Tamlin great that he's feeding so well and it's not sore, not so great that it's quite so frequent for you though. Hopefully as he gets a little older his tummy will expand and then you'll get longer breaks in between. Great that he'll take a bottle too though, I'd be expanding on that idea to get a little more sleep!

Fruit yep, know just how you feel. Today DS is at nursery so am not feeling too sorry for myself. Am wanting to stay near home and not be out in the car by myself too much, but also need to get things like milk etc. but worry that I'll start labour while I'm out. Going on past ones, this will be quick which is adding to my concern really.
Would be so much happier if I could be sure it was going to start say in the night, or of an evening!!

Thinking of starting to do some squats or something to help things along!!

Comma2 · 26/10/2009 14:14

Laugs that makes me mad just reading it! What the *uck are they doing, providing help for disabled people but not heavily pregnant women with toddlers? How disabled do you get?? All these selfish bastards that don't give a damn whether you'll pass out any second as long as they get to the trough half a minute earlier! Go to the train and grab the next best person to schlepp stuff on the train for you! Or make the train wait until you are all set. Lodge something into the door. This is supposed to be a bloody society.

Deep breath....grrrr....

I had a no-name ring sling, but was coveting the Maya sling. This time I have a moby wrap and another, but more stylish, no-name ring sling. I think any sling will work for bf as long as its comfy for you and has enough material to pull it up a bit.

Erika hope everything is ok with the scan today, thinking of you...

Koumak · 26/10/2009 15:36

Oh I think I caught up! Sorry it will be long.

Tamlin I love Arthur. Artie for short. Second on my list after Sebastian but we are having a girl! And I am sure he will space the feeds very soon. I say pump away to get out of one feed at least. My dh never gave a single bottle to ds but don?t think he will be getting away with it with this one!

Ninja happy belated birthday. How are you now? Hope the bleeding has stopped?

Can anyone please repost Kyte?s cookies. Would love to try those at the weekend.

I have a weird pregnancy syndrome. I have noticed brown patches on my armpits. Most odd. Like the skin where I put the deodorant?s gone brown. What is that about? I do wash so you know! It?s like the brown nipples go when pregnant if that makes any sense?

What is the best piles cream? You know the top one like Lansinoh, Bepanthen version for piles? Not have any yet luckily but though I get prepared!

I must say I am not hormonal like most of you rather snappy at ds and dh which I hate and I think that is worse than few tears. I am turning into shouty monster. I really hate being like this but cant really help it!

Have been munching raspberry leaf capsules and pineapple, been having loads of sex (nct teacher it?s the quantity not quality that counts at this stage..) but not a hint of anything happening. Crystal ball anyone? And my boobs are leaking so much that as soon as I take my bra off it dribbles down my front. Nice.

Not really nesting nor cleaning but have started on sorting out the home office but unfortunately I think I am making it actually far worse than it was as I have now run out of boxes and have nowhere to put all the piles of papers and the front room is covered in them. I have been quite ruthless and recycled so much stuff, I am sure I will be looking for something in a couple of months.

I took ds for a swim yesterday on my own as dh was working. Wave machine and everything. This baby won?t budge. I was saying to dh afterwards if I don?t give birth today after all that acrobatics in the water it?s never. And you guess it. Nope don?t think I will be the one supplying a baby this week.

Thinking of Erika and Easyeggs? having scans today.

And dh doesn?t want me to have the swine flu jab. Won?t have time for it anyway.

Trikken · 26/10/2009 15:43

who's good with thread names? looks like we'll be needing another v soon.

katster37 · 26/10/2009 16:04

Tamlin, I lovet the name Arthur, really sweet.

Koumak I don't want the swine flu vaccine either. Although I would like it after the birth but that's probably not an option. Oh, and well done on the 'lots of sex'! I was contemplating how on earth just this morning, it is the last thing I want to do.... Our NCT teacher told us ( in advance) that the sperm were more effective 'ingested through the gut' . I am sorry, but not a chance.

I am feeling guilty - spent the afternoon eating choc orange and sleeping...

LissyGlitter · 26/10/2009 16:29

So, back from the hospital, really simple checkup, section booked for Monday the 16th. So, I could go into labour before that, but will definitely not be pregnant on the 17th! Now I actually have a goal, it seems a lot easier to manage.

katster37 · 26/10/2009 16:38

Yay, Lissy - glad all went well. Will you be about 39 weeks by then? What happens if you do go into labour before that date? How exciting that in 3 weeks, you will definitely have your baby!!

My sore throat is really bad Am paranoid I have flu! I would have a temp though, right?

LissyGlitter · 26/10/2009 16:41

katster I will be 39+1, and if I go into labour before then I just go into hospital and they do the section there and then. So glad that I now have "section" written on my notes, so I don't need to argue about it if I do go into labour.

Quite a list!

We have all been in virus/flu nightmare all over the weekend- ds has still got dresdful cough, sniffles, runs. I have got the cough and sniffles, and total whacked out muscle crampy feeling, but I am sure it must be on its way out now, ds has been ill since Weds so it must have almost run its course. Midwives assured me that many women manage to give birth in the grips of all sorts of horrid illnesses! dh has been a total god, and it's an absolute miracle that he hasn't come down with it too.

Laugs I agree with Kyte that you will probably be able to find help at the station. Ignore call centre wally. I went from Norwich- Worthing and crossed London on the circle line with ds when he was 3, with a suitcase and buggy and was really nervous but was helped with the buggy up every single step by various strangers, mainly lovely men It restored my faith in human nature completely and I know it would be fine to do it again. Have to admit though, I did get a taxi across London on the way back but that was mainly so we could sightsee.

Koumak I am in awe. Even if I wasn't drowning in snot I still don't think I could have sex- just looking at the pictures of 'positions you can try in pregnancy' in my Miriam Stppard book makes me want to vomit, though this may be mainly because of the hugely unattractive man in the picture

I agree Katster about the flu jab. I will miss the swine flu in pregnancy jab boat, but I would really like to have it when baby is born, which isn't an option argh! Whatever ds and I have been ill with has made me realise that any illness one can avoid, one should avoid!!!

Lissy I envy you knowing your date. This waiting game is driving me crazy.

Curled up this pm with dh and ds and watched The Incredibles. It was totally brilliant but only the action scenes really gripped ds- I think he'll get it a lot more in a couple of years.

Belated happy birthday Ninja although what aa start to the day you had!

Tamlin Arthur is a great name, and lovely shortenings too- Art, Artie. Whereas ( I thoght it best not to mention this before) my brother Felix is often called 'fifi' by his loving siblings

wook · 26/10/2009 18:01

Kyte plain old shortbread - no eggs, really easy

southernbelle77 · 26/10/2009 18:23

Where's Becky when you need her! The thread is about to end and we've got a new one! Anyone else got any good suggestions? I'm useless at anything like that!!

southernbelle77 · 26/10/2009 18:24

Meant not got a new one!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 26/10/2009 18:47

Wow, a lot of posts! I cannot keep up while I am decorating

tamlin love the name Arthur, great choice, how is everything going? Hope you are enjoying your adorable boy.

kyte not sure where you got me/swine flu from, as I don't recall reporting I might have it unless I have been so dilusional with the fever from it I can't remember ...

...however. I do have another kidney infection. Grr. I have had a sore back for a few days, nothing too bad. But last night I could not sleep for the pain of feeling like I have been kicked in the back which felt better once I peed, although I feel fine in myself, not like last time. But toddled off to gp just to rule out a kidney infection given that it can induce early labour. And it turns out I am pretty shit at noticing when I have a temperature! I am usually quite warm blooded so just guessed when DH has been running around with a coat on and I have not, i was just being normally warm, with extra pg blood! But no. I have a fever and white blood cells in urine, so likely, but needs confirming with hospital, will know wednesday.

Been given more antibiotics, told not to take it until wednesday as already had antibiotics, she wants to make sure that is the problem before I take them.

But I have still managed to do a lot of decorating. Back kills if I sit down, but standing or sitting crossed legs seems ok so I have done caulking and put up some new dado rail, bit of final coat painting. It still seems like we have a ton to do, but they are all little bits and hopefully tomorrow evening it will all be done

Then, I can start panicking about having a baby, as I should be .

Hope everyone is ok, sorry for not responding to all.

scarlotti · 26/10/2009 18:55

Ladies, I could do with your opinions on something.

It was my neice's birthday over the weekend so we went up to visit. They wanted sticklebricks for her - she was 2. I had bought DS a bucket a year or more ago for xmas and he has never played with them since opening them, the bucket has maybe been opened 2 or 3 times. So I gave them to my neice.
My brother and SIL checked the contents of the bucket and asked me for the reciept as they said there were the wrong bits or not enough bits in there. I ended up confessing that I'd bought it for DS but given it to my neice as he'd not played with it. I also said that as I was not earning I was trying to save money.
They've replied saying they are p*ssed off and disappointed that the only gift I gave was 2nd hand, and that surely paying for a present wouldn't have broken the bank.

What do you think? Do you think I was being out of order with what I did? It was in immaculate condition otherwise I wouldn't have done it.
Please be honest, as can't trust my judgement these days with these pesky hormones.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 26/10/2009 19:00

scarlotti why on earth are they pissed off? ridiculous, absolutely not your hormones! they wanted stickle bricks, you had some. Did they want you to go and buy something you have already in the cupboard, because they do not want second hand? I have several friends, one lot in particular (not family, but they are the same as family, DD calls them aunty/uncle, they are godparents, etc), they often give DD second hand toys that used to be their son's, does not even register that they should make an effort and spend money. it is not what its all about. on your behalf. Why should you be made to feel shit when you are skint, when you gave them what they bloody well wanted? I would tell them. They are bloody lucky they got anything at all, DD doesn't get anything from her real aunts or uncles as they are slack as!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 26/10/2009 19:03

When my DD opens up her presents from people, she has absolutely no clue whether it is new or second hand and what is more she does not care. At christmas, she rips off the paper and sees some noddy toys and a noddy rucksack that she used to love playing with (that belonged to said friends) and she was absolutely made up and they were her toys.

ursigurke · 26/10/2009 19:09

scarlotti, I am rather shocked by your brother's and SIL's behaviour! First of all, you can not tell people that they HAVE TO buy or give you a present, second most children have too much things to play anyway and third most toys are only interesting for a short while so it is actually quite good that you try to use them for several children. My nephew and my niece always get so much stuff as everybody wants to give them something that my sister is actually trying to limit it. So for example I was allowed to buy something (on her order) for my nephews birthday but I won't buy any christmas present.
Probably you could have told them before giving it to your niece but I really think it is quite silly to complain that you did not spend money on a present! So just forget about it.
