I too am eating like a student - the shame of it!

They should take them back if they are unopened, although will probably only refund one if they were on 3 for 2 (e.g. one + free one)

I use pregnacare whilst ttc, pg, bf and the ttc. I have never stopped taking it and I can't believe my MS is related to it, or I would have had it whilst bf and ttc IYSWIM. It makes your have grown lovely and shiny too. (v. expensive though - mom bought it for me )

GibbonInARibbon · 03/12/2009 19:06

Welcome all newbies and congrats!!

Funnily enough I stopped the vits and have been better, not sure if it's coincidence or making a difference or at nearly 10 weeks it would be fading anyway? So like you Emster amd just taking the folic acid. Stopped the seabands too, as it seemed despite my initial 'oh these are wonderful', they did bugger all.

I seem to be getting good days and bad days, just keeping fingers crossed the bad days will rear their ugly head less

Hope the bloods come back ok TSC an Poor Flowerbee I truly hope you feel better soon x

Emster30 · 03/12/2009 19:25

Three people, one who knows I'm pg but two who don't, have commented this week on how nice and clear my skin is - I'm sure that's the vitamins (and no booze). Maybe I'll try taking them back and getting Pregnacare.

winjy · 03/12/2009 19:52

im taking pregnacare...and i feel horrendously sick after taking it in the morning but it may be coincidence...gonna try and take it tomorrow night instead see if it makes a difference...coz i nearly puked on my lap this morning!! ha ha!!

Champagneforlunch · 03/12/2009 20:54

Sickness is now kicking in spent all evening cooking tea for my mum and sister only to find that I could only manage about two mouthfulls before the nausea started, they all ate it so it must have been ok.
I found that multi vitimins made me ill last time I put it down to the iron which I know makes me sick, I did the same and had bought them on three for two thinking I was being good and they are still in the bathroom cabinet (if anyone wants them and can use them I'm sure they are still in date and unopened)

WestYorkshireGirl · 03/12/2009 21:25

My independent midwife has advised me only to take Folic Acid until I have my booking in appointment in Jan and she will check my iron then and if it's low, will take some supplements. She reckons the other ones are a waste of money!

Still just very tired in evenings, no sickness and hungry. Just back from Pilates which was good as worked my pelvic floor and abdominals - they need as much help as they can get!

Had 2 days travelling for work and on sites which was very hard work and it's so hard not being able to tell anyone so you just have to grin and bare it! Today was trying to finish off my budgets for next year and found the formulas with the spreadsheets really hard going!!! I keep wondering how you are meant to keep doing your job as a manager when you are PG! Anyone else finding this? Also don't want to tell my team for a bit.

Got the work xmas do in London next week - last year I drank a nice amount of wine and am known for enjoying a glass or two, but don't know how I'm going to explain it....? Also, worried about the tube in rush hour, but have bought some sick bags.....

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/12/2009 22:02

yum sherry trifle.

I'm going to be a big round ball aren't I?

Welcome all the newbies!

flower hope the sickness eases secondcoming good luck with the blood results.

wyg good luck! I don't like the tube outside of rush hour so during must be hell. My little sis does it every day but she's perfected "London Face" so she's fine As for explaining lack of wine drinking you could always pull out the old favourite "I'm on antibiotics for an ear infection I had last week" lol

spidershavearrived · 03/12/2009 22:03

Had a dating scan today and confirmed that there is a viable pregnancy - whoop whoop, only one baby which is fab news cos I think 2 under 2 will be plenty! Due 13th July. Keeping fingers crossed for 12 week scan in 3 weeks. Happy pregnancy to you all.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/12/2009 22:42

yay spiders good news I'm hoping for confirmation of one only on Monday

skihorse · 04/12/2009 07:15

WYG I have no blinkin' idea - I think they just think I'm crackers. On Wednesday I drove to work, parked up... then realised I'd left my laptop at home and had to go home and collect it. Yesterday I couldn't put any make-up on and we had a very difficult meeting where I just felt like wailing "I'm pregnant, give me a break". Only my direct manager at work knows.

violetbubbles · 04/12/2009 07:35

OMG my nausea has been so, so bad lately! It eased up for about 4 hours yesterday, so, of course, I started to panic about losing my symptoms rather than enjoying the break from the 24/7 nausea. I agree that it seems worse when I haven't eaten for two hours. That's why I'm awake at regular intervals during the night to eat Rich Tea biscuits! Still haven't been sick yet, thank goodness! Tried to eat my favourite Indian takeaway meal the other night but couldn't because it tasted like burnt hair. I'm still surviving on a diet of toast, jam, peanut butter, rich tea biscuits, ginger nuts, travel sickness sweets and the odd banana! I'm pretty much ashamed of my eating habits at the moment...but I'm secretly pleased that I'm still feeling nauseous because I think that's a good sign!

I also squealed last night when I took off my bra - the pain - evil!

Welcome to all of the lovely newbies and a big Happy Friday to everyone logging on today! It's almost the weekend, which equals SLEEPING WHENEVER WE WANT - yay! xx

GibbonInARibbon · 04/12/2009 07:58

Can someone tell my DD I can sleep whenever I want

Oh violet make the most of that sleeping when you fancy, it's BLISS and oh how I took it for granted!

I was the same when my MS eased, I even started a thread due to the worry. It has eased again this week and is really only dreadful in the evenings the last few days but I am not worried now. Am telling myself that as I'm nearly 10 weeks it is tailing off [hopeful]

Have the midwife coming over later for full booking in though I thought that is what the GP did when I saw him? Still, be nice to chat to midwife, she is lovely, she was on the team when I had DD

Hope everyone else is well

Spirael · 04/12/2009 08:32

The weekend just means more work, here!! I'm booked in for overtime on Saturday, though at least I get Sunday off before being back at work again for Monday. I can't wait until Christmas... I get six days off in a row! My plan is to sleep, a lot.

I'm also hoping the MS will be easing off by Christmas, as I should be getting to 10-11 weeks by then. It's been getting steadily worse here over the last few days, my normally very good eating habits have started to dissolve in an effort to combat the 24/7 nausea. I'm still doing my best to snack on fruit and yoghurt, but they just aren't filling enough to make a dent sometimes. I've eaten no less than six pancakes with nutella in the last 24 hours.

I'm struggling a bit at work too, mostly during the afternoon when my MS seems to be at its worst. (Though changing my lunch from cold pasta to a hot jacket potato seemed to help yesterday, so we'll try that again today!) I find it hard to focus when I'm constantly eyeing up the distance to the ladies in case I need to make an ungraceful bolt.

I've told my boss and team leader (I needed to explain the two days of absence I've had in the last few weeks) but I'm planning on holding out as long as possible before telling the rest of the team. At least until after my scan in (just under) two weeks, so I know things are viable and progressing as they should. Also hoping for just one in there - I don't know where I'd fit two in my house!! I should be ok though, there's no history of twins in my family at all.

Anyway, I hope you all are feeling better than I am currently-! I thought the pancakes I had an hour ago would keep me going, but the nausea is back so looks like it's time to start on the yoghurt.

CurlyCasper · 04/12/2009 08:57

I have to work all day today, then come back at 9 o'clock tonight - I should be in bed by then!!!!!

Told big boss (finally!) and he was really nice. He knows I'm bloody knackered and told me to look after myself. phew!

And when I got home last night I had a letter from the Maternity Unit - I have a booking app on Jan 7, when I get to have a scan and meet with an obstetrics consultant. so that's scans on Dec 7 and Jan 7. Can't wait now

happy thoughts to all with burpy bums and pukey tums (actually, I've got a very burpy mouth at the mo )

Chulita · 04/12/2009 09:50

Morning all! 'Tis a sad day...I've gone off tea & coffee. Went the whole of yesterday without a cuppa and feel completely bereft on the one hand but even the thought of tea makes me feel ill. I just need the comfort a cuppa and a hobnob brings.
On a more exciting note my best friend just emailed to say she's stopping bc and is going to try for her first - it's embarrassing how excited I am

WickedWitchSouthWest · 04/12/2009 09:50

Morning all

Quite perky today - I actually slept all night (well from half one but it's a start!) and woke up to a lovely frosty day which always makes me happy. Then Radio 1 were playing Beastie Boys so me and dd had a bit of a mosh on the way to school

I'm horribly paranoid about the scan on Monday, it's such a worry not knowing what's going on in there...

violet sleeping whenever we want, ahh those are happy happy memories lol. I'm with gibbon, someone please tell my dd that one too?!

oh curly try and get a nap in there somewhere!

spirael don't panic about the eating habits, I've given up for now. Hopefully I'll feel better over christmas and I can start to address the lack of fruit and veg in my diet then!

iggypiggy · 04/12/2009 09:52

winjy someone on another thread said that pregnacare made their MS worse - but boots own was fine. I am just taking sanatogen folic acid - but I think that comes with some multi vitamins too...

I find am sicker if leave too long without eating or if am feeling v. tired...

GibbonInARibbon · 04/12/2009 09:59

Ooohh now I need to dig out my Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill album

Bimey that makes me feel old.

iggypiggy · 04/12/2009 10:01

wickedwitch My scan is on Monday and so is curly's - anyone else too?

I feel v. ropey today

Chulita · 04/12/2009 10:08

I'm taking pregnacare but feel so nauseous and since someone mentioned it I think it did start around the same time as the vits. I'm going to stop taking them for a couple of days and see if it makes any difference.
Maybe we should get together on this thread and organise a babysitter who can take all our LOs tomorrow so we can spend the day in bed!

winjy · 04/12/2009 10:43

didnt take pregnacare this morning and surprise surprise no sickness!! gonna take it at night instead i think

rang docs to see what was happening with the referral for scan and apparently it was sent 23rd novemeber!! and the hosp havent received it!! grrr BUT they have faxed it for me and said i can ring them lunchtime for an appointment so fingers crossed it will be soon ....

The golden hour on Radio One this morning was especially good WickedWitchSouthWest as it was all songs from 1984 - and they played a Blur track too - reminded me of Fresher's Week at uni - ahhh, good times

Sorry for implying in an earlier post that we'd all get an opportunity for some much needed rest over the weekend. Had forgotten that other people have DC to look after and weekend jobs! .

I have taken today off to do some cleaning in preparation for putting my Xmas decorations up next week. I have just thrown out a multipack of hula hoops that went ot of date in April 2009 .

I think I've let standards slip somewhat...

Spirael · 04/12/2009 11:34

Hee, I can beat April 09... I was clearing out my cupboard a few weeks ago and found some jars and tins that went out of date in 2005! I think I need to clear out the back of the cupboard more often.

I put my little Christmas tree up earlier in the week, but the lights seem to have stopped working! So one of my jobs on Sunday morning is to undecorate the tree again, change the lights, and redecorate it.

If the apology was in any way directed at me then don't worry about it, violetbubbles. I just wish Saturday was nice and relaxing! I might get a chance next week for a relaxing weekend... Though it's the Scouts Christmas Party on Saturday afternoon which I get the feeling might be kinda manic.

I've moved up a clothes size already, but I'm sure it's the rubbish I've been eating bloating rather than bump. Fortunately I have clothes in size 12 and 14 (I'm usually a 10) from when I was larger a few years ago. They've been stored in a box in the cupboard, but I've had to raid them in the last few days... Ah well, at least it means I kept them for a good reason!

I've not received any letters yet to do with anything maternity. I presume I'm waiting for a letter from the hospital I selected for my care, giving me an appointment? I'm presuming I'm also meant to be receiving some kind of evidence document for free prescriptions and dental care? I have a dentist appointment in two weeks, so hopefully I'll have received something by then!

Oh well... I have my next MW appointment next week, so if I've still not received anything by then I'll ask her about it.

Gracie123 · 04/12/2009 12:24

WOW the MS is kicking in, and I have a client today who I am going to try not to vomit on, but can't make any promises this is a sick face NOT a jealous one...

But on the bright side we are getting the keys to our new house on wednesday!!! Yipppeeeee!!!!!!

Builders are in there now replacing the knackered window and repainting/carpeting the entire place, but they have said they will be done and drop keys through to us by weds and we can move in thursday!

Coincidently that is also when our christmas hols start so DH will be home to move all the furniture

Now I have to go puke...
