oh no damnit how annoying!!!! Well done bump02!!!! Daddy just baby dancing with Toby while i have 5 mins....... anyone else had carple tunnel syndrome....... thought mine would disappear when baby was born but still bad..... can only feel my little finger on my right hand properly!!!

madmissy · 29/12/2009 09:35

Been keeping eye on thread but trying to keep on top of things.
Tried breastfeeding but was getting very down and very tearful so knocked in on the head.
Just trying to keep up with 3 under 4. The girls are playing up and are hard work i'm so tired.
Dh only had 5 days off and 2 of them I was being induced. He had x mas off and i've been relying alot on mum and mil.
Brodie is now just over 2 weeks i'm getting awful pains . Got midwife in little bit i'm not getting discharged yet I think they are wanting to keep eye on me due to history.
Still not got dd1's new uniform for when she starts in jan!
Finding that brodie has to co sleep alot at the moment so i'm not getting much sleep. He's been bit constipated I think.. So I guess he just wants mummy.
Well done to new mummys!
Will try and get on again soon but my internet down and my phone network is rubbish at the moment so if I get on its a miracle.
Sparkly how you doing?

JoseyM · 29/12/2009 11:27

Oh well done Bump02!! I am soooo jelous, still been having twinges etc but nothing serious since my little stint last week. I really agree with what you said about it seeming like one big lie and there isn't a baby at all!! Really made me chuckle.

Im not due until 1st Jan (this Friday) so i can't really complain, it is just that i thought it was all happening because of earlier contractions where as if i hadn't had those i wouldn't even be thinking about it because i had told myself it would be late so that i wasn't disappointed! Now i am stuck feeling really frustrated wondering when...????

I am really struggling to sleep because my hips ache and i seem to be getting up every 5 mins to pee!

Fingers crossed it will be here soon. DH is on a night shift Thurs and Friday so i hope it doesn't come then (he is a firefighter but they have said that he can go so long as they are not on a call)

Will keep you posted, looks like i will be the last one at this rate!

sparklycheerymummy · 29/12/2009 11:43

madmissy i think you deseve an award haviung 3 under 4..... my dd is nearly 8 and ds 16 or 17 days and i am finding it hard to maintain a balance in the house. ds is sleeping at night ok but not during day so its hard to get everything done adn i am one who likes to have the house in order to feel right in my head. i was discharged from midwife at day 10 as feeding was going fine adn ds seemed settled and i was feeling positive but the endless strem of visitors and keeping up the happy act got me down on day 11 and i am battling to stay up rather than down....... am still eating .....and sleeping when i can so i know i havent hit rock bottom..... with dd i didnt do either. have decided to give myself a break from the pressures of what i 'should' and 'shouldnt' be doing and just getting through it. seeing health visitor today and am nervous...... its the same one i had for dd and i dont like her......bloody see through tarty tops and long painted nails that scratched my dd and an endless stream of suggestions.... try these bottles, try this milk, do it this way, that way etc........ instead of getting to the root of all the screaming!' dd ended up in hospital at 4 months as i broke down and health visitor just tutted at me saying a was being dramatic..... dd had not fed for 72 hours....gggrrrrrrrrr hospital stuck tubes down her and found that she had silent reflux and was in incredible pain and the health visitor just made out i was being ott

silent reflux was something i had not heardof so anyone struggling with 'colic' could do with checking its not that...... infant gaviscon in bottles and she was sorted! Reflux is when it comes out as sick and silent reflux is just like indigestion...... sorry just thought i would pop that in!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/12/2009 13:27

Well got back from hospital at 10pm thankfully she hasnt caught Jakes chest infection. But the Dr was concerned about her eyes and has took swabs from them. He gave us some drops which seem to be helping. Poor little mite her whole time out of the womb and she has been all snuffly, but she's a trooper, she fed 11, 2, and 5 last night and now she's happily napping in her new bouncer thing.
Im starting to feel a bit better now, finally got hamster cleaned out which was really getting me down, its bizarre how little things like that can play on your mind and suddenly become the most stressful thing ever!
Hope everyone else is recovering well and congrats to the new little arrival, hopefully we'll see a few more soon. It seems to be the pattern on this thread, nothing for a few days and then they come in little groups!

BTW Anyone else really craving biscuits and chocolate? Im trying really hard not to pick at the christmas chocolates but its really hard!!

Mybox · 29/12/2009 13:29

Silent colic sounds very difficult as must have been hard to know about this.

I've three aged 4yrs & under and three others (one just started senior school & two primary school age) and it is hard work. For me what helps with bf is being able to bf and have a free hand when looking after the other little ones. I bf with dd (now 4 wks!) in my arms and can move about as usual. Can do most things apart from hot things in the kitchen & ironing.

Mybox · 29/12/2009 13:31

Congratulations Bump & happy to hear you're home abf - best wishes.

Am enjoying some yum choc atm!

legscrossed · 29/12/2009 13:58

congrats to all new arrivals! things are really coming along.
I've been mental busy with new born, dp goes away for 5 days n home for 2 and so on so its been a baptism of fire! (my first n all) Hence not been on mn at all.
A query for you gals.......... when can I expect auntie flo, Mine was a section,dd now 5 weeks, bf.
Hv not due for ages or would ask her

LaDiDaDi · 29/12/2009 15:26

started a postnatal thread as this one will be filled up soon.

GoldenSnitch · 29/12/2009 15:40

Been checked by the doctor who says I am fine and the fainting in Tesco was probably just a one off

Not feeling poorly so wasn't expecting anything else but it's nice to have it confirmed.

legscrossed DS was an EMCS and I BF - my periods didn't come back for months! About 8 as far as I remember. I think if you're exclusively bf-ing it can take a long time - or a few weeks - depends on your body.

Will see everyone over on the new thread....awaitees too! Maybe it'll encourage a few more babies to make an appearance if we're calling it post natal

Claire236 · 29/12/2009 16:08

Am struggling with ds1 being off school as well as 4 week old ds2 so don't know how those of you with more children are managing - especially bf as well.

Thanks for the replies, I really needed some support when I last posted. I'm feeling a bit more positive today in spite of not having much sleep. ds2 won't go more than 3 hours between feeds but sometimes takes an hour to drink a bottle so we're not getting more than 2 hours sleep at a time. Survivable while dh is off work to share the sleepless nights but he goes back next week which I'm dreading. He's also frequently violently sick then cries for about an hour afterwards. He cries a lot generally & I don't know what to do for him most of the time. A very different baby to ds1. Had drs appt today as midwife thought I had internal piles & while all dr did was tell me to eat plenty of fibre she did say she thought I had high cholestorol due to some odd white marks under my eyes. Got a fasting blood test next week to find out.

lolianja · 29/12/2009 18:11

40 weeks today

Had a show this afternoon but contractions have pretty much plateaued, they were at 7-8 mins for a while but back to 10 now and still very much manageable, dare I say it.

I think these twins want permanent residency. This is driving me loopy! I refuse to accept that I'll still need my Jan 1st induction!

Hope everybody else is well.

damnitdamnit · 30/12/2009 08:04

sparklycheerymummy i had carple tunnel with dd1, had it throughout pregnancy (but i didnt realise what it was) then was in bad pain after the birth and it got worse. Was slightly better for the year before i got pregnant again then had bad bouts of it when pregnant with dd2. Its not feeling too bad at the moment but i have had splints made etc.. that i wear in bed. Ask to be refered to specialist if you havent already, they give you exercises which do help.

sparklycheerymummy · 30/12/2009 09:42

Thanks damnit...... thought it would magically go but think i need to lose weight before it goes..... its not hurting at moment just my fingers and thumb feel numb all time and grabbing a mug of coffee is hard!

silent gastro oesophigal (cant spell it) reflux is what dd had!

JoseyM · 30/12/2009 11:29

lolianja i feel your pain!! Im 40 weeks Friday although just one little monkey to have to carry around in my belly.

Getting fed up as just can't seem to sleep, everything seems to ache including my belly but still nothing really happening. Having a lot of pressure down below and lots of period pain. No show or anything so think i just gotta hang in there. Going to go to the ciema tonight (thats if i can mange not to pee every 5 mins, think il sit on the end of the row). I can't sit at home waiting for tummy ache to get worse!

Rambo my dog is looking longingly at me to take him for a waddle round the park, just trying to get the motivation to get my arse off of the sofa, never know it might help get things going!

Were any of your babies really really active before you went into labor? The last few nights it has been going mad in there. Its almost like it doesn't like being squished!

Milliemuffin · 31/12/2009 07:44

Josey - my waters went on the Friday night and even on the Sunday afternoon she was still active and moving around and so really caught me by surprise and arrived 35 mins after a contraction that didn't seem to stop. They'd been 9 mins apart for 5 hrs (4pm to 9pm) and I was managing fine with my tens then I rang at 918 to ask for MW for home birth but they were all out so ambulance came, (no way I could've sat in a car) got to hospital at 940 and there wasn't time to do anything other than take my trousers and slippers off and I delivered standing against DP. But yes she was very active even with not much water.

Scorps has had her DD, hope she doesn't mind me telling you, I'm sure she'll post when she gets a chance. She was born last night, there's a couple of pics on fbk, one feeding so I think they're doing ok, hope so.

Hi everyone

Glad to hear that there are some new arrivals.

Was 40 weeks yesterday and MW tried a sweep today but she didn't think I was favourable.
BP is up along with the protein in my urine, blood etc. Back to the midwife Unit at the hospital on Monday morning for a check up and another sweep although I have to go in if I don't feel right or bum doesn't move as much.

If all else fails induction is booked for the 11th.

Hope everyone has a fab Hogmany and New Year.

madmissy · 31/12/2009 19:39
