sparklycheerymummy · 24/11/2009 15:35

snap annie..... i couldnt believe it when i got measured and couldnt believe it when i found some so cheap in the supermarket that actually fit with a bit of room!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 24/11/2009 15:37

think they only do it at hospital here..... we have a community midwife team that see you at docs surgery and same team that do stuff like that at a clinic in hospital or something!!!

Scorps · 24/11/2009 15:42

Here, we get looked after by community MWs all the time, including labour and post birth. You only go to hospital if you have a hospital birth or need consultant care, oh and of course scans.

I know all the MWs now

Bit annoyed with eBay lately. We put for sale a phone, got good high bidding and then at the last second a 0 rated person bid and won, and then deregistered. SO annoying, especially as amount was hundreds. Have relisted. Plannign on spending it on dcs for Xmas and to get DHs tattoo finished!

I have got alot of baby stuff from eBay though, like some Boden bits for Mimi and they really do look new.

For baby i still need a bouncy cradle chair swing thing; but will prob get after she is born as for first week or two she will be in crib anyway.

OP posts:
sparklycheerymummy · 24/11/2009 15:53

I know all the midwives too and there is always 2 on duty on the labour ward so always a friendly face.....have only been to hospital for my scans as my booking in appointment was at home..... for an hour and it was lovely... sat drinking tea and chatting etc any 'procedures' are done at hospital and as i am under consultant care i HAVE to have it done there ..... its all linked with the strep B I think!!! My hospital is as close as docs so i dont mind!!!!My dd is 7 and the midwife who delivered her is still on the team!!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 24/11/2009 15:55

My best bouncy chair with dd ended up being the cheapest one in Argos as it actually really bounced and was great when she had colic!!!! about £13 I think!!!!

Scorps · 24/11/2009 15:55

It's lovely knowing them isn't it

Our hospital is 40 minutes away by car; MWs is 10 minutes walk so im very happy to be mw led care only!

Adding myself back in - haven't been on in ages as dealing with redundancy has been my main focus, but I finally finish on Thurs and then can focus on new arrival and Christmas!

Congrats Charleymouse!
Am hoping for a slightly earlier birth date than due date, but still a good few weeks for me!

BexJ78 · 24/11/2009 16:36

hi everyone. i chickened out of the SF jab and cancelled this morning...aaargghh! I just can't decide and DH is about as decisive as me. am 38+3 and not at work any more and don't have any other DC so perhaps not exposed to too much risk, but you never know do you?! oh bloody hell!

Milliemuffin · 24/11/2009 17:18

Is anyone else completely convinced their baby is going to be early but secretly wishing they're wrong cos otherwise it's going to be a loooooong few weeks! I'm 90% packed and ready at 35wks and every twinge I think is this the start but then I have to tell myself not to think like that, really doing my head in already!

Claire236 · 24/11/2009 17:20

Sparkly - sex didn't work for me either. Contractions more frequent for a while but now back to the same as usual. Wouldn't mind the waiting so much if I hadn't been having contractions for what now feels like years.

Kingsroadie · 24/11/2009 18:36

Catz great - yes it's good he does free delivery too and really flexible about returnng stuff - up to 45 days but on the phone to me he said he doesn't even really stick to that as he knows what a busy time it can be...

Annie yes that must be annoying for you. I am have been measured as a 32F - am normally a 32D but am currently wearing a 32 (and was wearing a 34) E, so am slightly worried that there isn't enough room in a 32F as they fit pretty well now, albeit with a bit of room! However, hotmilk stop at 32F so am determined to fit into them - might have to buy a 32G though at some point maybe - depending on how much milk I get.

Come on babies!

1petshortofazoo · 24/11/2009 21:12

thanks scorps, I rang work this afternoon and told them I didn't feel upto coming in for the rest of the week. my boss/friend just put me through to the lady who does the wages to sort out paying me etc. and it turns out I still had a weeks holiday that I can use, which I thought I could but my boss said I couldnt as I was leaving before the end of the financial year....

Anyway I am free!! Yipee!!

I thinks friend could be a little jealous, she is a few years older than me and single with no kids. she was brill when I had my DS but found it hard that we couldnt do everything together anymore and that I didnt go out drinking at the weekends. so we sort of driffed apart...

nearly forgot congrats Charley!!

I was hoping to be a few weeks early as he is looking to be on the large side but my pram doesnt arrive until the 20th so he has to stay in until then

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 24/11/2009 21:51

Am stressed to the eyeballs with work at the mo, even though I started mat leave 3/4 wks ago. Keep being "invited" to meetings at less than 24hrs notice, as it turns out that everyone's contract will be altered, mine will be reduced hours. I DO NOT NEED THIS WHEN I'M 36 WKS PREGNANT!! So many questions and am not at work to have the support of colleagues or hear what's happening unofficially like. My boss is trying to be great but quite frankly isn't really helping. Ended up in tears yesterday and have had a tight pain across my bump since yesterday when it all kicked off. Know I need to stop stressing but how do I do that? Have got mw appointment on Thurs and if she says my bp is higher than usual, I'm telling my boss she'll need to contact me re this stuff via DH which will save me some stress.

Apologies ladies for letting that out. Trying to concentrate on pregnancy and labour (similar to whoever it was, starting to worry I can't cope with pain despite it being pretty easy last time). Have still yet to pack hospital bag, it's now been a week of me saying that! And need to check I have everything I need for home birth and work out where DD is going to go when I go into labour. And have less than a week to wrap up DD's advent calendar pressie's. Not a job DH is capable of

anniebigpants · 25/11/2009 09:01

Morning ladies. Looks like im in labour now! Had a bloody show early hours of morning followed by period type paind which have now developed into contractions lasting 30 secs and coming every 10 minutes. Still bearable, i find walking around the living toom when i have a contraction easier than sitting down. Im busy doing the ironing now, my friend took DS to nursery for me, so theres just me, will call DH in a couple of hours and get him home. Good labour and birthing vibes required ladies, thank you!.

Moosy · 25/11/2009 09:08

Am getting very little sleep at the moment because DS isn't sleeping properly since we moved him into his new room at the beginning of November. I'm getting 4 hours a night at best, which I could really do without as I was hoping for a couple of weeks of rest and lots of sleep once I finished work. Really hope DS gets his sleep sorted out before this one comes - but only 12 days till due date so not too hopeful.

good luck Annie - will be checking back to see how things are going later!

Milliemuffin · 25/11/2009 09:24

Best of luck Annie! xx

Scorps · 25/11/2009 09:27

Annie

Try to eat, and rest as well; if it's real it will progress no matter what, you don't want to wear yourself out! Happy birthing
