I am lucky in that I completely go off alcohol when pregnant, don't ever fancy it but the odd glass is meant to be fine

To those with the spotting hope all is well today

I feel sick as a dog again, next time I feel better and complain about it please give me a virtual slap.

Can I hop on? Got BFP on the 18th Nov, if my calculations are correct I'm due on the 25th July. Haven't been to the GPs yet and haven't got any symptoms except a belly that looks like it's getting bigger already

Isemay · 22/11/2009 15:32

Hi--
Just joining now, due July 19th!
This is my first pregnancy and I have so many questions!

Woke up last night with cramping in my lower right abdomen (enough to wake me out of a sound sleep) -- have had "tug"-like cramping in this area (not on the other side at all) for two weeks or so. Does anyone else have this symptom? Is this normal? Especially cramps strong enough to wake me up?
x

Emster30 · 22/11/2009 15:37

Congrats chulita.

I'm still feeling a bit sicky and am getting very tired but it's a bit better than it was. I keep wanting to go out and buy another test just to check it's still positive but that would be silly.

We're off to my parents' for dinner tonight to break the news to them and I'm really nervous! They will be over the moon but it just feels a bit weird. eek!

6 weeks today - it feels like years already, but it's still less than a fortnight since we found out.

Page62 · 22/11/2009 15:48

hi guys,
a bit of brown spotting still today. i have the most hectic day tomorrow at work but will try to have a private scan i just want to put my mind at rest. a friend said that she has had spotting during her pregnancies but in 2 instances where she lost the baby, they were more like gushes. i am really keeping fingers crossed. still vomiting today, but i think it's all nerves.
fingers crossed

thanks for all concerns. hope everyone is feeling well

GibbonInARibbon · 22/11/2009 15:52

Very normal Isemayand congrats!
Congrats chulita

Think the scan is a good idea if you can do it page, just to put your mind at rest x

lifeistooshort · 22/11/2009 17:11

violetbubbles how exciting that you saw and heard your little bean. Nothing short of amazing!

page and misswoowoo I hope the bleeding has stopped. Brown spotting is good news (old blood) and red spotting so long as no cramps pain is worrying but generally ok. My BF blead throughout her pregnancy and she had a fine and healthy daughter.

Am still very tired. had to lie down at 14.00 which isn't great as I was meant to start packing! The cramps have also returned and I think I might give in an wear maternity trousers already as my jeans are already cutting in my middle big time towards the end of the afternoon.

I am also wondering whether I should hire independent midwives this time round. I would so love to have the midwife that looked after me for DS (but we moved too far).

twigletti · 22/11/2009 17:18

Hi everyone, got my BFP last weekend and now plucking up courage to join the July'ers, if I may?

Have had 2 mcs, so am feeling a bit apprehensive, but also feeling a lot more positive this time than last time.

I'm due (according to fertility friend) on 26/07/09.

Wow, it's making it feel much more real seeing it written down here! Am really hoping for 3rd time lucky

MissWooWoo · 22/11/2009 19:24

hi

just wanted to give an update. Had a fairly uneventful night but then more bleeding this morning. Passed what I thought was not very well developed embryo, absolutely distraught. Took this to EPU at hospital, they said it was pregnancy tissue and then gave me an internal scan. There was a sac with something inside but no heartbeat, dated 5 and a half weeks. Given 2 options:

  1. I am less pregnant than I thought and sac may develop as time goes on
  1. Everything has stopped at 5 and a half weeks and bleeding is the start of a miscarriage.

tbh it's not looking good, mainly because I know exactly the one and only time I had sex last month and even if the sperm managed to survive the full 72hrs that would still put me at 6 weeks not 5 and a half. I'm also pretty sure that I ovulated on that day - although bizarrely I thought from my right ovary but according to the scan it was from my left.

I don't "feel" pregnant. I am a bit tired but really that's to be expected what with all that's been going on.

I just have to wait it out really, see how the bleeding goes - it has tailed off somewhat but I'm not feeling hopeful at all.

Will let you all know how it goes. Thanks so much for everyone's support - it's a big big help. DP was marvellous last night despite being tipsy

page hope everything goes well for you ... maybe you could get an early scan on NHS?

givecarrotsachance · 22/11/2009 20:17

misswoowoo I'm so, so sorry to hear your news. I do so much hope that there's an error with the dates, and that things still work out ok.

Thinking of you.

tjtheminx · 22/11/2009 21:15

misswoowoo fingers crossed that everything is ok for you. I wonder what they meant by "pregnancy tissue" though.
I wouldn't lose hope just yet, see how the next few days go. I know from bitter experience that the docs on call at the weekend aren't exactly the sharpest when it comes to interpreting mcs.
Hope every thing ok too page
I am completely symptom free again since yesterday. So of course worried. The last mc was at 18 weeks though so I would prefer if it was going to happen it was sooner rather than later.
secondcoming I think a coupla glasses of bubbly should be ok. I read somewhere that the placenta doesn't take over till around 12 weeks anyhow so unlikely any alcohol can get through. That said I'm going to try and not drink at all for the first 12 weeks this time.... although it's not exactly the best time of the year for that

Page62 · 22/11/2009 21:22

h misswoowoo, hope it all works out for you. i am going to call this private place near my office to see if they can see me around lunchtime. i am trying to busy myself today, though have been a bit snappier at my DCs who are 6 and 3....thanks for all positive thoughts.
just continuous brown spotting - not a gush, no cramps, but still scary as never happened with the 2 previous ones.....
will keep you updated

lazyemma · 23/11/2009 06:23

MissWooWoo - I'm really sorry to hear things aren't looking hopeful. It sounds like yesterday was an awful experience - I'm glad your partner is being supportive though.

I hope you get your scan, Page - fingers crossed for you.

And welcome to everyone I haven't yet said hello to.

violetbubbles · 23/11/2009 06:56

Sorry to hear that you've had such stressful and worrying weekends MissWooWoo and Page62. I'm thinking positive thoughts for you both! x

DeeLite · 23/11/2009 07:40

Hey misswoowoo and page. Thinking of both of you and hoping everything works out. For what it's worth, I had some spotting and cramping last week and went for a scan. Thankfully, everything was okay but the doctor told me that spotting occurs early on in a quarter of successful pregnancies.

Take care x

skihorse · 23/11/2009 08:45

Misswoowoo I'm so sorry things don't appear to be working out this time but I'm very glad your husband is being very supportive. I hope you'll be back in ante-natal sooner rather than later.

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 08:56

sending positive thoughts to woowoo and page.

Thinking of you Page62 and Misswoowoo

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 09:58

misswoowoo really thinking of you - The waiting at this time is awful - i really hope that you do get good news, but if not then i can sympathise with the utter shite that it is.

page Hope you manage to get some answers soon and that you get that scan.

I don't think you can analyse the brown blood/ red blood thing cos it seems to vary wildly. I only ever had brown spotting before my mc (and everyone was saying it was ok cos brown blood is old blood) yet i know people who had bright red blood and had healthy pregnancies - and those who had brown spotting and healthy pregancies. So don't try to second guess stuff - it varies xx

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 10:00

Is anyone having a scan soon?

Am thinking of having one next week maybe... undecided... I'll be 7 weeks from next tues you see..

It is a long wait... I wondered about trying to hold off until 8 weeks - but if am going to mc at same time as before - the sooner I know the better I guess?
