Hi everyone

Im due 19th July and this will be our 2nd baby. We had been ttc for over a year and had unsuccessful ivf in july so this a very happy surprise.

Had to phone in sick this morning due to a bout of all night pukery. no fun

However when the nausea goes I make up for it! Necked a muffin and philadelphia, 2 tunnocks tea cake and a bag of popcorn this evening

Hoping nausea will STAY AWAY tonight. Anyone else suffering from nighttime sickness?

Firerise · 02/12/2009 20:46

Winter I am so pleased everything is ok and you got to see your babys heartbeat!!! Phew! Xxx

TishTosh21 · 02/12/2009 20:48

tobago04 · 02/12/2009 20:49

Welcome bluebell! What a fab story (not the all night puking obviously lol).

Well done Tish! You CAN do it

I've just eaten a massive portion of apple pie and double cream no wonder I can't bloody sleep at night...I'm either hungry or too full!

violetbubbles · 03/12/2009 07:23

Was thinking about you all day yesterday Winter - I'm so glad that your story has a happy ending!

violetbubbles · 03/12/2009 07:29

beckyg123 - I'm at the New Victoria for scans but will attend the Southern General for delivery, if all goes according to plan. My doctor sent my referral letter on 9th November and I received my appointment letter three and a half weeks later. My scan will take place when I am 12 weeks + 2 days. I'm very excited but also feeling incredibly nervous and anxious. We're hoping all goes well at the scan so that we can surprise our families on Christmas Day

Hope your appointment letter arrives soon. x

CurlyCasper · 03/12/2009 08:47

so glad to hear the good news Winter - and you've made me even more excited for my private scan on Monday. I desperately want to hear that heartbeat!

Chulita · 03/12/2009 09:05

So pleased for you winter!
Nausea has kicked in big style for me, all day long. I've got no appetite but I want to keep eating to get rid of the disgusting baby taste. Spent ages last night cooking stuffed chicken with veg and just couldn't stomach it. I'm so tired, I was leaning over the loo this morning heaving with 12mth DD clinging onto the side...nice Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of that taste?
Well done tishtosh btw
I should probably go and see a GP, I'm just trying to delay so the pgcy goes quicker...works in my world!
Non pukey vibes to all!

Chulita · 03/12/2009 09:07

That's baby taste btw, not anything else...my brain is blank today!
Ooh! And I demolished a whole bag of salt & vinegar kettle chips...hmmmmmmmm, can't get enough of that vinegary taste. Chips anyone?

givecarrotsachance · 03/12/2009 09:52

chulita if you are struggling to get rid of the baby taste, my recommendation would be to stop eating babies.

winter excellent news

Got booked in with an independant midwife today - hurrah. First appointment 18th December. Expensive, but worth it.

Appointment with homeopath this afternoon as sick of sicky sickness

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/12/2009 10:17

pmsl carrots I thought the same advice for chulita In all seriousness though chulita just keep eating! I'm troughing carbs (mostly crisps and chips and jacket potatoes), salt and general lard like sausage rolls As an example i've just eaten a bag of ready salted crisps and a thorntons choclate. Give me an hour and I'll be snacking on something else...I'm gonna be a big round ball! Dreading the weigh in next week at booking in...eek.

I think we've probably covered this already but I've had my call to go in and get the swine flu jab now. I wasn't going to do it, but I've been so ill with this cold that i don't see I have a choice now. If I can be poleaxed by a simple head cold I can't imagine what flu would be like

Gracie123 · 03/12/2009 11:29

Winter Thank God! I've been praying for you loads. Really wanted your LO to be okay

Getting a bit nervous about my early scan now. 5 days to go....

So, DS woke up at 7 (actually DH poked him awake) we told him it was his birthday, he said 'no thank you' and went back to sleep. After a bit more coaxing we managed to get him to open one gift. He cuddled it, played with it, but when offered another 'no thank you'.

Any breakfast DS?

'No thank you'

What would you like to play with now?

'my bed'

really?

so he went back to bed and still hasn't woken up. These antibiotics are ridiculous. I can't believe we still have to give them to him even when they know he is allergic.

Should I bother waking him up when his friends come over or just let them all play with his toys?

stac14 · 03/12/2009 12:15

Hi ladies
was wondering if I can join in, found out I was pregnant on 20th Nov and had worked out I was about 9 weeks, but due to having polycystic ovary syndrome I found out at an early scan yesterday that I am only 7 weeks+ so should be due mid July. This is my 2nd pregnancy ds is 10 so this feels like the first time again lol. Not had much sickness yet, boobs are aching and have been cramping but saw the scan yesterday and theres a lovely wee blob and heartbeat. How are the rest of you feeling? xx

Wonderstuff · 03/12/2009 12:24

Aww Gracie bless him. I'd be tempted to let him sleep.

Congrats stac14

I went back to the doctors again today and finally have a prescription to help with sickness, god I hope it works I haven't been able to function at all for a week now and I feel so ill.

DreamingAboutSleep · 03/12/2009 13:18

Hello everyone,

Can I join in too? I've been lurking about for a while now, just haven't had chance to post!

I'm about 8 weeks now and due around the 16th July, I have a one year old DD so am starting to feel very worried about the prospect of coping with two LO's under 2!!!! Am also feeling the nausea (but thankfully no MS) and have the horrible taste in my mouth, although mine is more of a metallic thing, am brusing my teeth about a million times a day but it never seems to quite do the trick!

Nice to meet you all

Hello girls again! Just got out of hospital for hyperemesis for 3rd time now and was loooking for our thread.....but love the name of the new one!

Don't know how long i'll be around, nausea and computer screens tend not to go together for some reason but i have been revelling in all your food porn fantasies (or realities in some cases)! I am starving! But only taking it slowly..damn.

WinterMadness · 03/12/2009 14:39

Gosh you're having a tough time aren't you Flowerbee? Bless your cotton socks xx

Welcome newbies! Dreamingaboutsleep, my ds has just turned 1 and I'm 9weeks+3 so completely with you on that one. We're not the only ones on this thread in that boat though - we'll be fine

I know a GP and he told me (off the record) to have the swine flu after 20 weeks so that's what I'm going to aim for and hope for the best in the meantime!

Hope everyone's ok x

mousemole · 03/12/2009 16:31

food porn - foam bananas and pink shrimps. SOOOOOOOOOO nice !

stac14 · 03/12/2009 17:14

Hi ladies, thanks for the lovely welcome!!

winter so nice to hear everything is ok with your bleed, I thought ours was ectopic, but we also had an early scan and baby is were it should be and had a strong heartbeat too, I was so scared as I am sure you were, have been walking about like a cheshire cat since yesterday lol

violet and becky I am also from Glasgow but like Becky I am through the princess royal. I was seeing a specialist at the new victoria for assitance to concieve, but it is a lovely place, pity they don't have a maternity ward I would have loved to have given birth in there lol. I say my gp on 23th Nov but she didnt send my referal letter away till 30th but I got an early scan due to the pains I was getting. I have been told my next scan will probably be after xmas which I am a bit gutted about. Anyway I am rabbiting on lol

Hows the morning sickness today?? Food porn for me tonight will be spicy onions and popodoms feel as if I have been starving for the past week lol xxx

winjy · 03/12/2009 17:43

omg morning sickness kicked in bigtime today!! wasnt actually sick but nearly sick so many times driving to uni had to wind the windows down, and keep swallowing...does this mean my bean is sticking!!
have totally lost my appetite too, but trying to eat coz its not just about me now...still waiting to hear about early scan, bloody nhs!! really want one before xmas....

there are so many on here now...its so lovely that we're all in the same boat...too many to comment on but i am sending love and hugs to you all xx

TishTosh21 · 03/12/2009 17:48

My midwife left a message to call her today, so i do after work although her phone is switched off...whats the point in having a midwife if shes not contactable??

Emster30 · 03/12/2009 18:36

It suddenly struck me that my pregnancy vitamins (Boots Mum to Be Plus) might not be helping with the nausea, so today I just took one of the plain folic acid pills I was taking while TTCing. I definitely didn't feel nearly as sick! I forgot my seabands as well so we very glad not to feel too awful.

Only trouble is I got the vits on 3 for 2 and they were quite expensive - do you reckon they'll take the two untouched packs back? Should I try a different brand? Or perhaps start taking them before bed rather than first thing?
