WhatSheSaid · 02/11/2009 22:35

The due date calculators sometimes assume a 28 day cycle too - though I think the mumsnet one gets you to put in how many days your cycle in. Mine has been between 21-25 days recently so it's a bit hard to pinpoint an exact edd. But so few people actually give birth on their edd anyway!

WickedWitchSouthWest do you have high blood pressure? Or low?

I haven't really got any symptoms yet - last time the ms kicked in about 6 weeks and tailed off about 11wks. Strongest symptom was the enhanced sense of smell, could smell things from miles away! Well, not quite miles...

WickedWitchSouthWest · 02/11/2009 22:40

lol whatshesaid I'm getting fed up of being able to smell cat food anywhere in the house!

All the calendars I've used so far have allowed you to adjust the cycle date but like you said it's immaterial anyway! I remember sitting there on dd's due date prodding my bump and saying "come on then, out you come". I only succeeded in giving her hiccups and to spite me she hung on for another 4 days

I feel utterly crap now, my heart keeps pounding, dizziness and waves of nausea. My boobs are unbearably sore now too. Need sleep I think It's low blood pressure. It just gets lower during pregnancy unfortunately. Once my mw couldn't actually find evidence of any bp at all and made me walk about for a minute before trying again. Brilliantly she then prescribed plenty of rest and no rushing to work before appointments

randomama · 02/11/2009 23:48

Hi can I join too please? Just did a test yesterday.
According to MN's DD calculator I'm due 5th July (which will be DS's 3rd birthday).

Slightly in shock as this was our first month that we'd decided to TTC, and we thought we'd missed it cos we both got flu and only had sex once this month.

So yes this will be number 2, and I'm 31.

I look forward to the journey with you guys

x

randomama · 02/11/2009 23:50

PS - symptoms so far are insomnia (obv!), emotional instability and massive boobs and bloating.

Welcome irishfairy and randomama Congratulations!

WWSW it sounds like you have every symptom in the book! Its reassuring though - I wish I had a few more, it would make me feel a bit more relaxed!

The sicky latest family all went to bed last night at 7pm, rock and roll however I feel human this morning, and ds ate for the first time in 3 days a decent breakfast - thank goodness as he was feeling lighter and did one small pee all night. Bloody bugs, sent to scare first time mums!

celery I didn't know the vits did that to some people - yuk, the last thing you need is to feel worse!

apski going off chocolate is very very unfair! Can you not explain to your body its a good source of iron, and an importnat supplement?!!

Speaking of iron, did anyone get very anaemic last pregnancy and do anything different for their subsequent pgs? I did and really do not want to experience that again!

GibbonInARibbon · 03/11/2009 09:48

Welcome irishfairy and randomama and congrats!

Hello all

Yes have been slacking in the ol' smiley dept, trying v hard

After reading your posts I too tried the MN DD calc and oddly enough it gives me a different day too? 2nd July. Have doctors appointment on Friday so would think I will get a date then.

Still a bit nervous that the morning sickness not started yet, the rational part of me knows each pregnancy can be different but the hormonal loon is fretting.

Glad you are all feeling better LC and take it easy WWSW with that blood pressure
and Apuski, please pass some of that chocolate aversion this way please, it's another thing I had with DD that is sadly being rather elusive this time

Have a good day all

Mouseybrown · 03/11/2009 11:09

Thanks for all your kind messages re wretched toothache!
Been to dentist, no abcess visible on x-ray (I've had a couple before and thought I recognised the signs) so just have antibiotics for now. Feel bad about taking antibiotics when pg but no real alternative.

Welcome to all new ladies- I will stop moaning soon-promise!!!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/11/2009 13:01

mmmmm yoga! feel very chilled. I fully recommend it! But don't then go and walk to school to collect dd and walk back through the muddy woods 3 times coz dd dropped her toy. Argh. Absolutely knackered now!

gibbon my ms proper didn't start til 6 weeks with dd so expecting it to get worse from next week!

I'm not keen on sweet things at the mo, just want crisps, nuts, potato waffles and general rubbish

Right, lunch is beeping (if I didn't have an oven timer everthing would be burnt!

GibbonInARibbon · 03/11/2009 13:38

Yes I think you're right WWSW, feels like I have known I'm pregnant for ages so I forget it's only 5 weeks

I am going to order a yoga dvd today funnily enough

Hope the antibiotics help get rid of that awful toothache soon MB

WickedWitchSouthWest · 03/11/2009 16:57

oh mousey toothache is the worst. Hope those anti b's work quickly

5 weeks today! hooray! I told another friend today . I'm so gobby I can't help it! He's been badgering me for a run but I just don't feel like running at the mo and blurted it out... whoops.

giboon I've got prenatal yoga by Shiva Rea. Did it all the time when pg with dd

WhatSheSaid · 03/11/2009 17:57

MB Don't worry about taking abs while pg. If you need em, you need em. I go some weirdy insect bite on my leg when I was 5 wks pg with dd and my calf swelled up massively - I had to have abs for it and the dr assured me it was safe.

randomama · 03/11/2009 19:14

I need to moan. I hope no one minds. I've just had really annoying tummy ache and back ache all day. I can't remember this from the last pregnancy. I'm ratty as owt. AGH. I am finding spending time with DS (2.4) exhausting and emotionallly draining even though he is behaving perfectly normally. I seem to find everything DP does/says incredibly irritating.
I am normally a really happy, laid back person. In my last pregnancy I just sailed through everything. This time I just feel as though I'mk constantly on the verge of tears (although I guess it's only been a couple of days knowing.) Hopefully tomorrow after the docs it will all feel better.
what's wrong with me??????

randomama · 03/11/2009 19:16

by the way. hi everyone. thanks for being super welcoming. sorry i'm just instantly being a total moaning cow.
i'm really looking forward to getting to know you all.
xoxox

GibbonInARibbon · 03/11/2009 19:30

I have been a bit like that random - usually very patient but it's like I have the worst PMT ever at times then I am ok again. Dont apologise for venting (it's not moaning ) I am sure we will all have our venting moments

I have eaten like a woman possessed today.

kkfairybrains · 03/11/2009 19:32

hi can i join the list?!?! this wil b first baby (fingers crossed) miscarried in may this year so trying not 2 worry 2 much but its hard! had 1st app with doc this morn and my edd is 2nd july! hope everything goes well 4 all of us! only symptoms at the minute are the sore and quite enlarged boobs! had crampy pains for a few days but they seem to have gone. nearly wish i had sickness or somethin else to indicate there is somethin there!

randomama · 03/11/2009 19:50

thanks gibbon. i like that - venting. my eating is similarly out of control. i'm dying for chocolate.

welcome kkfairybrains! congratulations on your pregnancy! i'm desperate for the sickness too. i'm sure (I hope) we will be eating our words on that score soon enough though.

random vent away! It's probably better to vent here than at the other half all the time . My dh came in earlier to find me fast asleep on the sofa with dd curled up with me and Charlie & Lola on and couldn't help but make a remarki! Problem is when I was pg with dd he was working away 4 nights a week so had no idea HOW tired I was. Bah, men!!

MumfieMagic · 03/11/2009 22:10

Hey all
Well that's weird! Got sick this morning, how horrendous was that? Could be the result of some outrageously early mornings and fairly high maintenance clients that have brought on a bit of an anxiety attack OR...... we'll see (unfortunately I think it's the overdoing it reason rather than the 5.5 week old reason). Either way I've promised myself i'll slow down a bit.

KKFB I hear you on the lack of signs front, also my first and I also had m/c at beginning of September so I think the official term right now is 'bricking it' and I am dying to feel more than sore boobs and a bit of possibly related yacking. However, am taking a leaf out of Willitbe's book and trying to keep it all in perspective. Time might seem to be going by real slow at the moment while we all wait but, with any luck, I reckon expanding waistlines and stretchmarks are not far away, woohoo!

Hi to all the new entries and keep strong team!

NorkyStrokesMice · 04/11/2009 08:54

Hello ladies!

Just got my BFP this morning - I kind of knew it was coming, but it was a lovely surprise to actually see the line there!

I had the dreaded hyperemesis with DS, so my main hope is to avoid that this time and actually enjoy being pregnant!
