13

We were charting for 2 years as ttc, and tbh if dh was a suspicious man he'd point out that he was away on rugby tour when they reckon we concieved :s
fortunately he's well aware that this town is too small for an affair to go unnoticed

I guess it's just a long 2 weeks and praying that I am a medical marvel who grows babies over a longer incubation period than most.

GibbonInARibbon · 08/12/2009 17:41

I can imagine it feels like a lifetime away Gracie, keep posting here and we will distract you with (in my case) mindless drivel

violetbubbles · 08/12/2009 17:46

Thinking positive thoughts for you Gracie. I know the next two weeks will be tough but we're all here for you!

WinterMadness · 08/12/2009 18:05

gracie I reckon I trust your opinion over the mw's...here's wishing you many more days of ms and sore boobs, lol

carrots wow, sounds like you made a good move there getting out of that relationship! How lovely that LC has a daddy that cares now. I have to be honest, a lot of people say I should make DH do more, but it generally works for us so it's just the way things are. I didn't know how in-hands on he'd be when planning a family, but I've come to accept it and DS loves his daddy and daddy loves DS so that's all the matters in the grand scheme of things

Oh, and best of luck for the scan tomorrow! Will be thinking of you

WinterMadness · 08/12/2009 18:06

< un-hands on >

WickedWitchSouthWest · 08/12/2009 18:08

good luck carrots and winter with the scans

gracie I'm sorry you're going through a hellish time again I really hope you're just a slow-cooker.

carrots you sound like you've found a gem of a man there! Mine's a star too, I really shouldn't complain but the only thing that gets to me is he doesn't appreciate how tired I'm getting! Altho his face absolutely lit up when he realised I was doing roast chicken last night so we aired our grievances about his mum and she HAD been feeding poison to him that I was lazy and pregnancy isn't hard etc (she's had 3 kids fgs) but he knows how much I do and he just wants a happy household so he's not listening to her drivel about me anymore. So pleased!!!

Anyway, my boobs are killing today! Had no growth at all when having dd so it's been quite marvellous to immediately go up a couple of sizes. They've stopped now though And I've discovered I have a sciatica nerve which is a bit of a pain. Need dh to get my body pillow down from the attic asap coz hobbling about like an old lady is wearing thin!

How's that for some distracting drivel gracie? Almost as good as gibbon

WickedWitchSouthWest · 08/12/2009 18:26

oo quick question: indigestion, what are you taking for it? I'm crippled with it today - if it's not nausea is indigestion!!!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 08/12/2009 18:52

i've just had a mouthful of gripe water so hope that was ok, seems to be helping anyway

Wonderstuff · 08/12/2009 18:53

I found chewie rennies were a lifesaver last pg.
