Oddly enough my morning sickness been better last two days. It's a lovely relief but I can't help worry a bit....I am stressing out that there is something wrong and I was not like that with DD. Wish I could shake the feeling/fear. Is it normal to worry like this you think? It's almost as if I will not let it sink in that I am pregnant

Sorry am rambling and prob not making much sense.

lazyemma · 21/11/2009 12:39

I feel just like that, Gibbon, the only difference is that I know I felt like this with my daughter as well. Then, I remember doing a CB digi test at about 8 weeks because my boobs had stopped hurting, and it took forever to say "Pregnant", so I convinced myself my HCG levels had dropped and the baby had died. The pointless worry I went through last time is the reason I promised myself not to keep testing this time, but I still worry anyway.

I don't know if the worry you describe is 'normal' but I certainly understand it! And I'm sure lots of other people do too.

GibbonInARibbon · 21/11/2009 12:43

Oh lazyemma that does give me comfort knowing other people feel the same, thank you

Think part of it is with DD I had an early scan so I knew all was ok at this point. 12 weeks is such a long time to wait isn't it?

Exactly thesecondcoming, phew, so we are all feeling the same (well some of us )

Wish I was more relaxed, feeling more nausea again today but not sure if I am willing it on myself

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Firerise · 21/11/2009 14:57

Page I hope you are ok and it is mist likely nothing too worry about but either call nhs direct or go and get yourself checked out if it will put your mind to rest. Thinking of you x

thesecondcoming I am like a small brass band warming up at the moment - I actually woke dh up this morning with my trumpet impression!

page so sorry things are rough today. It does happen a lot so I'm sure that you will be ok but please keep us up to date and lots of positive thoughts from me. Hope you can get to see someone.

winnie It depends on the kind of birth you want. For instance, if you are looking for natural/homebirth I recommend Sheila Kitzinger books. I rather enjoyed "The Rough Guide to Pregnancy" which was fun as well as educational. Another book I love, which is a parody of "What to Expect when you are Expecting" is called "What to Expect when your Wife is Expanding" and is a great gift for dads-to-be. Really funny, if not quite what you're asking about!

givecarrotsachance · 21/11/2009 15:25

gibbon I feel exactly the same. MS much better today (yesterday was a bit miz) but I almost felt better when I had it! Bizarre, really. I've tested about 10 times since my +ve just to see the line getting stronger over time to reassure me.

I'm determinedly going with, "I'm pregnant until otherwise proven. All is well until otherwise proven." And trying to count my blessings that I don't have MS - at least today - ironic considering that those who suffer with it are desperate for it to be over. I'm telling myself to be careful what I wish for .

But at the same time, if I let myself, I'd feel exactly like you.

casper how are you feeling today? I was thinking of you at 5am this morning when I was also chained to the loo , sorry 'n' all!!

fudgecat · 21/11/2009 15:39

Hi Everyone, can i join you?

It has been our 1st cycle of TTC and AF is now two days late.. i have had 2 BFP's so i guess im pregnant... its still not sunk in as i never expected anything to happen this soon and i dont feel any different to normal. I think i will phone the doctors on monday and see if i can get an appointment for next week. Does anyone know if they will do another test to confirm the pregnancy?

tishtosh im in the same smoking boat as you. The Allan Carr book is on the sofa as i type but im also trying to cut down as much as i can - today i have had 4 and a half cigs which is amazing as it is 3:30pm!!!!

Would someone be able to add me to the list? the mn calculator says im due on the 27th July, oh and im 32 and in Oxfordshire

thanks and fingers crossed for everyone

Page62 · 21/11/2009 16:08

thank you for all the positive messages. i went to a friend's house and i have calmed down a bit. there is brown spotting still, will see how the next 48 hours pan out and will book in for a scan on monday near my work to put my mind at ease.
i have no cramping, still nauseaous but i think the thought of losing the little bean would make me continue feeling sick .
thank you for positive thoughts, i will keep you posted

givecarrotsachance · 21/11/2009 16:36

page sounds positive if the bleeding has slowed/nearly stopped. Good news .

Hi fudgecat! Congratulations . IME the docs just ask you to book in with the midwife, which may be straight away or up to a few weeks. If you've had a home positive then unless you are taking medication which has HCG in it, you're pregnant. We also got this one first month TTC which was a real surprise as my first, now 5 yrs, took 7 months (which again isn't too bad...) and I'm 36 this time round. Good luck with the stopping smoking, and what a great incentive you have.

MissWooWoo · 21/11/2009 18:47

Hi

just been to the loo as felt a "grumbling" in the tummy region, found spot of blood. Went to loo and wiped and there is bright red blood .... also like you page my dp has been out at rugby since midday. He will be langers by the time he gets home and I have dd 2.6 here with me, ready to go to bed fairly soon.

Not sure what to do - have a private scan booked for wednesday. If I carry on bleeding should I go to my local hospital? will they scan me there and then?

really shaking, don't want to lose this baby

lazyemma · 21/11/2009 19:59

Hi MissWooWoo. I think you probably should phone the hospital if the bleeding gets heavier and/or the grumblings get more painful, but I hope they settle down. Is your partner contactable? Could you phone him before he gets too bladdered, or is there anyone else who could come round? (if you think it would help to have some company)

Firerise · 21/11/2009 20:02

MissWoowoo Hope you are ok and try not to let it worry you too much (As impossible as that is...deep breaths and distractions?) and maybe ask nhs direct for some advice? I hope everything is fine and fingers crossed for you. My MIL told me when she was pg with my dh she bled for 2 days and was worried sick but all was fine and he was a 9lb baby! X

MissWooWoo · 21/11/2009 20:06

hi lazyemma ... he will already be v drunk. The bleeding isn't heavy and it's only mild cramping, I guess I should just moniter it tonight and see how it goes.

I haven't had my booking in appointment with the midwife yet but I was referred by the dr last week. I might give the midwife unit at the hospital a call in the morning as I have an underlying medical condition and they may see me anyhow ...

trying to stay positive but about the only pregnancy sypmtom I've had this time round is feeling a bit more tired and now I'm completely "alert" and not feeling tired at all ... maybe that's adrenalin as I am shitting it.

MissWooWoo · 21/11/2009 20:07

better put my feet up and watch something girlie - thanks firerise hope you are feeling ok now too?

lazyemma · 21/11/2009 20:23

Bound to be the adrenaline, MissWooWoo - and pregnancy symptoms do wax and wane from day to day anyway, I have found.

I think taking it easy with some girly telly sounds a fine plan. Good luck - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Firerise · 21/11/2009 20:24

Feet up and a film is a good plan and I'm sure being alert is just the adrenalin.

I'm feeling positive about everything now thanks, even to the extent we are argueing about names...I am concerned we will never agree on any!!

Firerise · 22/11/2009 07:43

Page & Misswoowoo, how are you both getting on this morning? X

WinterMadness · 22/11/2009 08:22

Morning girlies!

Hope this having problems over the last few days are ok, thinking of you. Firerise - brilliant news! Dh and I didn't agree 100% on names either but I figured after an 18 hour labour it was only fair that I chose in the end

Still no symptoms. Other than dh telling me he was 'getting bored of my grumpyness'. HA! The cheek! Probably been 'grumpy' as he's had manflu and I haven't pandered to him enough

Feeling in a fab mood today as ds let me stay in bed until 7.20! Miracles do happen after all...

Have a lovely day whatever you're doing.

MumfieMagic · 22/11/2009 09:09

Positive vibes to you this morning Misswoowoo and a healthy morning to everyone else. My pantry looks like a team of savage vagrants from Escape From New York have been in, i'm single handedly cleaning it out, cant stop! Bring on the beach ball!

thesecondcoming I'm not much of a drinker anyway, perhaps one or two drinks a month so I imagine I'll carry on as normal is for me.

givecarrotsachance · 22/11/2009 10:27

secondcoming I plan to start at Christmas Currently avoiding all alcohol going through the first few weeks but that's because I am in a position not to drink - meaning no parties planned and DH is TT anyway. In your position I would have no doubt done the same thing!

FAS is caused by heavy and ongoing drinking, not the odd glass of bubbly, after all.
